أَتَىٰٓatāWill come
أَمْرُamru(the) command of Allah
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(the) command of Allah
فَلَاfalāso (do) not
تَسْتَعْجِلُوهُ ۚtastaʿjilūhu(be) impatient for it
سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥsub'ḥānahuGlorified is He
وَتَعَـٰلَىٰwataʿālāand Exalted (is) He
عَمَّاʿammāabove what
يُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnathey associate
١(1)
The command of Allāh is coming, so be not impatient for it. Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him.
Juz 14Page 267
يُنَزِّلُyunazziluHe sends down
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَl-malāikatathe Angels
بِٱلرُّوحِbil-rūḥiwith the inspiration
مِنْminof
أَمْرِهِۦamrihiHis Command
عَلَىٰʿalāupon
مَنmanwhom
يَشَآءُyashāuHe wills
مِنْminof
عِبَادِهِۦٓʿibādihiHis slaves
أَنْanthat
أَنذِرُوٓا۟andhirūWarn
أَنَّهُۥannahuthat [He]
لَآlā(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَilāhagod
إِلَّآillāexcept
أَنَا۠anāMe
فَٱتَّقُونِfa-ittaqūniso fear Me
٢(2)
He sends down the angels, with the inspiration [i.e., revelation] of His command, upon whom He wills of His servants, [telling them], "Warn that there is no deity except Me; so fear Me."

خَلَقَkhalaqaHe created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earth
بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚbil-ḥaqiin truth
تَعَـٰلَىٰtaʿālāExalted is He
عَمَّاʿammāabove what
يُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnathey associate
٣(3)
He created the heavens and earth in truth. High is He above what they associate with Him.

خَلَقَkhalaqaHe created
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَl-insānathe human kind
مِنminfrom
نُّطْفَةٍۢnuṭ'fatina minute quantity of semen
فَإِذَاfa-idhāthen behold
هُوَhuwahe
خَصِيمٌۭkhaṣīmun(is) an opponent
مُّبِينٌۭmubīnunclear
٤(4)
He created man from a sperm-drop; then at once he is a clear adversary.

وَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمَwal-anʿāmaAnd the cattle
خَلَقَهَا ۗkhalaqahāHe created them
لَكُمْlakumfor you
فِيهَاfīhāin them
دِفْءٌۭdif'on(is) warmth
وَمَنَـٰفِعُwamanāfiʿuand benefits
وَمِنْهَاwamin'hāand from them
تَأْكُلُونَtakulūnayou eat
٥(5)
And the grazing livestock He has created for you; in them is warmth and [numerous] benefits, and from them you eat.

وَلَكُمْwalakumAnd for you
فِيهَاfīhāin them
جَمَالٌjamālun(is) beauty
حِينَḥīnawhen
تُرِيحُونَturīḥūnayou bring them in
وَحِينَwaḥīnaand when
تَسْرَحُونَtasraḥūnayou take them out
٦(6)
And for you in them is [the enjoyment of] beauty when you bring them in [for the evening] and when you send them out [to pasture].

وَتَحْمِلُwataḥmiluAnd they carry
أَثْقَالَكُمْathqālakumyour loads
إِلَىٰilāto
بَلَدٍۢbaladina land
لَّمْlamnot
تَكُونُوا۟takūnūyou could
بَـٰلِغِيهِbālighīhireach it
إِلَّاillāexcept
بِشِقِّbishiqqiwith great trouble
ٱلْأَنفُسِ ۚl-anfusi(to) yourselves
إِنَّinnaIndeed
رَبَّكُمْrabbakumyour Lord
لَرَءُوفٌۭlaraūfunsurely is Most Kind
رَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
٧(7)
And they carry your loads to a land you could not have reached except with difficulty to yourselves. Indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful.

وَٱلْخَيْلَwal-khaylaAnd horses
وَٱلْبِغَالَwal-bighālaand mules
وَٱلْحَمِيرَwal-ḥamīraand donkeys
لِتَرْكَبُوهَاlitarkabūhāfor you to ride them
وَزِينَةًۭ ۚwazīnatanand (as) adornment
وَيَخْلُقُwayakhluquAnd He creates
مَاmāwhat
لَاlānot
تَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnayou know
٨(8)
And [He created] the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know.

وَعَلَىwaʿalāAnd upon
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
قَصْدُqaṣdu(is) the direction
ٱلسَّبِيلِl-sabīli(of) the way
وَمِنْهَاwamin'hāand among them
جَآئِرٌۭ ۚjāirun(are) crooked
وَلَوْwalawAnd if
شَآءَshāaHe willed
لَهَدَىٰكُمْlahadākumsurely He would have guided you
أَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīnaall
٩(9)
And upon Allāh is the direction of the [right] way, and among them [i.e., the various paths] are those deviating. And if He willed, He could have guided you all.

هُوَhuwaHe
ٱلَّذِىٓalladhī(is) the One Who
أَنزَلَanzalasends down
مِنَminafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe sky
مَآءًۭ ۖmāanwater
لَّكُمlakumfor you
مِّنْهُmin'huof it
شَرَابٌۭsharābun(is) drink
وَمِنْهُwamin'huand from it
شَجَرٌۭshajarun(grows) vegetation
فِيهِfīhiin which
تُسِيمُونَtusīmūnayou pasture your cattle
١٠(10)
It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals].

يُنۢبِتُyunbituHe causes to grow
لَكُمlakumfor you
بِهِbihiwith it
ٱلزَّرْعَl-zarʿathe crops
وَٱلزَّيْتُونَwal-zaytūnaand the olives
وَٱلنَّخِيلَwal-nakhīlaand the date-palms
وَٱلْأَعْنَـٰبَwal-aʿnābaand the grapes
وَمِنwaminand of
كُلِّkullievery kind
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۗl-thamarāti(of) fruits
إِنَّinnaIndeed
فِىfīin
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
لَـَٔايَةًۭlaāyatansurely (is) a sign
لِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a people
يَتَفَكَّرُونَyatafakkarūnawho reflect
١١(11)
He causes to grow for you thereby the crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and of all the fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought.

وَسَخَّرَwasakharaAnd He has subjected
لَكُمُlakumufor you
ٱلَّيْلَal-laylathe night
وَٱلنَّهَارَwal-nahāraand the day
وَٱلشَّمْسَwal-shamsaand the sun
وَٱلْقَمَرَ ۖwal-qamaraand the moon
وَٱلنُّجُومُwal-nujūmuand the stars
مُسَخَّرَٰتٌۢmusakharātun(are) subjected
بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗbi-amrihiby His command
إِنَّinnaIndeed
فِىfīin
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢlaāyātinsurely (are) signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a people
يَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūnawho use reason
١٢(12)
And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason.

وَمَاwamāAnd whatever
ذَرَأَdhara-aHe multiplied
لَكُمْlakumfor you
فِىfīin
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth
مُخْتَلِفًاmukh'talifan(of) varying
أَلْوَٰنُهُۥٓ ۗalwānuhucolors
إِنَّinnaIndeed
فِىfīin
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
لَـَٔايَةًۭlaāyatansurely (is) a sign
لِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a people
يَذَّكَّرُونَyadhakkarūnawho remember
١٣(13)
And [He has subjected] whatever He multiplied for you on the earth of varying colors. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who remember.

وَهُوَwahuwaAnd He
ٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the One Who
سَخَّرَsakharasubjected
ٱلْبَحْرَl-baḥrathe sea
لِتَأْكُلُوا۟litakulūfor you to eat
مِنْهُmin'hufrom it
لَحْمًۭاlaḥmanmeat
طَرِيًّۭاṭariyyanfresh
وَتَسْتَخْرِجُوا۟watastakhrijūand that you bring forth
مِنْهُmin'hufrom it
حِلْيَةًۭḥil'yatanornaments
تَلْبَسُونَهَاtalbasūnahā(that) you wear them
وَتَرَىwatarāAnd you see
ٱلْفُلْكَl-ful'kathe ships
مَوَاخِرَmawākhiraploughing
فِيهِfīhithrough it
وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟walitabtaghūand that you may seek
مِنminof
فَضْلِهِۦfaḍlihiHis Bounty
وَلَعَلَّكُمْwalaʿallakumand that you may
تَشْكُرُونَtashkurūna(be) grateful
١٤(14)
And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.

وَأَلْقَىٰwa-alqāAnd He has cast
فِىfīin
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth
رَوَٰسِىَrawāsiyafirm mountains
أَنanlest
تَمِيدَtamīdait should shake
بِكُمْbikumwith you
وَأَنْهَـٰرًۭاwa-anhāranand rivers
وَسُبُلًۭاwasubulanand roads
لَّعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you may
تَهْتَدُونَtahtadūnabe guided
١٥(15)
And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided,

وَعَلَـٰمَـٰتٍۢ ۚwaʿalāmātinAnd landmarks
وَبِٱلنَّجْمِwabil-najmiAnd by the stars
هُمْhumthey
يَهْتَدُونَyahtadūnaguide themselves
١٦(16)
And landmarks. And by the stars they are [also] guided.

أَفَمَنafamanThen is He Who
يَخْلُقُyakhluqucreates
كَمَنkamanlike one who
لَّاlā(does) not
يَخْلُقُ ۗyakhluqucreate
أَفَلَاafalāThen will you not
تَذَكَّرُونَtadhakkarūnaremember
١٧(17)
Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded?
Juz 14Page 269
وَإِنwa-inAnd if
تَعُدُّوا۟taʿuddūyou should count
نِعْمَةَniʿ'matathe Favors of Allah
ٱللَّهِl-lahithe Favors of Allah
لَاlānot
تُحْصُوهَآ ۗtuḥ'ṣūhāyou could enumerate them
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
لَغَفُورٌۭlaghafūrun(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
١٨(18)
And if you should count the favors of Allāh, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.

وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allah
يَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknows
مَاmāwhat
تُسِرُّونَtusirrūnayou conceal
وَمَاwamāand what
تُعْلِنُونَtuʿ'linūnayou reveal
١٩(19)
And Allāh knows what you conceal and what you declare.

وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whom
يَدْعُونَyadʿūnathey invoke
مِنminbesides
دُونِdūnibesides
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
لَاlānot
يَخْلُقُونَyakhluqūnathey create
شَيْـًۭٔاshayananything
وَهُمْwahumbut (are) themselves
يُخْلَقُونَyukh'laqūnacreated
٢٠(20)
And those they invoke other than Allāh create nothing, and they [themselves] are created.

أَمْوَٰتٌamwātun(They are) dead
غَيْرُghayrunot alive
أَحْيَآءٍۢ ۖaḥyāinnot alive
وَمَاwamāAnd not
يَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnathey perceive
أَيَّانَayyānawhen
يُبْعَثُونَyub'ʿathūnathey will be resurrected
٢١(21)
They are [in fact] dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected.

إِلَـٰهُكُمْilāhukumYour god
إِلَـٰهٌۭilāhun(is) God
وَٰحِدٌۭ ۚwāḥidunOne
فَٱلَّذِينَfa-alladhīnaBut those who
لَاlā(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِbil-ākhiratiin the Hereafter
قُلُوبُهُمqulūbuhumtheir hearts
مُّنكِرَةٌۭmunkiratunrefuse
وَهُمwahumand they
مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَmus'takbirūna(are) arrogant
٢٢(22)
Your god is one God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter - their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant.

لَاlāNo doubt
جَرَمَjaramaNo doubt
أَنَّannathat
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
يَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknows
مَاmāwhat
يُسِرُّونَyusirrūnathey conceal
وَمَاwamāand what
يُعْلِنُونَ ۚyuʿ'linūnathey reveal
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, He
لَاlā(does) not
يُحِبُّyuḥibbulove
ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَl-mus'takbirīnathe arrogant ones
٢٣(23)
Assuredly, Allāh knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He does not like the arrogant.

وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd when
قِيلَqīlait is said
لَهُمlahumto them
مَّاذَآmādhāWhat
أَنزَلَanzalahas your Lord sent down
رَبُّكُمْ ۙrabbukumhas your Lord sent down
قَالُوٓا۟qālūThey say
أَسَـٰطِيرُasāṭīruTales
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the ancient
٢٤(24)
And when it is said to them, "What has your Lord sent down?" they say, "Legends of the former peoples,"

لِيَحْمِلُوٓا۟liyaḥmilūThat they may bear
أَوْزَارَهُمْawzārahumtheir own burdens
كَامِلَةًۭkāmilatan(in) full
يَوْمَyawmaon (the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۙl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
وَمِنْwaminand of
أَوْزَارِawzārithe burdens
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whom
يُضِلُّونَهُمyuḍillūnahumthey misled [them]
بِغَيْرِbighayriwithout
عِلْمٍ ۗʿil'minknowledge
أَلَاalāUnquestionably
سَآءَsāaevil
مَاmā(is) what
يَزِرُونَyazirūnathey will bear
٢٥(25)
That they may bear their own burdens [i.e., sins] in full on the Day of Resurrection and some of the burdens of those whom they misguide without [i.e., by lack of] knowledge. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear.

قَدْqadVerily
مَكَرَmakaraplotted
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
مِنmin(were) before them
قَبْلِهِمْqablihim(were) before them
فَأَتَىfa-atābut Allah came
ٱللَّهُl-lahubut Allah came
بُنْيَـٰنَهُمbun'yānahum(at) their building
مِّنَminafrom
ٱلْقَوَاعِدِl-qawāʿidithe foundations
فَخَرَّfakharraso fell
عَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimuupon them
ٱلسَّقْفُl-saqfuthe roof
مِنminfrom
فَوْقِهِمْfawqihimabove them
وَأَتَىٰهُمُwa-atāhumuand came to them
ٱلْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishment
مِنْminfrom
حَيْثُḥaythuwhere
لَاlāthey (did) not perceive
يَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnathey (did) not perceive
٢٦(26)
Those before them had already plotted, but Allāh came at [i.e., uprooted] their building from the foundations, so the roof fell upon them from above them, and the punishment came to them from where they did not perceive.

ثُمَّthummaThen
يَوْمَyawma(on) the Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
يُخْزِيهِمْyukh'zīhimHe will disgrace them
وَيَقُولُwayaqūluand say
أَيْنَaynaWhere
شُرَكَآءِىَshurakāiya(are) My partners
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose (for) whom
كُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)
تُشَـٰٓقُّونَtushāqqūnaoppose
فِيهِمْ ۚfīhim[in them]
قَالَqālaWill say
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
أُوتُوا۟ūtūwere given
ٱلْعِلْمَl-ʿil'mathe knowledge
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلْخِزْىَl-khiz'yathe disgrace
ٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmathis Day
وَٱلسُّوٓءَwal-sūaand evil
عَلَىʿalā(are) upon
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
٢٧(27)
Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and say, "Where are My 'partners' for whom you used to oppose [the believers]?" Those who were given knowledge will say, "Indeed disgrace, this Day, and evil are upon the disbelievers" -

ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whom
تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُtatawaffāhumutake them in death
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُl-malāikatuthe Angels
ظَالِمِىٓẓālimī(while) wronging
أَنفُسِهِمْ ۖanfusihimthemselves
فَأَلْقَوُا۟fa-alqawūthen they would offer
ٱلسَّلَمَl-salamathe submission
مَاmāNot
كُنَّاkunnāwe were
نَعْمَلُnaʿmaludoing
مِنminany
سُوٓءٍۭ ۚsūinevil
بَلَىٰٓbalāNay
إِنَّinnaindeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
عَلِيمٌۢʿalīmun(is) All-Knower
بِمَاbimāof what
كُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
٢٨(28)
The ones whom the angels take in death [while] wronging themselves, and [who] then offer submission, [saying], "We were not doing any evil." But, yes! Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of what you used to do.
Juz 14Page 270
فَٱدْخُلُوٓا۟fa-ud'khulūSo enter
أَبْوَٰبَabwāba(the) gates
جَهَنَّمَjahannama(of) Hell
خَـٰلِدِينَkhālidīna(to) abide forever
فِيهَا ۖfīhāin it
فَلَبِئْسَfalabi'saSurely, wretched
مَثْوَىmathwā(is the) abode
ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَl-mutakabirīna(of) the arrogant
٢٩(29)
So enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and how wretched is the residence of the arrogant.

۞ وَقِيلَwaqīlaAnd it will be said
لِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those who
ٱتَّقَوْا۟ittaqawfear Allah
مَاذَآmādhāWhat
أَنزَلَanzalahas your Lord sent down
رَبُّكُمْ ۚrabbukumhas your Lord sent down
قَالُوا۟qālūThey will say
خَيْرًۭا ۗkhayranGood
لِّلَّذِينَlilladhīnaFor those who
أَحْسَنُوا۟aḥsanūdo good
فِىfīin
هَـٰذِهِhādhihithis
ٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāworld
حَسَنَةٌۭ ۚḥasanatun(is) a good
وَلَدَارُwaladāruand the home
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratiof the Hereafter
خَيْرٌۭ ۚkhayrun(is) better
وَلَنِعْمَwalaniʿ'maAnd surely excellent
دَارُdāru(is) the home
ٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīna(of) the righteous
٣٠(30)
And it will be said to those who feared Allāh, "What did your Lord send down?" They will say, "[That which is] good." For those who do good in this world is good; and the home of the Hereafter is better. And how excellent is the home of the righteous -
Juz 14Page 270
جَنَّـٰتُjannātuGardens
عَدْنٍۢʿadnin(of) Eden
يَدْخُلُونَهَاyadkhulūnahāwhich they will enter
تَجْرِىtajrīflows
مِنminfrom
تَحْتِهَاtaḥtihāunderneath them
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۖl-anhāruthe rivers
لَهُمْlahumFor them
فِيهَاfīhātherein
مَاmā(will be) whatever
يَشَآءُونَ ۚyashāūnathey wish
كَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThus
يَجْزِىyajzīAllah rewards
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah rewards
ٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīnathe righteous
٣١(31)
Gardens of perpetual residence, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow. They will have therein whatever they wish. Thus does Allāh reward the righteous -
Juz 14Page 270
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whom
تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُtatawaffāhumutake them in death
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُl-malāikatuthe Angels
طَيِّبِينَ ۙṭayyibīna(when they are) pure
يَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasaying
سَلَـٰمٌsalāmunPeace
عَلَيْكُمُʿalaykumu(be) upon you
ٱدْخُلُوا۟ud'khulūEnter
ٱلْجَنَّةَl-janataParadise
بِمَاbimāfor what
كُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
٣٢(32)
The ones whom the angels take in death, [being] good and pure; [the angels] will say, "Peace be upon you. Enter Paradise for what you used to do."

هَلْhalDo
يَنظُرُونَyanẓurūnathey wait
إِلَّآillāexcept
أَنanthat
تَأْتِيَهُمُtatiyahumu(should) come to them
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُl-malāikatuthe Angels
أَوْawor
يَأْتِىَyatiya(should) come
أَمْرُamru(the) Command
رَبِّكَ ۚrabbika(of) your Lord
كَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThus
فَعَلَfaʿaladid
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
مِنmin(were) before them
قَبْلِهِمْ ۚqablihim(were) before them
وَمَاwamāAnd not
ظَلَمَهُمُẓalamahumuwronged them
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
وَلَـٰكِنwalākinbut
كَانُوٓا۟kānūthey were
أَنفُسَهُمْanfusahumthemselves
يَظْلِمُونَyaẓlimūnawronging
٣٣(33)
Do they [i.e., the disbelievers] await except that the angels should come to them or there comes the command of your Lord? Thus did those do before them. And Allāh wronged them not, but they had been wronging themselves.

فَأَصَابَهُمْfa-aṣābahumThen struck them
سَيِّـَٔاتُsayyiātu(the) evil (results)
مَاmā(of) what
عَمِلُوا۟ʿamilūthey did
وَحَاقَwaḥāqaand surrounded
بِهِمbihimthem
مَّاmāwhat
كَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)
بِهِۦbihi[of it]
يَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūnamock
٣٤(34)
So they were struck by the evil consequences of what they did and were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

وَقَالَwaqālaAnd said
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
أَشْرَكُوا۟ashrakūassociate partners (with Allah)
لَوْlawIf
شَآءَshāaAllah (had) willed
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah (had) willed
مَاmānot
عَبَدْنَاʿabadnāwe (would) have worshipped
مِنminother than Him
دُونِهِۦdūnihiother than Him
مِنminany
شَىْءٍۢshayinthing
نَّحْنُnaḥnuwe
وَلَآwalāand not
ءَابَآؤُنَاābāunāour forefathers
وَلَاwalāand not
حَرَّمْنَاḥarramnāwe (would) have forbidden
مِنminother than Him
دُونِهِۦdūnihiother than Him
مِنminanything
شَىْءٍۢ ۚshayinanything
كَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThus
فَعَلَfaʿaladid
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
مِنmin(were) before them
قَبْلِهِمْ ۚqablihim(were) before them
فَهَلْfahalThen is (there)
عَلَىʿalāon
ٱلرُّسُلِl-rusulithe messengers
إِلَّاillāexcept
ٱلْبَلَـٰغُl-balāghuthe conveyance
ٱلْمُبِينُl-mubīnuclear
٣٥(35)
And those who associate others with Allāh say, "If Allāh had willed, we would not have worshipped anything other than Him, neither we nor our fathers, nor would we have forbidden anything through other than Him." Thus did those do before them. So is there upon the messengers except [the duty of] clear notification?

وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainly
بَعَثْنَاbaʿathnāWe sent
فِىfīinto
كُلِّkullievery
أُمَّةٍۢummatinnation
رَّسُولًاrasūlana Messenger
أَنِanithat
ٱعْبُدُوا۟uʿ'budūWorship
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
وَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟wa-ij'tanibūand avoid
ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ ۖl-ṭāghūtathe false deities
فَمِنْهُمfamin'humThen among them
مَّنْman(were some) whom
هَدَىhadāAllah guided
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah guided
وَمِنْهُمwamin'humand among them
مَّنْman(were) some
حَقَّتْḥaqqatwas justified
عَلَيْهِʿalayhion them
ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةُ ۚl-ḍalālatuthe straying
فَسِيرُوا۟fasīrūSo travel
فِىfīin
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth
فَٱنظُرُوا۟fa-unẓurūand see
كَيْفَkayfahow
كَانَkānawas
عَـٰقِبَةُʿāqibatuthe end
ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَl-mukadhibīna(of) the deniers
٣٦(36)
And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allāh and avoid ṭāghūt." And among them were those whom Allāh guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed [i.e., travel] through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers.

إِنinIf
تَحْرِصْtaḥriṣyou desire
عَلَىٰʿalā[for]
هُدَىٰهُمْhudāhumtheir guidance
فَإِنَّfa-innathen indeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
لَاlā(will) not
يَهْدِىyahdīguide
مَنmanwhom
يُضِلُّ ۖyuḍilluHe lets go astray
وَمَاwamāand not (are)
لَهُمlahumfor them
مِّنminany
نَّـٰصِرِينَnāṣirīnahelpers
٣٧(37)
[Even] if you should strive for their guidance, [O Muḥammad], indeed, Allāh does not guide those He sends astray, and they will have no helpers.
Juz 14Page 271
وَأَقْسَمُوا۟wa-aqsamūAnd they swear
بِٱللَّهِbil-lahiby Allah
جَهْدَjahdastrongest
أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ ۙaymānihim(of) their oaths
لَاlāAllah will not resurrect
يَبْعَثُyabʿathuAllah will not resurrect
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah will not resurrect
مَنman(one) who
يَمُوتُ ۚyamūtudies
بَلَىٰbalāNay
وَعْدًاwaʿdan(it is) a promise
عَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon Him
حَقًّۭاḥaqqan(in) truth
وَلَـٰكِنَّwalākinnabut
أَكْثَرَaktharamost
ٱلنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the mankind
لَاlā(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
٣٨(38)
And they swear by Allāh their strongest oaths [that] Allāh will not resurrect one who dies. But yes - [it is] a true promise [binding] upon Him, but most of the people do not know.

لِيُبَيِّنَliyubayyinaThat He will make clear
لَهُمُlahumuto them
ٱلَّذِىalladhīthat
يَخْتَلِفُونَyakhtalifūnathey differ
فِيهِfīhiwherein
وَلِيَعْلَمَwaliyaʿlamaand that may know
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوٓا۟kafarūdisbelieved
أَنَّهُمْannahumthat they
كَانُوا۟kānūwere
كَـٰذِبِينَkādhibīnaliars
٣٩(39)
[It is] so He will make clear to them [the truth of] that wherein they differ and so those who have disbelieved may know that they were liars.

إِنَّمَاinnamāOnly
قَوْلُنَاqawlunāOur Word
لِشَىْءٍlishayinto a thing
إِذَآidhāwhen
أَرَدْنَـٰهُaradnāhuWe intend it
أَنan(is) that
نَّقُولَnaqūlaWe say
لَهُۥlahuto it
كُنkunBe
فَيَكُونُfayakūnuand it is
٤٠(40)
Indeed, Our word to a thing when We intend it is but that We say to it, "Be," and it is.

وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those who
هَاجَرُوا۟hājarūemigrated
فِىfīin (the way)
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
مِنۢminafter
بَعْدِbaʿdiafter
مَاmā[what]
ظُلِمُوا۟ẓulimūthey were wronged
لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْlanubawwi-annahumsurely We will give them position
فِىfīin
ٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāthe world
حَسَنَةًۭ ۖḥasanatangood
وَلَأَجْرُwala-ajrubut surely the reward
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhirati(of) the Hereafter
أَكْبَرُ ۚakbaru(is) greater
لَوْlawif
كَانُوا۟kānūthey
يَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
٤١(41)
And those who emigrated for [the cause of] Allāh after they had been wronged - We will surely settle them in this world in a good place; but the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if only they could know.

ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose who
صَبَرُوا۟ṣabarū(are) patient
وَعَلَىٰwaʿalāand on
رَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lord
يَتَوَكَّلُونَyatawakkalūnathey put their trust
٤٢(42)
[They are] those who endured patiently and upon their Lord relied.

وَمَآwamāAnd not
أَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sent
مِنminbefore you
قَبْلِكَqablikabefore you
إِلَّاillāexcept
رِجَالًۭاrijālanmen
نُّوحِىٓnūḥīWe revealed
إِلَيْهِمْ ۚilayhimto them
فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟fasalūso ask
أَهْلَahla(the) people
ٱلذِّكْرِl-dhik'ri(of) the Reminder
إِنinif
كُنتُمْkuntumyou
لَاlā(do) not
تَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
٤٣(43)
And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed [Our message]. So ask the people of the message [i.e., former scriptures] if you do not know.
Juz 14Page 272
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِbil-bayinātiWith the clear proofs
وَٱلزُّبُرِ ۗwal-zuburiand the Books
وَأَنزَلْنَآwa-anzalnāAnd We sent down
إِلَيْكَilaykato you
ٱلذِّكْرَl-dhik'rathe Remembrance
لِتُبَيِّنَlitubayyinathat you may make clear
لِلنَّاسِlilnnāsito the mankind
مَاmāwhat
نُزِّلَnuzzilahas been sent down
إِلَيْهِمْilayhimto them
وَلَعَلَّهُمْwalaʿallahumand that they may
يَتَفَكَّرُونَyatafakkarūnareflect
٤٤(44)
[We sent them] with clear proofs and written ordinances. And We revealed to you the message [i.e., the Qur’ān] that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them and that they might give thought.

أَفَأَمِنَafa-aminaDo then feel secure
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
مَكَرُوا۟makarūplotted
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِl-sayiātithe evil deeds
أَنanthat
يَخْسِفَyakhsifaAllah will cave
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah will cave
بِهِمُbihimuwith them
ٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earth
أَوْawor
يَأْتِيَهُمُyatiyahumuwill come to them
ٱلْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishment
مِنْminfrom
حَيْثُḥaythuwhere
لَاlānot
يَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnathey perceive
٤٥(45)
Then, do those who have planned evil deeds feel secure that Allāh will not cause the earth to swallow them or that the punishment will not come upon them from where they do not perceive?
Juz 14Page 272
أَوْawOr
يَأْخُذَهُمْyakhudhahumthat He may seize them
فِىfīin
تَقَلُّبِهِمْtaqallubihimtheir going to and fro
فَمَاfamāthen not
هُمhumthey
بِمُعْجِزِينَbimuʿ'jizīnawill be able to escape
٤٦(46)
Or that He would not seize them during their [usual] activity, and they could not cause failure [i.e., escape from Him]?
Juz 14Page 272
أَوْawOr
يَأْخُذَهُمْyakhudhahumthat He may seize them
عَلَىٰʿalāwith
تَخَوُّفٍۢtakhawwufina gradual wasting
فَإِنَّfa-innaBut indeed
رَبَّكُمْrabbakumyour Lord
لَرَءُوفٌۭlaraūfun(is) surely Full of Kindness
رَّحِيمٌraḥīmunMost Merciful
٤٧(47)
Or that He would not seize them gradually [in a state of dread]? But indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful.

أَوَلَمْawalamHave not
يَرَوْا۟yarawthey seen
إِلَىٰilā[towards]
مَاmāwhat
خَلَقَkhalaqaAllah has created
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has created
مِنminfrom
شَىْءٍۢshayina thing
يَتَفَيَّؤُا۟yatafayya-uIncline
ظِلَـٰلُهُۥẓilāluhutheir shadows
عَنِʿanito
ٱلْيَمِينِl-yamīnithe right
وَٱلشَّمَآئِلِwal-shamāiliand to the left
سُجَّدًۭاsujjadanprostrating
لِّلَّهِlillahito Allah
وَهُمْwahumwhile they
دَٰخِرُونَdākhirūna(are) humble
٤٨(48)
Have they not considered what things Allāh has created? Their shadows incline to the right and to the left, prostrating to Allāh, while they [i.e., those creations] are humble.

وَلِلَّهِwalillahiAnd to Allah
يَسْجُدُyasjuduprostrate
مَاmāwhatever
فِىfī(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَمَاwamāand whatever
فِىfī(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth
مِنminof
دَآبَّةٍۢdābbatinmoving creatures
وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُwal-malāikatuand the Angels
وَهُمْwahumand they
لَاlā(are) not
يَسْتَكْبِرُونَyastakbirūnaarrogant
٤٩(49)
And to Allāh prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of creatures, and the angels [as well], and they are not arrogant.
Juz 14Page 272
يَخَافُونَyakhāfūnaThey fear
رَبَّهُمrabbahumtheir Lord
مِّنminabove them
فَوْقِهِمْfawqihimabove them
وَيَفْعَلُونَwayafʿalūnaand they do
مَاmāwhat
يُؤْمَرُونَ ۩yu'marūnathey are commanded
٥٠(50)
They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded.
Juz 14Page 272Sajdah
۞ وَقَالَwaqālaAnd Allah has said
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah has said
لَاlā(Do) not
تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟tattakhidhūtake
إِلَـٰهَيْنِilāhayni[two] gods
ٱثْنَيْنِ ۖith'naynitwo
إِنَّمَاinnamāonly
هُوَhuwaHe
إِلَـٰهٌۭilāhun(is) God
وَٰحِدٌۭ ۖwāḥidunOne
فَإِيَّـٰىَfa-iyyāyaso Me Alone
فَٱرْهَبُونِfa-ir'habūniyou fear [Me]
٥١(51)
And Allāh has said, "Do not take for yourselves two deities. He [i.e., Allāh] is but one God, so fear only Me."
Juz 14Page 272
وَلَهُۥwalahuAnd to Him (belongs)
مَاmāwhatever
فِىfī(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earth
وَلَهُwalahuand to Him
ٱلدِّينُl-dīnu(is due) the worship
وَاصِبًا ۚwāṣibanconstantly
أَفَغَيْرَafaghayraThen is it other (than)
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
تَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear
٥٢(52)
And to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him is [due] worship constantly. Then is it other than Allāh that you fear?
Juz 14Page 272
وَمَاwamāAnd whatever
بِكُمbikumyou have
مِّنminof
نِّعْمَةٍۢniʿ'matinfavor
فَمِنَfamina(is) from
ٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahiAllah
ثُمَّthummaThen
إِذَاidhāwhen
مَسَّكُمُmassakumutouches you
ٱلضُّرُّl-ḍuruthe adversity
فَإِلَيْهِfa-ilayhithen to Him
تَجْـَٔرُونَtajarūnayou cry for help
٥٣(53)
And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allāh. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help.

ثُمَّthummaThen
إِذَاidhāwhen
كَشَفَkashafaHe removes
ٱلضُّرَّl-ḍurathe adversity
عَنكُمْʿankumfrom you
إِذَاidhābehold
فَرِيقٌۭfarīqunA group
مِّنكُمminkumof you
بِرَبِّهِمْbirabbihimwith their Lord
يُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnaassociate others
٥٤(54)
Then when He removes the adversity from you, at once a party of you associates others with their Lord

لِيَكْفُرُوا۟liyakfurūSo as to deny
بِمَآbimāthat which
ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ ۚātaynāhumWe have given them
فَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ ۖfatamattaʿūThen enjoy yourselves
فَسَوْفَfasawfasoon
تَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnayou will know
٥٥(55)
So they will deny what We have given them. Then enjoy yourselves, for you are going to know.

وَيَجْعَلُونَwayajʿalūnaAnd they assign
لِمَاlimāto what
لَاlānot
يَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnathey know
نَصِيبًۭاnaṣībana portion
مِّمَّاmimmāof what
رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ ۗrazaqnāhumWe have provided them
تَٱللَّهِtal-lahiBy Allah
لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّlatus'alunnasurely you will be asked
عَمَّاʿammāabout what
كُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)
تَفْتَرُونَtaftarūnainvent
٥٦(56)
And they assign to what they do not know [i.e., false deities] a portion of that which We have provided them. By Allāh, you will surely be questioned about what you used to invent.

وَيَجْعَلُونَwayajʿalūnaAnd they assign
لِلَّهِlillahito Allah
ٱلْبَنَـٰتِl-banātidaughters
سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ ۙsub'ḥānahuGlory be to Him
وَلَهُمwalahumAnd for them
مَّاmā(is) what
يَشْتَهُونَyashtahūnathey desire
٥٧(57)
And they attribute to Allāh daughters - exalted is He - and for them is what they desire [i.e., sons].
Juz 14Page 273
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd when
بُشِّرَbushirais given good news
أَحَدُهُمaḥaduhum(to) one of them
بِٱلْأُنثَىٰbil-unthāof a female
ظَلَّẓallaturns
وَجْهُهُۥwajhuhuhis face
مُسْوَدًّۭاmus'waddandark
وَهُوَwahuwaand he
كَظِيمٌۭkaẓīmunsuppresses grief
٥٨(58)
And when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.
Juz 14Page 273
يَتَوَٰرَىٰyatawārāHe hides himself
مِنَminafrom
ٱلْقَوْمِl-qawmithe people
مِنmin(because) of
سُوٓءِsūithe evil
مَاmāof what
بُشِّرَbushirahe has been given good news
بِهِۦٓ ۚbihiabout
أَيُمْسِكُهُۥayum'sikuhuShould he keep it
عَلَىٰʿalāin
هُونٍhūninhumiliation
أَمْamor
يَدُسُّهُۥyadussuhubury it
فِىfīin
ٱلتُّرَابِ ۗl-turābithe dust
أَلَاalāUnquestionably
سَآءَsāaevil
مَاmā(is) what
يَحْكُمُونَyaḥkumūnathey decide
٥٩(59)
He hides himself from the people because of the ill of which he has been informed. Should he keep it in humiliation or bury it in the ground? Unquestionably, evil is what they decide.
Juz 14Page 273
لِلَّذِينَlilladhīnaFor those who
لَاlā(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِbil-ākhiratiin the Hereafter
مَثَلُmathalu(is) a similitude
ٱلسَّوْءِ ۖl-sawi(of) the evil
وَلِلَّهِwalillahiand for Allah
ٱلْمَثَلُl-mathalu(is) the similitude
ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ ۚl-aʿlāthe Highest
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd He
ٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmuAll-Wise
٦٠(60)
For those who do not believe in the Hereafter is the description [i.e., an attribute] of evil; and for Allāh is the highest attribute. And He is Exalted in Might, the Wise.

وَلَوْwalawAnd if
يُؤَاخِذُyuākhidhuAllah were to seize
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah were to seize
ٱلنَّاسَl-nāsathe mankind
بِظُلْمِهِمbiẓul'mihimfor their wrongdoing
مَّاmānot
تَرَكَtarakaHe (would) have left
عَلَيْهَاʿalayhāupon it
مِنminany
دَآبَّةٍۢdābbatinmoving creature
وَلَـٰكِنwalākinbut
يُؤَخِّرُهُمْyu-akhiruhumHe defers them
إِلَىٰٓilāfor
أَجَلٍۢajalina term
مُّسَمًّۭى ۖmusammanappointed
فَإِذَاfa-idhāThen when
جَآءَjāacomes
أَجَلُهُمْajaluhumtheir terms
لَاlānot
يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَyastakhirūnathey (will) remain behind
سَاعَةًۭ ۖsāʿatanan hour
وَلَاwalāand not
يَسْتَقْدِمُونَyastaqdimūnathey can advance (it)
٦١(61)
And if Allāh were to impose blame on the people for their wrongdoing, He would not have left upon it [i.e., the earth] any creature, but He defers them for a specified term. And when their term has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it].
Juz 14Page 273
وَيَجْعَلُونَwayajʿalūnaAnd they assign
لِلَّهِlillahito Allah
مَاmāwhat
يَكْرَهُونَyakrahūnathey dislike
وَتَصِفُwataṣifuand assert
أَلْسِنَتُهُمُalsinatuhumutheir tongues
ٱلْكَذِبَl-kadhibathe lie
أَنَّannathat
لَهُمُlahumufor them
ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۖl-ḥus'nā(is) the best
لَاlāNo
جَرَمَjaramadoubt
أَنَّannathat
لَهُمُlahumufor them
ٱلنَّارَl-nāra(is) the Fire
وَأَنَّهُمwa-annahumand that they
مُّفْرَطُونَmuf'raṭūna(will) be abandoned
٦٢(62)
And they attribute to Allāh that which they dislike [i.e., daughters], and their tongues assert the lie that they will have the best [from Him]. Assuredly, they will have the Fire, and they will be [therein] neglected.

تَٱللَّهِtal-lahiBy Allah
لَقَدْlaqadcertainly
أَرْسَلْنَآarsalnāWe have sent
إِلَىٰٓilāto
أُمَمٍۢumaminnations
مِّنminbefore you
قَبْلِكَqablikabefore you
فَزَيَّنَfazayyanabut made fair-seeming
لَهُمُlahumuto them
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُl-shayṭānuthe Shaitaan
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْaʿmālahumtheir deeds
فَهُوَfahuwaSo he
وَلِيُّهُمُwaliyyuhumu(is) their ally
ٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmatoday
وَلَهُمْwalahumand for them
عَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٌۭalīmunpainful
٦٣(63)
By Allāh, We did certainly send [messengers] to nations before you, but Satan made their deeds attractive to them. And he is their [i.e., the disbelievers] ally today [as well], and they will have a painful punishment.
Juz 14Page 273
وَمَآwamāAnd not
أَنزَلْنَاanzalnāWe revealed
عَلَيْكَʿalaykato you
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Book
إِلَّاillāexcept
لِتُبَيِّنَlitubayyinathat you make clear
لَهُمُlahumuto them
ٱلَّذِىalladhīthat which
ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ikh'talafūthey differed
فِيهِ ۙfīhiin it
وَهُدًۭىwahudanand (as) a guidance
وَرَحْمَةًۭwaraḥmatanand mercy
لِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a people
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believe
٦٤(64)
And We have not revealed to you the Book, [O Muḥammad], except for you to make clear to them that wherein they have differed and as guidance and mercy for a people who believe.

وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allah
أَنزَلَanzalahas sent down
مِنَminafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe sky
مَآءًۭmāanwater
فَأَحْيَاfa-aḥyāthen gives life
بِهِbihiby it
ٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍa(to) the earth
بَعْدَbaʿdaafter
مَوْتِهَآ ۚmawtihāits death
إِنَّinnaIndeed
فِىfīin
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
لَـَٔايَةًۭlaāyatan(is) surely a Sign
لِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a people
يَسْمَعُونَyasmaʿūnawho listen
٦٥(65)
And Allāh has sent down rain from the sky and given life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who listen.

وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeed
لَكُمْlakumfor you
فِىfīin
ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِl-anʿāmithe cattle
لَعِبْرَةًۭ ۖlaʿib'ratan(is) a lesson
نُّسْقِيكُمnus'qīkumWe give you to drink
مِّمَّاmimmāfrom what
فِىfī(is) in
بُطُونِهِۦbuṭūnihitheir bellies
مِنۢminfrom
بَيْنِbaynibetween
فَرْثٍۢfarthinbowels
وَدَمٍۢwadaminand blood
لَّبَنًاlabananmilk
خَالِصًۭاkhāliṣanpure
سَآئِغًۭاsāighanpalatable
لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَlilshāribīnato the drinkers
٦٦(66)
And indeed, for you in grazing livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from what is in their bellies - between excretion and blood - pure milk, palatable to drinkers.

وَمِنwaminAnd from
ثَمَرَٰتِthamarātifruits
ٱلنَّخِيلِl-nakhīlithe date-palm
وَٱلْأَعْنَـٰبِwal-aʿnābiand the grapes
تَتَّخِذُونَtattakhidhūnayou take
مِنْهُmin'hufrom it
سَكَرًۭاsakaranintoxicant
وَرِزْقًاwariz'qanand a provision
حَسَنًا ۗḥasanangood
إِنَّinnaIndeed
فِىfīin
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
لَـَٔايَةًۭlaāyatan(is) surely a Sign
لِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a people
يَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūnawho use reason
٦٧(67)
And from the fruits of the palm trees and grapevines you take intoxicant and good provision. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who reason.

وَأَوْحَىٰwa-awḥāAnd inspired
رَبُّكَrabbukayour Lord
إِلَىilāto
ٱلنَّحْلِl-naḥlithe bee
أَنِani[that]
ٱتَّخِذِىittakhidhīTake
مِنَminaamong
ٱلْجِبَالِl-jibālithe mountains
بُيُوتًۭاbuyūtanhouses
وَمِنَwaminaand among
ٱلشَّجَرِl-shajarithe trees
وَمِمَّاwamimmāand in what
يَعْرِشُونَyaʿrishūnathey construct
٦٨(68)
And your Lord inspired to the bee, "Take for yourself among the mountains, houses [i.e., hives], and among the trees and [in] that which they construct.

ثُمَّthummaThen
كُلِىkulīeat
مِنminfrom
كُلِّkulliall
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِl-thamarātithe fruits
فَٱسْلُكِىfa-us'lukīand follow
سُبُلَsubula(the) ways
رَبِّكِrabbiki(of) your Lord
ذُلُلًۭا ۚdhululanmade smooth
يَخْرُجُyakhrujuComes forth
مِنۢminfrom
بُطُونِهَاbuṭūnihātheir bellies
شَرَابٌۭsharābuna drink
مُّخْتَلِفٌmukh'talifun(of) varying
أَلْوَٰنُهُۥalwānuhucolors
فِيهِfīhiin it
شِفَآءٌۭshifāon(is) a healing
لِّلنَّاسِ ۗlilnnāsifor the mankind
إِنَّinnaIndeed
فِىfīin
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
لَـَٔايَةًۭlaāyatan(is) surely a Sign
لِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a people
يَتَفَكَّرُونَyatafakkarūnawho reflect
٦٩(69)
Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you]." There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought.

وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allah
خَلَقَكُمْkhalaqakumcreated you
ثُمَّthummathen
يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْ ۚyatawaffākumwill cause you to die
وَمِنكُمwaminkumAnd among you
مَّنman(is one) who
يُرَدُّyuradduis sent back
إِلَىٰٓilāto
أَرْذَلِardhalithe worst
ٱلْعُمُرِl-ʿumuri(of) the age
لِكَىْlikayso that
لَاlānot
يَعْلَمَyaʿlamahe will know
بَعْدَbaʿdaafter
عِلْمٍۢʿil'minknowledge
شَيْـًٔا ۚshayana thing
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
عَلِيمٌۭʿalīmun(is) All-Knowing
قَدِيرٌۭqadīrunAll-Powerful
٧٠(70)
And Allāh created you; then He will take you in death. And among you is he who is reversed to the most decrepit [old] age so that he will not know, after [having had] knowledge, a thing. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing and Competent.

وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allah
فَضَّلَfaḍḍalahas favored
بَعْضَكُمْbaʿḍakumsome of you
عَلَىٰʿalāover
بَعْضٍۢbaʿḍinothers
فِىfīin
ٱلرِّزْقِ ۚl-riz'qi[the] provision
فَمَاfamāBut not
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
فُضِّلُوا۟fuḍḍilūwere favored
بِرَآدِّىbirāddīwould hand over
رِزْقِهِمْriz'qihimtheir provision
عَلَىٰʿalāto
مَاmāwhom
مَلَكَتْmalakatpossess
أَيْمَـٰنُهُمْaymānuhumtheir right hands
فَهُمْfahumso (that) they
فِيهِfīhi(are) in it
سَوَآءٌ ۚsawāonequal
أَفَبِنِعْمَةِafabiniʿ'matiThen is it the Favor
ٱللَّهِl-lahiof Allah
يَجْحَدُونَyajḥadūnathey reject
٧١(71)
And Allāh has favored some of you over others in provision. But those who were favored [i.e., given more] would not hand over their provision to those whom their right hands possess [i.e., slaves] so they would be equal to them therein. Then is it the favor of Allāh they reject?

وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allah
جَعَلَjaʿala(has) made
لَكُمlakumfor you
مِّنْminfrom
أَنفُسِكُمْanfusikumyourselves
أَزْوَٰجًۭاazwājanspouses
وَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand has made
لَكُمlakumfor you
مِّنْminfrom
أَزْوَٰجِكُمazwājikumyour spouses
بَنِينَbanīnasons
وَحَفَدَةًۭwaḥafadatanand grandsons
وَرَزَقَكُمwarazaqakumand has provided for you
مِّنَminafrom
ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ ۚl-ṭayibātithe good things
أَفَبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِafabil-bāṭiliThen in falsehood do
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnathey believe
وَبِنِعْمَتِwabiniʿ'matiand the Favor
ٱللَّهِl-lahiof Allah
هُمْhumthey
يَكْفُرُونَyakfurūnadisbelieve
٧٢(72)
And Allāh has made for you from yourselves mates and has made for you from your mates sons and grandchildren and has provided for you from the good things. Then in falsehood do they believe and in the favor of Allāh they disbelieve?

وَيَعْبُدُونَwayaʿbudūnaAnd they worship
مِنminother than
دُونِdūniother than
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
مَاmāwhich
لَاlānot
يَمْلِكُyamlikupossesses
لَهُمْlahumfor them
رِزْقًۭاriz'qanany provision
مِّنَminafrom
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earth
شَيْـًۭٔاshayan[anything]
وَلَاwalāand not
يَسْتَطِيعُونَyastaṭīʿūnathey are able
٧٣(73)
And they worship besides Allāh that which does not possess for them [the power of] provision from the heavens and the earth at all, and [in fact], they are unable.

فَلَاfalāSo (do) not
تَضْرِبُوا۟taḍribūput forth
لِلَّهِlillahifor Allah
ٱلْأَمْثَالَ ۚl-amthālathe similitude
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
يَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknows
وَأَنتُمْwa-antumand you
لَاlā(do) not
تَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
٧٤(74)
So do not assert similarities to Allāh. Indeed, Allāh knows and you do not know.

۞ ضَرَبَḍarabaAllah sets forth
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah sets forth
مَثَلًاmathalanthe example
عَبْدًۭاʿabdan(of) a slave
مَّمْلُوكًۭاmamlūkan(who is) owned
لَّاlānot
يَقْدِرُyaqdiruhe has power
عَلَىٰʿalāon
شَىْءٍۢshayinanything
وَمَنwamanand (one) whom
رَّزَقْنَـٰهُrazaqnāhuWe provided him
مِنَّاminnāfrom Us
رِزْقًاriz'qana provision
حَسَنًۭاḥasanangood
فَهُوَfahuwaso he
يُنفِقُyunfiquspends
مِنْهُmin'hufrom it
سِرًّۭاsirransecretly
وَجَهْرًا ۖwajahranand publicly
هَلْhalCan
يَسْتَوُۥنَ ۚyastawūnathey be equal
ٱلْحَمْدُl-ḥamduAll praise
لِلَّهِ ۚlillahi(is) for Allah
بَلْbalNay
أَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhumbut most of them
لَاlā(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
٧٥(75)
Allāh presents an example: a slave [who is] owned and unable to do a thing and he to whom We have provided from Us good provision, so he spends from it secretly and publicly. Can they be equal? Praise to Allāh! But most of them do not know.

وَضَرَبَwaḍarabaAnd Allah sets forth
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah sets forth
مَثَلًۭاmathalanan example
رَّجُلَيْنِrajulayni(of) two men
أَحَدُهُمَآaḥaduhumāone of them
أَبْكَمُabkamu(is) dumb
لَاlānot
يَقْدِرُyaqdiruhe has power
عَلَىٰʿalāon
شَىْءٍۢshayinanything
وَهُوَwahuwawhile he
كَلٌّkallun(is) a burden
عَلَىٰʿalāon
مَوْلَىٰهُmawlāhuhis master
أَيْنَمَاaynamāWherever
يُوَجِّههُّyuwajjihhuhe directs him
لَاlānot
يَأْتِyatihe comes
بِخَيْرٍ ۖbikhayrinwith any good
هَلْhalIs
يَسْتَوِىyastawīequal
هُوَhuwahe
وَمَنwamanand (the one) who
يَأْمُرُyamurucommands
بِٱلْعَدْلِ ۙbil-ʿadli[of] justice
وَهُوَwahuwaand he
عَلَىٰʿalā(is) on
صِرَٰطٍۢṣirāṭina path
مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢmus'taqīminstraight
٧٦(76)
And Allāh presents an example of two men, one of them dumb and unable to do a thing, while he is a burden to his guardian. Wherever he directs him, he brings no good. Is he equal to one who commands justice, while he is on a straight path?

وَلِلَّهِwalillahiAnd to Allah (belongs)
غَيْبُghaybu(the) unseen
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚwal-arḍiand the earth
وَمَآwamāAnd not
أَمْرُamru(is the) matter
ٱلسَّاعَةِl-sāʿati(of) the Hour
إِلَّاillābut
كَلَمْحِkalamḥias a twinkling
ٱلْبَصَرِl-baṣari(of) the eye
أَوْawor
هُوَhuwait
أَقْرَبُ ۚaqrabu(is) nearer
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
عَلَىٰʿalāon
كُلِّkullievery
شَىْءٍۢshayinthing
قَدِيرٌۭqadīrun(is) All-Powerful
٧٧(77)
And to Allāh belongs the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth. And the command for the Hour is not but as a glance of the eye or even nearer. Indeed, Allāh is over all things competent.

وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allah
أَخْرَجَكُمakhrajakumbrought you forth
مِّنۢminfrom
بُطُونِbuṭūnithe wombs
أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْummahātikum(of) your mothers
لَاlānot
تَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknowing
شَيْـًۭٔاshayananything
وَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand made
لَكُمُlakumufor you
ٱلسَّمْعَl-samʿathe hearing
وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَwal-abṣāraand the sight
وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۙwal-afidataand the hearts
لَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you may
تَشْكُرُونَtashkurūnagive thanks
٧٨(78)
And Allāh has extracted you from the wombs of your mothers not knowing a thing, and He made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect] that perhaps you would be grateful.

أَلَمْalamDo not
يَرَوْا۟yarawthey see
إِلَىilātowards
ٱلطَّيْرِl-ṭayrithe birds
مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۢmusakharātincontrolled
فِىfīin
جَوِّjawwithe midst
ٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāi(of) the sky
مَاmāNone
يُمْسِكُهُنَّyum'sikuhunnaholds them up
إِلَّاillāexcept
ٱللَّهُ ۗl-lahuAllah
إِنَّinnaIndeed
فِىfīin
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢlaāyātin(are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a people
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believe
٧٩(79)
Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allāh. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.

وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allah
جَعَلَjaʿala(has) made
لَكُمlakumfor you
مِّنۢmin[from]
بُيُوتِكُمْbuyūtikumyour homes
سَكَنًۭاsakanana resting place
وَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand made
لَكُمlakumfor you
مِّنminfrom
جُلُودِjulūdithe hides
ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِl-anʿāmi(of) the cattle
بُيُوتًۭاbuyūtantents
تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَاtastakhiffūnahāwhich you find light
يَوْمَyawma(on) the day
ظَعْنِكُمْẓaʿnikum(of) your travel
وَيَوْمَwayawmaand the day
إِقَامَتِكُمْ ۙiqāmatikum(of) your encampment
وَمِنْwaminand from
أَصْوَافِهَاaṣwāfihātheir wool
وَأَوْبَارِهَاwa-awbārihāand their fur
وَأَشْعَارِهَآwa-ashʿārihāand their hair
أَثَـٰثًۭاathāthan(is) furnishing
وَمَتَـٰعًاwamatāʿanand a provision
إِلَىٰilāfor
حِينٍۢḥīnina time
٨٠(80)
And Allāh has made for you from your homes a place of rest and made for you from the hides of the animals tents which you find light on your day of travel and your day of encampment; and from their wool, fur and hair is furnishing and enjoyment [i.e., provision] for a time.

وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allah
جَعَلَjaʿala(has) made
لَكُمlakumfor you
مِّمَّاmimmāfrom what
خَلَقَkhalaqaHe created
ظِلَـٰلًۭاẓilālanshades
وَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand (has) made
لَكُمlakumfor you
مِّنَminafrom
ٱلْجِبَالِl-jibālithe mountains
أَكْنَـٰنًۭاaknānanshelters
وَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand (has) made
لَكُمْlakumfor you
سَرَٰبِيلَsarābīlagarments
تَقِيكُمُtaqīkumuto protect you
ٱلْحَرَّl-ḥara(from) the heat
وَسَرَٰبِيلَwasarābīlaand garments
تَقِيكُمtaqīkumto protect you
بَأْسَكُمْ ۚbasakumfrom your (mutual) violence
كَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThus
يُتِمُّyutimmuHe completes
نِعْمَتَهُۥniʿ'matahuHis Favor
عَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon you
لَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you may
تُسْلِمُونَtus'limūnasubmit
٨١(81)
And Allāh has made for you, from that which He has created, shadows [i.e., shade] and has made for you from the mountains, shelters and has made for you garments which protect you from the heat and garments [i.e., coats of mail] which protect you from your [enemy in] battle. Thus does He complete His favor upon you that you might submit [to Him].

فَإِنfa-inThen, if
تَوَلَّوْا۟tawallawthey turn away
فَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen only
عَلَيْكَʿalaykaupon you
ٱلْبَلَـٰغُl-balāghu(is) the conveyance
ٱلْمُبِينُl-mubīnuthe clear
٨٢(82)
But if they turn away, [O Muḥammad] - then only upon you is [responsibility for] clear notification.

يَعْرِفُونَyaʿrifūnaThey recognize
نِعْمَتَniʿ'mata(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
ثُمَّthummathen
يُنكِرُونَهَاyunkirūnahāthey deny it
وَأَكْثَرُهُمُwa-aktharuhumuAnd most of them
ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَl-kāfirūna(are) the disbelievers
٨٣(83)
They recognize the favor of Allāh; then they deny it. And most of them are disbelievers.

وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd the Day
نَبْعَثُnabʿathuWe will resurrect
مِنminfrom
كُلِّkullievery
أُمَّةٍۢummatinnation
شَهِيدًۭاshahīdana witness
ثُمَّthummathen
لَاlānot
يُؤْذَنُyu'dhanuwill be permitted
لِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieved
وَلَاwalāand not
هُمْhumthey
يُسْتَعْتَبُونَyus'taʿtabūnawill be asked to make amends
٨٤(84)
And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect from every nation a witness [i.e., their prophet]. Then it will not be permitted to the disbelievers [to apologize or make excuses], nor will they be asked to appease [Allāh].

وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd when
رَءَاraā(will) see
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ظَلَمُوا۟ẓalamūwronged
ٱلْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishment
فَلَاfalāthen not
يُخَفَّفُyukhaffafuit will be lightened
عَنْهُمْʿanhumfor them
وَلَاwalāand not
هُمْhumthey
يُنظَرُونَyunẓarūnawill be given respite
٨٥(85)
And when those who wronged see the punishment, it will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved.
Juz 14Page 276
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd when
رَءَاraā(will) see
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
أَشْرَكُوا۟ashrakūassociated partners with Allah
شُرَكَآءَهُمْshurakāahumtheir partners
قَالُوا۟qālūThey will say
رَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lord
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِhāulāithese
شُرَكَآؤُنَاshurakāunā(are) our partners
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whom
كُنَّاkunnāwe used to
نَدْعُوا۟nadʿūinvoke
مِنminbesides You
دُونِكَ ۖdūnikabesides You
فَأَلْقَوْا۟fa-alqawBut they (will) throw back
إِلَيْهِمُilayhimuat them
ٱلْقَوْلَl-qawla(their) word
إِنَّكُمْinnakumIndeed, you
لَكَـٰذِبُونَlakādhibūna(are) surely liars
٨٦(86)
And when those who associated others with Allāh see their "partners," they will say, "Our Lord, these are our partners [to You] whom we used to invoke [in worship] besides You." But they will throw at them the statement, "Indeed, you are liars."
Juz 14Page 276
وَأَلْقَوْا۟wa-alqawAnd they (will) offer
إِلَىilāto
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
يَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhin(on) that Day
ٱلسَّلَمَ ۖl-salamathe submission
وَضَلَّwaḍallaand (is) lost
عَنْهُمʿanhumfrom them
مَّاmāwhat
كَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)
يَفْتَرُونَyaftarūnainvent
٨٧(87)
And they will impart to Allāh that Day [their] submission, and lost from them is what they used to invent.
Juz 14Page 276
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaAnd those who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieved
وَصَدُّوا۟waṣaddūand hindered
عَنʿanfrom
سَبِيلِsabīli(the) way
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
زِدْنَـٰهُمْzid'nāhumWe will increase them
عَذَابًۭاʿadhāban(in) punishment
فَوْقَfawqaover
ٱلْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābipunishment
بِمَاbimābecause
كَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)
يُفْسِدُونَyuf'sidūnaspread corruption
٨٨(88)
Those who disbelieved and averted [others] from the way of Allāh - We will increase them in punishment over [their] punishment for what corruption they were causing.

وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd the Day
نَبْعَثُnabʿathuWe will resurrect
فِىfīamong
كُلِّkullievery
أُمَّةٍۢummatinnation
شَهِيدًاshahīdana witness
عَلَيْهِمʿalayhimover them
مِّنْminfrom
أَنفُسِهِمْ ۖanfusihimthemselves
وَجِئْنَاwaji'nāAnd We (will) bring
بِكَbikayou
شَهِيدًاshahīdan(as) a witness
عَلَىٰʿalāover
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ۚhāulāithese
وَنَزَّلْنَاwanazzalnāAnd We sent down
عَلَيْكَʿalaykato you
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Book
تِبْيَـٰنًۭاtib'yānan(as) a clarification
لِّكُلِّlikulliof every
شَىْءٍۢshayinthing
وَهُدًۭىwahudanand a guidance
وَرَحْمَةًۭwaraḥmatanand mercy
وَبُشْرَىٰwabush'rāand glad tidings
لِلْمُسْلِمِينَlil'mus'limīnafor the Muslims
٨٩(89)
And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect among every nation a witness over them from themselves [i.e., their prophet]. And We will bring you, [O Muḥammad], as a witness over these [i.e., your nation]. And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims.

۞ إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
يَأْمُرُyamurucommands
بِٱلْعَدْلِbil-ʿadlijustice
وَٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِwal-iḥ'sāniand the good
وَإِيتَآئِwaītāiand giving
ذِىdhī(to) relatives
ٱلْقُرْبَىٰl-qur'bā(to) relatives
وَيَنْهَىٰwayanhāand forbids
عَنِʿani[from]
ٱلْفَحْشَآءِl-faḥshāithe immorality
وَٱلْمُنكَرِwal-munkariand the bad
وَٱلْبَغْىِ ۚwal-baghyiand the oppression
يَعِظُكُمْyaʿiẓukumHe admonishes you
لَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you may
تَذَكَّرُونَtadhakkarūnatake heed
٩٠(90)
Indeed, Allāh orders justice and good conduct and giving [help] to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded.
Juz 14Page 277
وَأَوْفُوا۟wa-awfūAnd fulfil
بِعَهْدِbiʿahdithe covenant
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
إِذَاidhāwhen
عَـٰهَدتُّمْʿāhadttumyou have taken a covenant
وَلَاwalāand (do) not
تَنقُضُوا۟tanquḍūbreak
ٱلْأَيْمَـٰنَl-aymānaoaths
بَعْدَbaʿdaafter
تَوْكِيدِهَاtawkīdihātheir confirmation
وَقَدْwaqadwhile verily
جَعَلْتُمُjaʿaltumuyou have made
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
عَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumover you
كَفِيلًا ۚkafīlana surety
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
يَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknows
مَاmāwhat
تَفْعَلُونَtafʿalūnayou do
٩١(91)
And fulfill the covenant of Allāh when you have taken it, [O believers], and do not break oaths after their confirmation while you have made Allāh, over you, a security [i.e., witness]. Indeed, Allāh knows what you do.

وَلَاwalāAnd (do) not
تَكُونُوا۟takūnūbe
كَٱلَّتِىka-allatīlike her who
نَقَضَتْnaqaḍatuntwists
غَزْلَهَاghazlahāher spun yarn
مِنۢminafter
بَعْدِbaʿdiafter
قُوَّةٍquwwatinstrength
أَنكَـٰثًۭاankāthan(into) untwisted strands
تَتَّخِذُونَtattakhidhūnayou take
أَيْمَـٰنَكُمْaymānakumyour oaths
دَخَلًۢاdakhalan(as) a deception
بَيْنَكُمْbaynakumbetween you
أَنanbecause
تَكُونَtakūnais
أُمَّةٌummatuna community
هِىَhiya[it]
أَرْبَىٰarbāmore numerous
مِنْminthan
أُمَّةٍ ۚummatin(another) community
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnly
يَبْلُوكُمُyablūkumuAllah tests you
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah tests you
بِهِۦ ۚbihiby it
وَلَيُبَيِّنَنَّwalayubayyinannaAnd He will make clear
لَكُمْlakumto you
يَوْمَyawma(on) the Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
مَاmāwhat
كُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)
فِيهِfīhiin it
تَخْتَلِفُونَtakhtalifūnadiffer
٩٢(92)
And do not be like she who untwisted her spun thread after it was strong [by] taking your oaths as [means of] deceit between you because one community is more plentiful [in number or wealth] than another community. Allāh only tries you thereby. And He will surely make clear to you on the Day of Resurrection that over which you used to differ.

وَلَوْwalawAnd if
شَآءَshāaAllah (had) willed
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah (had) willed
لَجَعَلَكُمْlajaʿalakumsurely He (could) have made you
أُمَّةًۭummatana nation
وَٰحِدَةًۭwāḥidatanone
وَلَـٰكِنwalākinbut
يُضِلُّyuḍilluHe lets go astray
مَنmanwhom
يَشَآءُyashāuHe wills
وَيَهْدِىwayahdīand guides
مَنmanwhom
يَشَآءُ ۚyashāuHe wills
وَلَتُسْـَٔلُنَّwalatus'alunnaAnd surely you will be questioned
عَمَّاʿammāabout what
كُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
٩٣(93)
And if Allāh had willed, He could have made you [of] one religion, but He sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And you will surely be questioned about what you used to do.

وَلَاwalāAnd (do) not
تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟tattakhidhūtake
أَيْمَـٰنَكُمْaymānakumyour oaths
دَخَلًۢاdakhalan(as) a deception
بَيْنَكُمْbaynakumbetween you
فَتَزِلَّfatazillalest, should slip
قَدَمٌۢqadamuna foot
بَعْدَbaʿdaafter
ثُبُوتِهَاthubūtihāit is firmly planted
وَتَذُوقُوا۟watadhūqūand you would taste
ٱلسُّوٓءَl-sūathe evil
بِمَاbimāfor what
صَدَدتُّمْṣadadttumyou hindered
عَنʿanfrom
سَبِيلِsabīli(the) way
ٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahi(of) Allah
وَلَكُمْwalakumand for you
عَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishment
عَظِيمٌۭʿaẓīmungreat
٩٤(94)
And do not take your oaths as [means of] deceit between you, lest a foot slip after it was [once] firm, and you would taste evil [in this world] for what [people] you diverted from the way of Allāh, and you would have [in the Hereafter] a great punishment.

وَلَاwalāAnd (do) not
تَشْتَرُوا۟tashtarūexchange
بِعَهْدِbiʿahdithe covenant
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
ثَمَنًۭاthamanan(for) a price
قَلِيلًا ۚqalīlanlittle
إِنَّمَاinnamāIndeed, what
عِندَʿinda(is) with
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
هُوَhuwait
خَيْرٌۭkhayrun(is) better
لَّكُمْlakumfor you
إِنinif
كُنتُمْkuntumyou were (to)
تَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
٩٥(95)
And do not exchange the covenant of Allāh for a small price. Indeed, what is with Allāh is best for you, if only you could know.
Juz 14Page 278
مَاmāWhatever
عِندَكُمْʿindakum(is) with you
يَنفَدُ ۖyanfaduwill be exhausted
وَمَاwamāand whatever
عِندَʿinda(is) with
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
بَاقٍۢ ۗbāqin(will) be remaining
وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّwalanajziyannaAnd surely We will pay
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
صَبَرُوٓا۟ṣabarū(are) patient
أَجْرَهُمajrahumtheir reward
بِأَحْسَنِbi-aḥsanito (the) best
مَاmā(of) what
كَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)
يَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
٩٦(96)
Whatever you have will end, but what Allāh has is lasting. And We will surely give those who were patient their reward according to the best of what they used to do.

مَنْmanWhoever
عَمِلَʿamiladoes
صَـٰلِحًۭاṣāliḥanrighteous deeds
مِّنminwhether
ذَكَرٍdhakarinmale
أَوْawor
أُنثَىٰunthāfemale
وَهُوَwahuwawhile he
مُؤْمِنٌۭmu'minun(is) a believer
فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُۥfalanuḥ'yiyannahuthen surely We will give him life
حَيَوٰةًۭḥayatana life
طَيِّبَةًۭ ۖṭayyibatangood
وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْwalanajziyannahumand We will pay them
أَجْرَهُمajrahumtheir reward
بِأَحْسَنِbi-aḥsanito (the) best
مَاmāof what
كَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)
يَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
٩٧(97)
Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do.

فَإِذَاfa-idhāSo when
قَرَأْتَqaratayou recite
ٱلْقُرْءَانَl-qur'ānathe Quran
فَٱسْتَعِذْfa-is'taʿidhseek refuge
بِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allah
مِنَminafrom
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِl-shayṭānithe Shaitaan
ٱلرَّجِيمِl-rajīmithe accursed
٩٨(98)
So when you recite the Qur’ān, [first] seek refuge in Allāh from Satan, the expelled [from His mercy].

إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed he
لَيْسَlaysanot
لَهُۥlahufor him
سُلْطَـٰنٌsul'ṭānun(is) any authority
عَلَىʿalāon
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve
وَعَلَىٰwaʿalāand upon
رَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lord
يَتَوَكَّلُونَyatawakkalūnathey put their trust
٩٩(99)
Indeed, there is for him no authority over those who have believed and rely upon their Lord.

إِنَّمَاinnamāOnly
سُلْطَـٰنُهُۥsul'ṭānuhuhis authority
عَلَىʿalā(is) over
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
يَتَوَلَّوْنَهُۥyatawallawnahutake him as an ally
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those who
هُمhum[they]
بِهِۦbihiwith Him
مُشْرِكُونَmush'rikūnaassociate partners
١٠٠(100)
His authority is only over those who take him as an ally and those who through him associate others with Allāh.

وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd when
بَدَّلْنَآbaddalnāWe substitute
ءَايَةًۭāyatana Verse
مَّكَانَmakāna(in) place
ءَايَةٍۢ ۙāyatin(of) a Verse
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuand Allah
أَعْلَمُaʿlamu(is) most knowing
بِمَاbimāof what
يُنَزِّلُyunazziluHe sends down
قَالُوٓا۟qālūthey say
إِنَّمَآinnamāOnly
أَنتَantayou
مُفْتَرٍۭ ۚmuf'tarin(are) an inventor
بَلْbalNay
أَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of them
لَاlā(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
١٠١(101)
And when We substitute a verse in place of a verse - and Allāh is most knowing of what He sends down - they say, "You, [O Muḥammad], are but an inventor [of lies]." But most of them do not know.

قُلْqulSay
نَزَّلَهُۥnazzalahuHas brought it down
رُوحُrūḥuthe Holy Spirit
ٱلْقُدُسِl-qudusithe Holy Spirit
مِنminfrom
رَّبِّكَrabbikayour Lord
بِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truth
لِيُثَبِّتَliyuthabbitato make firm
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve
وَهُدًۭىwahudanand (as) a guidance
وَبُشْرَىٰwabush'rāand glad tidings
لِلْمُسْلِمِينَlil'mus'limīnato the Muslims
١٠٢(102)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "The Pure Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] has brought it down from your Lord in truth to make firm those who believe and as guidance and good tidings to the Muslims."

وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainly
نَعْلَمُnaʿlamuWe know
أَنَّهُمْannahumthat they
يَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasay
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnly
يُعَلِّمُهُۥyuʿallimuhuteaches him
بَشَرٌۭ ۗbasharuna human being
لِّسَانُlisānu(The) tongue
ٱلَّذِىalladhī(of) the one
يُلْحِدُونَyul'ḥidūnathey refer
إِلَيْهِilayhito him
أَعْجَمِىٌّۭaʿjamiyyun(is) foreign
وَهَـٰذَاwahādhāwhile this
لِسَانٌlisānun(is) a language
عَرَبِىٌّۭʿarabiyyunArabic
مُّبِينٌmubīnunclear
١٠٣(103)
And We certainly know that they say, "It is only a human being who teaches him [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)]." The tongue of the one they refer to is foreign, and this [recitation, i.e., Qur’ān] is [in] a clear Arabic language.

إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
لَاlā(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
بِـَٔايَـٰتِbiāyātiin the Verses
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
لَاlānot
يَهْدِيهِمُyahdīhimuAllah will guide them
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah will guide them
وَلَهُمْwalahumand for them
عَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٌalīmunpainful
١٠٤(104)
Indeed, those who do not believe in the verses of Allāh - Allāh will not guide them, and for them is a painful punishment.
Juz 14Page 279
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnly
يَفْتَرِىyaftarīthey invent
ٱلْكَذِبَl-kadhibathe falsehood
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
لَاlā(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
بِـَٔايَـٰتِbiāyātiin the Verses
ٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahi(of) Allah
وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَwa-ulāikaand those
هُمُhumuthey
ٱلْكَـٰذِبُونَl-kādhibūna(are) the liars
١٠٥(105)
They only invent falsehood who do not believe in the verses of Allāh, and it is those who are the liars.

مَنmanWhoever
كَفَرَkafaradisbelieves
بِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allah
مِنۢminafter
بَعْدِbaʿdiafter
إِيمَـٰنِهِۦٓīmānihihis belief
إِلَّاillāexcept
مَنْman(one) who
أُكْرِهَuk'rihais forced
وَقَلْبُهُۥwaqalbuhuwhile his heart
مُطْمَئِنٌّۢmuṭ'ma-innun(is) content
بِٱلْإِيمَـٰنِbil-īmāniwith the faith
وَلَـٰكِنwalākinBut
مَّنman(one) who
شَرَحَsharaḥaopens
بِٱلْكُفْرِbil-kuf'rito disbelief
صَدْرًۭاṣadran(his) breast
فَعَلَيْهِمْfaʿalayhimthen upon them
غَضَبٌۭghaḍabun(is) a wrath
مِّنَminaof
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
وَلَهُمْwalahumand for them
عَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishment
عَظِيمٌۭʿaẓīmungreat
١٠٦(106)
Whoever disbelieves in [i.e., denies] Allāh after his belief... except for one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart is secure in faith. But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allāh, and for them is a great punishment;

ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat (is)
بِأَنَّهُمُbi-annahumubecause
ٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟is'taḥabbūthey preferred
ٱلْحَيَوٰةَl-ḥayatathe life
ٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the world
عَلَىʿalāover
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe Hereafter
وَأَنَّwa-annaand that
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
لَاlā(does) not
يَهْدِىyahdīguide
ٱلْقَوْمَl-qawmathe people
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
١٠٧(107)
That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allāh does not guide the disbelieving people.

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(are) the ones
طَبَعَṭabaʿaAllah has set a seal
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has set a seal
عَلَىٰʿalāover
قُلُوبِهِمْqulūbihimtheir hearts
وَسَمْعِهِمْwasamʿihimand their hearing
وَأَبْصَـٰرِهِمْ ۖwa-abṣārihimand their sight
وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَwa-ulāikaAnd those
هُمُhumuthey are
ٱلْغَـٰفِلُونَl-ghāfilūnathe heedless
١٠٨(108)
Those are the ones over whose hearts and hearing and vision Allāh has sealed, and it is those who are the heedless.

لَاlāNo
جَرَمَjaramadoubt
أَنَّهُمْannahumthat they
فِىfīin
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe Hereafter
هُمُhumu[they]
ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَl-khāsirūna(are) the losers
١٠٩(109)
Assuredly, it is they, in the Hereafter, who will be the losers.

ثُمَّthummaThen
إِنَّinnaindeed
رَبَّكَrabbakayour Lord
لِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those who
هَاجَرُوا۟hājarūemigrated
مِنۢminafter
بَعْدِbaʿdiafter
مَاmāwhat
فُتِنُوا۟futinūthey had been put to trials
ثُمَّthummathen
جَـٰهَدُوا۟jāhadūstrove hard
وَصَبَرُوٓا۟waṣabarūand were patient
إِنَّinnaIndeed
رَبَّكَrabbakayour Lord
مِنۢminafter it
بَعْدِهَاbaʿdihāafter it
لَغَفُورٌۭlaghafūrunsurely is Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
١١٠(110)
Then, indeed your Lord, to those who emigrated after they had been compelled [to say words of disbelief] and thereafter fought [for the cause of Allāh] and were patient - indeed, your Lord, after that, is Forgiving and Merciful

۞ يَوْمَyawma(On) the Day
تَأْتِىtatī(when) will come
كُلُّkulluevery
نَفْسٍۢnafsinsoul
تُجَـٰدِلُtujādilupleading
عَنʿanfor
نَّفْسِهَاnafsihāitself
وَتُوَفَّىٰwatuwaffāand will be paid in full
كُلُّkulluevery
نَفْسٍۢnafsinsoul
مَّاmāwhat
عَمِلَتْʿamilatit did
وَهُمْwahumand they
لَاlā(will) not
يُظْلَمُونَyuẓ'lamūnabe wronged
١١١(111)
On the Day when every soul will come disputing [i.e., pleading] for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and they will not be wronged [i.e., treated unjustly].

وَضَرَبَwaḍarabaAnd Allah sets forth
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah sets forth
مَثَلًۭاmathalana similitude
قَرْيَةًۭqaryatan(of) a town
كَانَتْkānat(that) was
ءَامِنَةًۭāminatansecure
مُّطْمَئِنَّةًۭmuṭ'ma-innatanand content
يَأْتِيهَاyatīhācoming to it
رِزْقُهَاriz'quhāits provision
رَغَدًۭاraghadan(in) abundance
مِّنminfrom
كُلِّkullievery
مَكَانٍۢmakāninplace
فَكَفَرَتْfakafaratbut it denied
بِأَنْعُمِbi-anʿumi(the) Favors of Allah
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(the) Favors of Allah
فَأَذَٰقَهَاfa-adhāqahāso Allah made it taste
ٱللَّهُl-lahuso Allah made it taste
لِبَاسَlibāsa(the) garb
ٱلْجُوعِl-jūʿi(of) the hunger
وَٱلْخَوْفِwal-khawfiand the fear
بِمَاbimāfor what
كَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)
يَصْنَعُونَyaṣnaʿūnado
١١٢(112)
And Allāh presents an example: a city [i.e., Makkah] which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allāh. So Allāh made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing.

وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainly
جَآءَهُمْjāahumcame to them
رَسُولٌۭrasūluna Messenger
مِّنْهُمْmin'humfrom among them
فَكَذَّبُوهُfakadhabūhubut they denied him
فَأَخَذَهُمُfa-akhadhahumuso seized them
ٱلْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishment
وَهُمْwahumwhile they
ظَـٰلِمُونَẓālimūna(were) wrongdoers
١١٣(113)
And there had certainly come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they denied him; so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers.

فَكُلُوا۟fakulūSo eat
مِمَّاmimmāof what
رَزَقَكُمُrazaqakumuAllah has provided you
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has provided you
حَلَـٰلًۭاḥalālanlawful
طَيِّبًۭاṭayyibanand good
وَٱشْكُرُوا۟wa-ush'kurūAnd be grateful
نِعْمَتَniʿ'mata(for the) Favor
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
إِنinif
كُنتُمْkuntum[you]
إِيَّاهُiyyāhuHim Alone
تَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūnayou worship
١١٤(114)
Then eat of what Allāh has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And be grateful for the favor of Allāh, if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.

إِنَّمَاinnamāOnly
حَرَّمَḥarramaHe has forbidden
عَلَيْكُمُʿalaykumuto you
ٱلْمَيْتَةَl-maytatathe dead animal
وَٱلدَّمَwal-damaand the blood
وَلَحْمَwalaḥmaand the flesh
ٱلْخِنزِيرِl-khinzīri(of) the swine
وَمَآwamāand what
أُهِلَّuhillahas been dedicated
لِغَيْرِlighayrito other (than)
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
بِهِۦ ۖbihi[with it]
فَمَنِfamaniBut (if) one
ٱضْطُرَّuḍ'ṭurra(is) forced
غَيْرَghayrawithout (being)
بَاغٍۢbāghindisobedient
وَلَاwalāand not
عَادٍۢʿādina transgressor
فَإِنَّfa-innathen indeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
غَفُورٌۭghafūrun(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
١١٥(115)
He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allāh. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit] - then indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.

وَلَاwalāAnd (do) not
تَقُولُوا۟taqūlūsay
لِمَاlimāfor that which
تَصِفُtaṣifuassert
أَلْسِنَتُكُمُalsinatukumuyour tongues
ٱلْكَذِبَl-kadhibathe lie
هَـٰذَاhādhāThis
حَلَـٰلٌۭḥalālun(is) lawful
وَهَـٰذَاwahādhāand this
حَرَامٌۭḥarāmun(is) forbidden
لِّتَفْتَرُوا۟litaftarūso that you invent
عَلَىʿalāabout
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
ٱلْكَذِبَ ۚl-kadhibathe lie
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
يَفْتَرُونَyaftarūnainvent
عَلَىʿalāabout
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
ٱلْكَذِبَl-kadhibathe lie
لَاlāthey will not succeed
يُفْلِحُونَyuf'liḥūnathey will not succeed
١١٦(116)
And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, "This is lawful and this is unlawful," to invent falsehood about Allāh. Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allāh will not succeed.

مَتَـٰعٌۭmatāʿunAn enjoyment
قَلِيلٌۭqalīlunlittle
وَلَهُمْwalahumand for them
عَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٌۭalīmunpainful
١١٧(117)
[It is but] a brief enjoyment, and they will have a painful punishment.
Juz 14Page 280
وَعَلَىwaʿalāAnd to
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
هَادُوا۟hādūare Jews
حَرَّمْنَاḥarramnāWe have forbidden
مَاmāwhat
قَصَصْنَاqaṣaṣnāWe related
عَلَيْكَʿalaykato you
مِنminbefore
قَبْلُ ۖqablubefore
وَمَاwamāAnd not
ظَلَمْنَـٰهُمْẓalamnāhumWe wronged them
وَلَـٰكِنwalākinbut
كَانُوٓا۟kānūthey used (to)
أَنفُسَهُمْanfusahumthemselves
يَظْلِمُونَyaẓlimūnawrong
١١٨(118)
And to those who are Jews We have prohibited that which We related to you before. And We did not wrong them [thereby], but they were wronging themselves.

ثُمَّthummaThen
إِنَّinnaindeed
رَبَّكَrabbakayour Lord
لِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those who
عَمِلُوا۟ʿamilūdid
ٱلسُّوٓءَl-sūaevil
بِجَهَـٰلَةٍۢbijahālatinin ignorance
ثُمَّthummathen
تَابُوا۟tābūrepented
مِنۢminafter
بَعْدِbaʿdiafter
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
وَأَصْلَحُوٓا۟wa-aṣlaḥūand corrected themselves
إِنَّinnaindeed
رَبَّكَrabbakayour Lord
مِنۢminafter that
بَعْدِهَاbaʿdihāafter that
لَغَفُورٌۭlaghafūrun(is) surely Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌraḥīmunMost Merciful
١١٩(119)
Then, indeed your Lord, to those who have done wrong out of ignorance and then repent after that and correct themselves - indeed, your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful.

إِنَّinnaIndeed
إِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīmaIbrahim
كَانَkānawas
أُمَّةًۭummatana nation
قَانِتًۭاqānitanobedient
لِّلَّهِlillahito Allah
حَنِيفًۭاḥanīfanupright
وَلَمْwalamand not
يَكُyakuhe was
مِنَminaof
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَl-mush'rikīnathe polytheists
١٢٠(120)
Indeed, Abraham was a [comprehensive] leader, devoutly obedient to Allāh, inclining toward truth, and he was not of those who associate others with Allāh.

شَاكِرًۭاshākiranThankful
لِّأَنْعُمِهِ ۚli-anʿumihifor His favors
ٱجْتَبَىٰهُij'tabāhuHe chose him
وَهَدَىٰهُwahadāhuand guided him
إِلَىٰilāto
صِرَٰطٍۢṣirāṭinthe way
مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢmus'taqīminstraight
١٢١(121)
[He was] grateful for His favors. He [i.e., Allāh] chose him and guided him to a straight path.

وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُwaātaynāhuAnd We gave him
فِىfīin
ٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāthe world
حَسَنَةًۭ ۖḥasanatangood
وَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuand indeed, he
فِىfīin
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe Hereafter
لَمِنَlamina(he) will surely (be) among
ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَl-ṣāliḥīnathe righteous
١٢٢(122)
And We gave him good in this world, and indeed, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous.

ثُمَّthummaThen
أَوْحَيْنَآawḥaynāWe revealed
إِلَيْكَilaykato you
أَنِanithat
ٱتَّبِعْittabiʿYou follow
مِلَّةَmillata(the) religion
إِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīma(of) Ibrahim
حَنِيفًۭا ۖḥanīfanupright
وَمَاwamāand not
كَانَkānahe was
مِنَminaof
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَl-mush'rikīnathe polytheists
١٢٣(123)
Then We revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allāh.

إِنَّمَاinnamāOnly
جُعِلَjuʿilawas appointed
ٱلسَّبْتُl-sabtuthe Sabbath
عَلَىʿalāfor
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ikh'talafūdiffered
فِيهِ ۚfīhiin it
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeed
رَبَّكَrabbakayour Lord
لَيَحْكُمُlayaḥkumuwill surely judge
بَيْنَهُمْbaynahumbetween them
يَوْمَyawma(on) the Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
فِيمَاfīmāin what
كَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)
فِيهِfīhi[in it]
يَخْتَلِفُونَyakhtalifūnadiffer
١٢٤(124)
The sabbath was only appointed for those who differed over it. And indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

ٱدْعُud'ʿuCall
إِلَىٰilāto
سَبِيلِsabīli(the) way
رَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lord
بِٱلْحِكْمَةِbil-ḥik'matiwith the wisdom
وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِwal-mawʿiẓatiand the instruction
ٱلْحَسَنَةِ ۖl-ḥasanatithe good
وَجَـٰدِلْهُمwajādil'humand discuss with them
بِٱلَّتِىbi-allatīin that
هِىَhiyawhich
أَحْسَنُ ۚaḥsanu(is) best
إِنَّinnaIndeed
رَبَّكَrabbakayour Lord
هُوَhuwaHe
أَعْلَمُaʿlamu(is) most knowing
بِمَنbimanof who
ضَلَّḍallahas strayed
عَنʿanfrom
سَبِيلِهِۦ ۖsabīlihiHis way
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd He
أَعْلَمُaʿlamu(is) most knowing
بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَbil-muh'tadīnaof the guided ones
١٢٥(125)
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided.

وَإِنْwa-inAnd if
عَاقَبْتُمْʿāqabtumyou retaliate
فَعَاقِبُوا۟faʿāqibūthen retaliate
بِمِثْلِbimith'liwith the like
مَاmāof what
عُوقِبْتُمʿūqib'tumyou were afflicted
بِهِۦ ۖbihiwith [it]
وَلَئِنwala-inBut if
صَبَرْتُمْṣabartumyou are patient
لَهُوَlahuwasurely (it) is
خَيْرٌۭkhayrunbetter
لِّلصَّـٰبِرِينَlilṣṣābirīnafor those who are patient
١٢٦(126)
And if you punish [an enemy, O believers], punish with an equivalent of that with which you were harmed. But if you are patient - it is better for those who are patient.

وَٱصْبِرْwa-iṣ'birAnd be patient
وَمَاwamāand not
صَبْرُكَṣabruka(is) your patience
إِلَّاillābut
بِٱللَّهِ ۚbil-lahifrom Allah
وَلَاwalāAnd (do) not
تَحْزَنْtaḥzangrieve
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimover them
وَلَاwalāand (do) not
تَكُtakube
فِىfīin
ضَيْقٍۢḍayqindistress
مِّمَّاmimmāfor what
يَمْكُرُونَyamkurūnathey plot
١٢٧(127)
And be patient, [O Muḥammad], and your patience is not but through Allāh. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire.

إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
مَعَmaʿa(is) with
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ٱتَّقَوا۟ittaqawfear (Him)
وَّٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those who
هُمhum[they]
مُّحْسِنُونَmuḥ'sinūna(are) good-doers
١٢٨(128)
Indeed, Allāh is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good.
