الٓر ۚ
alif-lam-raAlif Lam Ra
تِلْكَ
til'kaThese
ءَايَـٰتُ
āyātu(are the) verses
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābi(of) the Book
ٱلْحَكِيمِ
l-ḥakīmithe wise
١
(1)
Alif, Lām, Rā. These are the verses of the wise Book.

أَكَانَ
akānaIs it
لِلنَّاسِ
lilnnāsifor the mankind
عَجَبًا
ʿajabana wonder
أَنْ
anthat
أَوْحَيْنَآ
awḥaynāWe revealed
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
رَجُلٍۢ
rajulina man
مِّنْهُمْ
min'humfrom (among) them
أَنْ
anthat
أَنذِرِ
andhiriWarn
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsathe mankind
وَبَشِّرِ
wabashiriand give glad tidings
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna(to) those who
ءَامَنُوٓا۟
āmanūbelieve
أَنَّ
annathat
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
قَدَمَ
qadama(will be) a respectable position
صِدْقٍ
ṣid'qin(will be) a respectable position
عِندَ
ʿindanear
رَبِّهِمْ ۗ
rabbihimtheir Lord
قَالَ
qālaSaid
ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
l-kāfirūnathe disbelievers
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
لَسَـٰحِرٌۭ
lasāḥirun(is) surely a magician
مُّبِينٌ
mubīnunobvious
٢
(2)
Have the people been amazed that We revealed [revelation] to a man from among them, [saying], "Warn mankind and give good tidings to those who believe that they will have a [firm] precedence of honor with their Lord"? [But] the disbelievers say, "Indeed, this is an obvious magician."

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
رَبَّكُمُ
rabbakumuyour Lord
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu(is) Allah
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīthe One Who
خَلَقَ
khalaqacreated
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍaand the earth
فِى
in
سِتَّةِ
sittatisix
أَيَّامٍۢ
ayyāminperiods
ثُمَّ
thummathen
ٱسْتَوَىٰ
is'tawāHe established
عَلَى
ʿalāon
ٱلْعَرْشِ ۖ
l-ʿarshithe Throne
يُدَبِّرُ
yudabbirudisposing
ٱلْأَمْرَ ۖ
l-amrathe affairs
مَا
Not
مِن
min(is) any intercessor
شَفِيعٍ
shafīʿin(is) any intercessor
إِلَّا
illāexcept
مِنۢ
minafter
بَعْدِ
baʿdiafter
إِذْنِهِۦ ۚ
idh'nihiHis permission
ذَٰلِكُمُ
dhālikumuThat
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu(is) Allah
رَبُّكُمْ
rabbukumyour Lord
فَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۚ
fa-uʿ'budūhuso worship Him
أَفَلَا
afalāThen will not
تَذَكَّرُونَ
tadhakkarūnayou remember
٣
(3)
Indeed, your Lord is Allāh, who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne, arranging the matter [of His creation]. There is no intercessor except after His permission. That is Allāh, your Lord, so worship Him. Then will you not remember?

إِلَيْهِ
ilayhiTo Him
مَرْجِعُكُمْ
marjiʿukum(will be) your return
جَمِيعًۭا ۖ
jamīʿan[all]
وَعْدَ
waʿdaPromise
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
حَقًّا ۚ
ḥaqqan(is) true
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, He
يَبْدَؤُا۟
yabda-uoriginates
ٱلْخَلْقَ
l-khalqathe creation
ثُمَّ
thummathen
يُعِيدُهُۥ
yuʿīduhuHe repeats it
لِيَجْزِىَ
liyajziyathat He may reward
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieved
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilūand did
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥātithe good deeds
بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۚ
bil-qis'ṭiin justice
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaBut those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarūdisbelieved
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
شَرَابٌۭ
sharābun(will be) a drink
مِّنْ
minof
حَمِيمٍۢ
ḥamīminboiling fluids
وَعَذَابٌ
waʿadhābunand a punishment
أَلِيمٌۢ
alīmunpainful
بِمَا
bimābecause
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey used (to)
يَكْفُرُونَ
yakfurūnadisbelieve
٤
(4)
To Him is your return all together. [It is] the promise of Allāh [which is] truth. Indeed, He begins the [process of] creation and then repeats it that He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds, in justice. But those who disbelieved will have a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment for what they used to deny.

هُوَ
huwaHe
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
jaʿalamade
ٱلشَّمْسَ
l-shamsathe sun
ضِيَآءًۭ
ḍiyāana shining light
وَٱلْقَمَرَ
wal-qamaraand the moon
نُورًۭا
nūrana reflected light
وَقَدَّرَهُۥ
waqaddarahuand determined for it
مَنَازِلَ
manāzilaphases
لِتَعْلَمُوا۟
litaʿlamūthat you may know
عَدَدَ
ʿadada(the) number
ٱلسِّنِينَ
l-sinīna(of) the years
وَٱلْحِسَابَ ۚ
wal-ḥisābaand the count (of time)
مَا
Not
خَلَقَ
khalaqacreated
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
إِلَّا
illāexcept
بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ
bil-ḥaqiin truth
يُفَصِّلُ
yufaṣṣiluHe explains
ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ
l-āyātithe Signs
لِقَوْمٍۢ
liqawminfor a people
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūna(who) know
٥
(5)
It is He who made the sun a shining light and the moon a derived light and determined for it phases - that you may know the number of years and account [of time]. Allāh has not created this except in truth. He details the signs for a people who know.

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
فِى
in
ٱخْتِلَـٰفِ
ikh'tilāfi(the) alternation
ٱلَّيْلِ
al-layli(of) the night
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
wal-nahāriand the day
وَمَا
wamāand what
خَلَقَ
khalaqa(has been) created
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu(by) Allah
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍiand the earth
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ
laāyātin(are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢ
liqawminfor a people
يَتَّقُونَ
yattaqūnawho are God conscious
٦
(6)
Indeed, in the alternation of the night and the day and [in] what Allāh has created in the heavens and the earth are signs for a people who fear Allāh.

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
لَا
(do) not
يَرْجُونَ
yarjūnaexpect
لِقَآءَنَا
liqāanāthe meeting with Us
وَرَضُوا۟
waraḍūand are pleased
بِٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
bil-ḥayatiwith the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā(of) the world
وَٱطْمَأَنُّوا۟
wa-iṭ'ma-annūand feel satisfied
بِهَا
bihāwith it
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaand those
هُمْ
humthey
عَنْ
ʿan(are) of
ءَايَـٰتِنَا
āyātināOur Signs
غَـٰفِلُونَ
ghāfilūnaheedless
٧
(7)
Indeed, those who do not expect the meeting with Us and are satisfied with the life of this world and feel secure therein and those who are heedless of Our signs -

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāikaThose
مَأْوَىٰهُمُ
mawāhumutheir abode
ٱلنَّارُ
l-nāru(will be) the Fire
بِمَا
bimāfor what
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey used (to)
يَكْسِبُونَ
yaksibūnaearn
٨
(8)
For those their refuge will be the Fire because of what they used to earn.

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieved
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilūand did
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥātigood deeds
يَهْدِيهِمْ
yahdīhim(will) guide them
رَبُّهُم
rabbuhumtheir Lord
بِإِيمَـٰنِهِمْ ۖ
biīmānihimby their faith
تَجْرِى
tajrīWill flow
مِن
minfrom
تَحْتِهِمُ
taḥtihimuunderneath them
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ
l-anhāruthe rivers
فِى
in
جَنَّـٰتِ
jannātiGardens
ٱلنَّعِيمِ
l-naʿīmi(of) Delight
٩
(9)
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - their Lord will guide them because of their faith. Beneath them rivers will flow in the Gardens of Pleasure.

دَعْوَىٰهُمْ
daʿwāhumTheir prayer
فِيهَا
fīhātherein
سُبْحَـٰنَكَ
sub'ḥānaka(will be), "Glory be to You
ٱللَّهُمَّ
l-lahumaO Allah
وَتَحِيَّتُهُمْ
wataḥiyyatuhumAnd their greeting
فِيهَا
fīhātherein (will be)
سَلَـٰمٌۭ ۚ
salāmunPeace
وَءَاخِرُ
waākhiruAnd the last
دَعْوَىٰهُمْ
daʿwāhum(of) their call
أَنِ
ani(will be) [that]
ٱلْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamduAll the Praise be
لِلَّهِ
lillahito Allah
رَبِّ
rabbiLord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
١٠
(10)
Their call therein will be, "Exalted are You, O Allāh," and their greeting therein will be, "Peace." And the last of their call will be, "Praise to Allāh, Lord of the worlds!"

۞ وَلَوْ
walawAnd if
يُعَجِّلُ
yuʿajjiluhastens
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu(by) Allah
لِلنَّاسِ
lilnnāsifor the mankind
ٱلشَّرَّ
l-sharathe evil
ٱسْتِعْجَالَهُم
is'tiʿ'jālahum(as) He hastens for them
بِٱلْخَيْرِ
bil-khayrithe good
لَقُضِىَ
laquḍiyasurely, would have been decreed
إِلَيْهِمْ
ilayhimfor them
أَجَلُهُمْ ۖ
ajaluhumtheir term
فَنَذَرُ
fanadharuBut We leave
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
لَا
(do) not
يَرْجُونَ
yarjūnaexpect
لِقَآءَنَا
liqāanāthe meeting with Us
فِى
in
طُغْيَـٰنِهِمْ
ṭugh'yānihimtheir transgression
يَعْمَهُونَ
yaʿmahūnawandering blindly
١١
(11)
And if Allāh was to hasten for the people the evil [they invoke] as He hastens for them the good, their term would have been ended for them. But We leave the ones who do not expect the meeting with Us, in their transgression, wandering blindly.

وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
مَسَّ
massatouches
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
l-insānathe man
ٱلضُّرُّ
l-ḍuruthe affliction
دَعَانَا
daʿānāhe calls Us
لِجَنۢبِهِۦٓ
lijanbihi(lying) on his side
أَوْ
awor
قَاعِدًا
qāʿidansitting
أَوْ
awor
قَآئِمًۭا
qāimanstanding
فَلَمَّا
falammāBut when
كَشَفْنَا
kashafnāWe remove
عَنْهُ
ʿanhufrom him
ضُرَّهُۥ
ḍurrahuhis affliction
مَرَّ
marrahe passes on
كَأَن
ka-anas if he
لَّمْ
lam(had) not
يَدْعُنَآ
yadʿunācalled Us
إِلَىٰ
ilāfor
ضُرٍّۢ
ḍurrin(the) affliction
مَّسَّهُۥ ۚ
massahu(that) touched him
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālikaThus
زُيِّنَ
zuyyina(it) is made fair seeming
لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ
lil'mus'rifīnato the extravagant
مَا
what
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey used (to)
يَعْمَلُونَ
yaʿmalūnado
١٢
(12)
And when affliction touches man, he calls upon Us, whether lying on his side or sitting or standing; but when We remove from him his affliction, he continues [in disobedience] as if he had never called upon Us to [remove] an affliction that touched him. Thus is made pleasing to the transgressors that which they have been doing.

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd verily
أَهْلَكْنَا
ahlaknāWe destroyed
ٱلْقُرُونَ
l-qurūnathe generations
مِن
minbefore you
قَبْلِكُمْ
qablikumbefore you
لَمَّا
lammāwhen
ظَلَمُوا۟ ۙ
ẓalamūthey wronged
وَجَآءَتْهُمْ
wajāathumand came to them
رُسُلُهُم
rusuluhumtheir Messengers
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ
bil-bayinātiwith clear proofs
وَمَا
wamābut not
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey were
لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ ۚ
liyu'minūto believe
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālikaThus
نَجْزِى
najzīWe recompense
ٱلْقَوْمَ
l-qawmathe people
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
l-muj'rimīna(who are) criminals
١٣
(13)
And We had already destroyed generations before you when they wronged, and their messengers had come to them with clear proofs, but they were not to believe. Thus do We recompense the criminal people.

ثُمَّ
thummaThen
جَعَلْنَـٰكُمْ
jaʿalnākumWe made you
خَلَـٰٓئِفَ
khalāifasuccessors
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
مِنۢ
minafter them
بَعْدِهِمْ
baʿdihimafter them
لِنَنظُرَ
linanẓuraso that We may see
كَيْفَ
kayfahow
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūnayou do
١٤
(14)
Then We made you successors in the land after them so that We may observe how you will do.

وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
تُتْلَىٰ
tut'lāare recited
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhimto them
ءَايَاتُنَا
āyātunāOur Verses
بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ ۙ
bayyinātin(as) clear proofs
قَالَ
qālasaid
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
لَا
(do) not
يَرْجُونَ
yarjūnahope
لِقَآءَنَا
liqāanā(for the) meeting (with) Us
ٱئْتِ
i'tiBring us
بِقُرْءَانٍ
biqur'ānina Quran
غَيْرِ
ghayriother (than)
هَـٰذَآ
hādhāthis
أَوْ
awor
بَدِّلْهُ ۚ
baddil'huchange it
قُلْ
qulSay
مَا
Not
يَكُونُ
yakūnu(it) is
لِىٓ
for me
أَنْ
anthat
أُبَدِّلَهُۥ
ubaddilahuI change it
مِن
minof
تِلْقَآئِ
til'qāimy own accord
نَفْسِىٓ ۖ
nafsīmy own accord
إِنْ
inNot
أَتَّبِعُ
attabiʿuI follow
إِلَّا
illāexcept
مَا
what
يُوحَىٰٓ
yūḥāis revealed
إِلَىَّ ۖ
ilayyato me
إِنِّىٓ
innīIndeed, I
أَخَافُ
akhāfu[I] fear
إِنْ
inif
عَصَيْتُ
ʿaṣaytuI were to disobey
رَبِّى
rabbīmy Lord
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba(the) punishment
يَوْمٍ
yawmin(of) a Day
عَظِيمٍۢ
ʿaẓīminGreat
١٥
(15)
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Bring us a Qur’ān other than this or change it." Say, [O Muḥammad], "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I only follow what is revealed to me. Indeed I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day."

qulSay
لَّوْ
lawIf
شَآءَ
shāa(had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah
مَا
not
تَلَوْتُهُۥ
talawtuhuI (would) have recited it
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykumto you
وَلَآ
walāand not
أَدْرَىٰكُم
adrākumHe (would) have made it known to you
بِهِۦ ۖ
bihiHe (would) have made it known to you
فَقَدْ
faqadVerily
لَبِثْتُ
labith'tuI have stayed
فِيكُمْ
fīkumamong you
عُمُرًۭا
ʿumurana lifetime
مِّن
minbefore it
قَبْلِهِۦٓ ۚ
qablihibefore it
أَفَلَا
afalāThen will not
تَعْقِلُونَ
taʿqilūnayou use reason
١٦
(16)
Say, "If Allāh had willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you, for I had remained among you a lifetime before it. Then will you not reason?"

فَمَنْ
famanSo who
أَظْلَمُ
aẓlamu(is) more wrong
مِمَّنِ
mimmanithan he who
ٱفْتَرَىٰ
if'tarāinvents
عَلَى
ʿalāagainst
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
كَذِبًا
kadhibana lie
أَوْ
awor
كَذَّبَ
kadhabadenies
بِـَٔايَـٰتِهِۦٓ ۚ
biāyātihiHis Signs
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed
لَا
not
يُفْلِحُ
yuf'liḥuwill succeed
ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
l-muj'rimūnathe criminals
١٧
(17)
So who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allāh or denies His signs? Indeed, the criminals will not succeed.

وَيَعْبُدُونَ
wayaʿbudūnaAnd they worship
مِن
minfrom
دُونِ
dūniother than
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
مَا
that (which)
لَا
(does) not
يَضُرُّهُمْ
yaḍurruhumharm them
وَلَا
walāand not
يَنفَعُهُمْ
yanfaʿuhumbenefit them
وَيَقُولُونَ
wayaqūlūnaand they say
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
hāulāiThese
شُفَعَـٰٓؤُنَا
shufaʿāunā(are) our intercessors
عِندَ
ʿindawith
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahiAllah
قُلْ
qulSay
أَتُنَبِّـُٔونَ
atunabbiūnaDo you inform
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
بِمَا
bimāof what
لَا
not
يَعْلَمُ
yaʿlamuhe knows
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَلَا
walāand not
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ
l-arḍithe earth
سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ
sub'ḥānahuGlorified is He
وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ
wataʿālāand Exalted
عَمَّا
ʿammāabove what
يُشْرِكُونَ
yush'rikūnathey associate (with Him)
١٨
(18)
And they worship other than Allāh that which neither harms them nor benefits them, and they say, "These are our intercessors with Allāh." Say, "Do you inform Allāh of something He does not know in the heavens or on the earth?" Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him.

وَمَا
wamāAnd not
كَانَ
kānawas
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsuthe mankind
إِلَّآ
illābut
أُمَّةًۭ
ummatana community
وَٰحِدَةًۭ
wāḥidatanone
فَٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ ۚ
fa-ikh'talafūthen they differed
وَلَوْلَا
walawlāAnd had (it) not been
كَلِمَةٌۭ
kalimatuna word
سَبَقَتْ
sabaqat(that) preceded
مِن
minfrom
رَّبِّكَ
rabbikayour Lord
لَقُضِىَ
laquḍiyasurely, it (would) have been judged
بَيْنَهُمْ
baynahumbetween them
فِيمَا
fīmāconcerning what
فِيهِ
fīhi[therein]
يَخْتَلِفُونَ
yakhtalifūnathey differ
١٩
(19)
And mankind was not but one community [united in religion], but [then] they differed. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them [immediately] concerning that over which they differ.

وَيَقُولُونَ
wayaqūlūnaAnd they say
لَوْلَآ
lawlāWhy not
أُنزِلَ
unzilais sent down
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhito him
ءَايَةٌۭ
āyatuna Sign
مِّن
minfrom
رَّبِّهِۦ ۖ
rabbihihis Lord
فَقُلْ
faqulSo say
إِنَّمَا
innamāOnly
ٱلْغَيْبُ
l-ghaybuthe unseen
لِلَّهِ
lillahi(is) for Allah
فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟
fa-intaẓirūso wait
إِنِّى
innīindeed, I am
مَعَكُم
maʿakumwith you
مِّنَ
minaamong
ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ
l-muntaẓirīnathe ones who wait
٢٠
(20)
And they say, "Why is a sign not sent down to him from his Lord?" So say, "The unseen is only for Allāh [to administer], so wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait."

وَإِذَآ
wa-idhāAnd when
أَذَقْنَا
adhaqnāWe let [the] mankind taste
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsaWe let [the] mankind taste
رَحْمَةًۭ
raḥmatanmercy
مِّنۢ
minafter
بَعْدِ
baʿdiafter
ضَرَّآءَ
ḍarrāaadversity
مَسَّتْهُمْ
massathumhas touched them
إِذَا
idhābehold
لَهُم
lahumThey have
مَّكْرٌۭ
makruna plot
فِىٓ
against
ءَايَاتِنَا ۚ
āyātināOur Verses
قُلِ
quliSay
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah
أَسْرَعُ
asraʿu(is) more swift
مَكْرًا ۚ
makran(in) planning
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
رُسُلَنَا
rusulanāOur Messengers
يَكْتُبُونَ
yaktubūnawrite down
مَا
what
تَمْكُرُونَ
tamkurūnayou plot
٢١
(21)
And when We give the people a taste of mercy after adversity has touched them, at once they conspire against Our verses. Say, "Allāh is swifter in strategy." Indeed, Our messengers [i.e., angels] record that which you conspire.

هُوَ
huwaHe
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(is) the One Who
يُسَيِّرُكُمْ
yusayyirukumenables you to travel
فِى
in
ٱلْبَرِّ
l-barithe land
وَٱلْبَحْرِ ۖ
wal-baḥriand the sea
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattāuntil
إِذَا
idhāwhen
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou are

in
ٱلْفُلْكِ
l-ful'kithe ships
وَجَرَيْنَ
wajaraynaand they sail
بِهِم
bihimwith them
بِرِيحٍۢ
birīḥinwith a wind
طَيِّبَةٍۢ
ṭayyibatingood
وَفَرِحُوا۟
wafariḥūand they rejoice
بِهَا
bihātherein
جَآءَتْهَا
jāathācomes to it
رِيحٌ
rīḥuna wind
عَاصِفٌۭ
ʿāṣifunstormy
وَجَآءَهُمُ
wajāahumuand comes to them
ٱلْمَوْجُ
l-mawjuthe waves
مِن
minfrom
كُلِّ
kullievery
مَكَانٍۢ
makāninplace
وَظَنُّوٓا۟
waẓannūand they assume
أَنَّهُمْ
annahumthat they
أُحِيطَ
uḥīṭaare surrounded
بِهِمْ ۙ
bihimwith them
دَعَوُا۟
daʿawūThey call
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
مُخْلِصِينَ
mukh'liṣīnasincerely
لَهُ
lahuto Him
ٱلدِّينَ
l-dīna(in) the religion
لَئِنْ
la-in(saying), "If
أَنجَيْتَنَا
anjaytanāYou save us
مِنْ
minfrom
هَـٰذِهِۦ
hādhihithis
لَنَكُونَنَّ
lanakūnannasurely we will be
مِنَ
minaamong
ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ
l-shākirīnathe thankful
٢٢
(22)
It is He who enables you to travel on land and sea until, when you are in ships and they sail with them by a good wind and they rejoice therein, there comes a storm wind and the waves come upon them from every place and they expect to be engulfed, they supplicate Allāh, sincere to Him in religion, "If You should save us from this, we will surely be among the thankful."

فَلَمَّآ
falammāBut when
أَنجَىٰهُمْ
anjāhumHe saved them
إِذَا
idhābehold
هُمْ
humThey
يَبْغُونَ
yabghūnarebel
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
بِغَيْرِ
bighayriwithout
ٱلْحَقِّ ۗ
l-ḥaqi[the] right
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhāO mankind
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsuO mankind
إِنَّمَا
innamāOnly
بَغْيُكُمْ
baghyukumyour rebellion
عَلَىٰٓ
ʿalā(is) against
أَنفُسِكُم ۖ
anfusikumyourselves
مَّتَـٰعَ
matāʿa(the) enjoyment
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
l-ḥayati(of) the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ
l-dun'yā(of) the world
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
إِلَيْنَا
ilaynāto Us
مَرْجِعُكُمْ
marjiʿukum(is) your return
فَنُنَبِّئُكُم
fanunabbi-ukumand We will inform you
بِمَا
bimāof what
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūnado
٢٣
(23)
But when He saves them, at once they commit injustice upon the earth without right. O mankind, your injustice is only against yourselves, [being merely] the enjoyment of worldly life. Then to Us is your return, and We will inform you of what you used to do.

إِنَّمَا
innamāOnly
مَثَلُ
mathalu(the) example
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
l-ḥayati(of) the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā(of) the world
كَمَآءٍ
kamāin(is) like (the) water
أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ
anzalnāhuwhich We sent down
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāithe sky
فَٱخْتَلَطَ
fa-ikh'talaṭaso absorbs
بِهِۦ
bihi[with] it
نَبَاتُ
nabātu(the) plants
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi(of) the earth
مِمَّا
mimmāfrom which
يَأْكُلُ
yakulueat
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsuthe men
وَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمُ
wal-anʿāmuand the cattle
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattāuntil
إِذَآ
idhāwhen
أَخَذَتِ
akhadhatitakes
ٱلْأَرْضُ
l-arḍuthe earth
زُخْرُفَهَا
zukh'rufahāits adornment
وَٱزَّيَّنَتْ
wa-izzayyanatand is beautified
وَظَنَّ
waẓannaand think
أَهْلُهَآ
ahluhāits people
أَنَّهُمْ
annahumthat they
قَـٰدِرُونَ
qādirūnahave the power
عَلَيْهَآ
ʿalayhāover it
أَتَىٰهَآ
atāhācomes (to) it
أَمْرُنَا
amrunāOur command
لَيْلًا
laylan(by) night
أَوْ
awor
نَهَارًۭا
nahāran(by) day
فَجَعَلْنَـٰهَا
fajaʿalnāhāand We make it
حَصِيدًۭا
ḥaṣīdana harvest clean-mown
كَأَن
ka-anas if
لَّمْ
lamnot
تَغْنَ
taghnait had flourished
بِٱلْأَمْسِ ۚ
bil-amsiyesterday
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālikaThus
نُفَصِّلُ
nufaṣṣiluWe explain
ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ
l-āyātithe Signs
لِقَوْمٍۢ
liqawminfor a people
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
yatafakkarūnawho reflect
٢٤
(24)
The example of [this] worldly life is but like rain which We have sent down from the sky that the plants of the earth absorb - [those] from which men and livestock eat - until, when the earth has taken on its adornment and is beautified and its people suppose that they have capability over it, there comes to it Our command by night or by day, and We make it as a harvest, as if it had not flourished yesterday. Thus do We explain in detail the signs for a people who give thought.

وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahuAnd Allah
يَدْعُوٓا۟
yadʿūcalls
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
دَارِ
dāri(the) Home
ٱلسَّلَـٰمِ
l-salāmi(of) the Peace
وَيَهْدِى
wayahdīand guides
مَن
manwhom
يَشَآءُ
yashāuHe wills
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
صِرَٰطٍۢ
ṣirāṭin(the) straight path
مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ
mus'taqīmin(the) straight path
٢٥
(25)
And Allāh invites to the Home of Peace [i.e., Paradise] and guides whom He wills to a straight path.

۞ لِّلَّذِينَ
lilladhīnaFor those who
أَحْسَنُوا۟
aḥsanūdo good
ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
l-ḥus'nā(is) the best
وَزِيَادَةٌۭ ۖ
waziyādatunand more
وَلَا
walāAnd not
يَرْهَقُ
yarhaqu(will) cover
وُجُوهَهُمْ
wujūhahumtheir faces
قَتَرٌۭ
qatarundust
وَلَا
walāand not
ذِلَّةٌ ۚ
dhillatunhumiliation
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāikaThose
أَصْحَـٰبُ
aṣḥābu(are the) companions
ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ
l-janati(of) Paradise
هُمْ
humthey
فِيهَا
fīhāin it
خَـٰلِدُونَ
khālidūna(will) abide forever
٢٦
(26)
For them who have done good is the best [reward] - and extra. No darkness will cover their faces, nor humiliation. Those are companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally.

وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaAnd those who
كَسَبُوا۟
kasabūearned
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ
l-sayiātithe evil deeds
جَزَآءُ
jazāu(the) recompense
سَيِّئَةٍۭ
sayyi-atin(of) an evil deed
بِمِثْلِهَا
bimith'lihā(is) like it
وَتَرْهَقُهُمْ
watarhaquhumand (will) cover them
ذِلَّةٌۭ ۖ
dhillatunhumiliation
مَّا
They will not have
لَهُم
lahumThey will not have
مِّنَ
minafrom
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
مِنْ
minany
عَاصِمٍۢ ۖ
ʿāṣimindefender
كَأَنَّمَآ
ka-annamāAs if
أُغْشِيَتْ
ugh'shiyathad been covered
وُجُوهُهُمْ
wujūhuhumtheir faces
قِطَعًۭا
qiṭaʿan(with) pieces
مِّنَ
minafrom
ٱلَّيْلِ
al-laylithe darkness (of) night
مُظْلِمًا ۚ
muẓ'limanthe darkness (of) night
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāikaThose
أَصْحَـٰبُ
aṣḥābu(are the) companions
ٱلنَّارِ ۖ
l-nāri(of) the Fire
هُمْ
humthey
فِيهَا
fīhāin it
خَـٰلِدُونَ
khālidūna(will) abide forever
٢٧
(27)
But they who have earned [blame for] evil doings - the recompense of an evil deed is its equivalent, and humiliation will cover them. They will have from Allāh no protector. It will be as if their faces are covered with pieces of the night - so dark [are they]. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

وَيَوْمَ
wayawmaAnd (the) Day
نَحْشُرُهُمْ
naḥshuruhumWe will gather them
جَمِيعًۭا
jamīʿanall together
ثُمَّ
thummathen
نَقُولُ
naqūluWe will say
لِلَّذِينَ
lilladhīnato those who
أَشْرَكُوا۟
ashrakūassociate partners (with Allah)
مَكَانَكُمْ
makānakum(Remain in) your place
أَنتُمْ
antumyou
وَشُرَكَآؤُكُمْ ۚ
washurakāukumand your partners
فَزَيَّلْنَا
fazayyalnāThen We will separate
بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ
baynahum[between] them
وَقَالَ
waqālaand (will) say
شُرَكَآؤُهُم
shurakāuhumtheir partners
مَّا
Not
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou used (to)
إِيَّانَا
iyyānāworship us
تَعْبُدُونَ
taʿbudūnaworship us
٢٨
(28)
And [mention, O Muḥammad], the Day We will gather them all together - then We will say to those who associated others with Allāh, "[Remain in] your place, you and your 'partners.'" Then We will separate them, and their "partners" will say, "You did not used to worship us,

فَكَفَىٰ
fakafāSo sufficient
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi(is) Allah
شَهِيدًۢا
shahīdan(as) a witness
بَيْنَنَا
baynanābetween us
وَبَيْنَكُمْ
wabaynakumand between you
إِن
inthat
كُنَّا
kunnāwe were
عَنْ
ʿanof
عِبَادَتِكُمْ
ʿibādatikumyour worship
لَغَـٰفِلِينَ
laghāfilīnacertainly unaware
٢٩
(29)
And sufficient is Allāh as a witness between us and you that we were of your worship unaware."

هُنَالِكَ
hunālikaThere
تَبْلُوا۟
tablūwill be put to trial
كُلُّ
kulluevery
نَفْسٍۢ
nafsinsoul
مَّآ
(for) what
أَسْلَفَتْ ۚ
aslafatit did previously
وَرُدُّوٓا۟
waruddūand they will be returned
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
مَوْلَىٰهُمُ
mawlāhumutheir Lord
ٱلْحَقِّ ۖ
l-ḥaqithe true
وَضَلَّ
waḍallaand will be lost
عَنْهُم
ʿanhumfrom them
مَّا
what
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey used (to)
يَفْتَرُونَ
yaftarūnainvent
٣٠
(30)
There, [on that Day], every soul will be put to trial for what it did previously, and they will be returned to Allāh, their master, the Truth, and lost from them is whatever they used to invent.

qulSay
مَن
manWho
يَرْزُقُكُم
yarzuqukumprovides for you
مِّنَ
minafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāithe sky
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍiand the earth
أَمَّن
ammanOr who
يَمْلِكُ
yamlikucontrols
ٱلسَّمْعَ
l-samʿathe hearing
وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ
wal-abṣāraand the sight
وَمَن
wamanAnd who
يُخْرِجُ
yukh'rijubrings out
ٱلْحَىَّ
l-ḥayathe living
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلْمَيِّتِ
l-mayitithe dead
وَيُخْرِجُ
wayukh'rijuand brings forth
ٱلْمَيِّتَ
l-mayitathe dead
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلْحَىِّ
l-ḥayithe living
وَمَن
wamanAnd who
يُدَبِّرُ
yudabbirudisposes
ٱلْأَمْرَ ۚ
l-amrathe affairs
فَسَيَقُولُونَ
fasayaqūlūnaThen they will say
ٱللَّهُ ۚ
l-lahuAllah
فَقُلْ
faqulThen say
أَفَلَا
afalāThen will not
تَتَّقُونَ
tattaqūnayou fear (Him)
٣١
(31)
Say, "Who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? Or who controls hearing and sight and who brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living and who arranges [every] matter?" They will say, "Allāh," so say, "Then will you not fear Him?"

فَذَٰلِكُمُ
fadhālikumuFor that
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu(is) Allah
رَبُّكُمُ
rabbukumuyour Lord
ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ
l-ḥaquthe true
فَمَاذَا
famādhāSo what (can be)
بَعْدَ
baʿdaafter
ٱلْحَقِّ
l-ḥaqithe truth
إِلَّا
illāexcept
ٱلضَّلَـٰلُ ۖ
l-ḍalāluthe error
فَأَنَّىٰ
fa-annāSo how
تُصْرَفُونَ
tuṣ'rafūna(are) you turned away
٣٢
(32)
For that is Allāh, your Lord, the Truth. And what can be beyond truth except error? So how are you averted?

كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālikaThus
حَقَّتْ
ḥaqqat(is) proved true
كَلِمَتُ
kalimatu(the) Word
رَبِّكَ
rabbika(of) your Lord
عَلَى
ʿalāupon
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
فَسَقُوٓا۟
fasaqūdefiantly disobeyed
أَنَّهُمْ
annahumthat they
لَا
(will) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūnabelieve
٣٣
(33)
Thus the word [i.e., decree] of your Lord has come into effect upon those who defiantly disobeyed - that they will not believe.

مَّن
man(any) who
يَبْدَؤُا۟
yabda-uoriginates
ٱلْخَلْقَ

ثُمَّ

يُعِيدُهُۥ ۚ
yuʿīduhurepeats it
قُلِ
quliSay
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah
يَبْدَؤُا۟
yabda-uoriginates
ٱلْخَلْقَ
l-khalqathe creation
ثُمَّ
thummathen
يُعِيدُهُۥ ۖ
yuʿīduhurepeats it
فَأَنَّىٰ
fa-annāSo how
تُؤْفَكُونَ
tu'fakūnayou are deluded
٣٤
(34)
Say, "Are there of your 'partners' any who begins creation and then repeats it?" Say, "Allāh begins creation and then repeats it, so how are you deluded?"

يَهْدِى

لِلْحَقِّ ۗ
lil'ḥaqqito the truth
أَفَمَن
afamanIs then (he) who
يَهْدِىٓ
yahdīguides
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱلْحَقِّ
l-ḥaqithe truth
أَحَقُّ
aḥaqqumore worthy
أَن
anthat
يُتَّبَعَ
yuttabaʿahe should be followed
أَمَّن
ammanor (he) who
لَّا
(does) not
يَهِدِّىٓ
yahiddīguide
إِلَّآ
illāunless
أَن
an[that]
يُهْدَىٰ ۖ
yuh'dāhe is guided
فَمَا
famāThen what
لَكُمْ
lakum(is) for you
كَيْفَ
kayfahow
تَحْكُمُونَ
taḥkumūnayou judge
٣٥
(35)
Say, "Are there of your 'partners' any who guides to the truth?" Say, "Allāh guides to the truth. So is He who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed or he who guides not unless he is guided? Then what is [wrong] with you - how do you judge?"

يَتَّبِعُ
yattabiʿufollow
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
aktharuhummost of them
إِلَّا
illāexcept
ظَنًّا ۚ
ẓannanassumption
إِنَّ

ٱلظَّنَّ
l-ẓanathe assumption
لَا
(does) not
يُغْنِى
yugh'nīavail
مِنَ
minaagainst
ٱلْحَقِّ
l-ḥaqithe truth
شَيْـًٔا ۚ
shayananything
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
عَلِيمٌۢ
ʿalīmun(is) All-Knower
بِمَا
bimāof what
يَفْعَلُونَ
yafʿalūnathey do
٣٦
(36)
And most of them follow not except assumption. Indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of what they do.

كَانَ

هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
ٱلْقُرْءَانُ
l-qur'ānuthe Quran
أَن
anthat
يُفْتَرَىٰ
yuf'tarā(it could be) produced
مِن
minby
دُونِ
dūniother than Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiother than Allah
وَلَـٰكِن
walākinbut
تَصْدِيقَ
taṣdīqa(it is) a confirmation
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(of that) which
بَيْنَ
bayna(was) before it
يَدَيْهِ
yadayhi(was) before it
وَتَفْصِيلَ
watafṣīlaand a detailed explanation
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābi(of) the Book
لَا
(there is) no
رَيْبَ
raybadoubt
فِيهِ
fīhiin it
مِن
minfrom
رَّبِّ
rabbi(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
٣٧
(37)
And it was not [possible] for this Qur’ān to be produced by other than Allāh, but [it is] a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of the [former] Scripture, about which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds.

ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖ
if'tarāhuHe has invented it
قُلْ
qulSay
فَأْتُوا۟
fatūThen bring
بِسُورَةٍۢ
bisūratina Surah
مِّثْلِهِۦ
mith'lihilike it
وَٱدْعُوا۟
wa-id'ʿūand call
مَنِ
maniwhoever
ٱسْتَطَعْتُم
is'taṭaʿtumyou can
مِّن
minbesides Allah
دُونِ
dūnibesides Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahibesides Allah
إِن
inif
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
ṣādiqīnatruthful
٣٨
(38)
Or do they say [about the Prophet (ﷺ)], "He invented it?" Say, "Then bring forth a sūrah like it and call upon [for assistance] whomever you can besides Allāh, if you should be truthful."

بِمَا

يُحِيطُوا۟
yuḥīṭūthey could encompass
بِعِلْمِهِۦ
biʿil'mihi(of) its knowledge
وَلَمَّا
walammāand not
يَأْتِهِمْ
yatihimhas come (to) them
تَأْوِيلُهُۥ ۚ
tawīluhuits interpretation
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālikaThus
كَذَّبَ
kadhabadenied
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose
مِن
minbefore them
قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ
qablihimbefore them
فَٱنظُرْ
fa-unẓurthen see
كَيْفَ
kayfahow
كَانَ
kānawas
عَـٰقِبَةُ
ʿāqibatu(the) end
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīna(of) the wrongdoers
٣٩
(39)
Rather, they have denied that which they encompass not in knowledge and whose interpretation has not yet come to them. Thus did those before them deny. Then observe how was the end of the wrongdoers.

man(is one) who
يُؤْمِنُ
yu'minubelieves
بِهِۦ
bihiin it
وَمِنْهُم
wamin'humand of them
مَّن
man(is one) who
لَّا
(does) not
يُؤْمِنُ
yu'minubelieve
بِهِۦ ۚ
bihiin it
وَرَبُّكَ
warabbukaAnd your Lord
أَعْلَمُ
aʿlamu(is) All-Knower
بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
bil-muf'sidīnaof the corrupters
٤٠
(40)
And of them are those who believe in it, and of them are those who do not believe in it. And your Lord is most knowing of the corrupters.

وَإِن
wa-inAnd if
كَذَّبُوكَ
kadhabūkathey deny you
فَقُل
faqulthen say
لِّى
For me
عَمَلِى
ʿamalī(are) my deeds
وَلَكُمْ
walakumand for you
عَمَلُكُمْ ۖ
ʿamalukum(are) your deeds
أَنتُم
antumYou
بَرِيٓـُٔونَ
barīūna(are) disassociated
مِمَّآ
mimmāfrom what
أَعْمَلُ
aʿmaluI do
وَأَنَا۠
wa-anāand I am
بَرِىٓءٌۭ
barīondisassociated
مِّمَّا
mimmāfrom what
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūnayou do
٤١
(41)
And if they deny you, [O Muḥammad], then say, "For me are my deeds, and for you are your deeds. You are disassociated from what I do, and I am disassociated from what you do."

وَمِنْهُم
wamin'humAnd among them
مَّن
man(are some) who
يَسْتَمِعُونَ
yastamiʿūnalisten
إِلَيْكَ ۚ
ilaykato you
أَفَأَنتَ
afa-antaBut (can) you
تُسْمِعُ
tus'miʿucause the deaf to hear
ٱلصُّمَّ
l-ṣumacause the deaf to hear
وَلَوْ
walaweven though
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey [were]
لَا
(do) not
يَعْقِلُونَ
yaʿqilūnause reason
٤٢
(42)
And among them are those who listen to you. But can you cause the deaf to hear [i.e., benefit from this hearing], although they will not use reason?

man(are some) who
يَنظُرُ

إِلَيْكَ ۚ

أَفَأَنتَ
afa-antaBut (can) you
تَهْدِى

ٱلْعُمْىَ
l-ʿum'yathe blind
وَلَوْ
walaweven though
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey [were]
لَا
(do) not
يُبْصِرُونَ
yub'ṣirūnasee
٤٣
(43)
And among them are those who look at you. But can you guide the blind although they will not [attempt to] see?

ٱللَّهَ

(does) not
يَظْلِمُ
yaẓlimuwrong
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsathe people
شَيْـًۭٔا
shayan(in) anything
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
walākinnabut
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsathe people
أَنفُسَهُمْ
anfusahumwrong themselves
يَظْلِمُونَ
yaẓlimūnawrong themselves
٤٤
(44)
Indeed, Allāh does not wrong the people at all, but it is the people who are wronging themselves.

وَيَوْمَ
wayawmaAnd the Day
يَحْشُرُهُمْ
yaḥshuruhumHe will gather them
كَأَن
ka-anas if
لَّمْ
lamthey had not remained
يَلْبَثُوٓا۟
yalbathūthey had not remained
إِلَّا
illāexcept
سَاعَةًۭ
sāʿatanan hour
مِّنَ
minaof
ٱلنَّهَارِ
l-nahārithe day
يَتَعَارَفُونَ
yataʿārafūnathey will recognize each other
بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ
baynahumbetween them
قَدْ
qadCertainly
خَسِرَ
khasira(will have) lost
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
كَذَّبُوا۟
kadhabūdenied
بِلِقَآءِ
biliqāithe meeting
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(with) Allah
وَمَا
wamāand not
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey were
مُهْتَدِينَ
muh'tadīnathe guided ones
٤٥
(45)
And on the Day when He will gather them, [it will be] as if they had not remained [in the world] but an hour of the day, [and] they will know each other. Those will have lost who denied the meeting with Allāh and were not guided.

وَإِمَّا
wa-immāAnd whether
نُرِيَنَّكَ
nuriyannakaWe show you
بَعْضَ
baʿḍasome
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(of) that which
نَعِدُهُمْ
naʿiduhumWe promised them
أَوْ
awor
نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ
natawaffayannakaWe cause you to die
فَإِلَيْنَا
fa-ilaynāthen to Us
مَرْجِعُهُمْ
marjiʿuhum(is) their return
ثُمَّ
thummathen
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah
شَهِيدٌ
shahīdun(is) a Witness
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāover
مَا
what
يَفْعَلُونَ
yafʿalūnathey do
٤٦
(46)
And whether We show you some of what We promise them, [O Muḥammad], or We take you in death, to Us is their return; then, [either way], Allāh is a witness concerning what they are doing.

وَلِكُلِّ
walikulliAnd for every
أُمَّةٍۢ
ummatinnation
رَّسُولٌۭ ۖ
rasūlun(is) a Messenger
فَإِذَا
fa-idhāSo when
جَآءَ
jāacomes
رَسُولُهُمْ
rasūluhumtheir Messenger
قُضِىَ
quḍiyait will be judged
بَيْنَهُم
baynahumbetween them
بِٱلْقِسْطِ
bil-qis'ṭiin justice
وَهُمْ
wahumand they
لَا
(will) not
يُظْلَمُونَ
yuẓ'lamūnabe wronged
٤٧
(47)
And for every nation is a messenger. So when their messenger comes, it will be judged between them in justice, and they will not be wronged.

وَيَقُولُونَ
wayaqūlūnaAnd they say
مَتَىٰ
matāWhen
هَـٰذَا
hādhā(will) this
ٱلْوَعْدُ
l-waʿduthe promise (be fulfilled)
إِن

كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
ṣādiqīnatruthful
٤٨
(48)
And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?"

لَّآ
Not
أَمْلِكُ
amlikuI have power
لِنَفْسِى
linafsīfor myself
ضَرًّۭا
ḍarran(for) any harm
وَلَا
walāand not
نَفْعًا
nafʿan(for) any profit
إِلَّا
illāexcept
مَا
what
شَآءَ
shāaAllah wills
ٱللَّهُ ۗ
l-lahuAllah wills
لِكُلِّ
likulliFor every
أُمَّةٍ
ummatinnation
أَجَلٌ ۚ
ajalun(is) a term
إِذَا
idhāWhen
جَآءَ
jāacomes
أَجَلُهُمْ
ajaluhumtheir term
فَلَا
falāthen not
يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
yastakhirūnathey remain behind
سَاعَةًۭ ۖ
sāʿatanan hour
وَلَا
walāand not
يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ
yastaqdimūnathey can precede (it)
٤٩
(49)
Say, "I possess not for myself any harm or benefit except what Allāh should will. For every nation is a [specified] term. When their time has come, then they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it]."

أَرَءَيْتُمْ
ara-aytumDo you see
إِنْ

أَتَىٰكُمْ
atākumcomes to you
عَذَابُهُۥ
ʿadhābuhuHis punishment
بَيَـٰتًا
bayātan(by) night
أَوْ
awor
نَهَارًۭا
nahāran(by) day
مَّاذَا
mādhāwhat (portion)
يَسْتَعْجِلُ
yastaʿjiluof it would (wish to) hasten
مِنْهُ
min'huof it would (wish to) hasten
ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
l-muj'rimūnathe criminals
٥٠
(50)
Say, "Have you considered: if His punishment should come to you by night or by day - for which [aspect] of it would the criminals be impatient?"

athummaIs (it) then

مَا

وَقَعَ
waqaʿa(it had) occurred
ءَامَنتُم
āmantumyou (will) believe
بِهِۦٓ ۚ

ءَآلْـَٔـٰنَ
āl'ānaNow
وَقَدْ
waqadAnd certainly
كُنتُم
kuntumyou were
بِهِۦ
bihiseeking to hasten it
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
tastaʿjilūnaseeking to hasten it

(51)
Then is it that when it has [actually] occurred you will believe in it? Now? And you were [once] for it impatient.

لِلَّذِينَ

ذُوقُوا۟

عَذَابَ

ٱلْخُلْدِ
l-khul'dithe everlasting
هَلْ
halAre you (being) recompensed
تُجْزَوْنَ
tuj'zawnaAre you (being) recompensed
إِلَّا
illāexcept
بِمَا
bimāfor what
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou used (to)
تَكْسِبُونَ
taksibūnaearn
٥٢
(52)
Then it will be said to those who had wronged, "Taste the punishment of eternity; are you being recompensed except for what you used to earn?"

۞ وَيَسْتَنۢبِـُٔونَكَ
wayastanbiūnakaAnd they ask you to inform
أَحَقٌّ
aḥaqqunIs it true
هُوَ ۖ
huwaIs it true
قُلْ
qulSay
إِى
īYes
وَرَبِّىٓ
warabbīby my Lord
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, it
لَحَقٌّۭ ۖ
laḥaqqun(is) surely the truth
وَمَآ
wamāand not
أَنتُم
antumyou
بِمُعْجِزِينَ
bimuʿ'jizīna(can) escape (it)
٥٣
(53)
And they ask information of you, [O Muḥammad], "Is it true?" Say, "Yes, by my Lord. Indeed, it is truth; and you will not cause failure [to Allāh]."

walawAnd if
أَنَّ
annathat
لِكُلِّ
likullifor every
نَفْسٍۢ
nafsinsoul
ظَلَمَتْ
ẓalamat(that) wronged
مَا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
لَٱفْتَدَتْ
la-if'tadatit (would) seek to ransom
بِهِۦ ۗ
bihiwith it
وَأَسَرُّوا۟
wa-asarrūand they (will) confide
ٱلنَّدَامَةَ
l-nadāmatathe regret
لَمَّا
lammāwhen
رَأَوُا۟
ra-awūthey see
ٱلْعَذَابَ ۖ
l-ʿadhābathe punishment
وَقُضِىَ
waquḍiyaBut will be judged
بَيْنَهُم
baynahumbetween them
بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۚ
bil-qis'ṭiin justice
وَهُمْ
wahumand they
لَا
(will) not
يُظْلَمُونَ
yuẓ'lamūna(be) wronged
٥٤
(54)
And if each soul that wronged had everything on earth, it would offer it in ransom. And they will confide regret when they see the punishment; and they will be judged in justice, and they will not be wronged.

أَلَآ
alāNo doubt
إِنَّ
innaindeed
لِلَّهِ
lillahifor Allah
مَا
(is) whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ
wal-arḍiand the earth
أَلَآ
alāNo doubt
إِنَّ
innaindeed
وَعْدَ
waʿda(the) Promise of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(the) Promise of Allah
حَقٌّۭ
ḥaqqun(is) true
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
walākinnaBut
أَكْثَرَهُمْ
aktharahummost of them
لَا
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūnaknow
٥٥
(55)
Unquestionably, to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. Unquestionably, the promise of Allāh is truth, but most of them do not know.

يُحْىِۦ
yuḥ'yīgives life
وَيُمِيتُ
wayumītuand causes death
وَإِلَيْهِ
wa-ilayhiand to Him
تُرْجَعُونَ
tur'jaʿūnayou will be returned

(56)
He gives life and causes death, and to Him you will be returned.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhāO mankind
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsuO mankind
قَدْ
qadVerily
جَآءَتْكُم
jāatkumhas come to you
مَّوْعِظَةٌۭ
mawʿiẓatunan instruction
مِّن
minfrom
رَّبِّكُمْ
rabbikumyour Lord
وَشِفَآءٌۭ
washifāonand a healing
لِّمَا
limāfor what
فِى
(is) in
ٱلصُّدُورِ
l-ṣudūriyour breasts
وَهُدًۭى
wahudanand guidance
وَرَحْمَةٌۭ
waraḥmatunand mercy
لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
lil'mu'minīnafor the believers
٥٧
(57)
O mankind, there has come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers.

بِفَضْلِ
bifaḍliIn the Bounty
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
وَبِرَحْمَتِهِۦ
wabiraḥmatihiand in His Mercy
فَبِذَٰلِكَ
fabidhālikaso in that
فَلْيَفْرَحُوا۟
falyafraḥūlet them rejoice
هُوَ
huwaIt
خَيْرٌۭ
khayrun(is) better
مِّمَّا
mimmāthan what
يَجْمَعُونَ
yajmaʿūnathey accumulate
٥٨
(58)
Say, "In the bounty of Allāh and in His mercy - in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate."

أَرَءَيْتُم

أَنزَلَ

ٱللَّهُ

لَكُم

riz'qin(the) provision
فَجَعَلْتُم
fajaʿaltumand you have made
مِّنْهُ
min'huof it
حَرَامًۭا
ḥarāmanunlawful
وَحَلَـٰلًۭا
waḥalālanand lawful
قُلْ
qulSay
ءَآللَّهُ
āllahuHas Allah
أَذِنَ
adhinapermitted
لَكُمْ ۖ
lakum[to] you
أَمْ
amor
عَلَى
ʿalāabout
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
تَفْتَرُونَ
taftarūnayou invent (lies)
٥٩
(59)
Say, "Have you seen what Allāh has sent down to you of provision of which you have made [some] lawful and [some] unlawful?" Say, "Has Allāh permitted you [to do so], or do you invent [something] about Allāh?"

ẓannu(will be the) assumption
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna(of) those who
يَفْتَرُونَ
yaftarūnainvent
عَلَى
ʿalāagainst
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
ٱلْكَذِبَ
l-kadhibathe lie
يَوْمَ
yawma(on) the Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗ
l-qiyāmati(of) the Judgment
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
لَذُو
ladhū(is) surely Full (of) Bounty
فَضْلٍ
faḍlin(is) surely Full (of) Bounty
عَلَى
ʿalāto
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsithe mankind
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
walākinnabut
أَكْثَرَهُمْ
aktharahummost of them
لَا
(are) not
يَشْكُرُونَ
yashkurūnagrateful
٦٠
(60)
And what will be the supposition of those who invent falsehood about Allāh on the Day of Resurrection? Indeed, Allāh is the possessor of bounty for the people, but most of them are not grateful.

قُرْءَانٍۢ
qur'ānin(the) Quran
وَلَا
walāand not
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūnayou do
مِنْ
minany
عَمَلٍ
ʿamalindeed
إِلَّا
illāexcept
كُنَّا
kunnāWe are
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykumover you
شُهُودًا
shuhūdanwitnesses
إِذْ
idhwhen
تُفِيضُونَ
tufīḍūnayou are engaged
فِيهِ ۚ
fīhiin it
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
يَعْزُبُ
yaʿzubuescapes
عَن
ʿanfrom
رَّبِّكَ
rabbikayour Lord
مِن
minof
مِّثْقَالِ
mith'qāli(the) weight
ذَرَّةٍۢ
dharratin(of) an atom
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
وَلَا
walāand not
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāithe heavens
وَلَآ
walāand not
أَصْغَرَ
aṣgharasmaller
مِن
minthan
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
وَلَآ
walāand not
أَكْبَرَ
akbaragreater
إِلَّا
illābut
فِى
(is) in
كِتَـٰبٍۢ
kitābina Record
مُّبِينٍ
mubīninclear
٦١
(61)
And, [O Muḥammad], you are not [engaged] in any matter and do not recite any of the Qur’ān and you [people] do not do any deed except that We are witness over you when you are involved in it. And not absent from your Lord is any [part] of an atom's weight within the earth or within the heaven or [anything] smaller than that or greater but that it is in a clear register.

إِنَّ

أَوْلِيَآءَ
awliyāa(the) friends
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
لَا
(there will be) no
خَوْفٌ
khawfunfear
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhimupon then
وَلَا
walāand not
هُمْ
humthey
يَحْزَنُونَ
yaḥzanūnawill grieve
٦٢
(62)
Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allāh there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve -

ءَامَنُوا۟

وَكَانُوا۟
wakānūand are
يَتَّقُونَ
yattaqūnaconscious (of Allah)

(63)
Those who believed and were fearing Allāh.

lahumuFor them
ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ
l-bush'rā(are) the glad tidings
فِى
in
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
l-ḥayatithe life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā(of) the world
وَفِى
wafīand in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚ
l-ākhiratithe Hereafter
لَا
No
تَبْدِيلَ
tabdīlachange
لِكَلِمَـٰتِ
likalimāti(is there) in the Words
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahi(of) Allah
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikaThat
هُوَ
huwais
ٱلْفَوْزُ
l-fawzuthe success
ٱلْعَظِيمُ
l-ʿaẓīmuthe great
٦٤
(64)
For them are good tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. No change is there in the words [i.e., decrees] of Allāh. That is what is the great attainment.

وَلَا
walāAnd (let) not
يَحْزُنكَ
yaḥzunkagrieve you
قَوْلُهُمْ ۘ
qawluhumtheir speech
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلْعِزَّةَ
l-ʿizatathe honor
لِلَّهِ
lillahi(belongs) to Allah
جَمِيعًا ۚ
jamīʿanall
هُوَ
huwaHe
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
l-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
l-ʿalīmuthe All-Knower
٦٥
(65)
And let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, honor [due to power] belongs to Allāh entirely. He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

لِلَّهِ

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

فِى
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ
l-arḍithe earth
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
يَتَّبِعُ
yattabiʿufollow
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
يَدْعُونَ
yadʿūnainvoke
مِن
minother than Allah
دُونِ
dūniother than Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiother than Allah
شُرَكَآءَ ۚ
shurakāapartners
إِن
inNot
يَتَّبِعُونَ
yattabiʿūnathey follow
إِلَّا
illābut
ٱلظَّنَّ
l-ẓanathe assumption
وَإِنْ
wa-inand not
هُمْ
humthey
إِلَّا
illābut
يَخْرُصُونَ
yakhruṣūnaguess
٦٦
(66)
Unquestionably, to Allāh belongs whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth. And those who invoke other than Allāh do not [actually] follow [His] "partners." They follow not except assumption, and they are not but misjudging.

جَعَلَ
jaʿalamade
لَكُمُ

ٱلَّيْلَ
al-laylathe night
لِتَسْكُنُوا۟
litaskunūthat you may rest
فِيهِ
fīhiin it
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
wal-nahāraand the day
مُبْصِرًا ۚ
mub'ṣirangiving visibility
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ
laāyātinsurely (are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢ
liqawminfor a people
يَسْمَعُونَ
yasmaʿūna(who) listen
٦٧
(67)
It is He who made for you the night to rest therein and the day, giving sight. Indeed in that are signs for a people who listen.

ٱتَّخَذَ
ittakhadhaAllah has taken
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah has taken
وَلَدًۭا ۗ
waladana son
سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ ۖ
sub'ḥānahuGlory be to Him
هُوَ
huwaHe
ٱلْغَنِىُّ ۖ
l-ghaniyu(is) the Self-sufficient
لَهُۥ
lahuTo Him (belongs)
مَا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَمَا
wamāand whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ
l-arḍithe earth
إِنْ
inNot
عِندَكُم
ʿindakumyou have
مِّن
minany
سُلْطَـٰنٍۭ
sul'ṭāninauthority
بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ
bihādhāfor this
أَتَقُولُونَ
ataqūlūnaDo you say
عَلَى
ʿalāabout
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
مَا
what
لَا
not
تَعْلَمُونَ
taʿlamūnayou know
٦٨
(68)
They have said, "Allāh has taken a son." Exalted is He; He is the [one] Free of need. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. You have no authority for this [claim]. Do you say about Allāh that which you do not know?

they will not succeed
يُفْلِحُونَ
yuf'liḥūnathey will not succeed
٦٩
(69)
Say, "Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allāh will not succeed."

matāʿunAn enjoyment
فِى
in
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yāthe world
ثُمَّ
thummathen
إِلَيْنَا
ilaynāto Us
مَرْجِعُهُمْ
marjiʿuhum(is) their return
ثُمَّ
thummathen
نُذِيقُهُمُ
nudhīquhumuWe will make them taste
ٱلْعَذَابَ
l-ʿadhābathe punishment
ٱلشَّدِيدَ
l-shadīdathe severe
بِمَا
bimābecause
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey used to
يَكْفُرُونَ
yakfurūnadisbelieve
٧٠
(70)
[For them is brief] enjoyment in this world; then to Us is their return; then We will make them taste the severe punishment because they used to disbelieve.

wa-ut'luAnd recite
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhimto them
نَبَأَ

نُوحٍ
nūḥin(of) Nuh
إِذْ
idhwhen
قَالَ
qālahe said
لِقَوْمِهِۦ
liqawmihito his people
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmiO my people
إِن
inIf
كَانَ
kānais
كَبُرَ
kaburahard
عَلَيْكُم
ʿalaykumon you
مَّقَامِى
maqāmīmy stay
وَتَذْكِيرِى
watadhkīrīand my reminding
بِـَٔايَـٰتِ
biāyātithe Signs of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahithe Signs of Allah
فَعَلَى
faʿalāthen on
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
تَوَكَّلْتُ
tawakkaltuI put my trust
فَأَجْمِعُوٓا۟
fa-ajmiʿūSo you all resolve
أَمْرَكُمْ
amrakumyour plan
وَشُرَكَآءَكُمْ
washurakāakumand your partners
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
لَا
let not be
يَكُنْ
yakunlet not be
أَمْرُكُمْ
amrukum(in) your plan
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykumfor you
غُمَّةًۭ
ghummatanany doubt
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
ٱقْضُوٓا۟
iq'ḍūcarry (it out)
إِلَىَّ
ilayyaupon me
وَلَا
walāand (do) not
تُنظِرُونِ
tunẓirūnigive me respite
٧١
(71)
And recite to them the news of Noah, when he said to his people, "O my people, if my residence and my reminding of the signs of Allāh has become burdensome upon you - then I have relied upon Allāh. So resolve upon your plan and [call upon] your associates. Then let not your plan be obscure to you. Then carry it out upon me and do not give me respite.

تَوَلَّيْتُمْ
tawallaytumyou turn away
فَمَا

سَأَلْتُكُم
sa-altukumI have asked you
مِّنْ
minany
أَجْرٍ ۖ

إِنْ
inNot
أَجْرِىَ
ajriya(is) my reward
إِلَّا
illābut
عَلَى
ʿalāon
ٱللَّهِ ۖ
l-lahiAllah
وَأُمِرْتُ
wa-umir'tuand I have been commanded
أَنْ
anthat
أَكُونَ
akūnaI be
مِنَ
minaof
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
l-mus'limīnathe Muslims
٧٢
(72)
And if you turn away [from my advice] - then no payment have I asked of you. My reward is only from Allāh, and I have been commanded to be of the Muslims [i.e., those who submit to Allāh]."

فَكَذَّبُوهُ
fakadhabūhuBut they denied him
فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ
fanajjaynāhuso We saved him
وَمَن
wamanand (those) who
مَّعَهُۥ
maʿahu(were) with him
فِى
in
ٱلْفُلْكِ
l-ful'kithe ship
وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ
wajaʿalnāhumand We made them
خَلَـٰٓئِفَ
khalāifasuccessors
وَأَغْرَقْنَا
wa-aghraqnāand We drowned
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
كَذَّبُوا۟
kadhabūdenied
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا ۖ
biāyātināOur Signs
فَٱنظُرْ
fa-unẓurThen see
كَيْفَ
kayfahow
كَانَ
kānawas
عَـٰقِبَةُ
ʿāqibatu(the) end
ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
l-mundharīna(of) those who were warned
٧٣
(73)
And they denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ship and made them successors, and We drowned those who denied Our signs. Then see how was the end of those who were warned.

بَعْدِهِۦ

رُسُلًا
rusulanMessengers
إِلَىٰ

قَوْمِهِمْ
qawmihimtheir people
فَجَآءُوهُم
fajāūhumand they came to them
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ
bil-bayinātiwith clear proofs
فَمَا
famāBut not
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey were
لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟
liyu'minūto believe
بِمَا
bimāwhat
كَذَّبُوا۟
kadhabūthey had denied
بِهِۦ
bihi[it]
مِن
minbefore
قَبْلُ ۚ
qablubefore
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālikaThus
نَطْبَعُ
naṭbaʿuWe seal
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā[on]
قُلُوبِ
qulūbithe hearts
ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ
l-muʿ'tadīna(of) the transgressors
٧٤
(74)
Then We sent after him messengers to their peoples, and they came to them with clear proofs. But they were not to believe in that which they had denied before. Thus We seal over the hearts of the transgressors.

بَعْدِهِم

مُّوسَىٰ
mūsāMusa
وَهَـٰرُونَ
wahārūnaand Harun
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawnaFiraun
وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ
wamala-ihiand his chiefs
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
biāyātināwith Our Signs
فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟
fa-is'takbarūbut they were arrogant
وَكَانُوا۟
wakānūand were
قَوْمًۭا
qawmana people
مُّجْرِمِينَ
muj'rimīnacriminal
٧٥
(75)
Then We sent after them Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his establishment with Our signs, but they behaved arrogantly and were a criminal people.

فَلَمَّا
falammāSo when
جَآءَهُمُ
jāahumucame to them
ٱلْحَقُّ
l-ḥaquthe truth
مِنْ
minfrom Us
عِندِنَا
ʿindināfrom Us
قَالُوٓا۟
qālūthey said
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
لَسِحْرٌۭ
lasiḥ'run(is) surely, a magic
مُّبِينٌۭ
mubīnunclear
٧٦
(76)
So when there came to them the truth from Us, they said, "Indeed, this is obvious magic."

مُوسَىٰٓ
mūsāMusa said
أَتَقُولُونَ
ataqūlūnaDo you say
لِلْحَقِّ
lil'ḥaqqiabout the truth
لَمَّا
lammāwhen
جَآءَكُمْ ۖ
jāakumit has come to you
أَسِحْرٌ
asiḥ'runIs this magic
هَـٰذَا
hādhāIs this magic
وَلَا
walāBut (will) not
يُفْلِحُ
yuf'liḥusucceed
ٱلسَّـٰحِرُونَ
l-sāḥirūnathe magicians
٧٧
(77)
Moses said, "Do you say [thus] about the truth when it has come to you? Is this magic? But magicians will not succeed."

قَالُوٓا۟
qālūThey said
أَجِئْتَنَا
aji'tanāHave you come to us
لِتَلْفِتَنَا
litalfitanāto turn us away
عَمَّا
ʿammāfrom that
وَجَدْنَا
wajadnāwe found
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhion it
ءَابَآءَنَا
ābāanāour forefathers
وَتَكُونَ
watakūnaand you two (may) have
لَكُمَا
lakumāand you two (may) have
ٱلْكِبْرِيَآءُ
l-kib'riyāuthe greatness
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe land
وَمَا
wamāAnd we (are) not
نَحْنُ
naḥnuAnd we (are) not
لَكُمَا
lakumā(in) you two
بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
bimu'minīnabelievers
٧٨
(78)
They said, "Have you come to us to turn us away from that upon which we found our fathers and so that you two may have grandeur in the land? And we are not believers in you."

وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd Firaun said
فِرْعَوْنُ
fir'ʿawnuAnd Firaun said
ٱئْتُونِى
i'tūnīBring to me
بِكُلِّ
bikullievery
سَـٰحِرٍ
sāḥirinmagician
عَلِيمٍۢ
ʿalīminlearned
٧٩
(79)
And Pharaoh said, "Bring to me every learned magician."

فَلَمَّا
falammāSo when
جَآءَ
jāacame
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ
l-saḥaratuthe magicians
قَالَ
qālasaid
لَهُم
lahumto them
مُّوسَىٰٓ
mūsāMusa
أَلْقُوا۟
alqūThrow
مَآ
whatever
أَنتُم
antumyou
مُّلْقُونَ
mul'qūna(wish to) throw
٨٠
(80)
So when the magicians came, Moses said to them, "Throw down whatever you will throw."

فَلَمَّآ
falammāThen when
أَلْقَوْا۟
alqawthey (had) thrown
قَالَ
qālaMusa said
مُوسَىٰ
mūsāMusa said
مَا
What
جِئْتُم
ji'tumyou have brought
بِهِ
bihi[it]
ٱلسِّحْرُ ۖ
l-siḥ'ru(is) the magic
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
سَيُبْطِلُهُۥٓ ۖ
sayub'ṭiluhuwill nullify it
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
لَا
(does) not
يُصْلِحُ
yuṣ'liḥuamend
عَمَلَ
ʿamalathe work
ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
l-muf'sidīna(of) the corrupters
٨١
(81)
And when they had thrown, Moses said, "What you have brought is [only] magic. Indeed, Allāh will expose its worthlessness. Indeed, Allāh does not amend the work of corrupters.

وَيُحِقُّ
wayuḥiqquAnd Allah will establish
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAnd Allah will establish
ٱلْحَقَّ
l-ḥaqathe truth
بِكَلِمَـٰتِهِۦ
bikalimātihiby His words
وَلَوْ
walaweven if
كَرِهَ
karihadislike it
ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
l-muj'rimūnathe criminals
٨٢
(82)
And Allāh will establish the truth by His words, even if the criminals dislike it."

فَمَآ
famāBut none
ءَامَنَ
āmanabelieved
لِمُوسَىٰٓ
limūsāMusa
إِلَّا
illāexcept
ذُرِّيَّةٌۭ
dhurriyyatun(the) offspring
مِّن
minamong
قَوْمِهِۦ
qawmihihis people
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāfor
خَوْفٍۢ
khawfinfear
مِّن
minof
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawnaFiraun
وَمَلَإِي۟هِمْ
wamala-ihimand their chiefs
أَن
anlest
يَفْتِنَهُمْ ۚ
yaftinahumthey persecute them
وَإِنَّ
wa-innaAnd indeed
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawnaFiraun
لَعَالٍۢ
laʿālin(was) a tyrant
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
وَإِنَّهُۥ
wa-innahuand indeed, he
لَمِنَ
lamina(was) of
ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
l-mus'rifīnathe ones who commit excesses
٨٣
(83)
But no one believed Moses, except [some] offspring [i.e., youths] among his people, for fear of Pharaoh and his establishment that they would persecute them. And indeed, Pharaoh was haughty within the land, and indeed, he was of the transgressors.

وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd Musa said
مُوسَىٰ
mūsāAnd Musa said
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmiO my people
إِن
inIf
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou have
ءَامَنتُم
āmantumbelieved
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahiin Allah
فَعَلَيْهِ
faʿalayhithen on Him
تَوَكَّلُوٓا۟
tawakkalūput your trust
إِن
inif
كُنتُم
kuntumyou are
مُّسْلِمِينَ
mus'limīnaMuslims
٨٤
(84)
And Moses said, "O my people, if you have believed in Allāh, then rely upon Him, if you should be Muslims [i.e., submitting to Him]."

فَقَالُوا۟
faqālūThen they said
عَلَى
ʿalāUpon
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
تَوَكَّلْنَا
tawakkalnāwe put our trust
رَبَّنَا
rabbanāOur Lord
لَا
(Do) not
تَجْعَلْنَا
tajʿalnāmake us
فِتْنَةًۭ
fit'natana trial
لِّلْقَوْمِ
lil'qawmifor the people
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
٨٥
(85)
So they said, "Upon Allāh do we rely. Our Lord, make us not [objects of] trial for the wrongdoing people

وَنَجِّنَا
wanajjināAnd save us
بِرَحْمَتِكَ
biraḥmatikaby Your Mercy
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلْقَوْمِ
l-qawmithe people
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
٨٦
(86)
And save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people."

وَأَوْحَيْنَآ
wa-awḥaynāAnd We inspired
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
مُوسَىٰ
mūsāMusa
وَأَخِيهِ
wa-akhīhiand his brother
أَن
anthat
تَبَوَّءَا
tabawwaāSettle
لِقَوْمِكُمَا
liqawmikumāyour people
بِمِصْرَ
bimiṣ'rain Egypt
بُيُوتًۭا
buyūtan(in) houses
وَٱجْعَلُوا۟
wa-ij'ʿalūand make
بُيُوتَكُمْ
buyūtakumyour houses
قِبْلَةًۭ
qib'latan(as) places of worship
وَأَقِيمُوا۟
wa-aqīmūand establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۗ
l-ṣalatathe prayer
وَبَشِّرِ
wabashiriAnd give glad tidings
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīna(to) the believers
٨٧
(87)
And We inspired to Moses and his brother, "Settle your people in Egypt in houses and make your houses [facing the] qiblah and establish prayer and give good tidings to the believers."

وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd Musa said
مُوسَىٰ
mūsāAnd Musa said
رَبَّنَآ
rabbanāOur Lord
إِنَّكَ
innakaIndeed, You
ءَاتَيْتَ
ātaytahave given
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawnaFiraun
وَمَلَأَهُۥ
wamala-ahuand his chiefs
زِينَةًۭ
zīnatansplendor
وَأَمْوَٰلًۭا
wa-amwālanand wealth
فِى
in
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
l-ḥayatithe life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā(of) the world
رَبَّنَا
rabbanāOur Lord
لِيُضِلُّوا۟
liyuḍillūThat they may lead astray
عَن
ʿanfrom
سَبِيلِكَ ۖ
sabīlikaYour way
رَبَّنَا
rabbanāOur Lord
ٱطْمِسْ
iṭ'misDestroy
عَلَىٰٓ
ʿalā[on]
أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ
amwālihimtheir wealth
وَٱشْدُدْ
wa-ush'dudand harden
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā[on]
قُلُوبِهِمْ
qulūbihimtheir hearts
فَلَا
falāso (that) not
يُؤْمِنُوا۟
yu'minūthey believe
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattāuntil
يَرَوُا۟
yarawūthey see
ٱلْعَذَابَ
l-ʿadhābathe punishment
ٱلْأَلِيمَ
l-alīmathe painful
٨٨
(88)
And Moses said, "Our Lord, indeed You have given Pharaoh and his establishment splendor and wealth in the worldly life, our Lord, that they may lead [men] astray from Your way. Our Lord, obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment."

قَدْ
qadVerily
أُجِيبَت
ujībathas been answered
دَّعْوَتُكُمَا
daʿwatukumā(the) invocation of both of you
فَٱسْتَقِيمَا
fa-is'taqīmāSo you two (keep to the) straight way
وَلَا
walāAnd (do) not
تَتَّبِعَآنِّ
tattabiʿānnifollow
سَبِيلَ
sabīla(the) way
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna(of) those who
لَا
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūnaknow
٨٩
(89)
[Allāh] said, "Your supplication has been answered." So remain on a right course and follow not the way of those who do not know."

۞ وَجَـٰوَزْنَا
wajāwaznāAnd We took across
بِبَنِىٓ
bibanī(the) Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla(of) Israel
ٱلْبَحْرَ
l-baḥrathe sea
فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ
fa-atbaʿahumand followed them
فِرْعَوْنُ
fir'ʿawnuFiraun
وَجُنُودُهُۥ
wajunūduhuand his hosts
بَغْيًۭا
baghyan(in) rebellion
وَعَدْوًا ۖ
waʿadwanand enmity
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattāuntil
إِذَآ
idhāwhen
أَدْرَكَهُ
adrakahuovertook him
ٱلْغَرَقُ
l-gharaquthe drowning
قَالَ
qālahe said
ءَامَنتُ
āmantuI believe
أَنَّهُۥ
annahuthat
لَآ
(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَ
ilāhagod
إِلَّا
illāexcept
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhīthe One
ءَامَنَتْ
āmanatin Whom believe
بِهِۦ
bihiin Whom believe
بَنُوٓا۟
banūthe Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīlathe Children of Israel
وَأَنَا۠
wa-anāand I am
مِنَ
minaof
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
l-mus'limīnathe Muslims
٩٠
(90)
And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, "I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims."

ءَآلْـَٔـٰنَ
āl'ānaNow
وَقَدْ
waqadAnd verily
عَصَيْتَ
ʿaṣaytayou (had) disobeyed
قَبْلُ
qablubefore
وَكُنتَ
wakuntaand you were
مِنَ
minaof
ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
l-muf'sidīnathe corrupters
٩١
(91)
Now? And you had disobeyed [Him] before and were of the corrupters?

فَٱلْيَوْمَ
fal-yawmaSo today
نُنَجِّيكَ
nunajjīkaWe will save you
بِبَدَنِكَ
bibadanikain your body
لِتَكُونَ
litakūnathat you may be
لِمَنْ
limanfor (those) who
خَلْفَكَ
khalfakasucceed you
ءَايَةًۭ ۚ
āyatana sign
وَإِنَّ
wa-innaAnd indeed
كَثِيرًۭا
kathīranmany
مِّنَ
minaamong
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsithe mankind
عَنْ
ʿanof
ءَايَـٰتِنَا
āyātināOur Signs
لَغَـٰفِلُونَ
laghāfilūna(are) surely heedless
٩٢
(92)
So today We will save you in body that you may be to those who succeed you a sign. And indeed, many among the people, of Our signs, are heedless.

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd verily
بَوَّأْنَا
bawwanāWe settled
بَنِىٓ
banī(the) Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla(of) Israel
مُبَوَّأَ
mubawwa-a(in) a settlement
صِدْقٍۢ
ṣid'qinhonorable
وَرَزَقْنَـٰهُم
warazaqnāhumand We provided them
مِّنَ
minawith
ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ
l-ṭayibātithe good things
فَمَا
famāand not
ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟
ikh'talafūthey differ
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattāuntil
جَآءَهُمُ
jāahumucame to them
ٱلْعِلْمُ ۚ
l-ʿil'muthe knowledge
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbakayour Lord
يَقْضِى
yaqḍīwill judge
بَيْنَهُمْ
baynahumbetween them
يَوْمَ
yawma(on) the Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
فِيمَا
fīmāconcerning what
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey used (to)
فِيهِ
fīhi[in it]
يَخْتَلِفُونَ
yakhtalifūnadiffer
٩٣
(93)
And We had certainly settled the Children of Israel in an agreeable settlement and provided them with good things. And they did not differ until [after] knowledge had come to them. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

شَكٍّۢ
shakkindoubt
مِّمَّآ
mimmāof what
أَنزَلْنَآ
anzalnāWe have revealed
إِلَيْكَ
ilaykato you
فَسْـَٔلِ
fasalithen ask
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
يَقْرَءُونَ
yaqraūna(have been) reading
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ
l-kitābathe Book
مِن
minbefore you
قَبْلِكَ ۚ
qablikabefore you
لَقَدْ
laqadVerily
جَآءَكَ
jāakahas come to you
ٱلْحَقُّ
l-ḥaquthe truth
مِن
minfrom
رَّبِّكَ
rabbikayour Lord
فَلَا
falāso (do) not
تَكُونَنَّ
takūnannabe
مِنَ
minaamong
ٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ
l-mum'tarīnathe doubters
٩٤
(94)
So if you are in doubt, [O Muḥammad], about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters.

وَلَا

تَكُونَنَّ

مِنَ

ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
كَذَّبُوا۟
kadhabūdeny
بِـَٔايَـٰتِ
biāyāti(the) Signs of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(the) Signs of Allah
فَتَكُونَ
fatakūnathen you will be
مِنَ
minaamong
ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ
l-khāsirīnathe losers
٩٥
(95)
And never be of those who deny the signs of Allāh and [thus] be among the losers.

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose [whom]
حَقَّتْ
ḥaqqathas become due
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhimon them
كَلِمَتُ
kalimatu(the) Word
رَبِّكَ
rabbika(of) your Lord
لَا
will not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūnabelieve
٩٦
(96)
Indeed, those upon whom the word [i.e., decree] of your Lord has come into effect will not believe,

walawEven if
جَآءَتْهُمْ
jāathumcomes to them
كُلُّ
kulluevery
ءَايَةٍ
āyatinSign
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattāuntil
يَرَوُا۟
yarawūthey see
ٱلْعَذَابَ
l-ʿadhābathe punishment
ٱلْأَلِيمَ
l-alīmathe painful
٩٧
(97)
Even if every sign should come to them, until they see the painful punishment.

falawlāSo why not
كَانَتْ
kānatwas
قَرْيَةٌ
qaryatunany town
ءَامَنَتْ
āmanatthat believed
فَنَفَعَهَآ
fanafaʿahāand benefited it
إِيمَـٰنُهَآ
īmānuhāits faith
إِلَّا
illāexcept
قَوْمَ
qawmathe people
يُونُسَ
yūnusa(of) Yunus
لَمَّآ
lammāWhen
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūthey believed
كَشَفْنَا
kashafnāWe removed
عَنْهُمْ
ʿanhumfrom them
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba(the) punishment
ٱلْخِزْىِ
l-khiz'yi(of) the disgrace
فِى
in
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
l-ḥayatithe life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yāof the world
وَمَتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ
wamattaʿnāhumand We granted them enjoyment
إِلَىٰ
ilāfor
حِينٍۢ
ḥīnina time
٩٨
(98)
Then has there not been a [single] city that believed so its faith benefited it except the people of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in worldly life and gave them enjoyment [i.e., provision] for a time.

وَلَوْ
walawAnd if
شَآءَ
shāa(had) willed
رَبُّكَ
rabbukayour Lord
لَـَٔامَنَ
laāmanasurely, (would) have believed
مَن
manwho
فِى
(are) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
كُلُّهُمْ
kulluhumall of them
جَمِيعًا ۚ
jamīʿantogether
أَفَأَنتَ
afa-antaThen, will you
تُكْرِهُ
tuk'rihucompel
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsathe mankind
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattāuntil
يَكُونُوا۟
yakūnūthey become
مُؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīnabelievers
٩٩
(99)
And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed - all of them entirely. Then, [O Muḥammad], would you compel the people in order that they become believers?

وَمَا
wamāAnd not
كَانَ
kānais
لِنَفْسٍ
linafsinfor a soul
أَن
anto
تُؤْمِنَ
tu'minabelieve
إِلَّا
illāexcept
بِإِذْنِ
bi-idh'niby (the) permission
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahi(of) Allah
وَيَجْعَلُ
wayajʿaluAnd He will place
ٱلرِّجْسَ
l-rij'sathe wrath
عَلَى
ʿalāon
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
لَا
(do) not
يَعْقِلُونَ
yaʿqilūnause reason
١٠٠
(100)
And it is not for a soul [i.e., anyone] to believe except by permission of Allāh, and He will place defilement upon those who will not use reason.

قُلِ
quliSay
ٱنظُرُوا۟
unẓurūSee
مَاذَا
mādhāwhat
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ
wal-arḍiand the earth
وَمَا
wamāBut not
تُغْنِى
tugh'nīwill avail
ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتُ
l-āyātuthe Signs
وَٱلنُّذُرُ
wal-nudhuruand the warners
عَن
ʿanto
قَوْمٍۢ
qawmina people
لَّا
(who do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūnabelieve
١٠١
(101)
Say, "Observe what is in the heavens and the earth." But of no avail will be signs or warners to a people who do not believe.

فَهَلْ
fahalThen do
يَنتَظِرُونَ
yantaẓirūnathey wait
إِلَّا
illāexcept
مِثْلَ
mith'lalike
أَيَّامِ
ayyāmithe days
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna(of) those who
خَلَوْا۟
khalawpassed away
مِن
minbefore them
قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ
qablihimbefore them
قُلْ
qulSay
فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟
fa-intaẓirūThen wait
إِنِّى
innīindeed, I (am)
مَعَكُم
maʿakumwith you
مِّنَ
minaamong
ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ
l-muntaẓirīnathe ones who wait
١٠٢
(102)
So do they wait except for like [what occurred in] the days of those who passed on before them? Say, "Then wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait."

ثُمَّ
thummaThen
نُنَجِّى
nunajjīWe will save
رُسُلَنَا
rusulanāOur Messengers
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaand those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ ۚ
āmanūbelieve
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālikaThus
حَقًّا
ḥaqqan(it is) an obligation
عَلَيْنَا
ʿalaynāupon Us
نُنجِ
nunji(that) We save
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīnathe believers
١٠٣
(103)
Then We will save Our messengers and those who have believed. Thus, it is an obligation upon Us that We save the believers.

qulSay
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhāO mankind
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsuO mankind
إِن
inIf
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou are
فِى
in
شَكٍّۢ
shakkindoubt
مِّن
minof
دِينِى
dīnīmy religion
فَلَآ
falāthen not
أَعْبُدُ
aʿbuduI worship
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose whom
تَعْبُدُونَ
taʿbudūnayou worship
مِن
minbesides Allah
دُونِ
dūnibesides Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahibesides Allah
وَلَـٰكِنْ
walākinbut
أَعْبُدُ
aʿbuduI worship
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīthe One Who
يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْ ۖ
yatawaffākumcauses you to die
وَأُمِرْتُ
wa-umir'tuAnd I am commanded
أَنْ
anthat
أَكُونَ
akūnaI be
مِنَ
minaof
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīnathe believers
١٠٤
(104)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "O people, if you are in doubt as to my religion - then I do not worship those which you worship besides Allāh; but I worship Allāh, who causes your death. And I have been commanded to be of the believers

وَأَنْ
wa-anAnd that
أَقِمْ
aqimDirect
وَجْهَكَ
wajhakayour face
لِلدِّينِ
lilddīnito the religion
حَنِيفًۭا
ḥanīfanupright
وَلَا
walāand (do) not
تَكُونَنَّ
takūnannabe
مِنَ
minaof
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
l-mush'rikīnathe polytheists
١٠٥
(105)
And [commanded], 'Direct your face [i.e., self] toward the religion, inclining to truth, and never be of those who associate others with Allāh;

walāAnd (do) not
تَدْعُ
tadʿuinvoke
مِن
minbesides Allah
دُونِ
dūnibesides Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahibesides Allah
مَا
what
لَا
(will) not
يَنفَعُكَ
yanfaʿukabenefit you
وَلَا
walāand not
يَضُرُّكَ ۖ
yaḍurrukaharm you
فَإِن
fa-inBut if
فَعَلْتَ
faʿaltayou did so
فَإِنَّكَ
fa-innakaindeed, you
إِذًۭا
idhanthen (will be)
مِّنَ
minaof
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
١٠٦
(106)
And do not invoke besides Allāh that which neither benefits you nor harms you, for if you did, then indeed you would be of the wrongdoers.'"

وَإِن
wa-inAnd if
يَمْسَسْكَ
yamsaskaAllah touches you
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah touches you
بِضُرٍّۢ
biḍurrinwith adversity
فَلَا
falā(there is) no
كَاشِفَ
kāshifaremover
لَهُۥٓ
lahuof it
إِلَّا
illāexcept
هُوَ ۖ
huwaHim
وَإِن
wa-inand if
يُرِدْكَ
yurid'kaHe intends for you
بِخَيْرٍۢ
bikhayrinany good
فَلَا
falāthen (there is) no
رَآدَّ
rāddarepeller
لِفَضْلِهِۦ ۚ
lifaḍlihi(of) His Bounty
يُصِيبُ
yuṣībuHe causes it to reach
بِهِۦ
bihiHe causes it to reach
مَن
manwhom
يَشَآءُ
yashāuHe wills
مِنْ
minof
عِبَادِهِۦ ۚ
ʿibādihiHis slaves
وَهُوَ
wahuwaAnd He
ٱلْغَفُورُ
l-ghafūru(is) the Oft-Forgiving
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
l-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
١٠٧
(107)
And if Allāh should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him; and if He intends for you good, then there is no repeller of His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

قُلْ
qulSay
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhāO mankind
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsuO mankind
قَدْ
qadVerily
جَآءَكُمُ
jāakumuhas come to you
ٱلْحَقُّ
l-ḥaquthe truth
مِن
minfrom
رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ
rabbikumyour Lord
فَمَنِ
famaniSo whoever
ٱهْتَدَىٰ
ih'tadā(is) guided
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamāthen only
يَهْتَدِى
yahtadī(he is) guided
لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ
linafsihifor his soul
وَمَن
wamanand whoever
ضَلَّ
ḍallagoes astray
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamāthen only
يَضِلُّ
yaḍilluhe strays
عَلَيْهَا ۖ
ʿalayhāagainst it
وَمَآ
wamāAnd I am not
أَنَا۠
anāAnd I am not
عَلَيْكُم
ʿalaykumover you
بِوَكِيلٍۢ
biwakīlina guardian
١٠٨
(108)
Say, "O mankind, the truth has come to you from your Lord, so whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] his soul, and whoever goes astray only goes astray [in violation] against it. And I am not over you a manager."

وَٱتَّبِعْ
wa-ittabiʿAnd follow
مَا
what
يُوحَىٰٓ
yūḥāis revealed
إِلَيْكَ
ilaykato you
وَٱصْبِرْ
wa-iṣ'birand be patient
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattāuntil
يَحْكُمَ
yaḥkumaAllah gives judgment
ٱللَّهُ ۚ
l-lahuAllah gives judgment
وَهُوَ
wahuwaAnd He
خَيْرُ
khayru(is) the Best
ٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ
l-ḥākimīna(of) the Judges
١٠٩
(109)
And follow what is revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and be patient until Allāh will judge. And He is the best of judges.
