سُبْحَـٰنَ
sub'ḥānaExalted
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhī(is) the One Who
أَسْرَىٰ
asrātook
بِعَبْدِهِۦ
biʿabdihiHis servant
لَيْلًۭا
laylan(by) night
مِّنَ
minafrom
ٱلْمَسْجِدِ
l-masjidiAl-Masjid Al-Haraam
ٱلْحَرَامِ
l-ḥarāmiAl-Masjid Al-Haraam
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱلْمَسْجِدِ
l-masjidiAl-Masjid Al-Aqsa
ٱلْأَقْصَا
l-aqṣāAl-Masjid Al-Aqsa
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīwhich
بَـٰرَكْنَا
bāraknāWe blessed
حَوْلَهُۥ
ḥawlahuits surroundings
لِنُرِيَهُۥ
linuriyahuthat We may show him
مِنْ
minof
ءَايَـٰتِنَآ ۚ
āyātināOur Signs
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed He
هُوَ
huwaHe
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
l-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلْبَصِيرُ
l-baṣīruthe All-Seer
١
(1)
Exalted is He who took His Servant [i.e., Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ)] by night from al-Masjid al-Ḥarām to al-Masjid al-Aqṣā, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

وَءَاتَيْنَا
waātaynāAnd We gave
مُوسَى
mūsāMusa
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ
l-kitābathe Book
وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ
wajaʿalnāhuand made it
هُدًۭى
hudana guidance
لِّبَنِىٓ
libanīfor the Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla(of) Israel
أَلَّا
allāThat not
تَتَّخِذُوا۟
tattakhidhūyou take
مِن
minother than Me
دُونِى
dūnīother than Me
وَكِيلًۭا
wakīlan(as) a Disposer of affairs
٢
(2)
And We gave Moses the Scripture and made it a guidance for the Children of Israel that you not take other than Me as Disposer of affairs,

ذُرِّيَّةَ
dhurriyyataOffsprings
مَنْ
man(of one) who
حَمَلْنَا
ḥamalnāWe carried
مَعَ
maʿawith
نُوحٍ ۚ
nūḥinNuh
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, he
كَانَ
kānawas
عَبْدًۭا
ʿabdana servant
شَكُورًۭا
shakūrangrateful
٣
(3)
O descendants of those We carried [in the ship] with Noah. Indeed, he was a grateful servant.

وَقَضَيْنَآ
waqaḍaynāAnd We decreed
إِلَىٰ
ilāfor
بَنِىٓ
banī(the) Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla(of) Israel
فِى
in
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābithe Book
لَتُفْسِدُنَّ
latuf'sidunnaSurely you will cause corruption
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
مَرَّتَيْنِ
marrataynitwice
وَلَتَعْلُنَّ
walataʿlunnaand surely you will reach
عُلُوًّۭا
ʿuluwwanhaughtiness
كَبِيرًۭا
kabīrangreat
٤
(4)
And We conveyed to the Children of Israel in the Scripture that, "You will surely cause corruption on the earth twice, and you will surely reach [a degree of] great haughtiness."

فَإِذَا
fa-idhāSo when
جَآءَ
jāacame
وَعْدُ
waʿdu(the) promise
أُولَىٰهُمَا
ūlāhumā(for) the first of the two
بَعَثْنَا
baʿathnāWe raised
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykumagainst you
عِبَادًۭا
ʿibādanservants
لَّنَآ
lanāof Ours
أُو۟لِى
ulīthose of great military might
بَأْسٍۢ
basinthose of great military might
شَدِيدٍۢ
shadīdinthose of great military might
فَجَاسُوا۟
fajāsūand they entered
خِلَـٰلَ
khilālathe inner most part
ٱلدِّيَارِ ۚ
l-diyāri(of) the homes
وَكَانَ
wakānaand (it) was
وَعْدًۭا
waʿdana promise
مَّفْعُولًۭا
mafʿūlanfulfilled
٥
(5)
So when the [time of] promise came for the first of them, We sent against you servants of Ours - those of great military might, and they probed [even] into the homes, and it was a promise fulfilled.

ثُمَّ
thummaThen
رَدَدْنَا
radadnāWe gave back
لَكُمُ
lakumuto you
ٱلْكَرَّةَ
l-karatathe return victory
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhimover them
وَأَمْدَدْنَـٰكُم
wa-amdadnākumAnd We reinforced you
بِأَمْوَٰلٍۢ
bi-amwālinwith the wealth
وَبَنِينَ
wabanīnaand sons
وَجَعَلْنَـٰكُمْ
wajaʿalnākumand made you
أَكْثَرَ
aktharamore
نَفِيرًا
nafīrannumerous
٦
(6)
Then We gave back to you a return victory over them. And We reinforced you with wealth and sons and made you more numerous in manpower.

إِنْ
inIf
أَحْسَنتُمْ
aḥsantumyou do good
أَحْسَنتُمْ
aḥsantumyou do good
لِأَنفُسِكُمْ ۖ
li-anfusikumfor yourselves
وَإِنْ
wa-inand if
أَسَأْتُمْ
asatumyou do evil
فَلَهَا ۚ
falahāthen it is for it
فَإِذَا
fa-idhāSo when
جَآءَ
jāacame
وَعْدُ
waʿdupromise
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhiratithe last
لِيَسُـۥٓـُٔوا۟
liyasūūto sadden
وُجُوهَكُمْ
wujūhakumyour faces
وَلِيَدْخُلُوا۟
waliyadkhulūand to enter
ٱلْمَسْجِدَ
l-masjidathe Masjid
كَمَا
kamājust as
دَخَلُوهُ
dakhalūhuthey (had) entered it
أَوَّلَ
awwalafirst
مَرَّةٍۢ
marratintime
وَلِيُتَبِّرُوا۟
waliyutabbirūand to destroy
مَا
what
عَلَوْا۟
ʿalawthey had conquered
تَتْبِيرًا
tatbīran(with) destruction
٧
(7)
[And said], "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, [you do it] to them [i.e., yourselves]." Then when the final [i.e., second] promise came, [We sent your enemies] to sadden your faces and to enter the masjid [i.e., the temple in Jerusalem], as they entered it the first time, and to destroy what they had taken over with [total] destruction.

عَسَىٰ
ʿasā(It) may be
رَبُّكُمْ
rabbukumthat your Lord
أَن
anthat your Lord
يَرْحَمَكُمْ ۚ
yarḥamakum(may) have mercy upon you
وَإِنْ
wa-inBut if
عُدتُّمْ
ʿudttumyou return
عُدْنَا ۘ
ʿud'nāWe will return
وَجَعَلْنَا
wajaʿalnāAnd We have made
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannamaHell
لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
lil'kāfirīnafor the disbelievers
حَصِيرًا
ḥaṣīrana prison-bed
٨
(8)
[Then Allāh said], "It is expected, [if you repent], that your Lord will have mercy upon you. But if you return [to sin], We will return [to punishment]. And We have made Hell, for the disbelievers, a prison-bed."

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
l-qur'ānathe Quran
يَهْدِى
yahdīguides
لِلَّتِى
lillatīto that
هِىَ
hiyawhich
أَقْوَمُ
aqwamu(is) most straight
وَيُبَشِّرُ
wayubashiruand gives glad tidings
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīnato the believers
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
يَعْمَلُونَ
yaʿmalūnado
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥātithe righteous deeds
أَنَّ
annathat
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
أَجْرًۭا
ajran(is) a reward
كَبِيرًۭا
kabīrangreat
٩
(9)
Indeed, this Qur’ān guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward

وَأَنَّ
wa-annaAnd that
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūnabelieve
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
bil-ākhiratiin the Hereafter
أَعْتَدْنَا
aʿtadnāWe have prepared
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
عَذَابًا
ʿadhābana punishment
أَلِيمًۭا
alīmanpainful
١٠
(10)
And that those who do not believe in the Hereafter - We have prepared for them a painful punishment.

وَيَدْعُ
wayadʿuAnd prays
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ
l-insānuthe man
بِٱلشَّرِّ
bil-sharifor evil
دُعَآءَهُۥ
duʿāahu(as) he prays
بِٱلْخَيْرِ ۖ
bil-khayrifor the good
وَكَانَ
wakānaAnd is
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ
l-insānuthe man
عَجُولًۭا
ʿajūlanever hasty
١١
(11)
And man supplicates for evil [when angry] as he supplicates for good, and man is ever hasty.

وَجَعَلْنَا
wajaʿalnāAnd We have made
ٱلَّيْلَ
al-laylathe night
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
wal-nahāraand the day
ءَايَتَيْنِ ۖ
āyatayni(as) two signs
فَمَحَوْنَآ
famaḥawnāThen We erased
ءَايَةَ
āyata(the) sign
ٱلَّيْلِ
al-layli(of) the night
وَجَعَلْنَآ
wajaʿalnāand We made
ءَايَةَ
āyata(the) sign
ٱلنَّهَارِ
l-nahāri(of) the day
مُبْصِرَةًۭ
mub'ṣiratanvisible
لِّتَبْتَغُوا۟
litabtaghūthat you may seek
فَضْلًۭا
faḍlanbounty
مِّن
minfrom
رَّبِّكُمْ
rabbikumyour Lord
وَلِتَعْلَمُوا۟
walitaʿlamūand that you may know
عَدَدَ
ʿadada(the) number
ٱلسِّنِينَ
l-sinīna(of) the years
وَٱلْحِسَابَ ۚ
wal-ḥisābaand the account
وَكُلَّ
wakullaAnd every
شَىْءٍۢ
shayinthing
فَصَّلْنَـٰهُ
faṣṣalnāhuWe have explained it
تَفْصِيلًۭا
tafṣīlan(in) detail
١٢
(12)
And We have made the night and day two signs, and We erased the sign of the night and made the sign of the day visible that you may seek bounty from your Lord and may know the number of years and the account [of time]. And everything We have set out in detail.

وَكُلَّ
wakullaAnd (for) every
إِنسَـٰنٍ
insāninman
أَلْزَمْنَـٰهُ
alzamnāhuWe have fastened to him
طَـٰٓئِرَهُۥ
ṭāirahuhis fate
فِى
in
عُنُقِهِۦ ۖ
ʿunuqihihis neck
وَنُخْرِجُ
wanukh'rijuand We will bring forth
لَهُۥ
lahufor him
يَوْمَ
yawma(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
كِتَـٰبًۭا
kitābana record
يَلْقَىٰهُ
yalqāhuwhich he will find
مَنشُورًا
manshūranwide open
١٣
(13)
And [for] every person We have imposed his fate upon his neck, and We will produce for him on the Day of Resurrection a record which he will encounter spread open.

ٱقْرَأْ
iq'raRead
كِتَـٰبَكَ
kitābakayour record
كَفَىٰ
kafāSufficient
بِنَفْسِكَ
binafsika(is) yourself
ٱلْيَوْمَ
l-yawmatoday
عَلَيْكَ
ʿalaykaagainst you
حَسِيبًۭا
ḥasīban(as) accountant
١٤
(14)
[It will be said], "Read your record. Sufficient is yourself against you this Day as accountant."

مَّنِ
maniWhoever
ٱهْتَدَىٰ
ih'tadā(is) guided
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamāthen only
يَهْتَدِى
yahtadīhe is guided
لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ
linafsihifor his soul
وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
ضَلَّ
ḍallagoes astray
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamāthen only
يَضِلُّ
yaḍilluhe goes astray
عَلَيْهَا ۚ
ʿalayhāagainst it
وَلَا
walāAnd not
تَزِرُ
taziruwill bear
وَازِرَةٌۭ
wāziratuna bearer of burden
وِزْرَ
wiz'raburden
أُخْرَىٰ ۗ
ukh'rā(of) another
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
كُنَّا
kunnāWe
مُعَذِّبِينَ
muʿadhibīnaare to punish
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattāuntil
نَبْعَثَ
nabʿathaWe have sent
رَسُولًۭا
rasūlana Messenger
١٥
(15)
Whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] his soul. And whoever errs only errs against it. And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And never would We punish until We sent a messenger.

وَإِذَآ
wa-idhāAnd when
أَرَدْنَآ
aradnāWe intend
أَن
anthat
نُّهْلِكَ
nuh'likaWe destroy
قَرْيَةً
qaryatana town
أَمَرْنَا
amarnāWe order
مُتْرَفِيهَا
mut'rafīhāits wealthy people
فَفَسَقُوا۟
fafasaqūbut they defiantly disobey
فِيهَا
fīhātherein
فَحَقَّ
faḥaqqaso (is) proved true
عَلَيْهَا
ʿalayhāagainst it
ٱلْقَوْلُ
l-qawluthe word
فَدَمَّرْنَـٰهَا
fadammarnāhāand We destroy it
تَدْمِيرًۭا
tadmīran(with) destruction
١٦
(16)
And when We intend to destroy a city, We command its affluent but they defiantly disobey therein; so the word [i.e., deserved decree] comes into effect upon it, and We destroy it with [complete] destruction.

وَكَمْ
wakamAnd how many
أَهْلَكْنَا
ahlaknāWe destroyed
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلْقُرُونِ
l-qurūnithe generations
مِنۢ
minafter
بَعْدِ
baʿdiafter
نُوحٍۢ ۗ
nūḥinNuh
وَكَفَىٰ
wakafāAnd sufficient
بِرَبِّكَ
birabbika(is) your Lord
بِذُنُوبِ
bidhunūbiconcerning the sins
عِبَادِهِۦ
ʿibādihi(of) His servants
خَبِيرًۢا
khabīranAll-Aware
بَصِيرًۭا
baṣīranAll-Seer
١٧
(17)
And how many have We destroyed from the generations after Noah. And sufficient is your Lord, concerning the sins of His servants, as Aware and Seeing.

manWhoever
كَانَ
kānashould
يُرِيدُ
yurīdudesire
ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
l-ʿājilatathe immediate
عَجَّلْنَا
ʿajjalnāWe hasten
لَهُۥ
lahufor him
فِيهَا
fīhāin it
مَا
what
نَشَآءُ
nashāuWe will
لِمَن
limanto whom
نُّرِيدُ
nurīduWe intend
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
جَعَلْنَا
jaʿalnāWe have made
لَهُۥ
lahufor him
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannamaHell
يَصْلَىٰهَا
yaṣlāhāhe will burn
مَذْمُومًۭا
madhmūmandisgraced
مَّدْحُورًۭا
madḥūranrejected
١٨
(18)
Whoever should desire the immediate - We hasten for him from it what We will to whom We intend. Then We have made for him Hell, which he will [enter to] burn, censured and banished.

وَمَنْ
wamanAnd whoever
أَرَادَ
arādadesires
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
l-ākhiratathe Hereafter
وَسَعَىٰ
wasaʿāand exerts
لَهَا
lahāfor it
سَعْيَهَا
saʿyahāthe effort
وَهُوَ
wahuwawhile he
مُؤْمِنٌۭ
mu'minun(is) a believer
فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
fa-ulāikathen those
كَانَ
kāna[are]
سَعْيُهُم
saʿyuhumtheir effort
مَّشْكُورًۭا
mashkūran(is) appreciated
١٩
(19)
But whoever desires the Hereafter and exerts the effort due to it while he is a believer - it is those whose effort is ever appreciated [by Allāh].

كُلًّۭا
kullan(To) each
نُّمِدُّ
numidduWe extend
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
hāulāi(to) these
وَهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
wahāulāiand (to) these
مِنْ
minfrom
عَطَآءِ
ʿaṭāi(the) gift
رَبِّكَ ۚ
rabbika(of) your Lord
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
كَانَ
kānais
عَطَآءُ
ʿaṭāu(the) gift
رَبِّكَ
rabbika(of) your Lord
مَحْظُورًا
maḥẓūranrestricted
٢٠
(20)
To each [category] We extend - to these and to those - from the gift of your Lord. And never has the gift of your Lord been restricted.

ٱنظُرْ
unẓurSee
كَيْفَ
kayfahow
فَضَّلْنَا
faḍḍalnāWe preferred
بَعْضَهُمْ
baʿḍahumsome of them
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāover
بَعْضٍۢ ۚ
baʿḍinothers
وَلَلْـَٔاخِرَةُ
walalākhiratuAnd surely the Hereafter
أَكْبَرُ
akbaru(is) greater
دَرَجَـٰتٍۢ
darajātin(in) degrees
وَأَكْبَرُ
wa-akbaruand greater
تَفْضِيلًۭا
tafḍīlan(in) excellence
٢١
(21)
Look how We have favored [in provision] some of them over others. But the Hereafter is greater in degrees [of difference] and greater in distinction.

لَّا
(Do) not
تَجْعَلْ
tajʿalmake
مَعَ
maʿawith
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
إِلَـٰهًا
ilāhangod
ءَاخَرَ
ākharaanother
فَتَقْعُدَ
fataqʿudalest you will sit
مَذْمُومًۭا
madhmūmandisgraced
مَّخْذُولًۭا
makhdhūlanforsaken
٢٢
(22)
Do not make [as equal] with Allāh another deity and [thereby] become censured and forsaken.

۞ وَقَضَىٰ
waqaḍāAnd has decreed
رَبُّكَ
rabbukayour Lord
أَلَّا
allāthat (do) not
تَعْبُدُوٓا۟
taʿbudūworship
إِلَّآ
illāexcept
إِيَّاهُ
iyyāhuHim Alone
وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ
wabil-wālidayniand to the parents
إِحْسَـٰنًا ۚ
iḥ'sānan(be) good
إِمَّا
immāWhether
يَبْلُغَنَّ
yablughannareach
عِندَكَ
ʿindakawith you
ٱلْكِبَرَ
l-kibarathe old age
أَحَدُهُمَآ
aḥaduhumāone of them
أَوْ
awor
كِلَاهُمَا
kilāhumāboth of them
فَلَا
falāthen (do) not
تَقُل
taqulsay
لَّهُمَآ
lahumāto both of them
أُفٍّۢ
uffina word of disrespect
وَلَا
walāand (do) not
تَنْهَرْهُمَا
tanharhumārepel them
وَقُل
waqulbut speak
لَّهُمَا
lahumāto them
قَوْلًۭا
qawlana word
كَرِيمًۭا
karīmannoble
٢٣
(23)
And your Lord has decreed that you worship not except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.

وَٱخْفِضْ
wa-ikh'fiḍAnd lower
لَهُمَا
lahumāto them
جَنَاحَ
janāḥa(the) wing
ٱلذُّلِّ
l-dhuli(of) humility
مِنَ
mina(out) of
ٱلرَّحْمَةِ
l-raḥmati[the] mercy
وَقُل
waquland say
رَّبِّ
rabbiMy Lord
ٱرْحَمْهُمَا
ir'ḥamhumāHave mercy on both of them
كَمَا
kamāas
رَبَّيَانِى
rabbayānīthey brought me up
صَغِيرًۭا
ṣaghīran(when I was) small
٢٤
(24)
And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."

رَّبُّكُمْ
rabbukumYour Lord
أَعْلَمُ
aʿlamu(is) most knowing
بِمَا
bimāof what
فِى
(is) in
نُفُوسِكُمْ ۚ
nufūsikumyourselves
إِن
inIf
تَكُونُوا۟
takūnūyou are
صَـٰلِحِينَ
ṣāliḥīnarighteous
فَإِنَّهُۥ
fa-innahuthen indeed, He
كَانَ
kānais
لِلْأَوَّٰبِينَ
lil'awwābīnato those who often turn (to Him)
غَفُورًۭا
ghafūranMost Forgiving
٢٥
(25)
Your Lord is most knowing of what is within yourselves. If you should be righteous [in intention] - then indeed He is ever, to the often returning [to Him], Forgiving.

وَءَاتِ
waātiAnd give
ذَا
dhāthe relatives
ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ
l-qur'bāthe relatives
حَقَّهُۥ
ḥaqqahuhis right
وَٱلْمِسْكِينَ
wal-mis'kīnaand the needy
وَٱبْنَ
wa-ib'naand the wayfarer
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
l-sabīliand the wayfarer
وَلَا
walāand (do) not
تُبَذِّرْ
tubadhirspend
تَبْذِيرًا
tabdhīranwastefully
٢٦
(26)
And give the relative his right, and [also] the poor and the traveler, and do not spend wastefully.

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلْمُبَذِّرِينَ
l-mubadhirīnathe spendthrifts
كَانُوٓا۟
kānūare
إِخْوَٰنَ
ikh'wānabrothers
ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ ۖ
l-shayāṭīni(of) the devils
وَكَانَ
wakānaAnd is
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ
l-shayṭānuthe Shaitaan
لِرَبِّهِۦ
lirabbihito his Lord
كَفُورًۭا
kafūranungrateful
٢٧
(27)
Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils, and ever has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful.

وَإِمَّا
wa-immāAnd if
تُعْرِضَنَّ
tuʿ'riḍannayou turn away
عَنْهُمُ
ʿanhumufrom them
ٱبْتِغَآءَ
ib'tighāaseeking
رَحْمَةٍۢ
raḥmatinmercy
مِّن
minfrom
رَّبِّكَ
rabbikayour Lord
تَرْجُوهَا
tarjūhāwhich you expect
فَقُل
faqulthen say
لَّهُمْ
lahumto them
قَوْلًۭا
qawlana word
مَّيْسُورًۭا
maysūrangentle
٢٨
(28)
And if you [must] turn away from them [i.e., the needy] awaiting mercy from your Lord which you expect, then speak to them a gentle word.

مَغْلُولَةً

إِلَىٰ

عُنُقِكَ

walāand not
تَبْسُطْهَا
tabsuṭ'hāextend it
كُلَّ
kulla(to its) utmost
ٱلْبَسْطِ
l-basṭireach
فَتَقْعُدَ
fataqʿudaso that you sit
مَلُومًۭا
malūmanblameworthy
مَّحْسُورًا
maḥsūraninsolvent
٢٩
(29)
And do not make your hand [as] chained to your neck or extend it completely and [thereby] become blamed and insolvent.

ٱلرِّزْقَ

وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ
wayaqdiruand straitens
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, He
كَانَ
kānais
بِعِبَادِهِۦ
biʿibādihiof His slaves
خَبِيرًۢا
khabīranAll-Aware
بَصِيرًۭا
baṣīranAll-Seer
٣٠
(30)
Indeed, your Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. Indeed He is ever, concerning His servants, Aware and Seeing.

أَوْلَـٰدَكُمْ
awlādakumyour children
خَشْيَةَ
khashyata(for) fear
إِمْلَـٰقٍۢ ۖ
im'lāqin(of) poverty
نَّحْنُ
naḥnuWe
نَرْزُقُهُمْ
narzuquhum(We) provide for them
وَإِيَّاكُمْ ۚ
wa-iyyākumand for you
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
قَتْلَهُمْ
qatlahumtheir killing
كَانَ
kānais
خِطْـًۭٔا
khiṭ'ana sin
كَبِيرًۭا
kabīrangreat
٣١
(31)
And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, their killing is ever a great sin.

taqrabūgo near
ٱلزِّنَىٰٓ ۖ
l-zināadultery
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, it

fāḥishatanan immorality
وَسَآءَ
wasāaand (an) evil
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlanway
٣٢
(32)
And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way.

ٱلنَّفْسَ
l-nafsathe soul
ٱلَّتِى
allatīwhich
حَرَّمَ
ḥarramaAllah has forbidden

l-lahuAllah has forbidden
إِلَّا
illāexcept
بِٱلْحَقِّ ۗ
bil-ḥaqiby right
وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
قُتِلَ
qutila(is) killed
مَظْلُومًۭا
maẓlūmanwrongfully
فَقَدْ
faqadverily
جَعَلْنَا
jaʿalnāWe have made
لِوَلِيِّهِۦ
liwaliyyihifor his heir
سُلْطَـٰنًۭا
sul'ṭānanan authority
فَلَا
falābut not
يُسْرِف
yus'rifhe should exceed
فِّى
in
ٱلْقَتْلِ ۖ
l-qatlithe killing
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, he
كَانَ
kānais
مَنصُورًۭا
manṣūranhelped
٣٣
(33)
And do not kill the soul [i.e., person] which Allāh has forbidden, except by right. And whoever is killed unjustly - We have given his heir authority, but let him not exceed limits in [the matter of] taking life. Indeed, he has been supported [by the law].

ٱلْيَتِيمِ
l-yatīmi(of) the orphan
إِلَّا

hiya[it] is
أَحْسَنُ
aḥsanubest
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattāuntil
يَبْلُغَ
yablughahe reaches
أَشُدَّهُۥ ۚ
ashuddahuhis maturity
وَأَوْفُوا۟
wa-awfūAnd fulfil
بِٱلْعَهْدِ ۖ
bil-ʿahdithe covenant
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلْعَهْدَ
l-ʿahdathe covenant
كَانَ
kānawill be
مَسْـُٔولًۭا
masūlanquestioned
٣٤
(34)
And do not approach the property of an orphan, except in the way that is best, until he reaches maturity. And fulfill [every] commitment. Indeed, the commitment is ever [that about which one will be] questioned.

wa-awfūAnd give full
ٱلْكَيْلَ
l-kayla[the] measure
إِذَا
idhāwhen
كِلْتُمْ
kil'tumyou measure
وَزِنُوا۟
wazinūand weigh
بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ
bil-qis'ṭāsiwith the balance
ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ ۚ
l-mus'taqīmithe straight
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikaThat
خَيْرٌۭ
khayrun(is) good
وَأَحْسَنُ
wa-aḥsanuand best
تَأْوِيلًۭا
tawīlan(in) result
٣٥
(35)
And give full measure when you measure, and weigh with an even [i.e., honest] balance. That is the best [way] and best in result.

عِلْمٌ ۚ

ٱلسَّمْعَ
l-samʿathe hearing
وَٱلْبَصَرَ
wal-baṣaraand the sight
وَٱلْفُؤَادَ
wal-fuādaand the heart
كُلُّ
kulluall
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāikathose
كَانَ
kānawill be
عَنْهُ
ʿanhu[about it]
مَسْـُٔولًۭا
masūlanquestioned
٣٦
(36)
And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned.

تَمْشِ
tamshiwalk
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
مَرَحًا ۖ
maraḥan(with) insolence
إِنَّكَ
innakaIndeed, you

lanwill never
تَخْرِقَ
takhriqatear
ٱلْأَرْضَ
l-arḍathe earth
وَلَن
walanand will never
تَبْلُغَ
tablughareach
ٱلْجِبَالَ
l-jibālathe mountains
طُولًۭا
ṭūlan(in) height
٣٧
(37)
And do not walk upon the earth exultantly. Indeed, you will never tear the earth [apart], and you will never reach the mountains in height.

سَيِّئُهُۥ
sayyi-uhu[its] evil
عِندَ
ʿindanear
رَبِّكَ

makrūhanhateful

(38)
All that [i.e., the aforementioned] - its evil is ever, in the sight of your Lord, detested.

mimmā(is) from what
أَوْحَىٰٓ
awḥā(was) revealed
إِلَيْكَ
ilaykato you
رَبُّكَ
rabbuka(from) your Lord

ٱلْحِكْمَةِ ۗ
l-ḥik'matithe wisdom
وَلَا
walāAnd (do) not
تَجْعَلْ
tajʿalmake
مَعَ
maʿawith
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
إِلَـٰهًا
ilāhangod
ءَاخَرَ
ākharaother
فَتُلْقَىٰ
fatul'qālest you should be thrown
فِى
in
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannamaHell
مَلُومًۭا
malūmanblameworthy
مَّدْحُورًا
madḥūranabandoned
٣٩
(39)
That is from what your Lord has revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], of wisdom. And, [O mankind], do not make [as equal] with Allāh another deity, lest you be thrown into Hell, blamed and banished.

أَفَأَصْفَىٰكُمْ
afa-aṣfākumThen has your Lord chosen (for) you
رَبُّكُم
rabbukumThen has your Lord chosen (for) you
بِٱلْبَنِينَ
bil-banīnasons
وَٱتَّخَذَ
wa-ittakhadhaand He has taken
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ
l-malāikatithe Angels
إِنَـٰثًا ۚ
ināthandaughters
إِنَّكُمْ
innakumIndeed, you
لَتَقُولُونَ
lataqūlūnasurely say
قَوْلًا
qawlana word
عَظِيمًۭا
ʿaẓīmangrave
٤٠
(40)
Then, has your Lord chosen you for [having] sons and taken [i.e., adopted] from among the angels daughters? Indeed, you say a grave saying.

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd verily
صَرَّفْنَا
ṣarrafnāWe have explained
فِى
in
هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ
l-qur'ānithe Quran
لِيَذَّكَّرُوا۟
liyadhakkarūthat they may take heed
وَمَا
wamābut not
يَزِيدُهُمْ
yazīduhumit increases them
إِلَّا
illāexcept
نُفُورًۭا
nufūran(in) aversion
٤١
(41)
And We have certainly diversified [the contents] in this Qur’ān that they [i.e., mankind] may be reminded, but it does not increase them [i.e., the disbelievers] except in aversion.

لَّٱبْتَغَوْا۟
la-ib'taghawsurely they (would) have sought
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
ذِى
dhī(the) Owner
ٱلْعَرْشِ
l-ʿarshi(of) the Throne
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlana way
٤٢
(42)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "If there had been with Him [other] gods, as they say, then they [each] would have sought to the Owner of the Throne a way."

سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ
sub'ḥānahuGlorified is He
وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ
wataʿālāand Exalted is He
عَمَّا
ʿammāabove what
يَقُولُونَ

ʿuluwwan(by) height
كَبِيرًۭا
kabīrangreat
٤٣
(43)
Exalted is He and high above what they say by great sublimity.

tusabbiḥuGlorify
لَهُ
lahu[to] Him
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ
l-samāwātuthe seven heavens
ٱلسَّبْعُ
l-sabʿuthe seven heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضُ
wal-arḍuand the earth
وَمَن
wamanand whatever
فِيهِنَّ ۚ
fīhinna(is) in them
وَإِن
wa-inAnd (there is) not
مِّن
minany
شَىْءٍ
shayinthing
إِلَّا
illāexcept
يُسَبِّحُ
yusabbiḥuglorifies
بِحَمْدِهِۦ
biḥamdihiHis Praise
وَلَـٰكِن
walākinbut
لَّا
not
تَفْقَهُونَ
tafqahūnayou understand
تَسْبِيحَهُمْ ۗ
tasbīḥahumtheir glorification
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, He
كَانَ
kānais
حَلِيمًا
ḥalīmanEver-Forbearing
غَفُورًۭا
ghafūranOft-Forgiving
٤٤
(44)
The seven heavens and the earth and whatever is in them exalt Him. And there is not a thing except that it exalts [Allāh] by His praise, but you do not understand their [way of] exalting. Indeed, He is ever Forbearing and Forgiving.

قَرَأْتَ

ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
l-qur'ānathe Quran
جَعَلْنَا
jaʿalnāWe place

وَبَيْنَ
wabaynaand between
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūnabelieve
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
bil-ākhiratiin the Hereafter
حِجَابًۭا
ḥijābana barrier
مَّسْتُورًۭا
mastūranhidden
٤٥
(45)
And when you recite the Qur’ān, We put between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter a concealed partition.

وَجَعَلْنَا
wajaʿalnāAnd We have placed
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāover
قُلُوبِهِمْ
qulūbihimtheir hearts
أَكِنَّةً
akinnatancoverings
أَن
anlest
يَفْقَهُوهُ
yafqahūhuthey understand it
وَفِىٓ
wafīand in
ءَاذَانِهِمْ
ādhānihimtheir ears
وَقْرًۭا ۚ
waqrandeafness
وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
ذَكَرْتَ
dhakartayou mention
رَبَّكَ
rabbakayour Lord
فِى
in
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ
l-qur'ānithe Quran
وَحْدَهُۥ
waḥdahuAlone
وَلَّوْا۟
wallawthey turn
عَلَىٰٓ
ʿalāon
أَدْبَـٰرِهِمْ
adbārihimtheir backs
نُفُورًۭا
nufūran(in) aversion
٤٦
(46)
And We have placed over their hearts coverings, lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And when you mention your Lord alone in the Qur’ān, they turn back in aversion.

إِلَيْكَ

وَإِذْ
wa-idhand when
هُمْ
humthey
نَجْوَىٰٓ
najwā(are) in private conversation
إِذْ
idhwhen
يَقُولُ
yaqūlusay
ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
l-ẓālimūnathe wrongdoers
إِن
inNot
تَتَّبِعُونَ
tattabiʿūnayou follow
إِلَّا
illābut
رَجُلًۭا
rajulana man
مَّسْحُورًا
masḥūranbewitched
٤٧
(47)
We are most knowing of how they listen to it when they listen to you and [of] when they are in private conversation, when the wrongdoers say, "You follow not but a man affected by magic."

ٱلْأَمْثَالَ
l-amthālathe examples
فَضَلُّوا۟
faḍallūbut they have gone astray
فَلَا
falāso not
يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
yastaṭīʿūnathey can
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlan(find) a way
٤٨
(48)
Look how they strike for you comparisons; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way.

waqālūAnd they say
أَءِذَا
a-idhāIs it when
كُنَّا

عِظَـٰمًۭا
ʿiẓāmanbones
وَرُفَـٰتًا
warufātanand crumbled particles
أَءِنَّا
a-innāwill we
لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
lamabʿūthūnasurely (be) resurrected
خَلْقًۭا
khalqan(as) a creation
جَدِيدًۭا
jadīdannew
٤٩
(49)
And they say, "When we are bones and crumbled particles, will we [truly] be resurrected as a new creation?"

صُدُورِكُمْ ۚ
ṣudūrikumyour breasts
فَسَيَقُولُونَ
fasayaqūlūnaThen they will say
مَن
manWho
يُعِيدُنَا ۖ
yuʿīdunāwill restore us
قُلِ
quliSay
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīHe Who
فَطَرَكُمْ
faṭarakumcreated you
أَوَّلَ
awwala(the) first
مَرَّةٍۢ ۚ
marratintime
فَسَيُنْغِضُونَ
fasayun'ghiḍūnaThen they will shake
إِلَيْكَ
ilaykaat you
رُءُوسَهُمْ
ruūsahumtheir heads
وَيَقُولُونَ
wayaqūlūnaand they say
مَتَىٰ
matāWhen (will)
هُوَ ۖ
huwait (be)
قُلْ
qulSay
عَسَىٰٓ
ʿasāPerhaps
أَن
anthat
يَكُونَ
yakūna(it) will be
قَرِيبًۭا
qarībansoon
٥١
(51)
Or [any] creation of that which is great within your breasts." And they will say, "Who will restore us?" Say, "He who brought you forth the first time." Then they will nod their heads toward you and say, "When is that?" Say, "Perhaps it will be soon -

yawma(On) the Day
يَدْعُوكُمْ
yadʿūkumHe will call you
فَتَسْتَجِيبُونَ
fatastajībūnaand you will respond
بِحَمْدِهِۦ
biḥamdihiwith His Praise
وَتَظُنُّونَ
wataẓunnūnaand you will think
إِن
innot
لَّبِثْتُمْ
labith'tumyou had remained
إِلَّا
illāexcept
قَلِيلًۭا
qalīlana little (while)
٥٢
(52)
On the Day He will call you and you will respond with praise of Him and think that you had not remained [in the world] except for a little."

waqulAnd say
لِّعِبَادِى
liʿibādīto My slaves
يَقُولُوا۟
yaqūlū(to) say
ٱلَّتِى
allatīthat
هِىَ
hiyawhich
أَحْسَنُ ۚ
aḥsanu(is) best
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ
l-shayṭānathe Shaitaan
يَنزَغُ
yanzaghusows discord
بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ
baynahumbetween them
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ
l-shayṭānathe Shaitaan
كَانَ
kānais
لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ
lil'insānito the man
عَدُوًّۭا
ʿaduwwanan enemy
مُّبِينًۭا
mubīnanclear
٥٣
(53)
And tell My servants to say that which is best. Indeed, Satan induces [dissension] among them. Indeed Satan is ever, to mankind, a clear enemy.

aʿlamu(is) most knowing
بِكُمْ ۖ

يَشَأْ
yashaHe wills
يَرْحَمْكُمْ
yarḥamkumHe will have mercy on you
أَوْ
awor
إِن
inif
يَشَأْ
yashaHe wills
يُعَذِّبْكُمْ ۚ
yuʿadhib'kumHe will punish you
وَمَآ
wamāAnd not
أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ
arsalnākaWe have sent you
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhimover them
وَكِيلًۭا
wakīlan(as) a guardian
٥٤
(54)
Your Lord is most knowing of you. If He wills, He will have mercy upon you; or if He wills, He will punish you. And We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], over them as a manager.

وَرَبُّكَ
warabbukaAnd your Lord
أَعْلَمُ
aʿlamu(is) most knowing
بِمَن
bimanof whoever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ
wal-arḍiand the earth
وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd verily
فَضَّلْنَا
faḍḍalnāWe have preferred
بَعْضَ
baʿḍasome
ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ
l-nabiyīna(of) the Prophets
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāto
بَعْضٍۢ ۖ
baʿḍinothers
وَءَاتَيْنَا
waātaynāAnd We gave
دَاوُۥدَ
dāwūdaDawood
زَبُورًۭا
zabūranZaboor
٥٥
(55)
And your Lord is most knowing of whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And We have made some of the prophets exceed others [in various ways], and to David We gave the book [of Psalms].

ٱدْعُوا۟

ٱلَّذِينَ

زَعَمْتُم
zaʿamtumyou claimed
مِّن
minbesides Him
دُونِهِۦ
dūnihibesides Him
فَلَا
falā[then] not
يَمْلِكُونَ
yamlikūnathey have power
كَشْفَ
kashfa(to) remove
ٱلضُّرِّ
l-ḍurithe misfortunes
عَنكُمْ
ʿankumfrom you
وَلَا
walāand not
تَحْوِيلًا
taḥwīlan(to) transfer (it)
٥٦
(56)
Say, "Invoke those you have claimed [as gods] besides Him, for they do not possess the [ability for] removal of adversity from you or [for its] transfer [to someone else]."

ٱلَّذِينَ

يَدْعُونَ
yadʿūnathey call
يَبْتَغُونَ
yabtaghūnaseek
إِلَىٰ

رَبِّهِمُ
rabbihimutheir Lord
ٱلْوَسِيلَةَ
l-wasīlatathe means of access
أَيُّهُمْ
ayyuhumwhich of them
أَقْرَبُ
aqrabu(is) nearest
وَيَرْجُونَ
wayarjūnaand they hope
رَحْمَتَهُۥ
raḥmatahu(for) His mercy
وَيَخَافُونَ
wayakhāfūnaand fear
عَذَابَهُۥٓ ۚ
ʿadhābahuHis punishment
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba(the) punishment
رَبِّكَ
rabbika(of) your Lord
كَانَ
kānais
مَحْذُورًۭا
maḥdhūran(ever) feared
٥٧
(57)
Those whom they invoke seek means of access to their Lord, [striving as to] which of them would be nearest, and they hope for His mercy and fear His punishment. Indeed, the punishment of your Lord is ever feared.

مُهْلِكُوهَا

يَوْمِ
yawmi(the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
أَوْ
awor
مُعَذِّبُوهَا
muʿadhibūhāpunish it
عَذَابًۭا
ʿadhābanwith a punishment
شَدِيدًۭا ۚ
shadīdansevere
كَانَ
kānaThat is
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikaThat is
فِى
in
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābithe Book
مَسْطُورًۭا
masṭūranwritten
٥٨
(58)
And there is no city but that We will destroy it before the Day of Resurrection or punish it with a severe punishment. That has ever been in the Register inscribed.

wamāAnd not
مَنَعَنَآ
manaʿanāstopped Us
أَن
anthat
نُّرْسِلَ
nur'silaWe send
بِٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ
bil-āyātithe Signs
إِلَّآ
illāexcept
أَن
anthat
كَذَّبَ
kadhabadenied
بِهَا
bihāthem
ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ ۚ
l-awalūnathe former (people)
وَءَاتَيْنَا
waātaynāAnd We gave
ثَمُودَ
thamūdaThamud
ٱلنَّاقَةَ
l-nāqatathe she-camel
مُبْصِرَةًۭ
mub'ṣiratan(as) a visible sign
فَظَلَمُوا۟
faẓalamūbut they wronged
بِهَا ۚ
bihāher
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
نُرْسِلُ
nur'siluWe send
بِٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ
bil-āyātithe Signs
إِلَّا
illāexcept
تَخْوِيفًۭا
takhwīfan(as) a warning
٥٩
(59)
And nothing has prevented Us from sending signs [i.e., miracles] except that the former peoples denied them. And We gave Thamūd the she-camel as a visible sign, but they wronged her. And We send not the signs except as a warning.

قُلْنَا
qul'nāWe said
لَكَ
lakato you
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbakayour Lord
أَحَاطَ
aḥāṭahas encompassed
بِٱلنَّاسِ ۚ
bil-nāsithe mankind
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
جَعَلْنَا
jaʿalnāWe made
ٱلرُّءْيَا
l-ru'yāthe vision
ٱلَّتِىٓ
allatīwhich
أَرَيْنَـٰكَ
araynākaWe showed you
إِلَّا
illāexcept
فِتْنَةًۭ
fit'natan(as) a trial
لِّلنَّاسِ
lilnnāsifor mankind
وَٱلشَّجَرَةَ
wal-shajarataand the tree
ٱلْمَلْعُونَةَ
l-malʿūnatathe accursed
فِى
in
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚ
l-qur'ānithe Quran
وَنُخَوِّفُهُمْ
wanukhawwifuhumAnd We threaten them
فَمَا
famābut not
يَزِيدُهُمْ
yazīduhumit increases them
إِلَّا
illāexcept
طُغْيَـٰنًۭا
ṭugh'yānan(in) transgression
كَبِيرًۭا
kabīrangreat
٦٠
(60)
And [remember, O Muḥammad], when We told you, "Indeed, your Lord has encompassed the people." And We did not make the sight which We showed you except as a trial for the people, as was the accursed tree [mentioned] in the Qur’ān. And We threaten [i.e., warn] them, but it increases them not except in great transgression.

وَإِذْ
wa-idhAnd when
قُلْنَا
qul'nāWe said
لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ
lil'malāikatito the Angels
ٱسْجُدُوا۟
us'judūProstrate
لِـَٔادَمَ
liādamato Adam
فَسَجَدُوٓا۟
fasajadūSo they prostrated
إِلَّآ
illāexcept
إِبْلِيسَ
ib'līsaIblis
قَالَ
qālaHe said
ءَأَسْجُدُ
a-asjuduShall I prostrate
لِمَنْ
limanto (one) whom
خَلَقْتَ
khalaqtaYou created
طِينًۭا
ṭīnan(from) clay
٦١
(61)
And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except for Iblees. He said, "Should I prostrate to one You created from clay?"

qālaHe said
أَرَءَيْتَكَ
ara-aytakaDo You see
هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīwhom
كَرَّمْتَ
karramtaYou have honored
عَلَىَّ
ʿalayyaabove me
لَئِنْ
la-inIf
أَخَّرْتَنِ
akhartaniYou give me respite
إِلَىٰ
ilātill
يَوْمِ
yawmi(the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
لَأَحْتَنِكَنَّ
la-aḥtanikannaI will surely destroy
ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓ
dhurriyyatahuhis offspring
إِلَّا
illāexcept
قَلِيلًۭا
qalīlana few
٦٢
(62)
[Iblees] said, "Do You see this one whom You have honored above me? If You delay me [i.e., my death] until the Day of Resurrection, I will surely destroy his descendants, except for a few."

فَمَن

تَبِعَكَ
tabiʿakafollows you
مِنْهُمْ
min'humamong them
فَإِنَّ
fa-innathen indeed
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannamaHell
جَزَآؤُكُمْ
jazāukum(is) your recompense
جَزَآءًۭ
jazāana recompense
مَّوْفُورًۭا
mawfūranample
٦٣
(63)
[Allāh] said, "Go, for whoever of them follows you, indeed Hell will be the recompense of [all of] you - an ample recompense.

وَٱسْتَفْزِزْ
wa-is'tafzizAnd incite
مَنِ
maniwhoever
ٱسْتَطَعْتَ
is'taṭaʿtayou can
مِنْهُم
min'humamong them
بِصَوْتِكَ
biṣawtikawith your voice
وَأَجْلِبْ
wa-ajliband assault
عَلَيْهِم
ʿalayhim[on] them
بِخَيْلِكَ
bikhaylikawith your cavalry
وَرَجِلِكَ
warajilikaand infantry
وَشَارِكْهُمْ
washārik'humand be a partner
فِى
in
ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ
l-amwālithe wealth
وَٱلْأَوْلَـٰدِ
wal-awlādiand the children
وَعِدْهُمْ ۚ
waʿid'humand promise them
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
يَعِدُهُمُ
yaʿiduhumupromises them
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ
l-shayṭānuthe Shaitaan
إِلَّا
illāexcept
غُرُورًا
ghurūrandelusion
٦٤
(64)
And incite [to senselessness] whoever you can among them with your voice and assault them with your horses and foot soldiers and become a partner in their wealth and their children and promise them." But Satan does not promise them except delusion.

إِنَّ

عِبَادِى
ʿibādīMy slaves
لَيْسَ
laysanot
لَكَ
lakafor you
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhimover them
سُلْطَـٰنٌۭ ۚ
sul'ṭānunany authority
وَكَفَىٰ
wakafāAnd sufficient
بِرَبِّكَ
birabbika(is) your Lord
وَكِيلًۭا
wakīlan(as) a Guardian
٦٥
(65)
Indeed, over My [believing] servants there is for you no authority. And sufficient is your Lord as Disposer of affairs.

رَّبُّكُمُ
rabbukumuYour Lord
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(is) the One Who
يُزْجِى
yuz'jīdrives
لَكُمُ
lakumufor you
ٱلْفُلْكَ
l-ful'kathe ship
فِى
in
ٱلْبَحْرِ
l-baḥrithe sea
لِتَبْتَغُوا۟
litabtaghūthat you may seek
مِن
minof
فَضْلِهِۦٓ ۚ
faḍlihiHis Bounty
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, He
كَانَ
kānais
بِكُمْ
bikumto you
رَحِيمًۭا
raḥīmanEver Merciful
٦٦
(66)
It is your Lord who drives the ship for you through the sea that you may seek of His bounty. Indeed, He is ever, to you, Merciful.

وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
مَسَّكُمُ
massakumutouches you
ٱلضُّرُّ
l-ḍuruthe hardship
فِى
in
ٱلْبَحْرِ
l-baḥrithe sea
ضَلَّ
ḍallalost
مَن
man(are) who
تَدْعُونَ
tadʿūnayou call
إِلَّآ
illāexcept
إِيَّاهُ ۖ
iyyāhuHim Alone
فَلَمَّا
falammāBut when
نَجَّىٰكُمْ
najjākumHe delivers you
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱلْبَرِّ
l-barithe land
أَعْرَضْتُمْ ۚ
aʿraḍtumyou turn away
وَكَانَ
wakānaAnd is
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ
l-insānuman
كَفُورًا
kafūranungrateful
٦٧
(67)
And when adversity touches you at sea, lost are [all] those you invoke except for Him. But when He delivers you to the land, you turn away [from Him]. And ever is man ungrateful.

أَفَأَمِنتُمْ
afa-amintumDo you then feel secure
أَن
anthat (not)
يَخْسِفَ
yakhsifaHe will cause to swallow
بِكُمْ
bikumyou
جَانِبَ
jānibaside
ٱلْبَرِّ
l-bari(of) the land
أَوْ
awor
يُرْسِلَ
yur'silasend
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykumagainst you
حَاصِبًۭا
ḥāṣibana storm of stones
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
لَا
not
تَجِدُوا۟
tajidūyou will find
لَكُمْ
lakumfor you
وَكِيلًا
wakīlana guardian
٦٨
(68)
Then do you feel secure that [instead] He will not cause a part of the land to swallow you or send against you a storm of stones? Then you would not find for yourselves an advocate.

أَمِنتُمْ
amintumdo you feel secure
أَن
anthat (not)
يُعِيدَكُمْ
yuʿīdakumHe will send you back
فِيهِ
fīhiinto it
تَارَةً
tāratananother time
أُخْرَىٰ
ukh'rāanother time
فَيُرْسِلَ
fayur'silaand send
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykumupon you
قَاصِفًۭا
qāṣifana hurricane
مِّنَ
minaof
ٱلرِّيحِ
l-rīḥithe wind
فَيُغْرِقَكُم
fayugh'riqakumand drown you
بِمَا
bimābecause
كَفَرْتُمْ ۙ
kafartumyou disbelieved
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
لَا
not
تَجِدُوا۟
tajidūyou will find
لَكُمْ
lakumfor you
عَلَيْنَا
ʿalaynāagainst Us
بِهِۦ
bihitherein
تَبِيعًۭا
tabīʿanan avenger
٦٩
(69)
Or do you feel secure that He will not send you back into it [i.e., the sea] another time and send upon you a hurricane of wind and drown you for what you denied? Then you would not find for yourselves against Us an avenger.

۞ وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd certainly
كَرَّمْنَا
karramnāWe have honored
بَنِىٓ
banī(the) children of Adam
ءَادَمَ
ādama(the) children of Adam
وَحَمَلْنَـٰهُمْ
waḥamalnāhumand We carried them
فِى
on
ٱلْبَرِّ
l-barithe land
وَٱلْبَحْرِ
wal-baḥriand the sea
وَرَزَقْنَـٰهُم
warazaqnāhumand We have provided them
مِّنَ
minaof
ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ
l-ṭayibātithe good things
وَفَضَّلْنَـٰهُمْ
wafaḍḍalnāhumand We preferred them
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāover
كَثِيرٍۢ
kathīrinmany
مِّمَّنْ
mimmanof those whom
خَلَقْنَا
khalaqnāWe have created
تَفْضِيلًۭا
tafḍīlan(with) preference
٧٠
(70)
And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference.

يَوْمَ
yawma(The) Day
نَدْعُوا۟
nadʿūWe will call
كُلَّ
kullaall
أُنَاسٍۭ
unāsinhuman beings
بِإِمَـٰمِهِمْ ۖ
bi-imāmihimwith their record
فَمَنْ
famanthen whoever
أُوتِىَ
ūtiyais given
كِتَـٰبَهُۥ
kitābahuhis record
بِيَمِينِهِۦ
biyamīnihiin his right hand
فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
fa-ulāikathen those
يَقْرَءُونَ
yaqraūnawill read
كِتَـٰبَهُمْ
kitābahumtheir records
وَلَا
walāand not
يُظْلَمُونَ
yuẓ'lamūnathey will be wronged
فَتِيلًۭا
fatīlan(even as much as) a hair on a date seed
٧١
(71)
[Mention, O Muḥammad], the Day We will call forth every people with their record [of deeds]. Then whoever is given his record in his right hand - those will read their records, and injustice will not be done to them, [even] as much as a thread [inside the date seed].

وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
كَانَ
kānais
فِى
in
هَـٰذِهِۦٓ
hādhihithis (world)
أَعْمَىٰ
aʿmāblind
فَهُوَ
fahuwathen he
فِى
in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhiratithe Hereafter
أَعْمَىٰ
aʿmā(will be) blind
وَأَضَلُّ
wa-aḍalluand more astray
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlan(from the) path
٧٢
(72)
And whoever is blind in this [life] will be blind in the Hereafter and more astray in way.

73
وَإِن
wa-inAnd indeed
كَادُوا۟
kādūthey were about (to)
لَيَفْتِنُونَكَ
layaftinūnakatempt you away
عَنِ
ʿanifrom
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhīthat which
أَوْحَيْنَآ
awḥaynāWe revealed
إِلَيْكَ
ilaykato you
لِتَفْتَرِىَ
litaftariyathat you invent
عَلَيْنَا
ʿalaynāabout Us
غَيْرَهُۥ ۖ
ghayrahuother (than) it
وَإِذًۭا
wa-idhanAnd then
لَّٱتَّخَذُوكَ
la-ittakhadhūkasurely they would take you
خَلِيلًۭا
khalīlan(as) a friend
٧٣
(73)
And indeed, they were about to tempt you away from that which We revealed to you in order to [make] you invent about Us something else; and then they would have taken you as a friend.

وَلَوْلَآ
walawlāAnd if not
أَن
an[that]
ثَبَّتْنَـٰكَ
thabbatnākaWe (had) strengthened you
لَقَدْ
laqadcertainly
كِدتَّ
kidttayou almost
تَرْكَنُ
tarkanu(would) have inclined
إِلَيْهِمْ
ilayhimto them
شَيْـًۭٔا
shayan(in) something
قَلِيلًا
qalīlana little
٧٤
(74)
And if We had not strengthened you, you would have almost inclined to them a little.

إِذًۭا
idhanThen
لَّأَذَقْنَـٰكَ
la-adhaqnākaWe (would) have made you taste
ضِعْفَ
ḍiʿ'fadouble
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
l-ḥayati(in) the life
وَضِعْفَ
waḍiʿ'faand double
ٱلْمَمَاتِ
l-mamāti(after) the death
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
لَا
not
تَجِدُ
tajiduyou (would) have found
لَكَ
lakafor you
عَلَيْنَا
ʿalaynāagainst Us
نَصِيرًۭا
naṣīranany helper
٧٥
(75)
Then [if you had], We would have made you taste double [punishment in] life and double [after] death. Then you would not find for yourself against Us a helper.

وَإِن
wa-inAnd indeed
كَادُوا۟
kādūthey were about
لَيَسْتَفِزُّونَكَ
layastafizzūnaka(to) scare you
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe land
لِيُخْرِجُوكَ
liyukh'rijūkathat they evict you
مِنْهَا ۖ
min'hāfrom it
وَإِذًۭا
wa-idhanBut then
لَّا
not
يَلْبَثُونَ
yalbathūnathey (would) have stayed
خِلَـٰفَكَ
khilāfakaafter you
إِلَّا
illāexcept
قَلِيلًۭا
qalīlana little
٧٦
(76)
And indeed, they were about to provoke [i.e., drive] you from the land [i.e., Makkah] to evict you therefrom. And then [when they do], they will not remain [there] after you, except for a little.

سُنَّةَ
sunnata(Such is Our) Way
مَن
man(for) whom
قَدْ
qad[verily]
أَرْسَلْنَا
arsalnāWe sent
قَبْلَكَ
qablakabefore you
مِن
minof
رُّسُلِنَا ۖ
rusulināOur Messengers
وَلَا
walāAnd not
تَجِدُ
tajiduyou will find
لِسُنَّتِنَا
lisunnatinā(in) Our way
تَحْوِيلًا
taḥwīlanany alteration
٧٧
(77)
[That is Our] established way for those We had sent before you of Our messengers; and you will not find in Our way any alteration.

أَقِمِ
aqimiEstablish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
l-ṣalatathe prayer
لِدُلُوكِ
lidulūkiat the decline
ٱلشَّمْسِ
l-shamsi(of) the sun
إِلَىٰ
ilātill
غَسَقِ
ghasaqi(the) darkness
ٱلَّيْلِ
al-layli(of) the night
وَقُرْءَانَ
waqur'ānaand Quran
ٱلْفَجْرِ ۖ
l-fajriat dawn
إِنَّ
innaindeed
قُرْءَانَ
qur'ānathe Quran
ٱلْفَجْرِ
l-fajri(at) the dawn
كَانَ
kānais
مَشْهُودًۭا
mashhūdanever witnessed
٧٨
(78)
Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Qur’ān [i.e., recitation] of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed.

وَمِنَ
waminaAnd from
ٱلَّيْلِ
al-laylithe night
فَتَهَجَّدْ
fatahajjadarise from sleep for prayer
بِهِۦ
bihiwith it
نَافِلَةًۭ
nāfilatan(as) additional
لَّكَ
lakafor you
عَسَىٰٓ
ʿasāit may be
أَن
anthat
يَبْعَثَكَ
yabʿathakawill raise you
رَبُّكَ
rabbukayour Lord
مَقَامًۭا
maqāman(to) a station
مَّحْمُودًۭا
maḥmūdanpraiseworthy
٧٩
(79)
And from [part of] the night, pray with it [i.e., recitation of the Qur’ān] as additional [worship] for you; it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station.

وَقُل
waqulAnd say
رَّبِّ
rabbiMy Lord
أَدْخِلْنِى
adkhil'nīCause me to enter
مُدْخَلَ
mud'khalaan entrance
صِدْقٍۢ
ṣid'qinsound
وَأَخْرِجْنِى
wa-akhrij'nīand cause me to exit
مُخْرَجَ
mukh'rajaan exit
صِدْقٍۢ
ṣid'qinsound
وَٱجْعَل
wa-ij'ʿaland make
لِّى
for me
مِن
minfrom
لَّدُنكَ
ladunkanear You
سُلْطَـٰنًۭا
sul'ṭānanan authority
نَّصِيرًۭا
naṣīranhelping
٨٠
(80)
And say, "My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority."

وَقُلْ
waqulAnd say
جَآءَ
jāaHas come
ٱلْحَقُّ
l-ḥaquthe truth
وَزَهَقَ
wazahaqaand perished
ٱلْبَـٰطِلُ ۚ
l-bāṭiluthe falsehood
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلْبَـٰطِلَ
l-bāṭilathe falsehood
كَانَ
kānais
زَهُوقًۭا
zahūqan(bound) to perish
٨١
(81)
And say, "Truth has come, and falsehood has departed. Indeed is falsehood, [by nature], ever bound to depart."

وَنُنَزِّلُ
wanunazziluAnd We reveal
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ
l-qur'ānithe Quran
مَا
that
هُوَ
huwait
شِفَآءٌۭ
shifāon(is) a healing
وَرَحْمَةٌۭ
waraḥmatunand a mercy
لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۙ
lil'mu'minīnafor the believers
وَلَا
walābut not
يَزِيدُ
yazīduit increases
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
إِلَّا
illāexcept
خَسَارًۭا
khasāran(in) loss
٨٢
(82)
And We send down of the Qur’ān that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.

وَإِذَآ
wa-idhāAnd when
أَنْعَمْنَا
anʿamnāWe bestow favor
عَلَى
ʿalāon
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ
l-insāniman
أَعْرَضَ
aʿraḍahe turns away
وَنَـَٔا
wanaāand becomes remote
بِجَانِبِهِۦ ۖ
bijānibihion his side
وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
مَسَّهُ
massahutouches him
ٱلشَّرُّ
l-sharuthe evil
كَانَ
kānahe is
يَـُٔوسًۭا
yaūsan(in) despair
٨٣
(83)
And when We bestow favor upon man [i.e., the disbeliever], he turns away and distances himself; and when evil touches him, he is ever despairing.

قُلْ
qulSay
كُلٌّۭ
kullunEach
يَعْمَلُ
yaʿmaluworks
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāon
شَاكِلَتِهِۦ
shākilatihihis manner
فَرَبُّكُمْ
farabbukumbut your Lord
أَعْلَمُ
aʿlamu(is) most knowing
بِمَنْ
bimanof who
هُوَ
huwa[he]
أَهْدَىٰ
ahdā(is) best guided
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlan(in) way
٨٤
(84)
Say, "Each works according to his manner, but your Lord is most knowing of who is best guided in way."

وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ
wayasalūnakaAnd they ask you
عَنِ
ʿaniconcerning
ٱلرُّوحِ ۖ
l-rūḥithe soul
قُلِ
quliSay
ٱلرُّوحُ
l-rūḥuThe soul
مِنْ
min(is) of
أَمْرِ
amri(the) affair
رَبِّى
rabbī(of) my Lord
وَمَآ
wamāAnd not
أُوتِيتُم
ūtītumyou have been given
مِّنَ
minaof
ٱلْعِلْمِ
l-ʿil'mithe knowledge
إِلَّا
illāexcept
قَلِيلًۭا
qalīlana little
٨٥
(85)
And they ask you, [O Muḥammad], about the soul. Say, "The soul is of the affair [i.e., concern] of my Lord. And you [i.e., mankind] have not been given of knowledge except a little."

wala-inAnd if
شِئْنَا
shi'nāWe willed
لَنَذْهَبَنَّ
lanadhhabannaWe (would) have surely taken away
بِٱلَّذِىٓ
bi-alladhīthat which
أَوْحَيْنَآ
awḥaynāWe have revealed
إِلَيْكَ
ilaykato you

وَكِيلًا

(86)
And if We willed, We could surely do away with that which We revealed to you. Then you would not find for yourself concerning it an advocate against Us.

Except [We have left it with you] as a mercy from your Lord. Indeed, His favor upon you has ever been great.

وَٱلْجِنُّ

يَأْتُوا۟
yatūbring
بِمِثْلِ
bimith'lithe like
هَـٰذَا
hādhā(of) this
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ
l-qur'āniQuran
لَا
not
يَأْتُونَ
yatūnathey (could) bring
بِمِثْلِهِۦ
bimith'lihithe like of it
وَلَوْ
walaweven if
كَانَ
kānawere
بَعْضُهُمْ
baʿḍuhumsome of them
لِبَعْضٍۢ
libaʿḍinto some others
ظَهِيرًۭا
ẓahīranassistants
٨٨
(88)
Say, "If mankind and the jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Qur’ān, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other assistants."

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd verily
صَرَّفْنَا
ṣarrafnāWe have explained
لِلنَّاسِ
lilnnāsito mankind
فِى

هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ
l-qur'āniQuran
مِن
minfrom
كُلِّ
kullievery
مَثَلٍۢ
mathalinexample
فَأَبَىٰٓ
fa-abābut refused
أَكْثَرُ
aktharumost
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsi(of) the mankind
إِلَّا
illāexcept
كُفُورًۭا
kufūrandisbelief
٨٩
(89)
And We have certainly diversified for the people in this Qur’ān from every [kind of] example, but most of the people refused except disbelief.

وَقَالُوا۟

نُّؤْمِنَ

حَتَّىٰ

تَفْجُرَ

مِنَ

ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
يَنۢبُوعًا
yanbūʿana spring

(90)
And they say, "We will not believe you until you break open for us from the ground a spring

جَنَّةٌۭ
jannatuna garden
مِّن

نَّخِيلٍۢ
nakhīlindate-palms
وَعِنَبٍۢ
waʿinabinand grapes
فَتُفَجِّرَ
fatufajjiraand cause to gush forth
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرَ
l-anhārathe rivers
خِلَـٰلَهَا
khilālahāwithin them
تَفْجِيرًا
tafjīranabundantly
٩١
(91)
Or [until] you have a garden of palm trees and grapes and make rivers gush forth within them in force [and abundance]

tus'qiṭayou cause to fall
ٱلسَّمَآءَ

كَمَا
kamāas
زَعَمْتَ
zaʿamtayou have claimed
عَلَيْنَا

كِسَفًا
kisafan(in) pieces
أَوْ
awor
تَأْتِىَ
tatiyayou bring
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahiAllah
وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ
wal-malāikatiand the Angels
قَبِيلًا
qabīlanbefore (us)
٩٢
(92)
Or you make the heaven fall upon us in fragments as you have claimed or you bring Allāh and the angels before [us]

نُّؤْمِنَ

لِرُقِيِّكَ
liruqiyyikain your ascension
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattāuntil
تُنَزِّلَ
tunazzilayou bring down
عَلَيْنَا
ʿalaynāto us
كِتَـٰبًۭا
kitābana book
نَّقْرَؤُهُۥ ۗ
naqra-uhuwe could read it
قُلْ
qulSay
سُبْحَانَ
sub'ḥānaGlorified (is)
رَبِّى
rabbīmy Lord
هَلْ
halWhat
كُنتُ
kuntuam I
إِلَّا
illābut
بَشَرًۭا
basharana human
رَّسُولًۭا
rasūlana Messenger
٩٣
(93)
Or you have a house of ornament [i.e., gold] or you ascend into the sky. And [even then], we will not believe in your ascension until you bring down to us a book we may read." Say, "Exalted is my Lord! Was I ever but a human messenger?"

abaʿathaHas Allah sent
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuHas Allah sent
بَشَرًۭا
basharana human
رَّسُولًۭا
rasūlanMessenger

(94)
And what prevented the people from believing when guidance came to them except that they said, "Has Allāh sent a human messenger?"

لَنَزَّلْنَا
lanazzalnāsurely We (would) have sent down
عَلَيْهِم
ʿalayhimto them
مِّنَ
minafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāithe heaven
مَلَكًۭا
malakanan Angel
رَّسُولًۭا
rasūlan(as) a Messenger
٩٥
(95)
Say, "If there were upon the earth angels walking securely, We would have sent down to them from the heaven an angel [as a] messenger."

qulSay
كَفَىٰ
kafāSufficient is
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahiAllah
شَهِيدًۢا
shahīdan(as) a witness
بَيْنِى
baynībetween me
وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۚ
wabaynakumand between you
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, He
كَانَ
kānais
بِعِبَادِهِۦ
biʿibādihiof His slaves
خَبِيرًۢا
khabīranAll-Aware
بَصِيرًۭا
baṣīranAll-Seer
٩٦
(96)
Say, "Sufficient is Allāh as Witness between me and you. Indeed He is ever, concerning His servants, Aware and Seeing."

وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
يَهْدِ
yahdiAllah guides
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah guides
فَهُوَ
fahuwathen he (is)
ٱلْمُهْتَدِ ۖ
l-muh'tadithe guided one
وَمَن
wamanand whoever
يُضْلِلْ
yuḍ'lilHe lets go astray
فَلَن
falanthen never
تَجِدَ
tajidayou will find
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
أَوْلِيَآءَ
awliyāaprotectors
مِن
minbesides Him
دُونِهِۦ ۖ
dūnihibesides Him
وَنَحْشُرُهُمْ
wanaḥshuruhumAnd We will gather them
يَوْمَ
yawma(on) the Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāon
وُجُوهِهِمْ
wujūhihimtheir faces
عُمْيًۭا
ʿum'yanblind
وَبُكْمًۭا
wabuk'manand dumb
وَصُمًّۭا ۖ
waṣummanand deaf
مَّأْوَىٰهُمْ
mawāhumTheir abode
جَهَنَّمُ ۖ
jahannamu(is) Hell
كُلَّمَا
kullamāevery time
خَبَتْ
khabatit subsides
زِدْنَـٰهُمْ
zid'nāhumWe (will) increase (for) them
سَعِيرًۭا
saʿīranthe blazing fire
٩٧
(97)
And whoever Allāh guides - he is the [rightly] guided; and whoever He sends astray - you will never find for them protectors besides Him, and We will gather them on the Day of Resurrection [fallen] on their faces - blind, dumb and deaf. Their refuge is Hell; every time it subsides, We increase [for] them blazing fire.

ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikaThat
جَزَآؤُهُم
jazāuhum(is) their recompense
بِأَنَّهُمْ
bi-annahumbecause they
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarūdisbelieved
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
biāyātināin Our Verses
وَقَالُوٓا۟
waqālūand said
أَءِذَا
a-idhāWhen
كُنَّا
kunnāwe are
عِظَـٰمًۭا
ʿiẓāmanbones
وَرُفَـٰتًا
warufātanand crumbled particles
أَءِنَّا
a-innāwill we
لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
lamabʿūthūnasurely (be) resurrected
خَلْقًۭا
khalqan(as) a creation
جَدِيدًا
jadīdannew
٩٨
(98)
That is their recompense because they disbelieved in Our verses and said, "When we are bones and crumbled particles, will we [truly] be resurrected [in] a new creation?"

۞ أَوَلَمْ

يَرَوْا۟
yarawthey see
أَنَّ

ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīthe One Who
خَلَقَ
khalaqacreated
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍaand the earth
قَادِرٌ
qādirun(is) Able
عَلَىٰٓ
ʿalā[on]
أَن
anto
يَخْلُقَ
yakhluqacreate
مِثْلَهُمْ
mith'lahumthe like of them
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʿalaAnd He has made
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
أَجَلًۭا
ajalana term
لَّا
no
رَيْبَ
raybadoubt
فِيهِ
fīhiin it
فَأَبَى
fa-abāBut refused
ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
l-ẓālimūnathe wrongdoers
إِلَّا
illāexcept
كُفُورًۭا
kufūrandisbelief
٩٩
(99)
Do they not see that Allāh, who created the heavens and earth, is [the one] Able to create the likes of them? And He has appointed for them a term, about which there is no doubt. But the wrongdoers refuse except disbelief.

أَنتُمْ

تَمْلِكُونَ

خَزَآئِنَ
khazāinathe treasures
رَحْمَةِ
raḥmati(of) the Mercy
رَبِّىٓ
rabbī(of) my Lord
إِذًۭا
idhanthen
لَّأَمْسَكْتُمْ
la-amsaktumsurely you would withhold
خَشْيَةَ
khashyata(out of) fear
ٱلْإِنفَاقِ ۚ
l-infāqi(of) spending
وَكَانَ
wakānaAnd is
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ
l-insānuman
قَتُورًۭا
qatūranstingy
١٠٠
(100)
Say [to them], "If you possessed the depositories of the mercy of my Lord, then you would withhold out of fear of spending." And ever has man been stingy.

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd certainly
ءَاتَيْنَا
ātaynāWe had given
مُوسَىٰ
mūsāMusa
تِسْعَ
tis'ʿanine
ءَايَـٰتٍۭ
āyātinSigns
بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ ۖ
bayyinātinclear
فَسْـَٔلْ
fasalso ask
بَنِىٓ
banī(the) Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla(the) Children of Israel
إِذْ
idhwhen
جَآءَهُمْ
jāahumhe came to them
فَقَالَ
faqālathen said
لَهُۥ
lahuto him
فِرْعَوْنُ
fir'ʿawnuFiraun
إِنِّى
innīIndeed, I
لَأَظُنُّكَ
la-aẓunnuka[I] think you
يَـٰمُوسَىٰ
yāmūsāO Musa
مَسْحُورًۭا
masḥūran(you are) bewitched
١٠١
(101)
And We had certainly given Moses nine evident signs, so ask the Children of Israel [about] when he came to them and Pharaoh said to him, "Indeed I think, O Moses, that you are affected by magic."

qālaHe said
لَقَدْ
laqadVerily
عَلِمْتَ
ʿalim'tayou have known
مَآ
none
أَنزَلَ
anzalahas sent down
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
hāulāithese
إِلَّا
illāexcept
رَبُّ
rabbu(the) Lord
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍiand the earth
بَصَآئِرَ
baṣāira(as) evidence
وَإِنِّى
wa-innīand indeed, I
لَأَظُنُّكَ
la-aẓunnuka[I] surely think you
يَـٰفِرْعَوْنُ
yāfir'ʿawnuO Firaun
مَثْبُورًۭا
mathbūran(you are) destroyed
١٠٢
(102)
[Moses] said, "You have already known that none has sent down these [signs] except the Lord of the heavens and the earth as evidence, and indeed I think, O Pharaoh, that you are destroyed."

فَأَرَادَ
fa-arādaSo he intended
أَن
anto
يَسْتَفِزَّهُم
yastafizzahumdrive them out
مِّنَ
minafrom
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe land
فَأَغْرَقْنَـٰهُ
fa-aghraqnāhubut We drowned him
وَمَن
wamanand who
مَّعَهُۥ
maʿahu(were) with him
جَمِيعًۭا
jamīʿanall
١٠٣
(103)
So he intended to drive them from the land, but We drowned him and those with him all together.

وَقُلْنَا
waqul'nāAnd We said
مِنۢ
minafter him
بَعْدِهِۦ
baʿdihiafter him
لِبَنِىٓ
libanīto the Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīlato the Children of Israel
ٱسْكُنُوا۟
us'kunūDwell
ٱلْأَرْضَ
l-arḍa(in) the land
فَإِذَا
fa-idhāthen when
جَآءَ
jāacomes
وَعْدُ
waʿdu(the) promise
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhirati(of) the Hereafter
جِئْنَا
ji'nāWe will bring
بِكُمْ
bikumyou
لَفِيفًۭا
lafīfan(as) a mixed crowd
١٠٤
(104)
And We said after him [i.e., Pharaoh] to the Children of Israel, "Dwell in the land, and when there comes the promise [i.e., appointment] of the Hereafter, We will bring you forth in [one] gathering."

وَبِٱلْحَقِّ
wabil-ḥaqiAnd with the truth
أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ
anzalnāhuWe sent it down
وَبِٱلْحَقِّ
wabil-ḥaqiand with the truth
نَزَلَ ۗ
nazalait descended
وَمَآ
wamāAnd not
أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ
arsalnākaWe sent you
إِلَّا
illāexcept
مُبَشِّرًۭا
mubashiran(as) a bearer of glad tidings
وَنَذِيرًۭا
wanadhīranand a warner
١٠٥
(105)
And with the truth We have sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down, and with the truth it has descended. And We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.

وَقُرْءَانًۭا
waqur'ānanAnd the Quran
فَرَقْنَـٰهُ
faraqnāhuWe have divided
لِتَقْرَأَهُۥ
litaqra-ahuthat you might recite it
عَلَى
ʿalāto
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsithe people
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāat
مُكْثٍۢ
muk'thinintervals
وَنَزَّلْنَـٰهُ
wanazzalnāhuAnd We have revealed it
تَنزِيلًۭا
tanzīlan(in) stages
١٠٦
(106)
And [it is] a Qur’ān which We have separated [by intervals] that you might recite it to the people over a prolonged period. And We have sent it down progressively.

قُلْ
qulSay
ءَامِنُوا۟
āminūBelieve
بِهِۦٓ
bihiin it
أَوْ
awor
لَا
(do) not
تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ ۚ
tu'minūbelieve
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
أُوتُوا۟
ūtūwere given
ٱلْعِلْمَ
l-ʿil'mathe knowledge
مِن
minbefore it
قَبْلِهِۦٓ
qablihibefore it
إِذَا
idhāwhen
يُتْلَىٰ
yut'lāit is recited
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhimto them
يَخِرُّونَ
yakhirrūnathey fall
لِلْأَذْقَانِ
lil'adhqānion their faces
سُجَّدًۭا
sujjadan(in) prostration
١٠٧
(107)
Say, "Believe in it or do not believe." Indeed, those who were given knowledge before it - when it is recited to them, they fall upon their faces in prostration,

وَيَقُولُونَ
wayaqūlūnaAnd they say
سُبْحَـٰنَ
sub'ḥānaGlory be to
رَبِّنَآ
rabbināour Lord
إِن
inIndeed
كَانَ
kānais
وَعْدُ
waʿdu(the) promise
رَبِّنَا
rabbinā(of) our Lord
لَمَفْعُولًۭا
lamafʿūlansurely fulfilled
١٠٨
(108)
And they say, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, the promise of our Lord has been fulfilled."

وَيَخِرُّونَ
wayakhirrūnaAnd they fall
لِلْأَذْقَانِ
lil'adhqānion their faces
يَبْكُونَ
yabkūnaweeping
وَيَزِيدُهُمْ
wayazīduhumand it increases them
خُشُوعًۭا ۩
khushūʿan(in) humility
١٠٩
(109)
And they fall upon their faces weeping, and it [i.e., the Qur’ān] increases them in humble submission.

ٱدْعُوا۟
id'ʿūInvoke
ٱللَّهَ

ٱدْعُوا۟

ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ ۖ
l-raḥmānathe Most Gracious
أَيًّۭا
ayyanBy whatever (name)
مَّا
By whatever (name)
تَدْعُوا۟
tadʿūyou invoke
فَلَهُ
falahuto Him (belongs)
ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ
l-asmāuthe Most Beautiful Names
ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ
l-ḥus'nāthe Most Beautiful Names
وَلَا
walāAnd (do) not
تَجْهَرْ
tajharbe loud
بِصَلَاتِكَ
biṣalātikain your prayers
وَلَا
walāand not
تُخَافِتْ
tukhāfitbe silent
بِهَا
bihātherein
وَٱبْتَغِ
wa-ib'taghibut seek
بَيْنَ
baynabetween
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlana way
١١٠
(110)
Say, "Call upon Allāh or call upon the Most Merciful [ar-Raḥmān]. Whichever [name] you call - to Him belong the best names." And do not recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly but seek between that an [intermediate] way.

l-ḥamduAll Praise
لِلَّهِ
lillahi(is) for Allah
ٱلَّذِى

yattakhidhhas not taken
وَلَدًۭا
waladana son
وَلَمْ
walamand not
يَكُن
yakunis
لَّهُۥ
lahufor Him
شَرِيكٌۭ
sharīkuna partner
فِى
in
ٱلْمُلْكِ
l-mul'kithe dominion
وَلَمْ
walamand not
يَكُن
yakunis
لَّهُۥ
lahufor Him
وَلِىٌّۭ
waliyyunany protector
مِّنَ
minaout of
ٱلذُّلِّ ۖ
l-dhuliweakness
وَكَبِّرْهُ
wakabbir'huAnd magnify Him
تَكْبِيرًۢا
takbīran(with all) magnificence
١١١
(111)
And say, "Praise to Allāh, who has not taken a son and has had no partner in [His] dominion and has no [need of a] protector out of weakness; and glorify Him with [great] glorification."
