طسٓ ۚtta-seenTa Seen
تِلْكَtil'kaThese
ءَايَـٰتُāyātu(are the) Verses
ٱلْقُرْءَانِl-qur'āni(of) the Quran
وَكِتَابٍۢwakitābinand a Book
مُّبِينٍmubīninclear
١(1)
Ṭā, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur’ān [i.e., recitation] and a clear Book

هُدًۭىhudanA guidance
وَبُشْرَىٰwabush'rāand glad tidings
لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَlil'mu'minīnafor the believers
٢(2)
As guidance and good tidings for the believers
Juz 19Page 377
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose who
يُقِيمُونَyuqīmūnaestablish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَl-ṣalatathe prayer
وَيُؤْتُونَwayu'tūnaand give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَl-zakatazakah
وَهُمwahumand they
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِbil-ākhiratiin the Hereafter
هُمْhum[they]
يُوقِنُونَyūqinūnabelieve with certainty
٣(3)
Who establish prayer and give zakāh, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].

إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
لَاlā(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِbil-ākhiratiin the Hereafter
زَيَّنَّاzayyannāWe have made fair-seeming
لَهُمْlahumto them
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْaʿmālahumtheir deeds
فَهُمْfahumso they
يَعْمَهُونَyaʿmahūnawander blindly
٤(4)
Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly.

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(are) the ones
لَهُمْlahumfor them
سُوٓءُsūu(is) an evil
ٱلْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābi[the] punishment
وَهُمْwahumand they
فِىfīin
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe Hereafter
هُمُhumu[they]
ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَl-akhsarūna(will be) the greatest losers
٥(5)
Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers.

وَإِنَّكَwa-innakaAnd indeed, you
لَتُلَقَّىlatulaqqāsurely, receive
ٱلْقُرْءَانَl-qur'ānathe Quran
مِنminfrom [near]
لَّدُنْladunfrom [near]
حَكِيمٍḥakīminthe All-Wise
عَلِيمٍʿalīminthe All-Knower
٦(6)
And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you receive the Qur’ān from one Wise and Knowing.

إِذْidhWhen
قَالَqālasaid
مُوسَىٰmūsāMusa
لِأَهْلِهِۦٓli-ahlihito his family
إِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, I
ءَانَسْتُānastuperceive
نَارًۭاnārana fire
سَـَٔاتِيكُمsaātīkumI will bring you
مِّنْهَاmin'hāfrom it
بِخَبَرٍbikhabarinsome information
أَوْawor
ءَاتِيكُمātīkumI will bring you
بِشِهَابٍۢbishihābina torch
قَبَسٍۢqabasinburning
لَّعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you may
تَصْطَلُونَtaṣṭalūnawarm yourselves
٧(7)
[Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves."

فَلَمَّاfalammāBut when
جَآءَهَاjāahāhe came to it
نُودِىَnūdiyahe was called
أَنۢan[that]
بُورِكَbūrikaBlessed is
مَنmanwho
فِىfī(is) at
ٱلنَّارِl-nārithe fire
وَمَنْwamanand whoever
حَوْلَهَاḥawlahā(is) around it
وَسُبْحَـٰنَwasub'ḥānaAnd glory be
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(to) Allah
رَبِّrabbi(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
٨(8)
But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.

يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓyāmūsāO Musa
إِنَّهُۥٓinnahuIndeed
أَنَاanāI Am
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
ٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzuthe All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
٩(9)
O Moses, indeed it is I - Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

وَأَلْقِwa-alqiAnd, "Throw
عَصَاكَ ۚʿaṣākayour staff
فَلَمَّاfalammāBut when
رَءَاهَاraāhāhe saw it
تَهْتَزُّtahtazzumoving
كَأَنَّهَاka-annahāas if it
جَآنٌّۭjānnun(were) a snake
وَلَّىٰwallāhe turned back
مُدْبِرًۭاmud'biran(in) flight
وَلَمْwalamand (did) not
يُعَقِّبْ ۚyuʿaqqiblook back
يَـٰمُوسَىٰyāmūsāO Musa
لَاlā(Do) not
تَخَفْtakhaffear
إِنِّىinnīIndeed, [I]
لَاlā(do) not
يَخَافُyakhāfufear
لَدَىَّladayya(in) My presence
ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَl-mur'salūnathe Messengers
١٠(10)
And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allāh said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.

إِلَّاillāExcept
مَنmanwho
ظَلَمَẓalamawrongs
ثُمَّthummathen
بَدَّلَbaddalasubstitutes
حُسْنًۢاḥus'nangood
بَعْدَbaʿdaafter
سُوٓءٍۢsūinevil
فَإِنِّىfa-innīthen indeed, I Am
غَفُورٌۭghafūrunOft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
١١(11)
Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful.

وَأَدْخِلْwa-adkhilAnd enter
يَدَكَyadakayour hand
فِىfīinto
جَيْبِكَjaybikayour bosom
تَخْرُجْtakhrujit will come forth
بَيْضَآءَbayḍāawhite
مِنْminwithout
غَيْرِghayriwithout
سُوٓءٍۢ ۖsūinharm
فِىfī(These are) among
تِسْعِtis'ʿinine
ءَايَـٰتٍāyātinsigns
إِلَىٰilāto
فِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawnaFiraun
وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ ۚwaqawmihiand his people
إِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, they
كَانُوا۟kānūare
قَوْمًۭاqawmana people
فَـٰسِقِينَfāsiqīnadefiantly disobedient
١٢(12)
And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."

فَلَمَّاfalammāBut when
جَآءَتْهُمْjāathumcame to them
ءَايَـٰتُنَاāyātunāOur Signs
مُبْصِرَةًۭmub'ṣiratanvisible
قَالُوا۟qālūthey said
هَـٰذَاhādhāThis
سِحْرٌۭsiḥ'run(is) a magic
مُّبِينٌۭmubīnunmanifest
١٣(13)
But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic."

وَجَحَدُوا۟wajaḥadūAnd they rejected
بِهَاbihāthem
وَٱسْتَيْقَنَتْهَآwa-is'tayqanathāthough were convinced with them (signs)
أَنفُسُهُمْanfusuhumthemselves
ظُلْمًۭاẓul'man(out of) injustice
وَعُلُوًّۭا ۚwaʿuluwwanand haughtiness
فَٱنظُرْfa-unẓurSo see
كَيْفَkayfahow
كَانَkānawas
عَـٰقِبَةُʿāqibatu(the) end
ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَl-muf'sidīna(of) the corrupters
١٤(14)
And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters.

وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verily
ءَاتَيْنَاātaynāWe gave
دَاوُۥدَdāwūdaDawood
وَسُلَيْمَـٰنَwasulaymānaand Sulaiman
عِلْمًۭا ۖʿil'manknowledge
وَقَالَاwaqālāand they said
ٱلْحَمْدُl-ḥamduPraise be
لِلَّهِlillahito Allah
ٱلَّذِىalladhīthe One Who
فَضَّلَنَاfaḍḍalanāhas favored us
عَلَىٰʿalāover
كَثِيرٍۢkathīrinmany
مِّنْminof
عِبَادِهِʿibādihiHis servants
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
١٥(15)
And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, "Praise [is due] to Allāh, who has favored us over many of His believing servants."

وَوَرِثَwawarithaAnd inherited
سُلَيْمَـٰنُsulaymānuSulaiman
دَاوُۥدَ ۖdāwūdaDawood
وَقَالَwaqālaAnd he said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO
ٱلنَّاسُl-nāsupeople
عُلِّمْنَاʿullim'nāWe have been taught
مَنطِقَmanṭiqa(the) language
ٱلطَّيْرِl-ṭayri(of) the birds
وَأُوتِينَاwaūtīnāand we have been given
مِنminfrom
كُلِّkullievery
شَىْءٍ ۖshayinthing
إِنَّinnaIndeed
هَـٰذَاhādhāthis
لَهُوَlahuwasurely, it
ٱلْفَضْلُl-faḍlu(is) the favor
ٱلْمُبِينُl-mubīnuevident
١٦(16)
And Solomon inherited David. He said, "O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given from all things. Indeed, this is evident bounty."

وَحُشِرَwaḥushiraAnd were gathered
لِسُلَيْمَـٰنَlisulaymānafor Sulaiman
جُنُودُهُۥjunūduhuhis hosts
مِنَminaof
ٱلْجِنِّl-jinijinn
وَٱلْإِنسِwal-insiand the men
وَٱلطَّيْرِwal-ṭayriand the birds
فَهُمْfahumand they
يُوزَعُونَyūzaʿūna(were) set in rows
١٧(17)
And gathered for Solomon were his soldiers of the jinn and men and birds, and they were [marching] in rows
Juz 19Page 378
حَتَّىٰٓḥattāUntil
إِذَآidhāwhen
أَتَوْا۟atawthey came
عَلَىٰʿalāto
وَادِwādi(the) valley
ٱلنَّمْلِl-namli(of) the ants
قَالَتْqālatsaid
نَمْلَةٌۭnamlatunan ant
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO
ٱلنَّمْلُl-namluants
ٱدْخُلُوا۟ud'khulūEnter
مَسَـٰكِنَكُمْmasākinakumyour dwellings
لَاlālest not crush you
يَحْطِمَنَّكُمْyaḥṭimannakumlest not crush you
سُلَيْمَـٰنُsulaymānuSulaiman
وَجُنُودُهُۥwajunūduhuand his hosts
وَهُمْwahumwhile they
لَاlā(do) not perceive
يَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūna(do) not perceive
١٨(18)
Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, "O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not."

فَتَبَسَّمَfatabassamaSo he smiled
ضَاحِكًۭاḍāḥikanlaughing
مِّنminat
قَوْلِهَاqawlihāher speech
وَقَالَwaqālaand said
رَبِّrabbiMy Lord
أَوْزِعْنِىٓawziʿ'nīGrant me (the) power
أَنْanthat
أَشْكُرَashkuraI may thank You
نِعْمَتَكَniʿ'mataka(for) Your Favor
ٱلَّتِىٓallatīwhich
أَنْعَمْتَanʿamtaYou have bestowed
عَلَىَّʿalayyaon me
وَعَلَىٰwaʿalāand on
وَٰلِدَىَّwālidayyamy parents
وَأَنْwa-anand that
أَعْمَلَaʿmalaI may do
صَـٰلِحًۭاṣāliḥanrighteous (deeds)
تَرْضَىٰهُtarḍāhuthat will please You
وَأَدْخِلْنِىwa-adkhil'nīAnd admit me
بِرَحْمَتِكَbiraḥmatikaby Your Mercy
فِىfīamong
عِبَادِكَʿibādikaYour slaves
ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَl-ṣāliḥīnarighteous
١٩(19)
So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."

وَتَفَقَّدَwatafaqqadaAnd he inspected
ٱلطَّيْرَl-ṭayrathe birds
فَقَالَfaqālaand said
مَاmāWhy
لِىَliyaWhy
لَآlānot
أَرَىarāI see
ٱلْهُدْهُدَl-hud'hudathe hoopoe
أَمْamor
كَانَkānais he
مِنَminafrom
ٱلْغَآئِبِينَl-ghāibīnathe absent
٢٠(20)
And he took attendance of the birds and said, "Why do I not see the hoopoe - or is he among the absent?
Juz 19Page 378
لَأُعَذِّبَنَّهُۥla-uʿadhibannahuI will surely punish him
عَذَابًۭاʿadhāban(with) a punishment
شَدِيدًاshadīdansevere
أَوْawor
لَأَا۟ذْبَحَنَّهُۥٓlaādh'baḥannahuI will surely slaughter him
أَوْawunless
لَيَأْتِيَنِّىlayatiyannīhe brings me
بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢbisul'ṭānina reason
مُّبِينٍۢmubīninclear
٢١(21)
I will surely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him unless he brings me clear authorization."

فَمَكَثَfamakathaSo he stayed
غَيْرَghayranot
بَعِيدٍۢbaʿīdinlong
فَقَالَfaqālaand he said
أَحَطتُaḥaṭtuI have encompassed
بِمَاbimāthat which
لَمْlamnot
تُحِطْtuḥiṭyou have encompassed
بِهِۦbihiit
وَجِئْتُكَwaji'tukaand I have come to you
مِنminfrom
سَبَإٍۭsaba-inSaba
بِنَبَإٍۢbinaba-inwith news
يَقِينٍyaqīnincertain
٢٢(22)
But he [i.e., the hoopoe] stayed not long and said, "I have encompassed [in knowledge] that which you have not encompassed, and I have come to you from Sheba with certain news.

إِنِّىinnīIndeed, I
وَجَدتُّwajadttufound
ٱمْرَأَةًۭim'ra-atana woman
تَمْلِكُهُمْtamlikuhumruling them
وَأُوتِيَتْwaūtiyatand she has been given
مِنminof
كُلِّkullievery
شَىْءٍۢshayinthing
وَلَهَاwalahāand for her
عَرْشٌʿarshun(is) a throne
عَظِيمٌۭʿaẓīmungreat
٢٣(23)
Indeed, I found [there] a woman ruling them, and she has been given of all things, and she has a great throne.

وَجَدتُّهَاwajadttuhāAnd I found her
وَقَوْمَهَاwaqawmahāand her people
يَسْجُدُونَyasjudūnaprostrating
لِلشَّمْسِlilshamsito the sun
مِنmininstead of Allah
دُونِdūniinstead of Allah
ٱللَّهِl-lahiinstead of Allah
وَزَيَّنَwazayyanaand has made fair-seeming
لَهُمُlahumuto them
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُl-shayṭānuthe Shaitaan
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْaʿmālahumtheir deeds
فَصَدَّهُمْfaṣaddahumand averted them
عَنِʿanifrom
ٱلسَّبِيلِl-sabīlithe Way
فَهُمْfahumso they
لَاlā(are) not
يَهْتَدُونَyahtadūnaguided
٢٤(24)
I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allāh, and Satan has made their deeds pleasing to them and averted them from [His] way, so they are not guided,
Juz 19Page 379
أَلَّاallāThat not
يَسْجُدُوا۟yasjudūthey prostrate
لِلَّهِlillahito Allah
ٱلَّذِىalladhīthe One Who
يُخْرِجُyukh'rijubrings forth
ٱلْخَبْءَl-khaba-athe hidden
فِىfīin
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earth
وَيَعْلَمُwayaʿlamuand knows
مَاmāwhat
تُخْفُونَtukh'fūnayou conceal
وَمَاwamāand what
تُعْلِنُونَtuʿ'linūnayou declare
٢٥(25)
[And] so they do not prostrate to Allāh, who brings forth what is hidden within the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare -
Juz 19Page 379
ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah
لَآlā(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَilāhagod
إِلَّاillābut
هُوَhuwaHe
رَبُّrabbu(the) Lord
ٱلْعَرْشِl-ʿarshi(of) the Throne
ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۩l-ʿaẓīmithe Great
٢٦(26)
Allāh - there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Great Throne."
Juz 19Page 379Sajdah
۞ قَالَqālaHe said
سَنَنظُرُsananẓuruWe will see
أَصَدَقْتَaṣadaqtawhether you speak (the) truth
أَمْamor
كُنتَkuntayou are
مِنَminaof
ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَl-kādhibīnathe liars
٢٧(27)
[Solomon] said, "We will see whether you were truthful or were of the liars.

ٱذْهَبidh'habGo
بِّكِتَـٰبِىbikitābīwith my letter
هَـٰذَاhādhāthis
فَأَلْقِهْfa-alqihand deliver it
إِلَيْهِمْilayhimto them
ثُمَّthummaThen
تَوَلَّtawallaturn away
عَنْهُمْʿanhumfrom them
فَٱنظُرْfa-unẓurand see
مَاذَاmādhāwhat
يَرْجِعُونَyarjiʿūnathey return
٢٨(28)
Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Then leave them and see what [answer] they will return."

قَالَتْqālatShe said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO
ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟l-mala-uchiefs
إِنِّىٓinnīIndeed [I]
أُلْقِىَul'qiyais delivered
إِلَىَّilayyato me
كِتَـٰبٌۭkitābuna letter
كَرِيمٌkarīmunnoble
٢٩(29)
She said, "O eminent ones, indeed, to me has been delivered a noble letter.

إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, it
مِنmin(is) from
سُلَيْمَـٰنَsulaymānaSulaiman
وَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuand indeed it (is)
بِسْمِbis'miIn the name
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِl-raḥīmithe Most Merciful
٣٠(30)
Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed, it is [i.e., reads]: 'In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

أَلَّاallāThat not
تَعْلُوا۟taʿlūexalt yourselves
عَلَىَّʿalayyaagainst me
وَأْتُونِىwatūnībut come to me
مُسْلِمِينَmus'limīna(in) submission
٣١(31)
Be not haughty with me but come to me in submission [as Muslims].'"
Juz 19Page 379
قَالَتْqālatShe said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO
ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟l-mala-uchiefs
أَفْتُونِىaftūnīAdvise me
فِىٓfīin
أَمْرِىamrīmy affair
مَاmāNot
كُنتُkuntuI would be
قَاطِعَةًqāṭiʿatanthe one to decide
أَمْرًاamranany matter
حَتَّىٰḥattāuntil
تَشْهَدُونِtashhadūniyou are present with me
٣٢(32)
She said, "O eminent ones, advise me in my affair. I would not decide a matter until you witness [for] me."

قَالُوا۟qālūThey said
نَحْنُnaḥnuWe
أُو۟لُوا۟ulū(are) possessors
قُوَّةٍۢquwwatin(of) strength
وَأُو۟لُوا۟wa-ulūand possessors
بَأْسٍۢbasin(of) might
شَدِيدٍۢshadīdingreat
وَٱلْأَمْرُwal-amruand the command
إِلَيْكِilayki(is) up to you
فَٱنظُرِىfa-unẓurīso look
مَاذَاmādhāwhat
تَأْمُرِينَtamurīnayou will command
٣٣(33)
They said, "We are men of strength and of great military might, but the command is yours, so see what you will command."
Juz 19Page 379
قَالَتْqālatShe said
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلْمُلُوكَl-mulūkathe kings
إِذَاidhāwhen
دَخَلُوا۟dakhalūthey enter
قَرْيَةًqaryatana town
أَفْسَدُوهَاafsadūhāthey ruin it
وَجَعَلُوٓا۟wajaʿalūand make
أَعِزَّةَaʿizzata(the) most honorable
أَهْلِهَآahlihā(of) its people
أَذِلَّةًۭ ۖadhillatan(the) lowest
وَكَذَٰلِكَwakadhālikaAnd thus
يَفْعَلُونَyafʿalūnathey do
٣٤(34)
She said, "Indeed kings - when they enter a city, they ruin it and render the honored of its people humbled. And thus do they do.

وَإِنِّىwa-innīBut indeed, I am
مُرْسِلَةٌmur'silatungoing to send
إِلَيْهِمilayhimto them
بِهَدِيَّةٍۢbihadiyyatina gift
فَنَاظِرَةٌۢfanāẓiratunand see
بِمَbimawith what
يَرْجِعُyarjiʿureturn
ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَl-mur'salūnathe messengers
٣٥(35)
But indeed, I will send to them a gift and see with what [reply] the messengers will return."

فَلَمَّاfalammāSo when
جَآءَjāacame
سُلَيْمَـٰنَsulaymāna(to) Sulaiman
قَالَqālahe said
أَتُمِدُّونَنِatumiddūnaniWill you provide me
بِمَالٍۢbimālinwith wealth
فَمَآfamāBut what
ءَاتَىٰنِۦَātāniyaAllah has given me
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has given me
خَيْرٌۭkhayrun(is) better
مِّمَّآmimmāthan what
ءَاتَىٰكُمātākumHe has given you
بَلْbalNay
أَنتُمantumyou
بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْbihadiyyatikumin your gift
تَفْرَحُونَtafraḥūnarejoice
٣٦(36)
So when they came to Solomon, he said, "Do you provide me with wealth? But what Allāh has given me is better than what He has given you. Rather, it is you who rejoice in your gift.

ٱرْجِعْir'jiʿReturn
إِلَيْهِمْilayhimto them
فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّهُمfalanatiyannahumsurely, we will come to them
بِجُنُودٍۢbijunūdinwith hosts
لَّاlānot
قِبَلَqibala(is) resistance
لَهُمlahumfor them
بِهَاbihāof it
وَلَنُخْرِجَنَّهُمwalanukh'rijannahumand surely, we will drive them out
مِّنْهَآmin'hāfrom there
أَذِلَّةًۭadhillatan(in) humiliation
وَهُمْwahumand they
صَـٰغِرُونَṣāghirūna(will be) abased
٣٧(37)
Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers that they will be powerless to encounter, and we will surely expel them therefrom in humiliation, and they will be debased."

قَالَqālaHe said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO
ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟l-mala-uchiefs
أَيُّكُمْayyukumWhich of you
يَأْتِينِىyatīnīwill bring me
بِعَرْشِهَاbiʿarshihāher throne
قَبْلَqablabefore
أَنanthat
يَأْتُونِىyatūnīthey come to me
مُسْلِمِينَmus'limīna(in) submission
٣٨(38)
[Solomon] said, "O assembly [of jinn], which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?"

قَالَqālaSaid
عِفْرِيتٌۭʿif'rītuna strong one
مِّنَminaof
ٱلْجِنِّl-jinithe jinn
أَنَا۠anāI
ءَاتِيكَātīkawill bring it to you
بِهِۦbihiwill bring it to you
قَبْلَqablabefore
أَنan[that]
تَقُومَtaqūmayou rise
مِنminfrom
مَّقَامِكَ ۖmaqāmikayour place
وَإِنِّىwa-innīAnd indeed, I am
عَلَيْهِʿalayhifor it
لَقَوِىٌّlaqawiyyunsurely, strong
أَمِينٌۭamīnuntrustworthy
٣٩(39)
A powerful one from among the jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy."

قَالَqālaSaid
ٱلَّذِىalladhīone who
عِندَهُۥʿindahuwith him
عِلْمٌۭʿil'mun(was) knowledge
مِّنَminaof
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Scripture
أَنَا۠anāI
ءَاتِيكَātīkawill bring it to you
بِهِۦbihiwill bring it to you
قَبْلَqablabefore
أَنan[that]
يَرْتَدَّyartaddareturns
إِلَيْكَilaykato you
طَرْفُكَ ۚṭarfukayour glance
فَلَمَّاfalammāThen when
رَءَاهُraāhuhe saw it
مُسْتَقِرًّاmus'taqirranplaced
عِندَهُۥʿindahubefore him
قَالَqālahe said
هَـٰذَاhādhāThis
مِنmin(is) from
فَضْلِfaḍli(the) Favor
رَبِّىrabbī(of) my Lord
لِيَبْلُوَنِىٓliyabluwanīto test me
ءَأَشْكُرُa-ashkuruwhether I am grateful
أَمْamor
أَكْفُرُ ۖakfuruI am ungrateful
وَمَنwamanAnd whoever
شَكَرَshakara(is) grateful
فَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen only
يَشْكُرُyashkuruhe is grateful
لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖlinafsihifor his own soul
وَمَنwamanAnd whoever
كَفَرَkafara(is) ungrateful
فَإِنَّfa-innathen indeed
رَبِّىrabbīmy Lord
غَنِىٌّۭghaniyyun(is) Self-sufficient
كَرِيمٌۭkarīmunNoble
٤٠(40)
Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you." And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful - his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful - then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous."

قَالَqālaHe said
نَكِّرُوا۟nakkirūDisguise
لَهَاlahāfor her
عَرْشَهَاʿarshahāher throne
نَنظُرْnanẓurwe will see
أَتَهْتَدِىٓatahtadīwhether she will be guided
أَمْamor
تَكُونُtakūnuwill be
مِنَminaof
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
لَاlāare not guided
يَهْتَدُونَyahtadūnaare not guided
٤١(41)
He said, "Disguise for her her throne; we will see whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided."

فَلَمَّاfalammāSo when
جَآءَتْjāatshe came
قِيلَqīlait was said
أَهَـٰكَذَاahākadhāIs like this
عَرْشُكِ ۖʿarshukiyour throne
قَالَتْqālatShe said
كَأَنَّهُۥka-annahuIt is like
هُوَ ۚhuwait
وَأُوتِينَاwaūtīnāAnd we were given
ٱلْعِلْمَl-ʿil'mathe knowledge
مِنminbefore her
قَبْلِهَاqablihābefore her
وَكُنَّاwakunnāand we have been
مُسْلِمِينَmus'limīnaMuslims
٤٢(42)
So when she arrived, it was said [to her], "Is your throne like this?" She said, "[It is] as though it was it." [Solomon said], "And we were given knowledge before her, and we have been Muslims [in submission to Allāh].

وَصَدَّهَاwaṣaddahāAnd has averted her
مَاmāwhat
كَانَتkānatshe used (to)
تَّعْبُدُtaʿbuduworship
مِنminbesides
دُونِdūnibesides
ٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahiAllah
إِنَّهَاinnahāIndeed, she
كَانَتْkānatwas
مِنminfrom
قَوْمٍۢqawmina people
كَـٰفِرِينَkāfirīnawho disbelieve
٤٣(43)
And that which she was worshipping other than Allāh had averted her [from submission to Him]. Indeed, she was from a disbelieving people."

قِيلَqīlaIt was said
لَهَاlahāto her
ٱدْخُلِىud'khulīEnter
ٱلصَّرْحَ ۖl-ṣarḥathe palace
فَلَمَّاfalammāThen when
رَأَتْهُra-athushe saw it
حَسِبَتْهُḥasibathushe thought it
لُجَّةًۭlujjatan(was) a pool
وَكَشَفَتْwakashafatand she uncovered
عَنʿan[on]
سَاقَيْهَا ۚsāqayhāher shins
قَالَqālaHe said
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, it
صَرْحٌۭṣarḥun(is) a palace
مُّمَرَّدٌۭmumarradunmade smooth
مِّنminof
قَوَارِيرَ ۗqawārīraglass
قَالَتْqālatShe said
رَبِّrabbiMy Lord
إِنِّىinnīindeed, I
ظَلَمْتُẓalamtu[I] have wronged
نَفْسِىnafsīmyself
وَأَسْلَمْتُwa-aslamtuand I submit
مَعَmaʿawith
سُلَيْمَـٰنَsulaymānaSulaiman
لِلَّهِlillahito Allah
رَبِّrabbi(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
٤٤(44)
She was told, "Enter the palace." But when she saw it, she thought it was a body of water and uncovered her shins [to wade through]. He said, "Indeed, it is a palace [whose floor is] made smooth with glass." She said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allāh, Lord of the worlds."

وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainly
أَرْسَلْنَآarsalnāWe sent
إِلَىٰilāto
ثَمُودَthamūdaThamud
أَخَاهُمْakhāhumtheir brother
صَـٰلِحًاṣāliḥanSalih
أَنِanithat
ٱعْبُدُوا۟uʿ'budūWorship
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
فَإِذَاfa-idhāThen behold
هُمْhumThey
فَرِيقَانِfarīqāni(became) two parties
يَخْتَصِمُونَyakhtaṣimūnaquarreling
٤٥(45)
And We had certainly sent to Thamūd their brother Ṣāliḥ, [saying], "Worship Allāh," and at once they were two parties conflicting.

قَالَqālaHe said
يَـٰقَوْمِyāqawmiO my people
لِمَlimaWhy
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَtastaʿjilūna(do) you seek to hasten
بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِbil-sayi-atithe evil
قَبْلَqablabefore
ٱلْحَسَنَةِ ۖl-ḥasanatithe good
لَوْلَاlawlāWhy not
تَسْتَغْفِرُونَtastaghfirūnayou ask forgiveness
ٱللَّهَl-laha(of) Allah
لَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you may
تُرْحَمُونَtur'ḥamūnareceive mercy
٤٦(46)
He said, "O my people, why are you impatient for evil before [i.e., instead of] good? Why do you not seek forgiveness of Allāh that you may receive mercy?"

قَالُوا۟qālūThey said
ٱطَّيَّرْنَاiṭṭayyarnāWe consider you a bad omen
بِكَbikaWe consider you a bad omen
وَبِمَنwabimanand those
مَّعَكَ ۚmaʿakawith you
قَالَqālaHe said
طَـٰٓئِرُكُمْṭāirukumYour bad omen
عِندَʿinda(is) with
ٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahiAllah
بَلْbalNay
أَنتُمْantumyou
قَوْمٌۭqawmun(are) a people
تُفْتَنُونَtuf'tanūnabeing tested
٤٧(47)
They said, "We consider you a bad omen, you and those with you." He said, "Your omen [i.e., fate] is with Allāh. Rather, you are a people being tested."

وَكَانَwakānaAnd were
فِىfīin
ٱلْمَدِينَةِl-madīnatithe city
تِسْعَةُtis'ʿatunine
رَهْطٍۢrahṭinfamily heads
يُفْسِدُونَyuf'sidūnathey were spreading corruption
فِىfīin
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe land
وَلَاwalāand not
يُصْلِحُونَyuṣ'liḥūnareforming
٤٨(48)
And there were in the city nine family heads causing corruption in the land and not amending [its affairs].

قَالُوا۟qālūThey said
تَقَاسَمُوا۟taqāsamūSwear to each other
بِٱللَّهِbil-lahiby Allah
لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُۥlanubayyitannahusurely, we will attack him by night
وَأَهْلَهُۥwa-ahlahuand his family
ثُمَّthummaThen
لَنَقُولَنَّlanaqūlannawe will surely say
لِوَلِيِّهِۦliwaliyyihito his heir
مَاmāNot
شَهِدْنَاshahid'nāwe witnessed
مَهْلِكَmahlika(the) destruction
أَهْلِهِۦahlihi(of) his family
وَإِنَّاwa-innāand indeed, we
لَصَـٰدِقُونَlaṣādiqūna(are) surely truthful
٤٩(49)
They said, "Take a mutual oath by Allāh that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will say to his executor, 'We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.'"

وَمَكَرُوا۟wamakarūSo they plotted
مَكْرًۭاmakrana plot
وَمَكَرْنَاwamakarnāand We planned
مَكْرًۭاmakrana plan
وَهُمْwahumwhile they
لَاlā(did) not
يَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnaperceive
٥٠(50)
And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not.

فَٱنظُرْfa-unẓurThen see
كَيْفَkayfahow
كَانَkānawas
عَـٰقِبَةُʿāqibatu(the) end
مَكْرِهِمْmakrihim(of) their plot
أَنَّاannāthat We
دَمَّرْنَـٰهُمْdammarnāhumdestroyed them
وَقَوْمَهُمْwaqawmahumand their people
أَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīnaall
٥١(51)
Then look how was the outcome of their plan - that We destroyed them and their people, all.

فَتِلْكَfatil'kaSo, these
بُيُوتُهُمْbuyūtuhum(are) their houses
خَاوِيَةًۢkhāwiyatanruined
بِمَاbimābecause
ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۗẓalamūthey wronged
إِنَّinnaIndeed
فِىfīin
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
لَـَٔايَةًۭlaāyatansurely, is a sign
لِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a people
يَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnawho know
٥٢(52)
So those are their houses, desolate because of the wrong they had done. Indeed in that is a sign for people who know.

وَأَنجَيْنَاwa-anjaynāAnd We saved
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieved
وَكَانُوا۟wakānūand used (to)
يَتَّقُونَyattaqūnafear (Allah)
٥٣(53)
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allāh.

وَلُوطًاwalūṭanAnd Lut
إِذْidhwhen
قَالَqālahe said
لِقَوْمِهِۦٓliqawmihito his people
أَتَأْتُونَatatūnaDo you commit
ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَl-fāḥishata[the] immorality
وَأَنتُمْwa-antumwhile you
تُبْصِرُونَtub'ṣirūnasee
٥٤(54)
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit immorality while you are seeing?

أَئِنَّكُمْa-innakumWhy do you
لَتَأْتُونَlatatūnaapproach
ٱلرِّجَالَl-rijālathe men
شَهْوَةًۭshahwatan(with) lust
مِّنmininstead of
دُونِdūniinstead of
ٱلنِّسَآءِ ۚl-nisāithe women
بَلْbalNay
أَنتُمْantumyou
قَوْمٌۭqawmun(are) a people
تَجْهَلُونَtajhalūnaignorant
٥٥(55)
Do you indeed approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly."

۞ فَمَاfamāBut not
كَانَkānawas
جَوَابَjawāba(the) answer
قَوْمِهِۦٓqawmihi(of) his people
إِلَّآillāexcept
أَنanthat
قَالُوٓا۟qālūthey said
أَخْرِجُوٓا۟akhrijūDrive out
ءَالَāla(the) family
لُوطٍۢlūṭin(of) Lut
مِّنminfrom
قَرْيَتِكُمْ ۖqaryatikumyour town
إِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, they
أُنَاسٌۭunāsun(are) people
يَتَطَهَّرُونَyataṭahharūnawho keep clean and pure
٥٦(56)
But the answer of his people was not except that they said, "Expel the family of Lot from your city. Indeed, they are people who keep themselves pure."

فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُfa-anjaynāhuSo We saved him
وَأَهْلَهُۥٓwa-ahlahuand his family
إِلَّاillāexcept
ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥim'ra-atahuhis wife
قَدَّرْنَـٰهَاqaddarnāhāWe destined her
مِنَmina(to be) of
ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَl-ghābirīnathose who remained behind
٥٧(57)
So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; We destined her to be of those who remained behind.

وَأَمْطَرْنَاwa-amṭarnāAnd We rained
عَلَيْهِمʿalayhimupon them
مَّطَرًۭا ۖmaṭarana rain
فَسَآءَfasāaand was evil
مَطَرُmaṭaru(the) rain
ٱلْمُنذَرِينَl-mundharīna(on) those who were warned
٥٨(58)
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.

قُلِquliSay
ٱلْحَمْدُl-ḥamduAll praise (be)
لِلَّهِlillahito Allah
وَسَلَـٰمٌwasalāmunand peace (be)
عَلَىٰʿalāupon
عِبَادِهِʿibādihiHis slaves
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whom
ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ۗiṣ'ṭafāHe has chosen
ءَآللَّهُāllahuIs Allah
خَيْرٌkhayrunbetter
أَمَّاammāor what
يُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnathey associate (with Him)
٥٩(59)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Praise be to Allāh, and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allāh better or what they associate with Him?"

أَمَّنْammanOr Who
خَلَقَkhalaqahas created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earth
وَأَنزَلَwa-anzalaand sent down
لَكُمlakumfor you
مِّنَminafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe sky
مَآءًۭmāanwater
فَأَنۢبَتْنَاfa-anbatnāAnd We caused to grow
بِهِۦbihithereby
حَدَآئِقَḥadāiqagardens
ذَاتَdhātaof beauty (and delight)
بَهْجَةٍۢbahjatinof beauty (and delight)
مَّاmānot
كَانَkānait is
لَكُمْlakumfor you
أَنanthat
تُنۢبِتُوا۟tunbitūyou cause to grow
شَجَرَهَآ ۗshajarahātheir trees
أَءِلَـٰهٌۭa-ilāhunIs there any god
مَّعَmaʿawith
ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllah
بَلْbalNay
هُمْhumthey
قَوْمٌۭqawmun(are) a people
يَعْدِلُونَyaʿdilūnawho ascribe equals
٦٠(60)
[More precisely], is He [not best] who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you rain from the sky, causing to grow thereby gardens of joyful beauty which you could not [otherwise] have grown the trees thereof? Is there a deity with Allāh? [No], but they are a people who ascribe equals [to Him].

أَمَّنammanOr Who
جَعَلَjaʿalamade
ٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earth
قَرَارًۭاqarārana firm abode
وَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand made
خِلَـٰلَهَآkhilālahā(in) its midst
أَنْهَـٰرًۭاanhāranrivers
وَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand made
لَهَاlahāfor it
رَوَٰسِىَrawāsiyafirm mountains
وَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand made
بَيْنَbaynabetween
ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِl-baḥraynithe two seas
حَاجِزًا ۗḥājizana barrier
أَءِلَـٰهٌۭa-ilāhunIs there any god
مَّعَmaʿawith
ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllah
بَلْbalNay
أَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of them
لَاlā(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
٦١(61)
Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allāh? [No], but most of them do not know.

أَمَّنammanOr Who
يُجِيبُyujīburesponds
ٱلْمُضْطَرَّl-muḍ'ṭara(to) the distressed one
إِذَاidhāwhen
دَعَاهُdaʿāhuhe calls Him
وَيَكْشِفُwayakshifuand He removes
ٱلسُّوٓءَl-sūathe evil
وَيَجْعَلُكُمْwayajʿalukumand makes you
خُلَفَآءَkhulafāainheritors
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗl-arḍi(of) the earth
أَءِلَـٰهٌۭa-ilāhunIs there any god
مَّعَmaʿawith
ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllah
قَلِيلًۭاqalīlanLittle
مَّاmā(is) what
تَذَكَّرُونَtadhakkarūnayou remember
٦٢(62)
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allāh? Little do you remember.

أَمَّنammanOr Who
يَهْدِيكُمْyahdīkumguides you
فِىfīin
ظُلُمَـٰتِẓulumāti(the) darkness[es]
ٱلْبَرِّl-bari(of) the land
وَٱلْبَحْرِwal-baḥriand the sea
وَمَنwamanand Who
يُرْسِلُyur'silusends
ٱلرِّيَـٰحَl-riyāḥathe winds
بُشْرًۢاbush'ran(as) glad tidings
بَيْنَbaynabefore
يَدَىْyadaybefore
رَحْمَتِهِۦٓ ۗraḥmatihiHis Mercy
أَءِلَـٰهٌۭa-ilāhunIs there any god
مَّعَmaʿawith
ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllah
تَعَـٰلَىtaʿālāHigh is
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
عَمَّاʿammāabove what
يُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnathey associate (with Him)
٦٣(63)
Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allāh? High is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.

أَمَّنammanOr Who
يَبْدَؤُا۟yabda-uoriginates
ٱلْخَلْقَl-khalqathe creation
ثُمَّthummathen
يُعِيدُهُۥyuʿīduhurepeats it
وَمَنwamanand Who
يَرْزُقُكُمyarzuqukumprovides you
مِّنَminafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗwal-arḍiand the earth
أَءِلَـٰهٌۭa-ilāhunIs there any god
مَّعَmaʿawith
ٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllah
قُلْqulSay
هَاتُوا۟hātūBring forth
بُرْهَـٰنَكُمْbur'hānakumyour proof
إِنinif
كُنتُمْkuntumyou are
صَـٰدِقِينَṣādiqīnatruthful
٦٤(64)
Is He [not best] who begins creation and then repeats it and who provides for you from the heaven and earth? Is there a deity with Allāh? Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."

قُلqulSay
لَّاlāNo (one)
يَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknows
مَنmanwhoever
فِىfī(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earth
ٱلْغَيْبَl-ghayba(of) the unseen
إِلَّاillāexcept
ٱللَّهُ ۚl-lahuAllah
وَمَاwamāand not
يَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnathey perceive
أَيَّانَayyānawhen
يُبْعَثُونَyub'ʿathūnathey will be resurrected
٦٥(65)
Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allāh, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected."

بَلِbaliNay
ٱدَّٰرَكَiddārakais arrested
عِلْمُهُمْʿil'muhumtheir knowledge
فِىfīof
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚl-ākhiratithe Hereafter
بَلْbalNay
هُمْhumthey
فِىfī(are) in
شَكٍّۢshakkindoubt
مِّنْهَا ۖmin'hāabout it
بَلْbalNay
هُمhumthey
مِّنْهَاmin'hāabout it
عَمُونَʿamūna(are) blind
٦٦(66)
Rather, their knowledge is arrested concerning the Hereafter. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are, concerning it, blind.

وَقَالَwaqālaAnd say
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوٓا۟kafarūdisbelieve
أَءِذَاa-idhāWhat, when
كُنَّاkunnāwe have become
تُرَٰبًۭاturābandust
وَءَابَآؤُنَآwaābāunāand our forefathers
أَئِنَّاa-innāwill we
لَمُخْرَجُونَlamukh'rajūnasurely be brought out
٦٧(67)
And those who disbelieve say, "When we have become dust as well as our forefathers, will we indeed be brought out [of the graves]?

لَقَدْlaqadCertainly
وُعِدْنَاwuʿid'nāwe have been promised
هَـٰذَاhādhāthis
نَحْنُnaḥnuwe
وَءَابَآؤُنَاwaābāunāand our forefathers
مِنminbefore
قَبْلُqablubefore
إِنْinNot
هَـٰذَآhādhā(is) this
إِلَّآillāexcept
أَسَـٰطِيرُasāṭīrutales
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the former (people)
٦٨(68)
We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is not but legends of the former peoples."

قُلْqulSay
سِيرُوا۟sīrūTravel
فِىfīin
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe land
فَٱنظُرُوا۟fa-unẓurūand see
كَيْفَkayfahow
كَانَkānawas
عَـٰقِبَةُʿāqibatu(the) end
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَl-muj'rimīna(of) the criminals
٦٩(69)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Proceed [i.e., travel] through the land and observe how was the end of the criminals."

وَلَاwalāAnd (do) not
تَحْزَنْtaḥzangrieve
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimover them
وَلَاwalāand not
تَكُنtakunbe
فِىfīin
ضَيْقٍۢḍayqindistress
مِّمَّاmimmāfrom what
يَمْكُرُونَyamkurūnathey plot
٧٠(70)
And grieve not over them or be in distress from what they conspire.

وَيَقُولُونَwayaqūlūnaAnd they say
مَتَىٰmatāWhen
هَـٰذَاhādhā(will) this
ٱلْوَعْدُl-waʿdupromise (be fulfilled)
إِنinif
كُنتُمْkuntumyou are
صَـٰدِقِينَṣādiqīnatruthful
٧١(71)
And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?"

قُلْqulSay
عَسَىٰٓʿasāPerhaps
أَنanthat
يَكُونَyakūnais
رَدِفَradifaclose behind
لَكُمlakumyou
بَعْضُbaʿḍusome
ٱلَّذِىalladhī(of) that which
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَtastaʿjilūnayou seek to hasten
٧٢(72)
Say, "Perhaps it is close behind you [i.e., very near] - some of that for which you are impatient.

وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeed
رَبَّكَrabbakayour Lord
لَذُوladhū(is) full of Bounty
فَضْلٍfaḍlin(is) full of Bounty
عَلَىʿalāfor
ٱلنَّاسِl-nāsithe mankind
وَلَـٰكِنَّwalākinnabut
أَكْثَرَهُمْaktharahummost of them
لَاlā(are) not
يَشْكُرُونَyashkurūnagrateful
٧٣(73)
And indeed, your Lord is the possessor of bounty for the people, but most of them are not grateful."

وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeed
رَبَّكَrabbakayour Lord
لَيَعْلَمُlayaʿlamusurely knows
مَاmāwhat
تُكِنُّtukinnuconceals
صُدُورُهُمْṣudūruhumtheir breasts
وَمَاwamāand what
يُعْلِنُونَyuʿ'linūnathey declare
٧٤(74)
And indeed, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare.

وَمَاwamāAnd not (is)
مِنْminany (thing)
غَآئِبَةٍۢghāibatinhidden
فِىfīin
ٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earth
إِلَّاillābut
فِىfī(is) in
كِتَـٰبٍۢkitābina Record
مُّبِينٍmubīninclear
٧٥(75)
And there is nothing concealed within the heaven and the earth except that it is in a clear Register.

إِنَّinnaIndeed
هَـٰذَاhādhāthis
ٱلْقُرْءَانَl-qur'āna[the] Quran
يَقُصُّyaquṣṣurelates
عَلَىٰʿalāto
بَنِىٓbanī(the) Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَis'rāīla(of) Israel
أَكْثَرَaktharamost
ٱلَّذِىalladhī(of) that
هُمْhumthey
فِيهِfīhiin it
يَخْتَلِفُونَyakhtalifūnadiffer
٧٦(76)
Indeed, this Qur’ān relates to the Children of Israel most of that over which they disagree.

وَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuAnd indeed, it
لَهُدًۭىlahudan(is) surely a guidance
وَرَحْمَةٌۭwaraḥmatunand a mercy
لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَlil'mu'minīnafor the believers
٧٧(77)
And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers.

إِنَّinnaIndeed
رَبَّكَrabbakayour Lord
يَقْضِىyaqḍīwill judge
بَيْنَهُمbaynahumbetween them
بِحُكْمِهِۦ ۚbiḥuk'mihiby His Judgment
وَهُوَwahuwaand He
ٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْعَلِيمُl-ʿalīmuthe All-Knower
٧٨(78)
Indeed, your Lord will judge between them by His [wise] judgement. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.

فَتَوَكَّلْfatawakkalSo put your trust
عَلَىʿalāin
ٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahiAllah
إِنَّكَinnakaindeed, you
عَلَىʿalā(are) on
ٱلْحَقِّl-ḥaqithe truth
ٱلْمُبِينِl-mubīnimanifest
٧٩(79)
So rely upon Allāh; indeed, you are upon the clear truth.

إِنَّكَinnakaIndeed, you
لَاlā(can) not
تُسْمِعُtus'miʿucause to hear
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰl-mawtāthe dead
وَلَاwalāand not
تُسْمِعُtus'miʿucan you cause to hear
ٱلصُّمَّl-ṣumathe deaf
ٱلدُّعَآءَl-duʿāathe call
إِذَاidhāwhen
وَلَّوْا۟wallawthey turn back
مُدْبِرِينَmud'birīnaretreating
٨٠(80)
Indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned their backs retreating.

وَمَآwamāAnd not
أَنتَanta(can) you
بِهَـٰدِىbihādīguide
ٱلْعُمْىِl-ʿum'yithe blind
عَنʿanfrom
ضَلَـٰلَتِهِمْ ۖḍalālatihimtheir error
إِنinNot
تُسْمِعُtus'miʿuyou can cause to hear
إِلَّاillāexcept
مَنman(those) who
يُؤْمِنُyu'minubelieve
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاbiāyātināin Our Signs
فَهُمfahumso they
مُّسْلِمُونَmus'limūna(are) Muslims
٨١(81)
And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. You will only make hear those who believe in Our verses so they are Muslims [i.e., submitting to Allāh].

۞ وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd when
وَقَعَwaqaʿa(is) fulfilled
ٱلْقَوْلُl-qawluthe word
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimagainst them
أَخْرَجْنَاakhrajnāWe will bring forth
لَهُمْlahumfor them
دَآبَّةًۭdābbatana creature
مِّنَminafrom
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth
تُكَلِّمُهُمْtukallimuhumspeaking to them
أَنَّannathat
ٱلنَّاسَl-nāsathe people
كَانُوا۟kānūwere
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاbiāyātināof Our Signs
لَاlānot
يُوقِنُونَyūqinūnacertain
٨٢(82)
And when the word [i.e., decree] befalls them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, [saying] that the people were, of Our verses, not certain [in faith].

وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) Day
نَحْشُرُnaḥshuruWe will gather
مِنminfrom
كُلِّkullievery
أُمَّةٍۢummatinnation
فَوْجًۭاfawjana troop
مِّمَّنmimmanof (those) who
يُكَذِّبُyukadhibudeny
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاbiāyātināOur Signs
فَهُمْfahumand they
يُوزَعُونَyūzaʿūnawill be set in rows
٨٣(83)
And [warn of] the Day when We will gather from every nation a company of those who deny Our signs, and they will be [driven] in rows

حَتَّىٰٓḥattāUntil
إِذَاidhāwhen
جَآءُوjāūthey come
قَالَqālaHe will say
أَكَذَّبْتُمakadhabtumDid you deny
بِـَٔايَـٰتِىbiāyātīMy Signs
وَلَمْwalamwhile not
تُحِيطُوا۟tuḥīṭūyou encompassed
بِهَاbihāthem
عِلْمًاʿil'man(in) knowledge
أَمَّاذَاammādhāor what
كُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
٨٤(84)
Until, when they arrive [at the place of Judgement], He will say, "Did you deny My signs while you encompassed them not in knowledge, or what [was it that] you were doing?"

وَوَقَعَwawaqaʿaAnd (will be) fulfilled
ٱلْقَوْلُl-qawluthe word
عَلَيْهِمʿalayhimagainst them
بِمَاbimābecause
ظَلَمُوا۟ẓalamūthey wronged
فَهُمْfahumand they
لَاlā(will) not
يَنطِقُونَyanṭiqūnaspeak
٨٥(85)
And the decree will befall them for the wrong they did, and they will not [be able to] speak.

أَلَمْalamDo not
يَرَوْا۟yarawthey see
أَنَّاannāthat We
جَعَلْنَاjaʿalnā[We] have made
ٱلَّيْلَal-laylathe night
لِيَسْكُنُوا۟liyaskunūthat they may rest
فِيهِfīhiin it
وَٱلنَّهَارَwal-nahāraand the day
مُبْصِرًا ۚmub'ṣirangiving visibility
إِنَّinnaIndeed
فِىfīin
ذَٰلِكَdhālikathat
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢlaāyātinsurely (are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a people
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believe
٨٦(86)
Do they not see that We made the night that they may rest therein and the day giving sight? Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.

وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) Day
يُنفَخُyunfakhuwill be blown
فِىfī[in]
ٱلصُّورِl-ṣūrithe trumpet
فَفَزِعَfafaziʿaand will be terrified
مَنmanwhoever
فِىfī(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَمَنwamanand whoever
فِىfī(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth
إِلَّاillāexcept
مَنmanwhom
شَآءَshāaAllah wills
ٱللَّهُ ۚl-lahuAllah wills
وَكُلٌّwakullunAnd all
أَتَوْهُatawhu(will) come to Him
دَٰخِرِينَdākhirīnahumbled
٨٧(87)
And [warn of] the Day the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified except whom Allāh wills. And all will come to Him humbled.
Juz 20Page 384
وَتَرَىwatarāAnd you see
ٱلْجِبَالَl-jibālathe mountains
تَحْسَبُهَاtaḥsabuhāthinking them
جَامِدَةًۭjāmidatanfirmly fixed
وَهِىَwahiyawhile they
تَمُرُّtamurruwill pass
مَرَّmarra(as the) passing
ٱلسَّحَابِ ۚl-saḥābi(of) the clouds
صُنْعَṣun'ʿa(The) Work
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
ٱلَّذِىٓalladhīWho
أَتْقَنَatqanaperfected
كُلَّkullaall
شَىْءٍ ۚshayinthings
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, He
خَبِيرٌۢkhabīrun(is) All-Aware
بِمَاbimāof what
تَفْعَلُونَtafʿalūnayou do
٨٨(88)
And you see the mountains, thinking them motionless, while they will pass as the passing of clouds. [It is] the work of Allāh, who perfected all things. Indeed, He is Aware of that which you do.

مَنmanWhoever
جَآءَjāacomes
بِٱلْحَسَنَةِbil-ḥasanatiwith the good
فَلَهُۥfalahuthen for him
خَيْرٌۭkhayrun(will be) better
مِّنْهَاmin'hāthan it
وَهُمwahumand they
مِّنminfrom
فَزَعٍۢfazaʿin(the) terror
يَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhin(of) that Day
ءَامِنُونَāminūna(will be) safe
٨٩(89)
Whoever comes [at Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it, and they, from the terror of that Day, will be safe.

وَمَنwamanAnd whoever
جَآءَjāacomes
بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِbil-sayi-atiwith the evil
فَكُبَّتْfakubbatwill be cast down
وُجُوهُهُمْwujūhuhumtheir faces
فِىfīin
ٱلنَّارِl-nārithe Fire
هَلْhalAre
تُجْزَوْنَtuj'zawnayou recompensed
إِلَّاillāexcept
مَاmā(for) what
كُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
٩٠(90)
And whoever comes with an evil deed - their faces will be overturned into the Fire, [and it will be said], "Are you recompensed except for what you used to do?"

إِنَّمَآinnamāOnly
أُمِرْتُumir'tuI am commanded
أَنْanthat
أَعْبُدَaʿbudaI worship
رَبَّrabba(the) Lord
هَـٰذِهِhādhihi(of) this
ٱلْبَلْدَةِl-baldaticity
ٱلَّذِىalladhīthe One Who
حَرَّمَهَاḥarramahāmade it sacred
وَلَهُۥwalahuand to Him (belongs)
كُلُّkulluall
شَىْءٍۢ ۖshayinthings
وَأُمِرْتُwa-umir'tuAnd I am commanded
أَنْanthat
أَكُونَakūnaI be
مِنَminaof
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَl-mus'limīnathe Muslims
٩١(91)
[Say, O Muḥammad], "I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred and to whom [belongs] all things. And I am commanded to be of the Muslims [i.e., those who submit to Allāh]

وَأَنْwa-anAnd that
أَتْلُوَا۟atluwāI recite
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ ۖl-qur'ānathe Quran
فَمَنِfamaniAnd whoever
ٱهْتَدَىٰih'tadāaccepts guidance
فَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen only
يَهْتَدِىyahtadīhe accepts guidance
لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖlinafsihifor himself
وَمَنwamanand whoever
ضَلَّḍallagoes astray
فَقُلْfaqulthen say
إِنَّمَآinnamāOnly
أَنَا۠anāI am
مِنَminaof
ٱلْمُنذِرِينَl-mundhirīnathe warners
٩٢(92)
And to recite the Qur’ān." And whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] himself; and whoever strays - say, "I am only [one] of the warners."

وَقُلِwaquliAnd say
ٱلْحَمْدُl-ḥamduAll praise (be)
لِلَّهِlillahito Allah
سَيُرِيكُمْsayurīkumHe will show you
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦāyātihiHis Signs
فَتَعْرِفُونَهَا ۚfataʿrifūnahāand you will recognize them
وَمَاwamāAnd your Lord is not
رَبُّكَrabbukaAnd your Lord is not
بِغَـٰفِلٍbighāfilinunaware
عَمَّاʿammāof what
تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou do
٩٣(93)
And say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allāh. He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do."
