وَٱلْعَصْرِ
wal-ʿaṣriBy the time
١

By time,

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
l-insānamankind
لَفِى
lafī(is) surely, in
خُسْرٍ
khus'rinloss
٢
(2)
Indeed, mankind is in loss,

إِلَّا
illāExcept
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieve
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilūand do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥātirighteous deeds
وَتَوَاصَوْا۟
watawāṣawand enjoin (each other)
بِٱلْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqito the truth
وَتَوَاصَوْا۟
watawāṣawand enjoin (each other)
بِٱلصَّبْرِ
bil-ṣabrito [the] patience
٣
(3)
Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.
