تَبَارَكَ
tabārakaBlessed is He
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīWho
نَزَّلَ
nazzalasent down
ٱلْفُرْقَانَ
l-fur'qānathe Criterion
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāupon
عَبْدِهِۦ
ʿabdihiHis slave
لِيَكُونَ
liyakūnathat he may be
لِلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
lil'ʿālamīnato the worlds
نَذِيرًا
nadhīrana warner
١
(1)
Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His Servant that he may be to the worlds a warner -

ٱلَّذِى
alladhīThe One Who
لَهُۥ
lahuto Him (belongs)
مُلْكُ
mul'ku(the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍiand the earth
وَلَمْ
walamand not
يَتَّخِذْ
yattakhidhHe has taken
وَلَدًۭا
waladana son
وَلَمْ
walamand not
يَكُن
yakunHe has
لَّهُۥ
lahufor Him
شَرِيكٌۭ
sharīkuna partner
فِى
in
ٱلْمُلْكِ
l-mul'kithe dominion
وَخَلَقَ
wakhalaqaand He (has) created
كُلَّ
kullaevery
شَىْءٍۢ
shayinthing
فَقَدَّرَهُۥ
faqaddarahuand determined it
تَقْدِيرًۭا
taqdīran(with) determination
٢
(2)
He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and who has not taken a son and has not had a partner in dominion and has created each thing and determined it with [precise] determination.

وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟
wa-ittakhadhūYet they have taken
مِن
minbesides Him
دُونِهِۦٓ
dūnihibesides Him
ءَالِهَةًۭ
ālihatangods
لَّا
not
يَخْلُقُونَ
yakhluqūnathey create
شَيْـًۭٔا
shayananything
وَهُمْ
wahumwhile they
يُخْلَقُونَ
yukh'laqūnaare created
وَلَا
walāand not
يَمْلِكُونَ
yamlikūnathey possess
لِأَنفُسِهِمْ
li-anfusihimfor themselves
ضَرًّۭا
ḍarranany harm
وَلَا
walāand not
نَفْعًۭا
nafʿanany benefit
وَلَا
walāand not
يَمْلِكُونَ
yamlikūnathey control
مَوْتًۭا
mawtandeath
وَلَا
walāand not
حَيَوٰةًۭ
ḥayatanlife
وَلَا
walāand not
نُشُورًۭا
nushūranresurrection
٣
(3)
But they have taken besides Him gods which create nothing, while they are created, and possess not for themselves any harm or benefit and possess not [power to cause] death or life or resurrection.

وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd say
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوٓا۟
kafarūdisbelieve
إِنْ
inNot
هَـٰذَآ
hādhāthis
إِلَّآ
illā(is) but
إِفْكٌ
if'kuna lie
ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ
if'tarāhuhe invented it
وَأَعَانَهُۥ
wa-aʿānahuand helped him
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhiat it
قَوْمٌ
qawmunpeople
ءَاخَرُونَ ۖ
ākharūnaother
فَقَدْ
faqadBut verily
جَآءُو
jāūthey (have) produced
ظُلْمًۭا
ẓul'manan injustice
وَزُورًۭا
wazūranand a lie
٤
(4)
And those who disbelieve say, "This [Qur’ān] is not except a falsehood he invented, and another people assisted him in it." But they have committed an injustice and a lie.

وَقَالُوٓا۟
waqālūAnd they say
أَسَـٰطِيرُ
asāṭīruTales
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
l-awalīna(of) the former people
ٱكْتَتَبَهَا
ik'tatabahāwhich he has had written
فَهِىَ
fahiyaand they
تُمْلَىٰ
tum'lāare dictated
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhito him
بُكْرَةًۭ
buk'ratanmorning
وَأَصِيلًۭا
wa-aṣīlanand evening
٥
(5)
And they say, "Legends of the former peoples which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon."

قُلْ
qulSay
أَنزَلَهُ
anzalahuHas sent it down
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīthe One Who
يَعْلَمُ
yaʿlamuknows
ٱلسِّرَّ
l-sirathe secret
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ
wal-arḍiand the earth
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, He
كَانَ
kānais
غَفُورًۭا
ghafūranOft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًۭا
raḥīmanMost Merciful
٦
(6)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "It has been revealed by He who knows [every] secret within the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving and Merciful."

وَقَالُوا۟
waqālūAnd they say
مَالِ
māliWhy does
هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
ٱلرَّسُولِ
l-rasūliMessenger
يَأْكُلُ
yakulueat
ٱلطَّعَامَ
l-ṭaʿāma[the] food
وَيَمْشِى
wayamshīand walk
فِى
in
ٱلْأَسْوَاقِ ۙ
l-aswāqithe markets
لَوْلَآ
lawlāWhy not
أُنزِلَ
unzilais sent down
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhito him
مَلَكٌۭ
malakunan Angel
فَيَكُونَ
fayakūnathen he be
مَعَهُۥ
maʿahuwith him
نَذِيرًا
nadhīrana warner
٧
(7)
And they say, "What is this messenger that eats food and walks in the markets? Why was there not sent down to him an angel so he would be with him a warner?

أَوْ
awOr
يُلْقَىٰٓ
yul'qāis delivered
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhito him
كَنزٌ
kanzuna treasure
أَوْ
awor
تَكُونُ
takūnuis
لَهُۥ
lahufor him
جَنَّةٌۭ
jannatuna garden
يَأْكُلُ
yakuluhe may eat
مِنْهَا ۚ
min'hāfrom it
وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd say
ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
l-ẓālimūnathe wrongdoers
إِن
inNot
تَتَّبِعُونَ
tattabiʿūnayou follow
إِلَّا
illābut
رَجُلًۭا
rajulana man
مَّسْحُورًا
masḥūranbewitched
٨
(8)
Or [why is not] a treasure presented to him [from heaven], or does he [not] have a garden from which he eats?" And the wrongdoers say, "You follow not but a man affected by magic."

ٱنظُرْ
unẓurSee
كَيْفَ
kayfahow
ضَرَبُوا۟
ḍarabūthey set forth
لَكَ
lakafor you
ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ
l-amthālathe similitudes
فَضَلُّوا۟
faḍallūbut they have gone astray
فَلَا
falāso not
يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
yastaṭīʿūnathey are able (to find)
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlana way
٩
(9)
Look how they strike for you comparisons; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way.

تَبَارَكَ
tabārakaBlessed is He
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhīWho
إِن
inif
شَآءَ
shāaHe willed
جَعَلَ
jaʿala(could have) made
لَكَ
lakafor you
خَيْرًۭا
khayranbetter
مِّن
minthan
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
جَنَّـٰتٍۢ
jannātingardens
تَجْرِى
tajrīflow
مِن
minfrom
تَحْتِهَا
taḥtihāunderneath it
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ
l-anhāruthe rivers
وَيَجْعَل
wayajʿaland He (could) make
لَّكَ
lakafor you
قُصُورًۢا
quṣūranpalaces
١٠
(10)
Blessed is He who, if He willed, could have made for you [something] better than that - gardens beneath which rivers flow - and could make for you palaces.

بَلْ
balNay
كَذَّبُوا۟
kadhabūthey deny
بِٱلسَّاعَةِ ۖ
bil-sāʿatithe Hour
وَأَعْتَدْنَا
wa-aʿtadnāand We have prepared
لِمَن
limanfor (those) who
كَذَّبَ
kadhabadeny
بِٱلسَّاعَةِ
bil-sāʿatithe Hour
سَعِيرًا
saʿīrana Blazing Fire
١١
(11)
But they have denied the Hour, and We have prepared for those who deny the Hour a Blaze.

إِذَا
idhāWhen
رَأَتْهُم
ra-athumit sees them
مِّن
minfrom
مَّكَانٍۭ
makānina place
بَعِيدٍۢ
baʿīdinfar
سَمِعُوا۟
samiʿūthey will hear
لَهَا
lahāits
تَغَيُّظًۭا
taghayyuẓanraging
وَزَفِيرًۭا
wazafīranand roaring
١٢
(12)
When it [i.e., the Hellfire] sees them from a distant place, they will hear its fury and roaring.

وَإِذَآ
wa-idhāAnd when
أُلْقُوا۟
ul'qūthey are thrown
مِنْهَا
min'hāthereof
مَكَانًۭا
makānan(in) a place
ضَيِّقًۭا
ḍayyiqannarrow
مُّقَرَّنِينَ
muqarranīnabound in chains
دَعَوْا۟
daʿawthey will call
هُنَالِكَ
hunālikathere
ثُبُورًۭا
thubūran(for) destruction
١٣
(13)
And when they are thrown into a narrow place therein bound in chains, they will cry out thereupon for destruction.

لَّا
(Do) not
تَدْعُوا۟
tadʿūcall
ٱلْيَوْمَ
l-yawmathis day
ثُبُورًۭا
thubūran(for) destruction
وَٰحِدًۭا
wāḥidanone
وَٱدْعُوا۟
wa-id'ʿūbut call
ثُبُورًۭا
thubūran(for) destructions
كَثِيرًۭا
kathīranmany
١٤
(14)
[They will be told], "Do not cry this Day for one destruction but cry for much destruction."

قُلْ
qulSay
أَذَٰلِكَ
adhālikaIs that
خَيْرٌ
khayrunbetter
أَمْ
amor
جَنَّةُ
jannatuGarden
ٱلْخُلْدِ
l-khul'di(of) Eternity
ٱلَّتِى
allatīwhich
وُعِدَ
wuʿidais promised
ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ ۚ
l-mutaqūna(to) the righteous
كَانَتْ
kānatIt will be
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
جَزَآءًۭ
jazāana reward
وَمَصِيرًۭا
wamaṣīranand destination
١٥
(15)
Say, "Is that better or the Garden of Eternity which is promised to the righteous? It will be for them a reward and destination.

لَّهُمْ
lahumFor them
فِيهَا
fīhātherein
مَا
(is) whatever
يَشَآءُونَ
yashāūnathey wish
خَـٰلِدِينَ ۚ
khālidīnathey will abide forever
كَانَ
kānaIt is
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāon
رَبِّكَ
rabbikayour Lord
وَعْدًۭا
waʿdana promise
مَّسْـُٔولًۭا
masūlanrequested
١٦
(16)
For them therein is whatever they wish, [while] abiding eternally. It is ever upon your Lord a promise [worthy to be] requested.

وَيَوْمَ
wayawmaAnd (the) Day
يَحْشُرُهُمْ
yaḥshuruhumHe will gather them
وَمَا
wamāand what
يَعْبُدُونَ
yaʿbudūnathey worship
مِن
minbesides Allah
دُونِ
dūnibesides Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahibesides Allah
فَيَقُولُ
fayaqūluand He will say
ءَأَنتُمْ
a-antumDid you
أَضْلَلْتُمْ
aḍlaltum[you] mislead
عِبَادِى
ʿibādīMy slaves
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
hāulāithese
أَمْ
amor
هُمْ
humthey
ضَلُّوا۟
ḍallūwent astray
ٱلسَّبِيلَ
l-sabīla(from) the way
١٧
(17)
And [mention] the Day He will gather them and that which they worship besides Allāh and will say, "Did you mislead these, My servants, or did they [themselves] stray from the way?"

قَالُوا۟
qālūThey say
سُبْحَـٰنَكَ
sub'ḥānakaGlory be to You
مَا
Not
كَانَ
kānait was proper
يَنۢبَغِى
yanbaghīit was proper
لَنَآ
lanāfor us
أَن
anthat
نَّتَّخِذَ
nattakhidhawe take
مِن
minbesides You
دُونِكَ
dūnikabesides You
مِنْ
minany
أَوْلِيَآءَ
awliyāaprotectors
وَلَـٰكِن
walākinBut
مَّتَّعْتَهُمْ
mattaʿtahumYou gave them comforts
وَءَابَآءَهُمْ
waābāahumand their forefathers
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattāuntil
نَسُوا۟
nasūthey forgot
ٱلذِّكْرَ
l-dhik'rathe Message
وَكَانُوا۟
wakānūand became
قَوْمًۢا
qawmana people
بُورًۭا
būranruined
١٨
(18)
They will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for us to take besides You any allies [i.e., protectors]. But You provided comforts for them and their fathers until they forgot the message and became a people ruined."

فَقَدْ
faqadSo verily
كَذَّبُوكُم
kadhabūkumthey deny you
بِمَا
bimāin what
تَقُولُونَ
taqūlūnayou say
فَمَا
famāso not
تَسْتَطِيعُونَ
tastaṭīʿūnayou are able
صَرْفًۭا
ṣarfan(to) avert
وَلَا
walāand not
نَصْرًۭا ۚ
naṣran(to) help
وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
يَظْلِم
yaẓlimdoes wrong
مِّنكُمْ
minkumamong you
نُذِقْهُ
nudhiq'huWe will make him taste
عَذَابًۭا
ʿadhābana punishment
كَبِيرًۭا
kabīrangreat
١٩
(19)
So they will deny you, [disbelievers], in what you say, and you cannot avert [punishment] or [find] help. And whoever commits injustice among you - We will make him taste a great punishment.

وَمَآ
wamāAnd not
أَرْسَلْنَا
arsalnāWe sent
قَبْلَكَ
qablakabefore you
مِنَ
minaany
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
l-mur'salīnaMessengers
إِلَّآ
illābut
إِنَّهُمْ
innahumindeed, they
لَيَأْكُلُونَ
layakulūna[surely] ate
ٱلطَّعَامَ
l-ṭaʿāmafood
وَيَمْشُونَ
wayamshūnaand walked
فِى
in
ٱلْأَسْوَاقِ ۗ
l-aswāqithe markets
وَجَعَلْنَا
wajaʿalnāAnd We have made
بَعْضَكُمْ
baʿḍakumsome of you
لِبَعْضٍۢ
libaʿḍinfor others
فِتْنَةً
fit'natana trial
أَتَصْبِرُونَ ۗ
ataṣbirūnawill you have patience
وَكَانَ
wakānaAnd is
رَبُّكَ
rabbukayour Lord
بَصِيرًۭا
baṣīranAll-Seer
٢٠
(20)
And We did not send before you, [O Muḥammad], any of the messengers except that they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you [people] as trial for others - will you have patience? And ever is your Lord, Seeing.

۞ وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd said
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
لَا
(do) not
يَرْجُونَ
yarjūnaexpect
لِقَآءَنَا
liqāanā(the) meeting with Us
لَوْلَآ
lawlāWhy not
أُنزِلَ
unzilaare sent down
عَلَيْنَا
ʿalaynāto us
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
l-malāikatuthe Angels
أَوْ
awor
نَرَىٰ
narāwe see
رَبَّنَا ۗ
rabbanāour Lord
لَقَدِ
laqadiIndeed
ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟
is'takbarūthey have become arrogant
فِىٓ
within
أَنفُسِهِمْ
anfusihimthemselves
وَعَتَوْ
waʿatawand (become) insolent
عُتُوًّۭا
ʿutuwwan(with) insolence
كَبِيرًۭا
kabīrangreat
٢١
(21)
And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence.

يَوْمَ
yawma(The) Day
يَرَوْنَ
yarawnathey see
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ
l-malāikatathe Angels
لَا
no
بُشْرَىٰ
bush'rāglad tidings
يَوْمَئِذٍۢ
yawma-idhin(will be) that Day
لِّلْمُجْرِمِينَ
lil'muj'rimīnafor the criminals
وَيَقُولُونَ
wayaqūlūnaand they will say
حِجْرًۭا
ḥij'ranA partition
مَّحْجُورًۭا
maḥjūranforbidden
٢٢
(22)
The day they see the angels - no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible."

وَقَدِمْنَآ
waqadim'nāAnd We will proceed
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
مَا
whatever
عَمِلُوا۟
ʿamilūthey did
مِنْ
minof
عَمَلٍۢ
ʿamalin(the) deed(s)
فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ
fajaʿalnāhuand We will make them
هَبَآءًۭ
habāan(as) dust
مَّنثُورًا
manthūrandispersed
٢٣
(23)
And We will approach [i.e., regard] what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.

24
أَصْحَـٰبُ
aṣḥābu(The) companions
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
l-janati(of) Paradise
يَوْمَئِذٍ
yawma-idhinthat Day
خَيْرٌۭ
khayrun(will be in) a better
مُّسْتَقَرًّۭا
mus'taqarranabode
وَأَحْسَنُ
wa-aḥsanuand a better
مَقِيلًۭا
maqīlanresting-place
٢٤
(24)
The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place.

25
وَيَوْمَ
wayawmaAnd (the) Day
تَشَقَّقُ
tashaqqaquwill split open
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
l-samāuthe heavens
بِٱلْغَمَـٰمِ
bil-ghamāmiwith the clouds
وَنُزِّلَ
wanuzzilaand (will be) sent down
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
l-malāikatuthe Angels
تَنزِيلًا
tanzīlandescending
٢٥
(25)
And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.

ٱلْمُلْكُ
al-mul'kuThe Sovereignty
يَوْمَئِذٍ
yawma-idhinthat Day
ٱلْحَقُّ
l-ḥaqu(will be) truly
لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۚ
lilrraḥmānifor the Most Gracious
وَكَانَ
wakānaAnd (it will) be
يَوْمًا
yawmana Day
عَلَى
ʿalāfor
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
عَسِيرًۭا
ʿasīrandifficult
٢٦
(26)
True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day.

وَيَوْمَ
wayawmaAnd (the) Day
يَعَضُّ
yaʿaḍḍuwill bite
ٱلظَّالِمُ
l-ẓālimuthe wrongdoer
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā[on]
يَدَيْهِ
yadayhihis hands
يَقُولُ
yaqūluhe will say
يَـٰلَيْتَنِى
yālaytanīO I wish
ٱتَّخَذْتُ
ittakhadhtuI had taken
مَعَ
maʿawith
ٱلرَّسُولِ
l-rasūlithe Messenger
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlana way
٢٧
(27)
And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.

يَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰ
yāwaylatāO woe to me
لَيْتَنِى
laytanīI wish
لَمْ
lamnot
أَتَّخِذْ
attakhidhI had taken
فُلَانًا
fulānanthat one
خَلِيلًۭا
khalīlan(as) a friend
٢٨
(28)
Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend.

لَّقَدْ
laqadVerily
أَضَلَّنِى
aḍallanīhe led me astray
عَنِ
ʿanifrom
ٱلذِّكْرِ
l-dhik'rithe Reminder
بَعْدَ
baʿdaafter
إِذْ
idh[when]
جَآءَنِى ۗ
jāanīit (had) come to me
وَكَانَ
wakānaAnd is
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ
l-shayṭānuthe Shaitaan
لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ
lil'insānito the man
خَذُولًۭا
khadhūlana deserter
٢٩
(29)
He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter."

30
وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd said
ٱلرَّسُولُ
l-rasūluthe Messenger
يَـٰرَبِّ
yārabbiO my Lord
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
قَوْمِى
qawmīmy people
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
ittakhadhūtook
هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
l-qur'ānathe Quran
مَهْجُورًۭا
mahjūran(as) a forsaken thing
٣٠
(30)
And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur’ān as [a thing] abandoned."

وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wakadhālikaAnd thus
جَعَلْنَا
jaʿalnāWe have made
لِكُلِّ
likullifor every
نَبِىٍّ
nabiyyinProphet
عَدُوًّۭا
ʿaduwwanan enemy
مِّنَ
minaamong
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ۗ
l-muj'rimīnathe criminals
وَكَفَىٰ
wakafāBut sufficient is
بِرَبِّكَ
birabbikayour Lord
هَادِيًۭا
hādiyan(as) a Guide
وَنَصِيرًۭا
wanaṣīranand a Helper
٣١
(31)
And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.

وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd said
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarūdisbelieve
لَوْلَا
lawlāWhy not
نُزِّلَ
nuzzilawas revealed
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhito him
ٱلْقُرْءَانُ
l-qur'ānuthe Quran
جُمْلَةًۭ
jum'latanall at once
وَٰحِدَةًۭ ۚ
wāḥidatanall at once
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālikaThus
لِنُثَبِّتَ
linuthabbitathat We may strengthen
بِهِۦ
bihithereby
فُؤَادَكَ ۖ
fuādakayour heart
وَرَتَّلْنَـٰهُ
warattalnāhuand We have recited it
تَرْتِيلًۭا
tartīlan(with distinct) recitation
٣٢
(32)
And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur’ān not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly.

بِمَثَلٍ

إِلَّا
illābut
جِئْنَـٰكَ
ji'nākaWe bring you
بِٱلْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqithe truth
وَأَحْسَنَ
wa-aḥsanaand (the) best
تَفْسِيرًا
tafsīranexplanation

(33)
And they do not come to you with an example [i.e., argument] except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation.

alladhīnaThose who
يُحْشَرُونَ
yuḥ'sharūnawill be gathered
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāon
وُجُوهِهِمْ
wujūhihimtheir faces
إِلَىٰ

جَهَنَّمَ
jahannamaHell
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāikathose
شَرٌّۭ
sharrun(are the) worst
مَّكَانًۭا
makānan(in) position
وَأَضَلُّ
wa-aḍalluand most astray
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlan(from the) way
٣٤
(34)
The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way.

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd verily
ءَاتَيْنَا
ātaynāWe gave
مُوسَى
mūsāMusa
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ
l-kitābathe Scripture
وَجَعَلْنَا
wajaʿalnāand We appointed
مَعَهُۥٓ
maʿahuwith him
أَخَاهُ
akhāhuhis brother
هَـٰرُونَ
hārūnaHarun
وَزِيرًۭا
wazīran(as) an assistant
٣٥
(35)
And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as an assistant.

فَقُلْنَا
faqul'nāThen We said
ٱذْهَبَآ
idh'habāGo both of you
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱلْقَوْمِ
l-qawmithe people
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
كَذَّبُوا۟
kadhabūhave denied
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
biāyātināOur Signs
فَدَمَّرْنَـٰهُمْ
fadammarnāhumThen We destroyed them
تَدْمِيرًۭا
tadmīran(with) destruction
٣٦
(36)
And We said, "Go both of you to the people who have denied Our signs." Then We destroyed them with [complete] destruction.

وَقَوْمَ
waqawmaAnd (the) people
نُوحٍۢ
nūḥin(of) Nuh
لَّمَّا
lammāwhen
كَذَّبُوا۟
kadhabūthey denied
ٱلرُّسُلَ
l-rusulathe Messengers
أَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْ
aghraqnāhumWe drowned them
وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ
wajaʿalnāhumand We made them
لِلنَّاسِ
lilnnāsifor mankind
ءَايَةًۭ ۖ
āyatana sign
وَأَعْتَدْنَا
wa-aʿtadnāAnd We have prepared
لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
lilẓẓālimīnafor the wrongdoers
عَذَابًا
ʿadhābana punishment
أَلِيمًۭا
alīmanpainful
٣٧
(37)
And the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers, We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment.

وَعَادًۭا
waʿādanAnd Ad
وَثَمُودَا۟
wathamūdāand Thamud
وَأَصْحَـٰبَ
wa-aṣḥābaand (the) dwellers
ٱلرَّسِّ
l-rasi(of) Ar-rass
وَقُرُونًۢا
waqurūnanand generations
بَيْنَ
baynabetween
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
كَثِيرًۭا
kathīranmany
٣٨
(38)
And [We destroyed] ʿAad and Thamūd and the companions of the well and many generations between them.

wakullanAnd each
ضَرَبْنَا
ḍarabnāWe have set forth
لَهُ
lahufor him
ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ ۖ
l-amthālathe examples
وَكُلًّۭا
wakullanand each
تَبَّرْنَا
tabbarnāWe destroyed
تَتْبِيرًۭا
tatbīran(with) destruction
٣٩
(39)
And for each We presented examples [as warnings], and each We destroyed with [total] destruction.

walaqadAnd verily
أَتَوْا۟
atawthey have come
عَلَى
ʿalāupon
ٱلْقَرْيَةِ
l-qaryatithe town
ٱلَّتِىٓ
allatīwhich
أُمْطِرَتْ
um'ṭiratwas showered
مَطَرَ
maṭara(with) a rain
ٱلسَّوْءِ ۚ
l-sawi(of) evil
أَفَلَمْ
afalamThen do not
يَكُونُوا۟
yakūnūthey [were]
يَرَوْنَهَا ۚ
yarawnahāsee it
بَلْ
balNay
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey are
لَا
not
يَرْجُونَ
yarjūnaexpecting
نُشُورًۭا
nushūranResurrection
٤٠
(40)
And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil [i.e., stones]. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.

وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
رَأَوْكَ
ra-awkathey see you
إِن
innot
يَتَّخِذُونَكَ
yattakhidhūnakathey take you
إِلَّا
illāexcept
هُزُوًا
huzuwan(in) mockery
أَهَـٰذَا
ahādhāIs this
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīthe one whom
بَعَثَ
baʿathaAllah has sent
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah has sent
رَسُولًا
rasūlan(as) a Messenger
٤١
(41)
And when they see you, [O Muḥammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one whom Allāh has sent as a messenger?

لَيُضِلُّنَا
layuḍillunā[surely] misled us
عَنْ
ʿanfrom
ءَالِهَتِنَا

لَوْلَآ

صَبَرْنَا
ṣabarnāwe had been steadfast
عَلَيْهَا ۚ
ʿalayhāto them
وَسَوْفَ
wasawfaAnd soon
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūnawill know
حِينَ
ḥīnawhen
يَرَوْنَ
yarawnathey will see
ٱلْعَذَابَ
l-ʿadhābathe punishment
مَنْ
manwho
أَضَلُّ
aḍallu(is) more astray
سَبِيلًا
sabīlan(from the) way
٤٢
(42)
He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them." But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way.

أَفَأَنتَ
afa-antaThen would you
تَكُونُ

عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhiover him
وَكِيلًا
wakīlana guardian

(43)
Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire? Then would you be responsible for him?

أَكْثَرَهُمْ

يَسْمَعُونَ

إِنْ

هُمْ
humthey
إِلَّا
illā(are) except
كَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ۖ
kal-anʿāmilike cattle
بَلْ
balNay
هُمْ

أَضَلُّ
aḍallu(are) more astray
سَبِيلًا
sabīlan(from the) way
٤٤
(44)
Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.

كَيْفَ

مَدَّ

ٱلظِّلَّ

وَلَوْ
walawAnd if
شَآءَ
shāaHe willed
لَجَعَلَهُۥ
lajaʿalahusurely He (could) have made it
سَاكِنًۭا
sākinanstationary
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
جَعَلْنَا
jaʿalnāWe made
ٱلشَّمْسَ
l-shamsathe sun
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhifor it
دَلِيلًۭا
dalīlanan indication
٤٥
(45)
Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.

قَبَضْنَـٰهُ
qabaḍnāhuWe withdraw it
إِلَيْنَا

قَبْضًۭا
qabḍana withdrawal

Then We [retract and] hold it with Us for a brief grasp.

وَهُوَ
wahuwaAnd He
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
jaʿalamade
لَكُمُ
lakumufor you
ٱلَّيْلَ
al-laylathe night
لِبَاسًۭا
libāsan(as) a covering
وَٱلنَّوْمَ
wal-nawmaand the sleep
سُبَاتًۭا
subātana rest
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʿalaand made
ٱلنَّهَارَ
l-nahārathe day
نُشُورًۭا
nushūrana resurrection
٤٧
(47)
And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection.

وَهُوَ
wahuwaAnd He
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhī(is) the One Who
أَرْسَلَ
arsalasends
ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ
l-riyāḥathe winds
بُشْرًۢا
bush'ran(as) glad tidings
بَيْنَ
baynabefore
يَدَىْ
yadaybefore
رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ
raḥmatihiHis Mercy
وَأَنزَلْنَا
wa-anzalnāand We send down
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāithe sky
مَآءًۭ
māanwater
طَهُورًۭا
ṭahūranpure
٤٨
(48)
And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy [i.e., rainfall], and We send down from the sky pure water

لِّنُحْـِۧىَ
linuḥ'yiyaThat We may give life
بِهِۦ
bihithereby
بَلْدَةًۭ
baldatan(to) a land
مَّيْتًۭا
maytandead
وَنُسْقِيَهُۥ
wanus'qiyahuand We give drink
مِمَّا
mimmāthereof
خَلَقْنَآ
khalaqnā(to those) We created
أَنْعَـٰمًۭا
anʿāmancattle
وَأَنَاسِىَّ
wa-anāsiyyaand men
كَثِيرًۭا
kathīranmany
٤٩
(49)
That We may bring to life thereby a dead land and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men.

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd verily
صَرَّفْنَـٰهُ
ṣarrafnāhuWe have distributed it
بَيْنَهُمْ
baynahumamong them
لِيَذَّكَّرُوا۟
liyadhakkarūthat they may remember
فَأَبَىٰٓ
fa-abābut refuse
أَكْثَرُ
aktharumost
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsi(of) the people
إِلَّا
illāexcept
كُفُورًۭا
kufūrandisbelief
٥٠
(50)
And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded, but most of the people refuse except disbelief.

وَلَوْ
walawAnd if
شِئْنَا
shi'nāWe willed
لَبَعَثْنَا
labaʿathnāsurely, We (would) have raised
فِى
in
كُلِّ
kullievery
قَرْيَةٍۢ
qaryatintown
نَّذِيرًۭا
nadhīrana warner
٥١
(51)
And if We had willed, We could have sent into every city a warner.

فَلَا
falāSo (do) not
تُطِعِ
tuṭiʿiobey
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
وَجَـٰهِدْهُم
wajāhid'humand strive (against) them
بِهِۦ
bihiwith it
جِهَادًۭا
jihādana striving
كَبِيرًۭا
kabīrangreat
٥٢
(52)
So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with it [i.e., the Qur’ān] a great striving.

۞ وَهُوَ
wahuwaAnd He
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(is) the One Who
مَرَجَ
maraja(has) released
ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ
l-baḥraynithe two seas
هَـٰذَا
hādhā[this] (one)
عَذْبٌۭ
ʿadhbunpalatable
فُرَاتٌۭ
furātunand sweet
وَهَـٰذَا
wahādhāand [this] (one)
مِلْحٌ
mil'ḥunsalty
أُجَاجٌۭ
ujājun(and) bitter
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʿalaand He has made
بَيْنَهُمَا
baynahumābetween them
بَرْزَخًۭا
barzakhana barrier
وَحِجْرًۭا
waḥij'ranand a partition
مَّحْجُورًۭا
maḥjūranforbidden
٥٣
(53)
And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas [i.e., bodies of water], one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.

ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(is) the One Who
خَلَقَ
khalaqahas created
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلْمَآءِ
l-māithe water
بَشَرًۭا

فَجَعَلَهُۥ
fajaʿalahuand has made (for) him
نَسَبًۭا
nasabanblood relationship
وَصِهْرًۭا ۗ
waṣih'ranand marriage relationship
وَكَانَ
wakānaAnd is
رَبُّكَ
rabbukayour Lord
قَدِيرًۭا
qadīranAll-Powerful
٥٤
(54)
And it is He who has created from water [i.e., semen] a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation].

وَيَعْبُدُونَ
wayaʿbudūnaBut they worship
مِن
minbesides Allah
دُونِ
dūnibesides Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahibesides Allah
مَا
what
لَا
not profits them
يَنفَعُهُمْ
yanfaʿuhumnot profits them
وَلَا
walāand not
يَضُرُّهُمْ ۗ
yaḍurruhumharms them
وَكَانَ
wakānaand is
ٱلْكَافِرُ
l-kāfiruthe disbeliever
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāagainst
رَبِّهِۦ
rabbihihis Lord
ظَهِيرًۭا
ẓahīrana helper
٥٥
(55)
But they worship rather than Allāh that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan].

wamāAnd not
أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ
arsalnākaWe sent you
إِلَّا
illāexcept
مُبَشِّرًۭا
mubashiran(as) a bearer of glad tidings
وَنَذِيرًۭا
wanadhīranand a warner
٥٦
(56)
And We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.

أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ
asalukumI ask (of) you
عَلَيْهِ

man(that) whoever wills
شَآءَ
shāa(that) whoever wills
أَن
anto
يَتَّخِذَ
yattakhidhatake
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
رَبِّهِۦ
rabbihihis Lord
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlana way
٥٧
(57)
Say, "I do not ask of you for it any payment - only that whoever wills might take to his Lord a way."

وَتَوَكَّلْ
watawakkalAnd put your trust
عَلَى
ʿalāin
ٱلْحَىِّ
l-ḥayithe Ever-Living
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīthe One Who
لَا
does not die
يَمُوتُ
yamūtudoes not die
وَسَبِّحْ
wasabbiḥand glorify
بِحَمْدِهِۦ ۚ
biḥamdihiwith His Praise
وَكَفَىٰ
wakafāAnd sufficient is
بِهِۦ
bihiHe
بِذُنُوبِ
bidhunūbiregarding the sins
عِبَادِهِۦ
ʿibādihi(of) His slaves
خَبِيرًا
khabīranAll-Aware
٥٨
(58)
And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allāh] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, [fully] Aware -

ٱلَّذِى
alladhīThe One Who
خَلَقَ
khalaqacreated
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍaand the earth
وَمَا
wamāand whatever
بَيْنَهُمَا
baynahumā(is) between them
فِى
in
سِتَّةِ
sittatisix
أَيَّامٍۢ
ayyāminperiods
ثُمَّ
thummathen
ٱسْتَوَىٰ
is'tawāHe established Himself
عَلَى
ʿalāover
ٱلْعَرْشِ ۚ
l-ʿarshithe Throne
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ
l-raḥmānuthe Most Gracious
فَسْـَٔلْ
fasalso ask
بِهِۦ
bihiHim
خَبِيرًۭا
khabīran(as He is) All-Aware
٥٩
(59)
He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)].

وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
قِيلَ
qīlait is said
لَهُمُ
lahumuto them
ٱسْجُدُوا۟
us'judūProstrate
لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ
lilrraḥmānito the Most Gracious
قَالُوا۟
qālūThey say
وَمَا
wamāAnd what
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ
l-raḥmānu(is) the Most Gracious
أَنَسْجُدُ
anasjuduShould we prostrate
لِمَا
limāto what
تَأْمُرُنَا
tamurunāyou order us
وَزَادَهُمْ
wazādahumAnd it increases them
نُفُورًۭا ۩
nufūran(in) aversion
٦٠
(60)
And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Merciful," they say, "And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion.

تَبَارَكَ
tabārakaBlessed is He
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīWho
جَعَلَ
jaʿalahas placed
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāithe skies
بُرُوجًۭا
burūjanconstellations
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʿalaand has placed
فِيهَا
fīhātherein
سِرَٰجًۭا
sirājana lamp
وَقَمَرًۭا
waqamaranand a moon
مُّنِيرًۭا
munīranshining
٦١
(61)
Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.

wahuwaAnd He
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
jaʿalamade
ٱلَّيْلَ
al-laylathe night
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
wal-nahāraand the day
خِلْفَةًۭ
khil'fatan(in) succession
لِّمَنْ
limanfor whoever
أَرَادَ
arādadesires
أَن
anto
يَذَّكَّرَ
yadhakkararemember
أَوْ
awor
أَرَادَ
arādadesires
شُكُورًۭا
shukūranto be thankful
٦٢
(62)
And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.

وَعِبَادُ
waʿibāduAnd (the) slaves
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ
l-raḥmāni(of) the Most Gracious
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna(are) those who
يَمْشُونَ
yamshūnawalk
عَلَى
ʿalāon
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
هَوْنًۭا
hawnan(in) humbleness
وَإِذَا
wa-idhāand when
خَاطَبَهُمُ
khāṭabahumuaddress them
ٱلْجَـٰهِلُونَ
l-jāhilūnathe ignorant ones
قَالُوا۟
qālūthey say
سَلَـٰمًۭا
salāmanPeace
٦٣
(63)
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,

وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaAnd those who
يَبِيتُونَ
yabītūnaspend (the) night
لِرَبِّهِمْ
lirabbihimbefore their Lord
سُجَّدًۭا
sujjadanprostrating
وَقِيَـٰمًۭا
waqiyāmanand standing
٦٤
(64)
And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]

وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaAnd those who
يَقُولُونَ
yaqūlūnasay
رَبَّنَا
rabbanāOur Lord
ٱصْرِفْ
iṣ'rifAvert
عَنَّا
ʿannāfrom us
عَذَابَ
ʿadhābathe punishment
جَهَنَّمَ ۖ
jahannama(of) Hell
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
عَذَابَهَا
ʿadhābahāits punishment
كَانَ
kānais
غَرَامًا
gharāmaninseparable
٦٥
(65)
And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;

innahāIndeed, it
سَآءَتْ
sāat(is) an evil
مُسْتَقَرًّۭا
mus'taqarranabode
وَمُقَامًۭا
wamuqāmanand resting place
٦٦
(66)
Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence."

وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaAnd those who
إِذَآ
idhāwhen
أَنفَقُوا۟
anfaqūthey spend
لَمْ
lam(are) not extravagant
يُسْرِفُوا۟
yus'rifū(are) not extravagant
وَلَمْ
walamand are not stingy
يَقْتُرُوا۟
yaqturūand are not stingy
وَكَانَ
wakānabut are
بَيْنَ
baynabetween
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
قَوَامًۭا
qawāmanmoderate
٦٧
(67)
And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate

wa-alladhīnaAnd those who
لَا
(do) not
يَدْعُونَ
yadʿūnainvoke
مَعَ
maʿawith
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
إِلَـٰهًا

ءَاخَرَ
ākharaanother
وَلَا
walāand (do) not
يَقْتُلُونَ
yaqtulūna[they] kill
ٱلنَّفْسَ
l-nafsathe soul
ٱلَّتِى

حَرَّمَ
ḥarramaAllah has forbidden
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah has forbidden
إِلَّا
illāexcept
بِٱلْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqiby right
وَلَا
walāand (do) not
يَزْنُونَ ۚ
yaznūnacommit unlawful sexual intercourse
وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
يَفْعَلْ
yafʿaldoes
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
يَلْقَ
yalqawill meet
أَثَامًۭا
athāmana penalty
٦٨
(68)
And those who do not invoke with Allāh another deity or kill the soul which Allāh has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.

يُضَـٰعَفْ
yuḍāʿafWill be doubled
لَهُ
lahufor him
ٱلْعَذَابُ
l-ʿadhābuthe punishment
يَوْمَ
yawma(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati(of) Resurrection
وَيَخْلُدْ
wayakhludand he will abide forever
فِيهِۦ
fīhitherein
مُهَانًا
muhānanhumiliated
٦٩
(69)
Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated -

إِلَّا
illāExcept
مَن
man(he) who
تَابَ
tābarepents
وَءَامَنَ
waāmanaand believes
وَعَمِلَ
waʿamilaand does
عَمَلًۭا
ʿamalanrighteous deeds
صَـٰلِحًۭا
ṣāliḥanrighteous deeds
فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
fa-ulāikathen (for) those
يُبَدِّلُ
yubaddiluAllah will replace
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah will replace
سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ
sayyiātihimtheir evil deeds
حَسَنَـٰتٍۢ ۗ
ḥasanātin(with) good ones
وَكَانَ
wakānaAnd is
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah
غَفُورًۭا
ghafūranOft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًۭا
raḥīmanMost Merciful
٧٠
(70)
Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allāh will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful.

وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
تَابَ
tābarepents
وَعَمِلَ
waʿamilaand does
صَـٰلِحًۭا
ṣāliḥanrighteous (deeds)
فَإِنَّهُۥ
fa-innahuthen indeed, he
يَتُوبُ
yatūbuturns
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
مَتَابًۭا
matāban(with) repentance
٧١
(71)
And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allāh with [accepted] repentance.

وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaAnd those who
لَا
(do) not
يَشْهَدُونَ
yashhadūnabear witness
ٱلزُّورَ
l-zūra(to) the falsehood
وَإِذَا
wa-idhāand when
مَرُّوا۟
marrūthey pass
بِٱللَّغْوِ
bil-laghwiby futility
مَرُّوا۟
marrūthey pass
كِرَامًۭا
kirāman(as) dignified ones
٧٢
(72)
And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by with dignity.

وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaAnd those who
إِذَا
idhāwhen
ذُكِّرُوا۟
dhukkirūthey are reminded
بِـَٔايَـٰتِ
biāyātiof (the) Verses
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim(of) their Lord
لَمْ
lam(do) not
يَخِرُّوا۟
yakhirrūfall
عَلَيْهَا
ʿalayhāupon them
صُمًّۭا
ṣummandeaf
وَعُمْيَانًۭا
waʿum'yānanand blind
٧٣
(73)
And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind.

وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaAnd those who
يَقُولُونَ
yaqūlūnasay
رَبَّنَا
rabbanāOur Lord
هَبْ
habGrant
لَنَا
lanāto us
مِنْ
minfrom
أَزْوَٰجِنَا
azwājināour spouses
وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِنَا
wadhurriyyātināand our offspring
قُرَّةَ
qurratacomfort
أَعْيُنٍۢ
aʿyunin(to) our eyes
وَٱجْعَلْنَا
wa-ij'ʿalnāand make us
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
lil'muttaqīnafor the righteous
إِمَامًا
imāmana leader
٧٤
(74)
And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us a leader [i.e., example] for the righteous."

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāikaThose
يُجْزَوْنَ
yuj'zawnawill be awarded
ٱلْغُرْفَةَ
l-ghur'fatathe Chamber
بِمَا
bimābecause
صَبَرُوا۟
ṣabarūthey were patient
وَيُلَقَّوْنَ
wayulaqqawnaand they will be met
فِيهَا
fīhātherein
تَحِيَّةًۭ
taḥiyyatan(with) greetings
وَسَلَـٰمًا
wasalāmanand peace
٧٥
(75)
Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace,

خَـٰلِدِينَ
khālidīnaWill abide forever
فِيهَا ۚ
fīhāin it
حَسُنَتْ
ḥasunatGood
مُسْتَقَرًّۭا
mus'taqarran(is) the settlement
وَمُقَامًۭا
wamuqāmanand a resting place
٧٦
(76)
Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence.

قُلْ
qulSay
مَا
Not
يَعْبَؤُا۟
yaʿba-uwill care
بِكُمْ
bikumfor you
رَبِّى
rabbīmy Lord
لَوْلَا
lawlāif not
دُعَآؤُكُمْ ۖ
duʿāukumyour prayer (is to Him)
فَقَدْ
faqadBut verily
كَذَّبْتُمْ
kadhabtumyou have denied
فَسَوْفَ
fasawfaso soon
يَكُونُ
yakūnuwill be
لِزَامًۢا
lizāmanthe inevitable (punishment)
٧٧
(77)
Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?" For you [disbelievers] have denied, so it [i.e., your denial] is going to be adherent.
