ذِكْرُdhik'ru(A) mention
رَحْمَتِraḥmati(of the) Mercy
رَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lord
عَبْدَهُۥʿabdahu(to) His servant
زَكَرِيَّآzakariyyāZakariya
٢(2)
[This is] a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zechariah

إِذْidhWhen
نَادَىٰnādāhe called
رَبَّهُۥrabbahu(to) his Lord
نِدَآءًnidāana call
خَفِيًّۭاkhafiyyansecret
٣(3)
When he called to his Lord a private call [i.e., supplication].

قَالَqālaHe said
رَبِّrabbiMy Lord
إِنِّىinnīIndeed, [I]
وَهَنَwahana(have) weakened
ٱلْعَظْمُl-ʿaẓmumy bones
مِنِّىminnīmy bones
وَٱشْتَعَلَwa-ish'taʿalaand flared
ٱلرَّأْسُl-rasu(my) head
شَيْبًۭاshayban(with) white
وَلَمْwalamand not
أَكُنۢakunI have been
بِدُعَآئِكَbiduʿāikain (my) supplication (to) You
رَبِّrabbimy Lord
شَقِيًّۭاshaqiyyanunblessed
٤(4)
He said, "My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy [i.e., disappointed].

وَإِنِّىwa-innīAnd indeed, I
خِفْتُkhif'tu[I] fear
ٱلْمَوَٰلِىَl-mawāliyathe successors
مِنminafter me
وَرَآءِىwarāīafter me
وَكَانَتِwakānatiand is
ٱمْرَأَتِىim'ra-atīmy wife
عَاقِرًۭاʿāqiranbarren
فَهَبْfahabSo give
لِىlī[to] me
مِنminfrom
لَّدُنكَladunkaYourself
وَلِيًّۭاwaliyyanan heir
٥(5)
And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir

يَرِثُنِىyarithunīWho will inherit me
وَيَرِثُwayarithuand inherit
مِنْminfrom
ءَالِāli(the) family
يَعْقُوبَ ۖyaʿqūba(of) Yaqub
وَٱجْعَلْهُwa-ij'ʿalhuAnd make him
رَبِّrabbimy Lord
رَضِيًّۭاraḍiyyanpleasing
٦(6)
Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]."

يَـٰزَكَرِيَّآyāzakariyyāO Zakariya
إِنَّاinnāIndeed, We
نُبَشِّرُكَnubashiruka[We] give you glad tidings
بِغُلَـٰمٍbighulāminof a boy
ٱسْمُهُۥus'muhuhis name
يَحْيَىٰyaḥyā(will be) Yahya
لَمْlamnot
نَجْعَلnajʿalWe (have) assigned
لَّهُۥlahu[for] it
مِنminbefore
قَبْلُqablubefore
سَمِيًّۭاsamiyyan(this) name
٧(7)
[He was told], "O Zechariah, indeed We give you good tidings of a boy whose name will be John. We have not assigned to any before [this] name."

قَالَqālaHe said
رَبِّrabbiMy Lord
أَنَّىٰannāHow
يَكُونُyakūnucan
لِىlīI have
غُلَـٰمٌۭghulāmuna boy
وَكَانَتِwakānatiwhile is
ٱمْرَأَتِىim'ra-atīmy wife
عَاقِرًۭاʿāqiranbarren
وَقَدْwaqadand indeed
بَلَغْتُbalaghtuI have reached
مِنَminaof
ٱلْكِبَرِl-kibarithe old age
عِتِيًّۭاʿitiyyanextreme
٨(8)
He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when my wife has been barren and I have reached extreme old age?"

قَالَqālaHe said
كَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThus
قَالَqālasaid
رَبُّكَrabbukayour Lord
هُوَhuwa'It
عَلَىَّʿalayya(is) easy for Me
هَيِّنٌۭhayyinun(is) easy for Me
وَقَدْwaqadand certainly
خَلَقْتُكَkhalaqtukaI (have) created you
مِنminbefore
قَبْلُqablubefore
وَلَمْwalamwhile not
تَكُtakuyou were
شَيْـًۭٔاshayananything.'
٩(9)
[An angel] said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, for I created you before, while you were nothing.'"

قَالَqālaHe said
رَبِّrabbiMy Lord
ٱجْعَلij'ʿalMake
لِّىٓlīfor me
ءَايَةًۭ ۚāyatana sign
قَالَqālaHe said
ءَايَتُكَāyatukaYour sign
أَلَّاallā(is) that not
تُكَلِّمَtukallimayou will speak
ٱلنَّاسَl-nāsa(to) the people
ثَلَـٰثَthalātha(for) three
لَيَالٍۢlayālinnights
سَوِيًّۭاsawiyyansound
١٠(10)
[Zechariah] said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He said, "Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights, [being] sound."

فَخَرَجَfakharajaThen he came out
عَلَىٰʿalāto
قَوْمِهِۦqawmihihis people
مِنَminafrom
ٱلْمِحْرَابِl-miḥ'rābithe prayer chamber
فَأَوْحَىٰٓfa-awḥāand he signaled
إِلَيْهِمْilayhimto them
أَنanto
سَبِّحُوا۟sabbiḥūglorify (Allah)
بُكْرَةًۭbuk'ratan(in) the morning
وَعَشِيًّۭاwaʿashiyyanand (in) the evening
١١(11)
So he came out to his people from the prayer chamber and signaled to them to exalt [Allāh] in the morning and afternoon.

يَـٰيَحْيَىٰyāyaḥyāO Yahya
خُذِkhudhiHold
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Scripture
بِقُوَّةٍۢ ۖbiquwwatinwith strength
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُwaātaynāhuAnd We gave him
ٱلْحُكْمَl-ḥuk'ma[the] wisdom
صَبِيًّۭاṣabiyyan(when he was) a child
١٢(12)
[Allāh said], "O John, take the Scripture [i.e., adhere to it] with determination." And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy

وَحَنَانًۭاwaḥanānanAnd affection
مِّنminfrom
لَّدُنَّاladunnāUs
وَزَكَوٰةًۭ ۖwazakatanand purity
وَكَانَwakānaand he was
تَقِيًّۭاtaqiyyanrighteous
١٣(13)
And affection from Us and purity, and he was fearing of Allāh

وَبَرًّۢاwabarranAnd dutiful
بِوَٰلِدَيْهِbiwālidayhito his parents
وَلَمْwalamand not
يَكُنyakunhe was
جَبَّارًاjabbārana tyrant
عَصِيًّۭاʿaṣiyyandisobedient
١٤(14)
And dutiful to his parents, and he was not a disobedient tyrant.

وَسَلَـٰمٌwasalāmunAnd peace be
عَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon him
يَوْمَyawma(the) day
وُلِدَwulidahe was born
وَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) day
يَمُوتُyamūtuhe dies
وَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) day
يُبْعَثُyub'ʿathuhe will be raised
حَيًّۭاḥayyanalive
١٥(15)
And peace be upon him the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he is raised alive.

وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mention
فِىfīin
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Book
مَرْيَمَmaryamaMaryam
إِذِidhiwhen
ٱنتَبَذَتْintabadhatshe withdrew
مِنْminfrom
أَهْلِهَاahlihāher family
مَكَانًۭاmakānan(to) a place
شَرْقِيًّۭاsharqiyyaneastern
١٦(16)
And mention, [O Muḥammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east.

فَٱتَّخَذَتْfa-ittakhadhatThen she took
مِنminfrom them
دُونِهِمْdūnihimfrom them
حِجَابًۭاḥijābana screen
فَأَرْسَلْنَآfa-arsalnāThen We sent
إِلَيْهَاilayhāto her
رُوحَنَاrūḥanāOur Spirit
فَتَمَثَّلَfatamathalathen he assumed for her the likeness
لَهَاlahāthen he assumed for her the likeness
بَشَرًۭاbasharan(of) a man
سَوِيًّۭاsawiyyanwell-proportioned
١٧(17)
And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel [i.e., Gabriel], and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man.

قَالَتْqālatShe said
إِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, I
أَعُوذُaʿūdhu[I] seek refuge
بِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِbil-raḥmāniwith the Most Gracious
مِنكَminkafrom you
إِنinif
كُنتَkuntayou are
تَقِيًّۭاtaqiyyanGod fearing
١٨(18)
She said, "Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allāh."

قَالَqālaHe said
إِنَّمَآinnamāOnly
أَنَا۠anāI am
رَسُولُrasūlua Messenger
رَبِّكِrabbiki(from) your Lord
لِأَهَبَli-ahabathat I (may) bestow
لَكِlakion you
غُلَـٰمًۭاghulāmana son
زَكِيًّۭاzakiyyanpure
١٩(19)
He said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy [i.e., son]."

قَالَتْqālatShe said
أَنَّىٰannāHow
يَكُونُyakūnucan be
لِىlīfor me
غُلَـٰمٌۭghulāmuna son
وَلَمْwalamwhen not
يَمْسَسْنِىyamsasnīhas touched me
بَشَرٌۭbasharuna man
وَلَمْwalamand not
أَكُakuI am
بَغِيًّۭاbaghiyyanunchaste
٢٠(20)
She said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?"

قَالَqālaHe said
كَذَٰلِكِkadhālikiThus
قَالَqālasaid
رَبُّكِrabbukiyour Lord
هُوَhuwa'It
عَلَىَّʿalayya(is) for Me
هَيِّنٌۭ ۖhayyinuneasy
وَلِنَجْعَلَهُۥٓwalinajʿalahuand so that We will make him
ءَايَةًۭāyatana sign
لِّلنَّاسِlilnnāsifor the mankind
وَرَحْمَةًۭwaraḥmatanand a Mercy
مِّنَّا ۚminnāfrom Us
وَكَانَwakānaAnd (it) is
أَمْرًۭاamrana matter
مَّقْضِيًّۭاmaqḍiyyandecreed.'
٢١(21)
He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.'"

۞ فَحَمَلَتْهُfaḥamalathuSo she conceived him
فَٱنتَبَذَتْfa-intabadhatand she withdrew
بِهِۦbihiwith him
مَكَانًۭاmakānan(to) a place
قَصِيًّۭاqaṣiyyanremote
٢٢(22)
So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place.

فَأَجَآءَهَاfa-ajāahāThen drove her
ٱلْمَخَاضُl-makhāḍuthe pains of childbirth
إِلَىٰilāto
جِذْعِjidh'ʿi(the) trunk
ٱلنَّخْلَةِl-nakhlati(of) the date-palm
قَالَتْqālatShe said
يَـٰلَيْتَنِىyālaytanīO! I wish
مِتُّmittuI (had) died
قَبْلَqablabefore
هَـٰذَاhādhāthis
وَكُنتُwakuntuand I was
نَسْيًۭاnasyan(in) oblivion
مَّنسِيًّۭاmansiyyanforgotten
٢٣(23)
And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten."

فَنَادَىٰهَاfanādāhāSo cried to her
مِنminfrom
تَحْتِهَآtaḥtihābeneath her
أَلَّاallāThat (do) not
تَحْزَنِىtaḥzanīgrieve
قَدْqadverily
جَعَلَjaʿala(has) placed
رَبُّكِrabbukiyour Lord
تَحْتَكِtaḥtakibeneath you
سَرِيًّۭاsariyyana stream
٢٤(24)
But he called her from below her, "Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream.

وَهُزِّىٓwahuzzīAnd shake
إِلَيْكِilaykitowards you
بِجِذْعِbijidh'ʿi(the) trunk
ٱلنَّخْلَةِl-nakhlati(of) the date-palm
تُسَـٰقِطْtusāqiṭit will drop
عَلَيْكِʿalaykiupon you
رُطَبًۭاruṭabanfresh dates
جَنِيًّۭاjaniyyanripe
٢٥(25)
And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates.

فَكُلِىfakulīSo eat
وَٱشْرَبِىwa-ish'rabīand drink
وَقَرِّىwaqarrīand cool
عَيْنًۭا ۖʿaynan(your) eyes
فَإِمَّاfa-immāAnd if
تَرَيِنَّtarayinnayou see
مِنَminafrom
ٱلْبَشَرِl-basharihuman being
أَحَدًۭاaḥadananyone
فَقُولِىٓfaqūlīthen say
إِنِّىinnīIndeed, I
نَذَرْتُnadhartu[I] have vowed
لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِlilrraḥmānito the Most Gracious
صَوْمًۭاṣawmana fast
فَلَنْfalanso not
أُكَلِّمَukallimaI will speak
ٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmatoday
إِنسِيًّۭاinsiyyan(to any) human being
٢٦(26)
So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, 'Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man.'"

فَأَتَتْfa-atatThen she came
بِهِۦbihiwith him
قَوْمَهَاqawmahā(to) her people
تَحْمِلُهُۥ ۖtaḥmiluhucarrying him
قَالُوا۟qālūThey said
يَـٰمَرْيَمُyāmaryamuO Maryam
لَقَدْlaqadCertainly
جِئْتِji'tiyou (have) brought
شَيْـًۭٔاshayanan amazing thing
فَرِيًّۭاfariyyanan amazing thing
٢٧(27)
Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented.

يَـٰٓأُخْتَyāukh'taO sister
هَـٰرُونَhārūna(of) Harun
مَاmāNot
كَانَkānawas
أَبُوكِabūkiyour father
ٱمْرَأَim'ra-aan evil man
سَوْءٍۢsawinan evil man
وَمَاwamāand not
كَانَتْkānatwas
أُمُّكِummukiyour mother
بَغِيًّۭاbaghiyyanunchaste
٢٨(28)
O sister [i.e., descendant] of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste."

فَأَشَارَتْfa-ashāratThen she pointed
إِلَيْهِ ۖilayhito him
قَالُوا۟qālūThey said
كَيْفَkayfaHow
نُكَلِّمُnukallimu(can) we speak
مَنman(to one) who
كَانَkānais
فِىfīin
ٱلْمَهْدِl-mahdithe cradle
صَبِيًّۭاṣabiyyana child
٢٩(29)
So she pointed to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?"

قَالَqālaHe said
إِنِّىinnīIndeed, I am
عَبْدُʿabdua slave
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
ءَاتَىٰنِىَātāniyaHe gave me
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Scripture
وَجَعَلَنِىwajaʿalanīand made me
نَبِيًّۭاnabiyyana Prophet
٣٠(30)
[Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allāh. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.

وَجَعَلَنِىwajaʿalanīAnd He (has) made me
مُبَارَكًاmubārakanblessed
أَيْنَaynawherever
مَاmāwherever
كُنتُkuntuI am
وَأَوْصَـٰنِىwa-awṣānīand has enjoined (on) me
بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِbil-ṣalati[of] the prayer
وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِwal-zakatiand zakah
مَاmāas long as I am
دُمْتُdum'tuas long as I am
حَيًّۭاḥayyanalive
٣١(31)
And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakāh as long as I remain alive

وَبَرًّۢاwabarranAnd dutiful
بِوَٰلِدَتِىbiwālidatīto my mother
وَلَمْwalamand not
يَجْعَلْنِىyajʿalnīHe (has) made me
جَبَّارًۭاjabbāraninsolent
شَقِيًّۭاshaqiyyanunblessed
٣٢(32)
And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant.

وَٱلسَّلَـٰمُwal-salāmuAnd peace (be)
عَلَىَّʿalayyaon me
يَوْمَyawma(the) day
وُلِدتُّwulidttuI was born
وَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) day
أَمُوتُamūtuI will die
وَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) Day
أُبْعَثُub'ʿathuI will be raised
حَيًّۭاḥayyanalive
٣٣(33)
And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive."

ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat
عِيسَىʿīsā(was) Isa
ٱبْنُub'nu(the) son
مَرْيَمَ ۚmaryama(of) Maryam
قَوْلَqawlaa statement
ٱلْحَقِّl-ḥaqi(of) truth
ٱلَّذِىalladhīthat which
فِيهِfīhiabout it
يَمْتَرُونَyamtarūnathey dispute
٣٤(34)
That is Jesus, the son of Mary - the word of truth about which they are in dispute.

مَاmāNot
كَانَkāna(it) is
لِلَّهِlillahifor Allah
أَنanthat
يَتَّخِذَyattakhidhaHe should take
مِنminany son
وَلَدٍۢ ۖwaladinany son
سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥٓ ۚsub'ḥānahuGlory be to Him
إِذَاidhāWhen
قَضَىٰٓqaḍāHe decrees
أَمْرًۭاamrana matter
فَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen only
يَقُولُyaqūluHe says
لَهُۥlahuto it
كُنkunBe
فَيَكُونُfayakūnuand it is
٣٥(35)
It is not [befitting] for Allāh to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.

وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
رَبِّىrabbī(is) my Lord
وَرَبُّكُمْwarabbukumand your Lord
فَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۚfa-uʿ'budūhuso worship Him
هَـٰذَاhādhāThis
صِرَٰطٌۭṣirāṭun(is) a path
مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭmus'taqīmunstraight
٣٦(36)
[Jesus said], "And indeed, Allāh is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path."

فَٱخْتَلَفَfa-ikh'talafaBut differed
ٱلْأَحْزَابُl-aḥzābuthe sects
مِنۢminfrom among them
بَيْنِهِمْ ۖbaynihimfrom among them
فَوَيْلٌۭfawaylunso woe
لِّلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieve
مِنminfrom
مَّشْهَدِmashhadi(the) witnessing
يَوْمٍyawmin(of) a Day
عَظِيمٍʿaẓīmingreat
٣٧(37)
Then the factions differed [concerning Jesus] from among them, so woe to those who disbelieved - from the scene of a tremendous Day.

أَسْمِعْasmiʿHow they will hear
بِهِمْbihimHow they will hear
وَأَبْصِرْwa-abṣirand how (they will) see
يَوْمَyawma(the) Day
يَأْتُونَنَا ۖyatūnanāthey will come to Us
لَـٰكِنِlākinibut
ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَl-ẓālimūnathe wrongdoers
ٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmatoday
فِىfī(are) in
ضَلَـٰلٍۢḍalālinerror
مُّبِينٍۢmubīninclear
٣٨(38)
How [clearly] they will hear and see the Day they come to Us, but the wrongdoers today are in clear error.

وَأَنذِرْهُمْwa-andhir'humAnd warn them
يَوْمَyawma(of the) Day
ٱلْحَسْرَةِl-ḥasrati(of) the Regret
إِذْidhwhen
قُضِىَquḍiyahas been decided
ٱلْأَمْرُl-amruthe matter
وَهُمْwahumAnd they
فِىfī(are) in
غَفْلَةٍۢghaflatinheedlessness
وَهُمْwahumand they
لَاlā(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
٣٩(39)
And warn them, [O Muḥammad], of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded; and [yet], they are in [a state of] heedlessness, and they do not believe.

إِنَّاinnāIndeed, We
نَحْنُnaḥnu[We]
نَرِثُnarithu[We] will inherit
ٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earth
وَمَنْwamanand whoever
عَلَيْهَاʿalayhā(is) on it
وَإِلَيْنَاwa-ilaynāand to Us
يُرْجَعُونَyur'jaʿūnathey will be returned
٤٠(40)
Indeed, it is We who will inherit the earth and whoever is on it, and to Us they will be returned.

وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mention
فِىfīin
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Book
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۚib'rāhīmaIbrahim
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, he
كَانَkānawas
صِدِّيقًۭاṣiddīqana man of truth
نَّبِيًّاnabiyyana Prophet
٤١(41)
And mention in the Book [the story of] Abraham. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet.

إِذْidhWhen
قَالَqālahe said
لِأَبِيهِli-abīhito his father
يَـٰٓأَبَتِyāabatiO my father
لِمَlimaWhy
تَعْبُدُtaʿbudu(do) you worship
مَاmāthat which
لَاlānot
يَسْمَعُyasmaʿuhears
وَلَاwalāand not
يُبْصِرُyub'ṣirusees
وَلَاwalāand not
يُغْنِىyugh'nībenefits
عَنكَʿanka[to] you
شَيْـًۭٔاshayan(in) anything
٤٢(42)
[Mention] when he said to his father, "O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear and does not see and will not benefit you at all?

يَـٰٓأَبَتِyāabatiO my father
إِنِّىinnīIndeed, [I]
قَدْqadverily
جَآءَنِىjāanī(has) come to me
مِنَminaof
ٱلْعِلْمِl-ʿil'mithe knowledge
مَاmāwhat
لَمْlamnot
يَأْتِكَyatikacame to you
فَٱتَّبِعْنِىٓfa-ittabiʿ'nīso follow me
أَهْدِكَahdikaI will guide you
صِرَٰطًۭاṣirāṭan(to) the path
سَوِيًّۭاsawiyyaneven
٤٣(43)
O my father, indeed there has come to me of knowledge that which has not come to you, so follow me; I will guide you to an even path.

يَـٰٓأَبَتِyāabatiO my father
لَاlā(Do) not
تَعْبُدِtaʿbudiworship
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ ۖl-shayṭānathe Shaitaan
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَl-shayṭānathe Shaitaan
كَانَkānais
لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِlilrraḥmānito the Most Gracious
عَصِيًّۭاʿaṣiyyandisobedient
٤٤(44)
O my father, do not worship [i.e., obey] Satan. Indeed Satan has ever been, to the Most Merciful, disobedient.

يَـٰٓأَبَتِyāabatiO my father
إِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, I
أَخَافُakhāfu[I] fear
أَنanthat
يَمَسَّكَyamassakawill touch you
عَذَابٌۭʿadhābuna punishment
مِّنَminafrom
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Gracious
فَتَكُونَfatakūnaso you would be
لِلشَّيْطَـٰنِlilshayṭānito the Shaitaan
وَلِيًّۭاwaliyyana friend
٤٥(45)
O my father, indeed I fear that there will touch you a punishment from the Most Merciful so you would be to Satan a companion [in Hellfire]."

قَالَqālaHe said
أَرَاغِبٌarāghibunDo you hate
أَنتَantaDo you hate
عَنْʿan(from)
ءَالِهَتِىālihatīmy gods
يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ ۖyāib'rāhīmuO Ibrahim
لَئِنla-inSurely, if
لَّمْlamnot
تَنتَهِtantahiyou desist
لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ ۖla-arjumannakasurely, I will stone you
وَٱهْجُرْنِىwa-uh'jur'nīso leave me
مَلِيًّۭاmaliyyan(for) a prolonged time
٤٦(46)
[His father] said, "Have you no desire for my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I will surely stone you, so avoid me a prolonged time."

قَالَqālaHe said
سَلَـٰمٌsalāmunPeace (be)
عَلَيْكَ ۖʿalaykaon you
سَأَسْتَغْفِرُsa-astaghfiruI will ask forgiveness
لَكَlakafor you
رَبِّىٓ ۖrabbī(from) my Lord
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, He
كَانَkānais
بِىbīto me
حَفِيًّۭاḥafiyyanEver Gracious
٤٧(47)
[Abraham] said, "Peace [i.e., safety] will be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you of my Lord. Indeed, He is ever gracious to me.

وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْwa-aʿtazilukumAnd I will leave you
وَمَاwamāand what
تَدْعُونَtadʿūnayou invoke
مِنminbesides
دُونِdūnibesides
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
وَأَدْعُوا۟wa-adʿūand I will invoke
رَبِّىrabbīmy Lord
عَسَىٰٓʿasāMay be
أَلَّآallāthat not
أَكُونَakūnaI will be
بِدُعَآءِbiduʿāiin invocation
رَبِّىrabbī(to) my Lord
شَقِيًّۭاshaqiyyanunblessed
٤٨(48)
And I will leave you and those you invoke other than Allāh and will invoke my Lord. I expect that I will not be in invocation to my Lord unhappy [i.e., disappointed]."

فَلَمَّاfalammāSo when
ٱعْتَزَلَهُمْiʿ'tazalahumhe left them
وَمَاwamāand what
يَعْبُدُونَyaʿbudūnathey worshipped
مِنminbesides Allah
دُونِdūnibesides Allah
ٱللَّهِl-lahibesides Allah
وَهَبْنَاwahabnā[and] We bestowed
لَهُۥٓlahu[to] him
إِسْحَـٰقَis'ḥāqaIsaac
وَيَعْقُوبَ ۖwayaʿqūbaand Yaqub
وَكُلًّۭاwakullanand each (of them)
جَعَلْنَاjaʿalnāWe made
نَبِيًّۭاnabiyyana Prophet
٤٩(49)
So when he had left them and those they worshipped other than Allāh, We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and each [of them] We made a prophet.

وَوَهَبْنَاwawahabnāAnd We bestowed
لَهُمlahumto them
مِّنminof
رَّحْمَتِنَاraḥmatināOur Mercy
وَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāand We made
لَهُمْlahumfor them
لِسَانَlisānaa truthful mention
صِدْقٍṣid'qina truthful mention
عَلِيًّۭاʿaliyyanhigh
٥٠(50)
And We gave them of Our mercy, and We made for them a mention [i.e., reputation] of high honor.

وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mention
فِىfīin
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Book
مُوسَىٰٓ ۚmūsāMusa
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, he
كَانَkānawas
مُخْلَصًۭاmukh'laṣanchosen
وَكَانَwakānaand was
رَسُولًۭاrasūlana Messenger
نَّبِيًّۭاnabiyyana Prophet
٥١(51)
And mention in the Book, Moses. Indeed, he was chosen, and he was a messenger and a prophet.

وَنَـٰدَيْنَـٰهُwanādaynāhuAnd We called him
مِنminfrom
جَانِبِjānibi(the) side
ٱلطُّورِl-ṭūri(of) the Mount
ٱلْأَيْمَنِl-aymanithe right
وَقَرَّبْنَـٰهُwaqarrabnāhuand brought him near
نَجِيًّۭاnajiyyan(for) conversation
٥٢(52)
And We called him from the side of the mount at [his] right and brought him near, confiding [to him].

وَوَهَبْنَاwawahabnāAnd We bestowed
لَهُۥlahu[to] him
مِنminfrom
رَّحْمَتِنَآraḥmatināOur Mercy
أَخَاهُakhāhuhis brother
هَـٰرُونَhārūnaHarun
نَبِيًّۭاnabiyyana Prophet
٥٣(53)
And We gave him out of Our mercy his brother Aaron as a prophet.

وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mention
فِىfīin
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Book
إِسْمَـٰعِيلَ ۚis'māʿīlaIshmael
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, he
كَانَkānawas
صَادِقَṣādiqatrue
ٱلْوَعْدِl-waʿdi(to his) promise
وَكَانَwakānaand was
رَسُولًۭاrasūlana Messenger
نَّبِيًّۭاnabiyyana Prophet
٥٤(54)
And mention in the Book, Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise, and he was a messenger and a prophet.

وَكَانَwakānaAnd he used
يَأْمُرُyamuru(to) enjoin
أَهْلَهُۥahlahu(on) his people
بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِbil-ṣalatithe prayer
وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِwal-zakatiand zakah
وَكَانَwakānaand was
عِندَʿindanear
رَبِّهِۦrabbihihis Lord
مَرْضِيًّۭاmarḍiyyanpleasing
٥٥(55)
And he used to enjoin on his people prayer and zakāh and was to his Lord pleasing [i.e., accepted by Him].

وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mention
فِىfīin
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Book
إِدْرِيسَ ۚid'rīsaIdris
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, he
كَانَkānawas
صِدِّيقًۭاṣiddīqantruthful
نَّبِيًّۭاnabiyyana Prophet
٥٦(56)
And mention in the Book, Idrees. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet.

وَرَفَعْنَـٰهُwarafaʿnāhuAnd We raised him
مَكَانًاmakānan(to) a position
عَلِيًّاʿaliyyanhigh
٥٧(57)
And We raised him to a high station.

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(were) the ones whom
أَنْعَمَanʿamaAllah bestowed favor
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah bestowed favor
عَلَيْهِمʿalayhimupon them
مِّنَminafrom (among)
ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَl-nabiyīnathe Prophets
مِنminof
ذُرِّيَّةِdhurriyyati(the) offspring
ءَادَمَādama(of) Adam
وَمِمَّنْwamimmanand of those
حَمَلْنَاḥamalnāWe carried
مَعَmaʿawith
نُوحٍۢnūḥinNuh
وَمِنwaminand of
ذُرِّيَّةِdhurriyyati(the) offspring
إِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīma(of) Ibrahim
وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَwa-is'rāīlaand Israel
وَمِمَّنْwamimmanand of (those) whom
هَدَيْنَاhadaynāWe guided
وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ ۚwa-ij'tabaynāand We chose
إِذَاidhāWhen
تُتْلَىٰtut'lāwere recited
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto them
ءَايَـٰتُāyātu(the) Verses
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāni(of) the Most Gracious
خَرُّوا۟kharrūthey fell
سُجَّدًۭاsujjadanprostrating
وَبُكِيًّۭا ۩wabukiyyanand weeping
٥٨(58)
Those were the ones upon whom Allāh bestowed favor from among the prophets of the descendants of Adam and of those We carried [in the ship] with Noah, and of the descendants of Abraham and Israel [i.e., Jacob], and of those whom We guided and chose. When the verses of the Most Merciful were recited to them, they fell in prostration and weeping.

۞ فَخَلَفَfakhalafaThen succeeded
مِنۢminafter them
بَعْدِهِمْbaʿdihimafter them
خَلْفٌkhalfunsuccessors
أَضَاعُوا۟aḍāʿūwho neglected
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَl-ṣalatathe prayer
وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟wa-ittabaʿūand they followed
ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ ۖl-shahawātithe lusts
فَسَوْفَfasawfaso soon
يَلْقَوْنَyalqawnathey will meet
غَيًّاghayyanevil
٥٩(59)
But there came after them successors [i.e., later generations] who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil -

إِلَّاillāExcept
مَنman(one) who
تَابَtābarepented
وَءَامَنَwaāmanaand believed
وَعَمِلَwaʿamilaand did
صَـٰلِحًۭاṣāliḥangood (deeds)
فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَfa-ulāikaThen those
يَدْخُلُونَyadkhulūnawill enter
ٱلْجَنَّةَl-janataParadise
وَلَاwalāand not
يُظْلَمُونَyuẓ'lamūnathey will be wronged
شَيْـًۭٔاshayan(in) anything
٦٠(60)
Except those who repent, believe and do righteousness; for those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all.

جَنَّـٰتِjannātiGardens
عَدْنٍʿadnin(of) Eden
ٱلَّتِىallatīwhich
وَعَدَwaʿadapromised
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Gracious
عِبَادَهُۥʿibādahu(to) His slaves
بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۚbil-ghaybiin the unseen
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, [it]
كَانَkānais
وَعْدُهُۥwaʿduhuHis promise
مَأْتِيًّۭاmatiyyansure to come
٦١(61)
[Therein are] gardens of perpetual residence which the Most Merciful has promised His servants in the unseen. Indeed, His promise has ever been eminent.

لَّاlāNot
يَسْمَعُونَyasmaʿūnathey will hear
فِيهَاfīhātherein
لَغْوًاlaghwanvain talk
إِلَّاillābut
سَلَـٰمًۭا ۖsalāmanpeace
وَلَهُمْwalahumAnd for them
رِزْقُهُمْriz'quhum(is) their provision
فِيهَاfīhātherein
بُكْرَةًۭbuk'ratanmorning
وَعَشِيًّۭاwaʿashiyyanand evening
٦٢(62)
They will not hear therein any ill speech - only [greetings of] peace - and they will have their provision therein, morning and afternoon.

تِلْكَtil'kaThis
ٱلْجَنَّةُl-janatu(is) Paradise
ٱلَّتِىallatīwhich
نُورِثُnūrithuWe give (as) inheritance
مِنْmin[of] (to)
عِبَادِنَاʿibādināOur slaves
مَنman(the one) who
كَانَkānais
تَقِيًّۭاtaqiyyanrighteous
٦٣(63)
That is Paradise, which We give as inheritance to those of Our servants who were fearing of Allāh.

وَمَاwamāAnd not
نَتَنَزَّلُnatanazzaluwe descend
إِلَّاillāexcept
بِأَمْرِbi-amriby (the) Command
رَبِّكَ ۖrabbika(of) your Lord
لَهُۥlahuTo Him (belongs)
مَاmāwhat
بَيْنَbayna(is) before us
أَيْدِينَاaydīnā(is) before us
وَمَاwamāand what
خَلْفَنَاkhalfanā(is) behind us
وَمَاwamāand what
بَيْنَbayna(is) between
ذَٰلِكَ ۚdhālikathat
وَمَاwamāAnd not
كَانَkānais
رَبُّكَrabbukayour Lord
نَسِيًّۭاnasiyyanforgetful
٦٤(64)
[Gabriel said], "And we [angels] descend not except by the order of your Lord. To Him belongs that before us and that behind us and what is in between. And never is your Lord forgetful -

رَّبُّrabbuLord
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earth
وَمَاwamāand whatever
بَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā(is) between both of them
فَٱعْبُدْهُfa-uʿ'bud'huso worship Him
وَٱصْطَبِرْwa-iṣ'ṭabirand be constant
لِعِبَـٰدَتِهِۦ ۚliʿibādatihiin His worship
هَلْhalDo
تَعْلَمُtaʿlamuyou know
لَهُۥlahufor Him
سَمِيًّۭاsamiyyanany similarity
٦٥(65)
Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them - so worship Him and have patience for His worship. Do you know of any similarity to Him?"

وَيَقُولُwayaqūluAnd says
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُl-insānu[the] man
أَءِذَاa-idhāWhat! When
مَاmāWhat! When
مِتُّmittuI am dead
لَسَوْفَlasawfasurely will
أُخْرَجُukh'rajuI be brought forth
حَيًّاḥayyanalive
٦٦(66)
And man [i.e., the disbeliever] says, "When I have died, am I going to be brought forth alive?"

أَوَلَاawalāDoes not
يَذْكُرُyadhkururemember
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُl-insānu[the] man
أَنَّاannāthat We
خَلَقْنَـٰهُkhalaqnāhuWe created him
مِنminbefore
قَبْلُqablubefore
وَلَمْwalamwhile not
يَكُyakuhe was
شَيْـًۭٔاshayananything
٦٧(67)
Does man not remember that We created him before, while he was nothing?
Juz 16Page 310
فَوَرَبِّكَfawarabbikaSo by your Lord
لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْlanaḥshurannahumsurely, We will gather them
وَٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَwal-shayāṭīnaand the devils
ثُمَّthummathen
لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْlanuḥ'ḍirannahumsurely, We will bring them
حَوْلَḥawlaaround
جَهَنَّمَjahannamaHell
جِثِيًّۭاjithiyyanbent (on) knees
٦٨(68)
So by your Lord, We will surely gather them and the devils; then We will bring them to be present around Hell upon their knees.

ثُمَّthummaThen
لَنَنزِعَنَّlananziʿannasurely, We will drag out
مِنminfrom
كُلِّkullievery
شِيعَةٍshīʿatinsect
أَيُّهُمْayyuhumthose of them
أَشَدُّashaddu(who were) worst
عَلَىʿalāagainst
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Gracious
عِتِيًّۭاʿitiyyan(in) rebellion
٦٩(69)
Then We will surely extract from every sect those of them who were worst against the Most Merciful in insolence.

ثُمَّthummaThen
لَنَحْنُlanaḥnusurely, We
أَعْلَمُaʿlamuknow best
بِٱلَّذِينَbi-alladhīna[of] those who
هُمْhum[they]
أَوْلَىٰawlā(are) most worthy
بِهَاbihātherein
صِلِيًّۭاṣiliyyan(of) being burnt
٧٠(70)
Then, surely it is We who are most knowing of those most worthy of burning therein.

وَإِنwa-inAnd (there is) not
مِّنكُمْminkum(any) of you
إِلَّاillābut
وَارِدُهَا ۚwāriduhā(will be) passing over it
كَانَkāna(This) is
عَلَىٰʿalāupon
رَبِّكَrabbikayour Lord
حَتْمًۭاḥatmanan inevitability
مَّقْضِيًّۭاmaqḍiyyandecreed
٧١(71)
And there is none of you except he will come to it. This is upon your Lord an inevitability decreed.

ثُمَّthummaThen
نُنَجِّىnunajjīWe will deliver
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ٱتَّقَوا۟ittaqawfeared (Allah)
وَّنَذَرُwanadharuand We will leave
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
فِيهَاfīhātherein
جِثِيًّۭاjithiyyanbent (on) knees
٧٢(72)
Then We will save those who feared Allāh and leave the wrongdoers within it, on their knees.

وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd when
تُتْلَىٰtut'lāare recited
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto them
ءَايَـٰتُنَاāyātunāOur Verses
بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢbayyinātinclear
قَالَqālasay
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieved
لِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those who
ءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanūbelieved
أَىُّayyuWhich
ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِl-farīqayni(of) the two groups
خَيْرٌۭkhayrun(is) better
مَّقَامًۭاmaqāman(in) position
وَأَحْسَنُwa-aḥsanuand best
نَدِيًّۭاnadiyyan(in) assembly
٧٣(73)
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Which of [our] two parties is best in position and best in association?"

وَكَمْwakamAnd how many
أَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe destroyed
قَبْلَهُمqablahumbefore them
مِّنminof
قَرْنٍqarnina generation
هُمْhumthey
أَحْسَنُaḥsanu(were) better
أَثَـٰثًۭاathāthan(in) possessions
وَرِءْيًۭاwari'yanand appearance
٧٤(74)
And how many a generation have We destroyed before them who were better in possessions and [outward] appearance?

قُلْqulSay
مَنmanWhoever
كَانَkānais
فِىfīin
ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةِl-ḍalālati[the] error
فَلْيَمْدُدْfalyamdudthen surely will extend
لَهُlahufor him
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Gracious
مَدًّا ۚmaddanan extension
حَتَّىٰٓḥattāuntil
إِذَاidhāwhen
رَأَوْا۟ra-awthey see
مَاmāwhat
يُوعَدُونَyūʿadūnathey were promised
إِمَّاimmāeither
ٱلْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishment
وَإِمَّاwa-immāor
ٱلسَّاعَةَl-sāʿatathe Hour
فَسَيَعْلَمُونَfasayaʿlamūnathen they will know
مَنْmanwho
هُوَhuwa[he]
شَرٌّۭsharrun(is) worst
مَّكَانًۭاmakānan(in) position
وَأَضْعَفُwa-aḍʿafuand weaker
جُندًۭاjundan(in) forces
٧٥(75)
Say, "Whoever is in error - let the Most Merciful extend for him an extension [in wealth and time] until, when they see that which they were promised - either punishment [in this world] or the Hour [of resurrection] - they will come to know who is worst in position and weaker in soldiers."

وَيَزِيدُwayazīduAnd Allah increases
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah increases
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ih'tadawaccept guidance
هُدًۭى ۗhudan(in) guidance
وَٱلْبَـٰقِيَـٰتُwal-bāqiyātuAnd the everlasting
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُl-ṣāliḥātugood deeds
خَيْرٌkhayrun(are) better
عِندَʿindanear
رَبِّكَrabbikayour Lord
ثَوَابًۭاthawāban(for) reward
وَخَيْرٌۭwakhayrunand better
مَّرَدًّاmaraddan(for) return
٧٦(76)
And Allāh increases those who were guided, in guidance, and the enduring good deeds are better to your Lord for reward and better for recourse.

أَفَرَءَيْتَafara-aytaThen, have you seen
ٱلَّذِىalladhīhe who
كَفَرَkafaradisbelieved
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاbiāyātināin Our Verses
وَقَالَwaqālaand said
لَأُوتَيَنَّlaūtayannaSurely, I will be given
مَالًۭاmālanwealth
وَوَلَدًاwawaladanand children
٧٧(77)
Then, have you seen he who disbelieved in Our verses and said, "I will surely be given wealth and children [in the next life]"?

أَطَّلَعَaṭṭalaʿaHas he looked
ٱلْغَيْبَl-ghayba(into) the unseen
أَمِamior
ٱتَّخَذَittakhadhahas he taken
عِندَʿindafrom
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Gracious
عَهْدًۭاʿahdana promise
٧٨(78)
Has he looked into the unseen, or has he taken from the Most Merciful a promise?

كَلَّا ۚkallāNay
سَنَكْتُبُsanaktubuWe will record
مَاmāwhat
يَقُولُyaqūluhe says
وَنَمُدُّwanamudduand We will extend
لَهُۥlahufor him
مِنَminafrom
ٱلْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābithe punishment
مَدًّۭاmaddanextensively
٧٩(79)
No! We will record what he says and extend [i.e., increase] for him from the punishment extensively.

وَنَرِثُهُۥwanarithuhuAnd We will inherit (from) him
مَاmāwhat
يَقُولُyaqūluhe says
وَيَأْتِينَاwayatīnāand he will come to Us
فَرْدًۭاfardanalone
٨٠(80)
And We will inherit him [in] what he mentions, and he will come to Us alone.

وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟wa-ittakhadhūAnd they have taken
مِنminbesides Allah
دُونِdūnibesides Allah
ٱللَّهِl-lahibesides Allah
ءَالِهَةًۭālihatangods
لِّيَكُونُوا۟liyakūnūthat they may be
لَهُمْlahumfor them
عِزًّۭاʿizzanan honor
٨١(81)
And they have taken besides Allāh [false] deities that they would be for them [a source of] honor.

كَلَّا ۚkallāNay
سَيَكْفُرُونَsayakfurūnathey will deny
بِعِبَادَتِهِمْbiʿibādatihimtheir worship (of them)
وَيَكُونُونَwayakūnūnaand they will be
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimagainst them
ضِدًّاḍiddanopponents
٨٢(82)
No! They [i.e., those "gods"] will deny their worship of them and will be against them opponents [on the Day of Judgement].

أَلَمْalamDo not
تَرَtarayou see
أَنَّآannāthat We
أَرْسَلْنَاarsalnā[We] have sent
ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَl-shayāṭīnathe devils
عَلَىʿalāupon
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
تَؤُزُّهُمْta-uzzuhuminciting them
أَزًّۭاazzan(with) incitement
٨٣(83)
Do you not see that We have sent the devils upon the disbelievers, inciting them [to evil] with [constant] incitement?

فَلَاfalāSo (do) not
تَعْجَلْtaʿjalmake haste
عَلَيْهِمْ ۖʿalayhimagainst them
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnly
نَعُدُّnaʿudduWe count
لَهُمْlahumfor them
عَدًّۭاʿaddana number
٨٤(84)
So be not impatient over them. We only count out [i.e., allow] to them a [limited] number.

يَوْمَyawma(The) Day
نَحْشُرُnaḥshuruWe will gather
ٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīnathe righteous
إِلَىilāto
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Gracious
وَفْدًۭاwafdan(as) a delegation
٨٥(85)
On the Day We will gather the righteous to the Most Merciful as a delegation

وَنَسُوقُwanasūquAnd We will drive
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَl-muj'rimīnathe criminals
إِلَىٰilāto
جَهَنَّمَjahannamaHell
وِرْدًۭاwir'danthirsty
٨٦(86)
And will drive the criminals to Hell in thirst

لَّاlāNot
يَمْلِكُونَyamlikūnathey will have the power
ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةَl-shafāʿata(of) the intercession
إِلَّاillāexcept
مَنِmani(he) who
ٱتَّخَذَittakhadhahas taken
عِندَʿindafrom
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Gracious
عَهْدًۭاʿahdana covenant
٨٧(87)
None will have [power of] intercession except he who had taken from the Most Merciful a covenant.

وَقَالُوا۟waqālūAnd they say
ٱتَّخَذَittakhadhaHas taken
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Gracious
وَلَدًۭاwaladana son
٨٨(88)
And they say, "The Most Merciful has taken [for Himself] a son."

لَّقَدْlaqadVerily
جِئْتُمْji'tumyou have put forth
شَيْـًٔاshayana thing
إِدًّۭاiddanatrocious
٨٩(89)
You have done an atrocious thing.

تَكَادُtakāduAlmost
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُl-samāwātuthe heavens
يَتَفَطَّرْنَyatafaṭṭarnaget torn
مِنْهُmin'hutherefrom
وَتَنشَقُّwatanshaqquand splits asunder
ٱلْأَرْضُl-arḍuthe earth
وَتَخِرُّwatakhirruand collapse
ٱلْجِبَالُl-jibāluthe mountain
هَدًّاhaddan(in) devastation
٩٠(90)
The heavens almost rupture therefrom and the earth splits open and the mountains collapse in devastation

أَنanThat
دَعَوْا۟daʿawthey invoke
لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِlilrraḥmānito the Most Gracious
وَلَدًۭاwaladana son
٩١(91)
That they attribute to the Most Merciful a son.

وَمَاwamāAnd not
يَنۢبَغِىyanbaghīis appropriate
لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِlilrraḥmānifor the Most Gracious
أَنanthat
يَتَّخِذَyattakhidhaHe should take
وَلَدًاwaladana son
٩٢(92)
And it is not appropriate for the Most Merciful that He should take a son.

إِنinNot
كُلُّkulluall
مَنmanwho
فِىfī(are) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earth
إِلَّآillābut
ءَاتِىātī(will) come
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāni(to) the Most Gracious
عَبْدًۭاʿabdan(as) a slave
٩٣(93)
There is no one in the heavens and earth but that he comes to the Most Merciful as a servant.

لَّقَدْlaqadVerily
أَحْصَىٰهُمْaḥṣāhumHe has enumerated them
وَعَدَّهُمْwaʿaddahumand counted them
عَدًّۭاʿaddana counting
٩٤(94)
He has enumerated them and counted them a [full] counting.

وَكُلُّهُمْwakulluhumAnd all of them
ءَاتِيهِātīhi(will) come (to) Him
يَوْمَyawma(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
فَرْدًاfardanalone
٩٥(95)
And all of them are coming to Him on the Day of Resurrection alone.

إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieved
وَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand did
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥātigood deeds
سَيَجْعَلُsayajʿaluwill bestow
لَهُمُlahumufor them
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Gracious
وُدًّۭاwuddanaffection
٩٦(96)
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - the Most Merciful will appoint for them affection.

فَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāSo, only
يَسَّرْنَـٰهُyassarnāhuWe (have) made it easy
بِلِسَانِكَbilisānikain your tongue
لِتُبَشِّرَlitubashirathat you may give glad tidings
بِهِbihiwith it
ٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīna(to) the righteous
وَتُنذِرَwatundhiraand warn
بِهِۦbihiwith it
قَوْمًۭاqawmana people
لُّدًّۭاluddanhostile
٩٧(97)
So, [O Muḥammad], We have only made it [i.e., the Qur’ān] easy in your tongue [i.e., the Arabic language] that you may give good tidings thereby to the righteous and warn thereby a hostile people.

وَكَمْwakamAnd how many
أَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe (have) destroyed
قَبْلَهُمqablahumbefore them
مِّنminof
قَرْنٍqarnina generation
هَلْhalCan
تُحِسُّtuḥissuyou perceive
مِنْهُمmin'humof them
مِّنْminany
أَحَدٍaḥadinone
أَوْawor
تَسْمَعُtasmaʿuhear
لَهُمْlahumfrom them
رِكْزًۢاrik'zana sound
٩٨(98)
And how many have We destroyed before them of generations? Do you perceive of them anyone or hear from them a sound?
