tta-seenTa Seen
تِلْكَ
til'kaThese
ءَايَـٰتُ
āyātu(are the) Verses
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ
l-qur'āni(of) the Quran
وَكِتَابٍۢ
wakitābinand a Book
مُّبِينٍ
mubīninclear
١
(1)
Ṭā, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur’ān [i.e., recitation] and a clear Book

هُدًۭى
hudanA guidance
وَبُشْرَىٰ
wabush'rāand glad tidings
لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
lil'mu'minīnafor the believers
٢
(2)
As guidance and good tidings for the believers

3
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnaThose who
يُقِيمُونَ
yuqīmūnaestablish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
l-ṣalatathe prayer
وَيُؤْتُونَ
wayu'tūnaand give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
l-zakatazakah
وَهُم
wahumand they
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
bil-ākhiratiin the Hereafter
هُمْ
hum[they]
يُوقِنُونَ
yūqinūnabelieve with certainty
٣
(3)
Who establish prayer and give zakāh, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūnabelieve
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
bil-ākhiratiin the Hereafter
زَيَّنَّا
zayyannāWe have made fair-seeming
لَهُمْ
lahumto them
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ
aʿmālahumtheir deeds
فَهُمْ
fahumso they
يَعْمَهُونَ
yaʿmahūnawander blindly
٤
(4)
Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly.

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāikaThose
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna(are) the ones
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
سُوٓءُ
sūu(is) an evil
ٱلْعَذَابِ
l-ʿadhābi[the] punishment
وَهُمْ
wahumand they
فِى
in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhiratithe Hereafter
هُمُ
humu[they]
ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ
l-akhsarūna(will be) the greatest losers
٥
(5)
Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers.

وَإِنَّكَ
wa-innakaAnd indeed, you
لَتُلَقَّى
latulaqqāsurely, receive
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
l-qur'ānathe Quran
مِن
minfrom [near]
لَّدُنْ
ladunfrom [near]
حَكِيمٍ
ḥakīminthe All-Wise
عَلِيمٍ
ʿalīminthe All-Knower
٦
(6)
And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you receive the Qur’ān from one Wise and Knowing.

إِذْ
idhWhen
قَالَ
qālasaid
مُوسَىٰ
mūsāMusa
لِأَهْلِهِۦٓ
li-ahlihito his family
إِنِّىٓ
innīIndeed, I
ءَانَسْتُ
ānastuperceive
نَارًۭا
nārana fire
سَـَٔاتِيكُم
saātīkumI will bring you
مِّنْهَا
min'hāfrom it
بِخَبَرٍ
bikhabarinsome information
أَوْ
awor
ءَاتِيكُم
ātīkumI will bring you
بِشِهَابٍۢ
bishihābina torch
قَبَسٍۢ
qabasinburning
لَّعَلَّكُمْ
laʿallakumso that you may
تَصْطَلُونَ
taṣṭalūnawarm yourselves
٧
(7)
[Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves."

فَلَمَّا
falammāBut when
جَآءَهَا
jāahāhe came to it
نُودِىَ
nūdiyahe was called
أَنۢ
an[that]
بُورِكَ
būrikaBlessed is
مَن
manwho
فِى
(is) at
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nārithe fire
وَمَنْ
wamanand whoever
حَوْلَهَا
ḥawlahā(is) around it
وَسُبْحَـٰنَ
wasub'ḥānaAnd glory be
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(to) Allah
رَبِّ
rabbi(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
٨
(8)
But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.

يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ
yāmūsāO Musa
إِنَّهُۥٓ
innahuIndeed
أَنَا
anāI Am
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzuthe All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
٩
(9)
O Moses, indeed it is I - Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

وَأَلْقِ
wa-alqiAnd, "Throw
عَصَاكَ ۚ
ʿaṣākayour staff
فَلَمَّا
falammāBut when
رَءَاهَا
raāhāhe saw it
تَهْتَزُّ
tahtazzumoving
كَأَنَّهَا
ka-annahāas if it
جَآنٌّۭ
jānnun(were) a snake
وَلَّىٰ
wallāhe turned back
مُدْبِرًۭا
mud'biran(in) flight
وَلَمْ
walamand (did) not
يُعَقِّبْ ۚ
yuʿaqqiblook back
يَـٰمُوسَىٰ
yāmūsāO Musa
لَا
(Do) not
تَخَفْ
takhaffear
إِنِّى
innīIndeed, [I]
لَا
(do) not
يَخَافُ
yakhāfufear
لَدَىَّ
ladayya(in) My presence
ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
l-mur'salūnathe Messengers
١٠
(10)
And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allāh said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.

فَإِنِّى
fa-innīthen indeed, I Am
غَفُورٌۭ
ghafūrunOft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌۭ
raḥīmunMost Merciful

(11)
Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful.

وَأَدْخِلْ
wa-adkhilAnd enter
يَدَكَ
yadakayour hand
فِى
into
جَيْبِكَ
jaybikayour bosom
تَخْرُجْ
takhrujit will come forth
بَيْضَآءَ
bayḍāawhite
مِنْ
minwithout
غَيْرِ
ghayriwithout
سُوٓءٍۢ ۖ
sūinharm
فِى
(These are) among
تِسْعِ
tis'ʿinine
ءَايَـٰتٍ
āyātinsigns
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawnaFiraun
وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ ۚ
waqawmihiand his people
إِنَّهُمْ
innahumIndeed, they
كَانُوا۟
kānūare
قَوْمًۭا
qawmana people
فَـٰسِقِينَ
fāsiqīnadefiantly disobedient
١٢
(12)
And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."

فَلَمَّا
falammāBut when
جَآءَتْهُمْ
jāathumcame to them
ءَايَـٰتُنَا
āyātunāOur Signs
مُبْصِرَةًۭ
mub'ṣiratanvisible
قَالُوا۟
qālūthey said
هَـٰذَا
hādhāThis
سِحْرٌۭ
siḥ'run(is) a magic
مُّبِينٌۭ
mubīnunmanifest
١٣
(13)
But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic."

وَجَحَدُوا۟
wajaḥadūAnd they rejected
بِهَا
bihāthem
وَٱسْتَيْقَنَتْهَآ
wa-is'tayqanathāthough were convinced with them (signs)
أَنفُسُهُمْ
anfusuhumthemselves
ظُلْمًۭا
ẓul'man(out of) injustice
وَعُلُوًّۭا ۚ
waʿuluwwanand haughtiness
فَٱنظُرْ
fa-unẓurSo see
كَيْفَ
kayfahow
كَانَ
kānawas
عَـٰقِبَةُ
ʿāqibatu(the) end
ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
l-muf'sidīna(of) the corrupters
١٤
(14)
And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters.

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd verily
ءَاتَيْنَا
ātaynāWe gave
دَاوُۥدَ
dāwūdaDawood
وَسُلَيْمَـٰنَ
wasulaymānaand Sulaiman
عِلْمًۭا ۖ
ʿil'manknowledge
وَقَالَا
waqālāand they said
ٱلْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamduPraise be
لِلَّهِ
lillahito Allah
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīthe One Who
فَضَّلَنَا
faḍḍalanāhas favored us
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāover
كَثِيرٍۢ
kathīrinmany
مِّنْ
minof
عِبَادِهِ
ʿibādihiHis servants
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīnathe believers
١٥
(15)
And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, "Praise [is due] to Allāh, who has favored us over many of His believing servants."

وَوَرِثَ
wawarithaAnd inherited
سُلَيْمَـٰنُ
sulaymānuSulaiman
دَاوُۥدَ ۖ
dāwūdaDawood
وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd he said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhāO
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsupeople
عُلِّمْنَا
ʿullim'nāWe have been taught
مَنطِقَ
manṭiqa(the) language
ٱلطَّيْرِ
l-ṭayri(of) the birds
وَأُوتِينَا
waūtīnāand we have been given
مِن
minfrom
كُلِّ
kullievery
شَىْءٍ ۖ
shayinthing
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
لَهُوَ
lahuwasurely, it
ٱلْفَضْلُ
l-faḍlu(is) the favor
ٱلْمُبِينُ
l-mubīnuevident
١٦
(16)
And Solomon inherited David. He said, "O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given from all things. Indeed, this is evident bounty."

وَحُشِرَ
waḥushiraAnd were gathered
لِسُلَيْمَـٰنَ
lisulaymānafor Sulaiman
جُنُودُهُۥ
junūduhuhis hosts
مِنَ
minaof
ٱلْجِنِّ
l-jinijinn
وَٱلْإِنسِ
wal-insiand the men
وَٱلطَّيْرِ
wal-ṭayriand the birds
فَهُمْ
fahumand they
يُوزَعُونَ
yūzaʿūna(were) set in rows
١٧
(17)
And gathered for Solomon were his soldiers of the jinn and men and birds, and they were [marching] in rows

حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattāUntil
إِذَآ
idhāwhen
أَتَوْا۟
atawthey came
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāto
وَادِ
wādi(the) valley
ٱلنَّمْلِ
l-namli(of) the ants
قَالَتْ
qālatsaid
نَمْلَةٌۭ
namlatunan ant
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhāO
ٱلنَّمْلُ
l-namluants
ٱدْخُلُوا۟
ud'khulūEnter
مَسَـٰكِنَكُمْ
masākinakumyour dwellings
لَا
lest not crush you
يَحْطِمَنَّكُمْ
yaḥṭimannakumlest not crush you
سُلَيْمَـٰنُ
sulaymānuSulaiman
وَجُنُودُهُۥ
wajunūduhuand his hosts
وَهُمْ
wahumwhile they
لَا
(do) not perceive
يَشْعُرُونَ
yashʿurūna(do) not perceive
١٨
(18)
Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, "O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not."

فَتَبَسَّمَ
fatabassamaSo he smiled
ضَاحِكًۭا
ḍāḥikanlaughing
مِّن
minat
قَوْلِهَا
qawlihāher speech
وَقَالَ
waqālaand said
رَبِّ
rabbiMy Lord
أَوْزِعْنِىٓ
awziʿ'nīGrant me (the) power
أَنْ
anthat
أَشْكُرَ
ashkuraI may thank You
نِعْمَتَكَ
niʿ'mataka(for) Your Favor
ٱلَّتِىٓ
allatīwhich
أَنْعَمْتَ
anʿamtaYou have bestowed
عَلَىَّ
ʿalayyaon me
وَعَلَىٰ
waʿalāand on
وَٰلِدَىَّ
wālidayyamy parents
وَأَنْ
wa-anand that
أَعْمَلَ
aʿmalaI may do
صَـٰلِحًۭا
ṣāliḥanrighteous (deeds)
تَرْضَىٰهُ
tarḍāhuthat will please You
وَأَدْخِلْنِى
wa-adkhil'nīAnd admit me
بِرَحْمَتِكَ
biraḥmatikaby Your Mercy
فِى
among
عِبَادِكَ
ʿibādikaYour slaves
ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
l-ṣāliḥīnarighteous
١٩
(19)
So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."

وَتَفَقَّدَ
watafaqqadaAnd he inspected
ٱلطَّيْرَ
l-ṭayrathe birds
فَقَالَ
faqālaand said
مَا
Why
لِىَ
liyaWhy
لَآ
not
أَرَى
arāI see
ٱلْهُدْهُدَ
l-hud'hudathe hoopoe
أَمْ
amor
كَانَ
kānais he
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلْغَآئِبِينَ
l-ghāibīnathe absent
٢٠
(20)
And he took attendance of the birds and said, "Why do I not see the hoopoe - or is he among the absent?

لَأُعَذِّبَنَّهُۥ
la-uʿadhibannahuI will surely punish him
عَذَابًۭا
ʿadhāban(with) a punishment
شَدِيدًا
shadīdansevere
أَوْ
awor
لَأَا۟ذْبَحَنَّهُۥٓ
laādh'baḥannahuI will surely slaughter him
أَوْ
awunless
لَيَأْتِيَنِّى
layatiyannīhe brings me
بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ
bisul'ṭānina reason
مُّبِينٍۢ
mubīninclear
٢١
(21)
I will surely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him unless he brings me clear authorization."

فَمَكَثَ
famakathaSo he stayed
غَيْرَ
ghayranot
بَعِيدٍۢ
baʿīdinlong
فَقَالَ
faqālaand he said
أَحَطتُ
aḥaṭtuI have encompassed
بِمَا
bimāthat which
لَمْ
lamnot
تُحِطْ
tuḥiṭyou have encompassed
بِهِۦ
bihiit
وَجِئْتُكَ
waji'tukaand I have come to you
مِن
minfrom
سَبَإٍۭ
saba-inSaba
بِنَبَإٍۢ
binaba-inwith news
يَقِينٍ
yaqīnincertain
٢٢
(22)
But he [i.e., the hoopoe] stayed not long and said, "I have encompassed [in knowledge] that which you have not encompassed, and I have come to you from Sheba with certain news.

إِنِّى
innīIndeed, I
وَجَدتُّ
wajadttufound
ٱمْرَأَةًۭ
im'ra-atana woman
تَمْلِكُهُمْ
tamlikuhumruling them
وَأُوتِيَتْ
waūtiyatand she has been given
مِن
minof
كُلِّ
kullievery
شَىْءٍۢ
shayinthing
وَلَهَا
walahāand for her
عَرْشٌ
ʿarshun(is) a throne
عَظِيمٌۭ
ʿaẓīmungreat
٢٣
(23)
Indeed, I found [there] a woman ruling them, and she has been given of all things, and she has a great throne.

وَجَدتُّهَا
wajadttuhāAnd I found her
وَقَوْمَهَا
waqawmahāand her people
يَسْجُدُونَ
yasjudūnaprostrating
لِلشَّمْسِ
lilshamsito the sun
مِن
mininstead of Allah
دُونِ
dūniinstead of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiinstead of Allah
وَزَيَّنَ
wazayyanaand has made fair-seeming
لَهُمُ
lahumuto them
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ
l-shayṭānuthe Shaitaan
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ
aʿmālahumtheir deeds
فَصَدَّهُمْ
faṣaddahumand averted them
عَنِ
ʿanifrom
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
l-sabīlithe Way
فَهُمْ
fahumso they
لَا
(are) not
يَهْتَدُونَ
yahtadūnaguided
٢٤
(24)
I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allāh, and Satan has made their deeds pleasing to them and averted them from [His] way, so they are not guided,

أَلَّا
allāThat not
يَسْجُدُوا۟
yasjudūthey prostrate
لِلَّهِ
lillahito Allah
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīthe One Who
يُخْرِجُ
yukh'rijubrings forth
ٱلْخَبْءَ
l-khaba-athe hidden
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍiand the earth
وَيَعْلَمُ
wayaʿlamuand knows
مَا
what
تُخْفُونَ
tukh'fūnayou conceal
وَمَا
wamāand what
تُعْلِنُونَ
tuʿ'linūnayou declare
٢٥
(25)
[And] so they do not prostrate to Allāh, who brings forth what is hidden within the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare -

ٱللَّهُ
al-lahuAllah
لَآ
(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَ
ilāhagod
إِلَّا
illābut
هُوَ
huwaHe
رَبُّ
rabbu(the) Lord
ٱلْعَرْشِ
l-ʿarshi(of) the Throne
ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۩‏
l-ʿaẓīmithe Great
٢٦
(26)
Allāh - there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Great Throne."

۞ قَالَ
qālaHe said
سَنَنظُرُ
sananẓuruWe will see
أَصَدَقْتَ
aṣadaqtawhether you speak (the) truth
أَمْ
amor
كُنتَ
kuntayou are
مِنَ
minaof
ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
l-kādhibīnathe liars
٢٧
(27)
[Solomon] said, "We will see whether you were truthful or were of the liars.

ٱذْهَب
idh'habGo
بِّكِتَـٰبِى
bikitābīwith my letter
هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
فَأَلْقِهْ
fa-alqihand deliver it
إِلَيْهِمْ
ilayhimto them
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
تَوَلَّ
tawallaturn away
عَنْهُمْ
ʿanhumfrom them
فَٱنظُرْ
fa-unẓurand see
مَاذَا
mādhāwhat
يَرْجِعُونَ
yarjiʿūnathey return
٢٨
(28)
Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Then leave them and see what [answer] they will return."

قَالَتْ
qālatShe said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhāO
ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟
l-mala-uchiefs
إِنِّىٓ
innīIndeed [I]
أُلْقِىَ
ul'qiyais delivered
إِلَىَّ
ilayyato me
كِتَـٰبٌۭ
kitābuna letter
كَرِيمٌ
karīmunnoble
٢٩
(29)
She said, "O eminent ones, indeed, to me has been delivered a noble letter.

إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, it
مِن
min(is) from
سُلَيْمَـٰنَ
sulaymānaSulaiman
وَإِنَّهُۥ
wa-innahuand indeed it (is)
بِسْمِ
bis'miIn the name
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ
l-raḥmānithe Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ
l-raḥīmithe Most Merciful
٣٠
(30)
Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed, it is [i.e., reads]: 'In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

allāThat not
تَعْلُوا۟
taʿlūexalt yourselves
عَلَىَّ
ʿalayyaagainst me
وَأْتُونِى
watūnībut come to me
مُسْلِمِينَ
mus'limīna(in) submission
٣١
(31)
Be not haughty with me but come to me in submission [as Muslims].'"

قَالَتْ
qālatShe said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhāO
ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟
l-mala-uchiefs
أَفْتُونِى
aftūnīAdvise me
فِىٓ
in
أَمْرِى
amrīmy affair
مَا
Not
كُنتُ
kuntuI would be
قَاطِعَةً
qāṭiʿatanthe one to decide
أَمْرًا
amranany matter
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattāuntil
تَشْهَدُونِ
tashhadūniyou are present with me
٣٢
(32)
She said, "O eminent ones, advise me in my affair. I would not decide a matter until you witness [for] me."

قَالُوا۟
qālūThey said
نَحْنُ
naḥnuWe
أُو۟لُوا۟
ulū(are) possessors
قُوَّةٍۢ
quwwatin(of) strength
وَأُو۟لُوا۟
wa-ulūand possessors
بَأْسٍۢ
basin(of) might
شَدِيدٍۢ
shadīdingreat
وَٱلْأَمْرُ
wal-amruand the command
إِلَيْكِ
ilayki(is) up to you
فَٱنظُرِى
fa-unẓurīso look
مَاذَا
mādhāwhat
تَأْمُرِينَ
tamurīnayou will command
٣٣
(33)
They said, "We are men of strength and of great military might, but the command is yours, so see what you will command."

قَالَتْ
qālatShe said
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلْمُلُوكَ
l-mulūkathe kings
إِذَا
idhāwhen
دَخَلُوا۟
dakhalūthey enter
قَرْيَةً
qaryatana town
أَفْسَدُوهَا
afsadūhāthey ruin it
وَجَعَلُوٓا۟
wajaʿalūand make
أَعِزَّةَ
aʿizzata(the) most honorable
أَهْلِهَآ
ahlihā(of) its people
أَذِلَّةًۭ ۖ
adhillatan(the) lowest
وَكَذَٰلِكَ

She said, "Indeed kings - when they enter a city, they ruin it and render the honored of its people humbled. And thus do they do.

إِلَيْهِم

بِهَدِيَّةٍۢ
bihadiyyatina gift
فَنَاظِرَةٌۢ
fanāẓiratunand see
بِمَ
bimawith what
يَرْجِعُ
yarjiʿureturn
ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
l-mur'salūnathe messengers
٣٥
(35)
But indeed, I will send to them a gift and see with what [reply] the messengers will return."

فَلَمَّا
falammāSo when
جَآءَ
jāacame
سُلَيْمَـٰنَ
sulaymāna(to) Sulaiman
قَالَ
qālahe said
أَتُمِدُّونَنِ
atumiddūnaniWill you provide me
بِمَالٍۢ
bimālinwith wealth
فَمَآ
famāBut what
ءَاتَىٰنِۦَ
ātāniyaAllah has given me
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah has given me
خَيْرٌۭ
khayrun(is) better
مِّمَّآ
mimmāthan what
ءَاتَىٰكُم
ātākumHe has given you
بَلْ
balNay
أَنتُم
antumyou
بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ
bihadiyyatikumin your gift
تَفْرَحُونَ
tafraḥūnarejoice
٣٦
(36)
So when they came to Solomon, he said, "Do you provide me with wealth? But what Allāh has given me is better than what He has given you. Rather, it is you who rejoice in your gift.

ٱرْجِعْ
ir'jiʿReturn
إِلَيْهِمْ
ilayhimto them
فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّهُم
falanatiyannahumsurely, we will come to them
بِجُنُودٍۢ
bijunūdinwith hosts
لَّا
not
قِبَلَ
qibala(is) resistance
لَهُم
lahumfor them
بِهَا
bihāof it
وَلَنُخْرِجَنَّهُم
walanukh'rijannahumand surely, we will drive them out
مِّنْهَآ
min'hāfrom there
أَذِلَّةًۭ
adhillatan(in) humiliation
وَهُمْ
wahumand they
صَـٰغِرُونَ
ṣāghirūna(will be) abased
٣٧
(37)
Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers that they will be powerless to encounter, and we will surely expel them therefrom in humiliation, and they will be debased."

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا

ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟
l-mala-uchiefs
أَيُّكُمْ
ayyukumWhich of you
يَأْتِينِى

بِعَرْشِهَا
biʿarshihāher throne
قَبْلَ
qablabefore
أَن
anthat
يَأْتُونِى
yatūnīthey come to me
مُسْلِمِينَ
mus'limīna(in) submission
٣٨
(38)
[Solomon] said, "O assembly [of jinn], which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?"

ʿif'rītuna strong one
مِّنَ

ٱلْجِنِّ
l-jinithe jinn
أَنَا۠

ءَاتِيكَ

بِهِۦ
bihiwill bring it to you
قَبْلَ
qablabefore
أَن
an[that]
تَقُومَ
taqūmayou rise
مِن
minfrom
مَّقَامِكَ ۖ
maqāmikayour place
وَإِنِّى
wa-innīAnd indeed, I am
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhifor it
لَقَوِىٌّ
laqawiyyunsurely, strong
أَمِينٌۭ
amīnuntrustworthy
٣٩
(39)
A powerful one from among the jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy."

أَنَا۠

ءَاتِيكَ
ātīkawill bring it to you
بِهِۦ
bihiwill bring it to you
قَبْلَ
qablabefore
أَن
an[that]
يَرْتَدَّ
yartaddareturns
إِلَيْكَ
ilaykato you
طَرْفُكَ ۚ
ṭarfukayour glance
فَلَمَّا
falammāThen when
رَءَاهُ
raāhuhe saw it
مُسْتَقِرًّا
mus'taqirranplaced
عِندَهُۥ
ʿindahubefore him
قَالَ
qālahe said
هَـٰذَا
hādhāThis
مِن
min(is) from
فَضْلِ
faḍli(the) Favor
رَبِّى
rabbī(of) my Lord
لِيَبْلُوَنِىٓ
liyabluwanīto test me
ءَأَشْكُرُ
a-ashkuruwhether I am grateful
أَمْ
amor
أَكْفُرُ ۖ
akfuruI am ungrateful
وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
شَكَرَ
shakara(is) grateful
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamāthen only
يَشْكُرُ
yashkuruhe is grateful
لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ
linafsihifor his own soul
وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
كَفَرَ
kafara(is) ungrateful
فَإِنَّ
fa-innathen indeed
رَبِّى
rabbīmy Lord
غَنِىٌّۭ
ghaniyyun(is) Self-sufficient
كَرِيمٌۭ
karīmunNoble
٤٠
(40)
Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you." And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful - his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful - then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous."

لَهَا

عَرْشَهَا
ʿarshahāher throne
نَنظُرْ
nanẓurwe will see
أَتَهْتَدِىٓ
atahtadīwhether she will be guided
أَمْ
amor
تَكُونُ
takūnuwill be
مِنَ
minaof
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
لَا
are not guided
يَهْتَدُونَ
yahtadūnaare not guided
٤١
(41)
He said, "Disguise for her her throne; we will see whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided."

فَلَمَّا
falammāSo when
جَآءَتْ
jāatshe came
قِيلَ
qīlait was said
أَهَـٰكَذَا
ahākadhāIs like this
عَرْشُكِ ۖ
ʿarshukiyour throne
قَالَتْ
qālatShe said
كَأَنَّهُۥ
ka-annahuIt is like
هُوَ ۚ
huwait
وَأُوتِينَا
waūtīnāAnd we were given
ٱلْعِلْمَ
l-ʿil'mathe knowledge
مِن
minbefore her
قَبْلِهَا
qablihābefore her
وَكُنَّا
wakunnāand we have been
مُسْلِمِينَ
mus'limīnaMuslims
٤٢
(42)
So when she arrived, it was said [to her], "Is your throne like this?" She said, "[It is] as though it was it." [Solomon said], "And we were given knowledge before her, and we have been Muslims [in submission to Allāh].

وَصَدَّهَا
waṣaddahāAnd has averted her
مَا
what
كَانَت
kānatshe used (to)
تَّعْبُدُ
taʿbuduworship
مِن
minbesides
دُونِ
dūnibesides
ٱللَّهِ ۖ
l-lahiAllah
إِنَّهَا
innahāIndeed, she
كَانَتْ
kānatwas
مِن
minfrom
قَوْمٍۢ
qawmina people
كَـٰفِرِينَ
kāfirīnawho disbelieve
٤٣
(43)
And that which she was worshipping other than Allāh had averted her [from submission to Him]. Indeed, she was from a disbelieving people."

qīlaIt was said
لَهَا

ٱدْخُلِى
ud'khulīEnter
ٱلصَّرْحَ ۖ
l-ṣarḥathe palace
فَلَمَّا
falammāThen when
رَأَتْهُ
ra-athushe saw it
حَسِبَتْهُ
ḥasibathushe thought it
لُجَّةًۭ
lujjatan(was) a pool
وَكَشَفَتْ
wakashafatand she uncovered
عَن
ʿan[on]
سَاقَيْهَا ۚ
sāqayhāher shins
قَالَ
qālaHe said
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, it
صَرْحٌۭ
ṣarḥun(is) a palace
مُّمَرَّدٌۭ
mumarradunmade smooth
مِّن
minof
قَوَارِيرَ ۗ
qawārīraglass
قَالَتْ
qālatShe said
رَبِّ
rabbiMy Lord
إِنِّى
innīindeed, I
ظَلَمْتُ
ẓalamtu[I] have wronged
نَفْسِى
nafsīmyself
وَأَسْلَمْتُ
wa-aslamtuand I submit
مَعَ
maʿawith
سُلَيْمَـٰنَ
sulaymānaSulaiman
لِلَّهِ
lillahito Allah
رَبِّ
rabbi(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
٤٤
(44)
She was told, "Enter the palace." But when she saw it, she thought it was a body of water and uncovered her shins [to wade through]. He said, "Indeed, it is a palace [whose floor is] made smooth with glass." She said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allāh, Lord of the worlds."

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd certainly
أَرْسَلْنَآ
arsalnāWe sent
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
ثَمُودَ
thamūdaThamud
أَخَاهُمْ
akhāhumtheir brother
صَـٰلِحًا
ṣāliḥanSalih
أَنِ
anithat
ٱعْبُدُوا۟
uʿ'budūWorship
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
فَإِذَا
fa-idhāThen behold
هُمْ
humThey
فَرِيقَانِ
farīqāni(became) two parties
يَخْتَصِمُونَ
yakhtaṣimūnaquarreling
٤٥
(45)
And We had certainly sent to Thamūd their brother Ṣāliḥ, [saying], "Worship Allāh," and at once they were two parties conflicting.

قَالَ
qālaHe said
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmiO my people
لِمَ
limaWhy
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
tastaʿjilūna(do) you seek to hasten
بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ
bil-sayi-atithe evil
قَبْلَ
qablabefore
ٱلْحَسَنَةِ ۖ
l-ḥasanatithe good
لَوْلَا
lawlāWhy not
تَسْتَغْفِرُونَ
tastaghfirūnayou ask forgiveness
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha(of) Allah
لَعَلَّكُمْ
laʿallakumso that you may
تُرْحَمُونَ
tur'ḥamūnareceive mercy
٤٦
(46)
He said, "O my people, why are you impatient for evil before [i.e., instead of] good? Why do you not seek forgiveness of Allāh that you may receive mercy?"

qālūThey said
ٱطَّيَّرْنَا
iṭṭayyarnāWe consider you a bad omen
بِكَ
bikaWe consider you a bad omen
وَبِمَن
wabimanand those
مَّعَكَ ۚ
maʿakawith you
قَالَ
qālaHe said
طَـٰٓئِرُكُمْ
ṭāirukumYour bad omen
عِندَ
ʿinda(is) with
ٱللَّهِ ۖ
l-lahiAllah
بَلْ
balNay
أَنتُمْ
antumyou
قَوْمٌۭ
qawmun(are) a people
تُفْتَنُونَ
tuf'tanūnabeing tested
٤٧
(47)
They said, "We consider you a bad omen, you and those with you." He said, "Your omen [i.e., fate] is with Allāh. Rather, you are a people being tested."

وَكَانَ
wakānaAnd were
فِى
in
ٱلْمَدِينَةِ
l-madīnatithe city
تِسْعَةُ
tis'ʿatunine
رَهْطٍۢ
rahṭinfamily heads
يُفْسِدُونَ
yuf'sidūnathey were spreading corruption
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe land
وَلَا
walāand not
يُصْلِحُونَ
yuṣ'liḥūnareforming
٤٨
(48)
And there were in the city nine family heads causing corruption in the land and not amending [its affairs].

قَالُوا۟
qālūThey said
تَقَاسَمُوا۟
taqāsamūSwear to each other
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahiby Allah
لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُۥ
lanubayyitannahusurely, we will attack him by night
وَأَهْلَهُۥ
wa-ahlahuand his family
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
لَنَقُولَنَّ
lanaqūlannawe will surely say
لِوَلِيِّهِۦ
liwaliyyihito his heir
مَا
Not
شَهِدْنَا
shahid'nāwe witnessed
مَهْلِكَ
mahlika(the) destruction
أَهْلِهِۦ
ahlihi(of) his family
وَإِنَّا
wa-innāand indeed, we
لَصَـٰدِقُونَ
laṣādiqūna(are) surely truthful
٤٩
(49)
They said, "Take a mutual oath by Allāh that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will say to his executor, 'We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.'"

وَمَكَرُوا۟
wamakarūSo they plotted
مَكْرًۭا
makrana plot
وَمَكَرْنَا
wamakarnāand We planned
مَكْرًۭا
makrana plan
وَهُمْ
wahumwhile they
لَا
(did) not
يَشْعُرُونَ
yashʿurūnaperceive
٥٠
(50)
And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not.

فَٱنظُرْ
fa-unẓurThen see
كَيْفَ
kayfahow
كَانَ
kānawas
عَـٰقِبَةُ
ʿāqibatu(the) end
مَكْرِهِمْ
makrihim(of) their plot
أَنَّا
annāthat We
دَمَّرْنَـٰهُمْ
dammarnāhumdestroyed them
وَقَوْمَهُمْ
waqawmahumand their people
أَجْمَعِينَ
ajmaʿīnaall
٥١
(51)
Then look how was the outcome of their plan - that We destroyed them and their people, all.

فَتِلْكَ
fatil'kaSo, these
بُيُوتُهُمْ
buyūtuhum(are) their houses
خَاوِيَةًۢ
khāwiyatanruined
بِمَا
bimābecause
ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۗ
ẓalamūthey wronged
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
لَـَٔايَةًۭ
laāyatansurely, is a sign
لِّقَوْمٍۢ
liqawminfor a people
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūnawho know
٥٢
(52)
So those are their houses, desolate because of the wrong they had done. Indeed in that is a sign for people who know.

وَأَنجَيْنَا
wa-anjaynāAnd We saved
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieved
وَكَانُوا۟
wakānūand used (to)
يَتَّقُونَ
yattaqūnafear (Allah)
٥٣
(53)
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allāh.

وَلُوطًا
walūṭanAnd Lut
إِذْ
idhwhen
قَالَ
qālahe said
لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ
liqawmihito his people
أَتَأْتُونَ
atatūnaDo you commit
ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ
l-fāḥishata[the] immorality
وَأَنتُمْ
wa-antumwhile you
تُبْصِرُونَ
tub'ṣirūnasee
٥٤
(54)
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit immorality while you are seeing?

أَئِنَّكُمْ
a-innakumWhy do you
لَتَأْتُونَ
latatūnaapproach
ٱلرِّجَالَ
l-rijālathe men
شَهْوَةًۭ
shahwatan(with) lust
مِّن
mininstead of
دُونِ
dūniinstead of
ٱلنِّسَآءِ ۚ
l-nisāithe women
بَلْ
balNay
أَنتُمْ
antumyou
قَوْمٌۭ
qawmun(are) a people
تَجْهَلُونَ
tajhalūnaignorant
٥٥
(55)
Do you indeed approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly."

۞ فَمَا
famāBut not
كَانَ
kānawas
جَوَابَ
jawāba(the) answer
قَوْمِهِۦٓ
qawmihi(of) his people
إِلَّآ
illāexcept
أَن
anthat
قَالُوٓا۟
qālūthey said
أَخْرِجُوٓا۟
akhrijūDrive out
ءَالَ
āla(the) family
لُوطٍۢ
lūṭin(of) Lut
مِّن
minfrom
قَرْيَتِكُمْ ۖ
qaryatikumyour town
إِنَّهُمْ
innahumIndeed, they
أُنَاسٌۭ
unāsun(are) people
يَتَطَهَّرُونَ
yataṭahharūnawho keep clean and pure
٥٦
(56)
But the answer of his people was not except that they said, "Expel the family of Lot from your city. Indeed, they are people who keep themselves pure."

فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ
fa-anjaynāhuSo We saved him
وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ
wa-ahlahuand his family
إِلَّا
illāexcept
ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ
im'ra-atahuhis wife
قَدَّرْنَـٰهَا
qaddarnāhāWe destined her
مِنَ
mina(to be) of
ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
l-ghābirīnathose who remained behind
٥٧
(57)
So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; We destined her to be of those who remained behind.

وَأَمْطَرْنَا
wa-amṭarnāAnd We rained
عَلَيْهِم
ʿalayhimupon them
مَّطَرًۭا ۖ
maṭarana rain
فَسَآءَ
fasāaand was evil
مَطَرُ
maṭaru(the) rain
ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
l-mundharīna(on) those who were warned
٥٨
(58)
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.

قُلِ
quliSay
ٱلْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamduAll praise (be)
لِلَّهِ
lillahito Allah
وَسَلَـٰمٌ
wasalāmunand peace (be)
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāupon
عِبَادِهِ
ʿibādihiHis slaves
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose whom
ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ۗ
iṣ'ṭafāHe has chosen
ءَآللَّهُ
āllahuIs Allah
خَيْرٌ
khayrunbetter
أَمَّا
ammāor what
يُشْرِكُونَ
yush'rikūnathey associate (with Him)
٥٩
(59)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Praise be to Allāh, and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allāh better or what they associate with Him?"

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍaand the earth
وَأَنزَلَ

لَكُم
lakumfor you
مِّنَ
minafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāithe sky
مَآءًۭ
māanwater
فَأَنۢبَتْنَا
fa-anbatnāAnd We caused to grow
بِهِۦ
bihithereby
حَدَآئِقَ
ḥadāiqagardens
ذَاتَ
dhātaof beauty (and delight)
بَهْجَةٍۢ
bahjatinof beauty (and delight)
مَّا
not
كَانَ
kānait is
لَكُمْ
lakumfor you
أَن
anthat
تُنۢبِتُوا۟
tunbitūyou cause to grow
شَجَرَهَآ ۗ
shajarahātheir trees
أَءِلَـٰهٌۭ
a-ilāhunIs there any god
مَّعَ
maʿawith
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahiAllah
بَلْ
balNay
هُمْ
humthey
قَوْمٌۭ
qawmun(are) a people
يَعْدِلُونَ
yaʿdilūnawho ascribe equals
٦٠
(60)
[More precisely], is He [not best] who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you rain from the sky, causing to grow thereby gardens of joyful beauty which you could not [otherwise] have grown the trees thereof? Is there a deity with Allāh? [No], but they are a people who ascribe equals [to Him].

قَرَارًۭا
qarārana firm abode
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʿalaand made
خِلَـٰلَهَآ
khilālahā(in) its midst
أَنْهَـٰرًۭا
anhāranrivers
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʿalaand made
لَهَا
lahāfor it
رَوَٰسِىَ
rawāsiyafirm mountains
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʿalaand made
بَيْنَ
baynabetween
ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ
l-baḥraynithe two seas
حَاجِزًا ۗ
ḥājizana barrier
أَءِلَـٰهٌۭ
a-ilāhunIs there any god
مَّعَ
maʿawith
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahiAllah
بَلْ
balNay
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
aktharuhummost of them
لَا
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūnaknow
٦١
(61)
Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allāh? [No], but most of them do not know.

ٱلْمُضْطَرَّ
l-muḍ'ṭara(to) the distressed one
إِذَا
idhāwhen
دَعَاهُ
daʿāhuhe calls Him
وَيَكْشِفُ
wayakshifuand He removes
ٱلسُّوٓءَ
l-sūathe evil
وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ
wayajʿalukumand makes you
خُلَفَآءَ
khulafāainheritors
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ
l-arḍi(of) the earth
أَءِلَـٰهٌۭ
a-ilāhunIs there any god
مَّعَ
maʿawith
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahiAllah
قَلِيلًۭا
qalīlanLittle
مَّا
(is) what
تَذَكَّرُونَ
tadhakkarūnayou remember
٦٢
(62)
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allāh? Little do you remember.

ظُلُمَـٰتِ
ẓulumāti(the) darkness[es]
ٱلْبَرِّ
l-bari(of) the land
وَٱلْبَحْرِ
wal-baḥriand the sea
وَمَن
wamanand Who
يُرْسِلُ
yur'silusends
ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ
l-riyāḥathe winds
بُشْرًۢا
bush'ran(as) glad tidings
بَيْنَ
baynabefore
يَدَىْ
yadaybefore
رَحْمَتِهِۦٓ ۗ
raḥmatihiHis Mercy
أَءِلَـٰهٌۭ

مَّعَ
maʿawith
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahiAllah
تَعَـٰلَى
taʿālāHigh is
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah
عَمَّا
ʿammāabove what
يُشْرِكُونَ
yush'rikūnathey associate (with Him)
٦٣
(63)
Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allāh? High is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.

ammanOr Who
يَبْدَؤُا۟
yabda-uoriginates
ٱلْخَلْقَ
l-khalqathe creation
ثُمَّ
thummathen
يُعِيدُهُۥ
yuʿīduhurepeats it
وَمَن
wamanand Who
يَرْزُقُكُم
yarzuqukumprovides you
مِّنَ
minafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ
wal-arḍiand the earth
أَءِلَـٰهٌۭ
a-ilāhunIs there any god
مَّعَ
maʿawith
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahiAllah
قُلْ
qulSay
هَاتُوا۟
hātūBring forth
بُرْهَـٰنَكُمْ
bur'hānakumyour proof
إِن
inif
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
ṣādiqīnatruthful
٦٤
(64)
Is He [not best] who begins creation and then repeats it and who provides for you from the heaven and earth? Is there a deity with Allāh? Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."

قُل
qulSay
لَّا
No (one)
يَعْلَمُ
yaʿlamuknows
مَن
manwhoever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍiand the earth
ٱلْغَيْبَ
l-ghayba(of) the unseen
إِلَّا
illāexcept
ٱللَّهُ ۚ
l-lahuAllah
وَمَا
wamāand not
يَشْعُرُونَ
yashʿurūnathey perceive
أَيَّانَ
ayyānawhen
يُبْعَثُونَ
yub'ʿathūnathey will be resurrected
٦٥
(65)
Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allāh, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected."

بَلِ
baliNay
ٱدَّٰرَكَ
iddārakais arrested
عِلْمُهُمْ
ʿil'muhumtheir knowledge
فِى
of
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚ
l-ākhiratithe Hereafter
بَلْ
balNay
هُمْ
humthey
فِى
(are) in
شَكٍّۢ
shakkindoubt
مِّنْهَا ۖ
min'hāabout it
بَلْ
balNay
هُم
humthey
مِّنْهَا
min'hāabout it
عَمُونَ
ʿamūna(are) blind
٦٦
(66)
Rather, their knowledge is arrested concerning the Hereafter. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are, concerning it, blind.

وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd say
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوٓا۟
kafarūdisbelieve
أَءِذَا
a-idhāWhat, when
كُنَّا
kunnāwe have become
تُرَٰبًۭا
turābandust
وَءَابَآؤُنَآ
waābāunāand our forefathers
أَئِنَّا
a-innāwill we
لَمُخْرَجُونَ
lamukh'rajūnasurely be brought out
٦٧
(67)
And those who disbelieve say, "When we have become dust as well as our forefathers, will we indeed be brought out [of the graves]?

لَقَدْ
laqadCertainly
وُعِدْنَا
wuʿid'nāwe have been promised
هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
نَحْنُ
naḥnuwe
وَءَابَآؤُنَا
waābāunāand our forefathers
مِن
minbefore
قَبْلُ
qablubefore
إِنْ
inNot
هَـٰذَآ
hādhā(is) this
إِلَّآ
illāexcept
أَسَـٰطِيرُ
asāṭīrutales
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
l-awalīna(of) the former (people)
٦٨
(68)
We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is not but legends of the former peoples."

قُلْ
qulSay
سِيرُوا۟
sīrūTravel
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe land
فَٱنظُرُوا۟
fa-unẓurūand see
كَيْفَ
kayfahow
كَانَ
kānawas
عَـٰقِبَةُ
ʿāqibatu(the) end
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
l-muj'rimīna(of) the criminals
٦٩
(69)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Proceed [i.e., travel] through the land and observe how was the end of the criminals."

وَلَا
walāAnd (do) not
تَحْزَنْ
taḥzangrieve
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhimover them
وَلَا
walāand not
تَكُن
takunbe
فِى
in
ضَيْقٍۢ
ḍayqindistress
مِّمَّا
mimmāfrom what
يَمْكُرُونَ
yamkurūnathey plot
٧٠
(70)
And grieve not over them or be in distress from what they conspire.

وَيَقُولُونَ
wayaqūlūnaAnd they say
مَتَىٰ
matāWhen
هَـٰذَا
hādhā(will) this
ٱلْوَعْدُ
l-waʿdupromise (be fulfilled)
إِن
inif
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
ṣādiqīnatruthful
٧١
(71)
And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?"

قُلْ
qulSay
عَسَىٰٓ
ʿasāPerhaps
أَن
anthat
يَكُونَ
yakūnais
رَدِفَ
radifaclose behind
لَكُم
lakumyou
بَعْضُ
baʿḍusome
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(of) that which
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
tastaʿjilūnayou seek to hasten
٧٢
(72)
Say, "Perhaps it is close behind you [i.e., very near] - some of that for which you are impatient.

وَإِنَّ
wa-innaAnd indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbakayour Lord
لَذُو
ladhū(is) full of Bounty
فَضْلٍ
faḍlin(is) full of Bounty
عَلَى
ʿalāfor
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsithe mankind
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
walākinnabut
أَكْثَرَهُمْ
aktharahummost of them
لَا
(are) not
يَشْكُرُونَ
yashkurūnagrateful
٧٣
(73)
And indeed, your Lord is the possessor of bounty for the people, but most of them are not grateful."

وَإِنَّ
wa-innaAnd indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbakayour Lord
لَيَعْلَمُ
layaʿlamusurely knows
مَا
what
تُكِنُّ
tukinnuconceals
صُدُورُهُمْ
ṣudūruhumtheir breasts
وَمَا
wamāand what
يُعْلِنُونَ
yuʿ'linūnathey declare
٧٤
(74)
And indeed, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare.

وَمَا
wamāAnd not (is)
مِنْ
minany (thing)
غَآئِبَةٍۢ
ghāibatinhidden
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍiand the earth
إِلَّا
illābut
فِى
(is) in
كِتَـٰبٍۢ
kitābina Record
مُّبِينٍ
mubīninclear
٧٥
(75)
And there is nothing concealed within the heaven and the earth except that it is in a clear Register.

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
هَـٰذَا
hādhāthis
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
l-qur'āna[the] Quran
يَقُصُّ
yaquṣṣurelates
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāto
بَنِىٓ
banī(the) Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla(of) Israel
أَكْثَرَ
aktharamost
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(of) that
هُمْ
humthey
فِيهِ
fīhiin it
يَخْتَلِفُونَ
yakhtalifūnadiffer
٧٦
(76)
Indeed, this Qur’ān relates to the Children of Israel most of that over which they disagree.

وَإِنَّهُۥ
wa-innahuAnd indeed, it
لَهُدًۭى
lahudan(is) surely a guidance
وَرَحْمَةٌۭ
waraḥmatunand a mercy
لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
lil'mu'minīnafor the believers
٧٧
(77)
And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers.

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbakayour Lord
يَقْضِى
yaqḍīwill judge
بَيْنَهُم
baynahumbetween them
بِحُكْمِهِۦ ۚ
biḥuk'mihiby His Judgment
وَهُوَ
wahuwaand He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
l-ʿalīmuthe All-Knower
٧٨
(78)
Indeed, your Lord will judge between them by His [wise] judgement. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.

فَتَوَكَّلْ
fatawakkalSo put your trust
عَلَى
ʿalāin
ٱللَّهِ ۖ
l-lahiAllah
إِنَّكَ
innakaindeed, you
عَلَى
ʿalā(are) on
ٱلْحَقِّ
l-ḥaqithe truth
ٱلْمُبِينِ
l-mubīnimanifest
٧٩
(79)
So rely upon Allāh; indeed, you are upon the clear truth.

إِنَّكَ
innakaIndeed, you
لَا
(can) not
تُسْمِعُ
tus'miʿucause to hear
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
l-mawtāthe dead
وَلَا
walāand not
تُسْمِعُ
tus'miʿucan you cause to hear
ٱلصُّمَّ
l-ṣumathe deaf
ٱلدُّعَآءَ
l-duʿāathe call
إِذَا
idhāwhen
وَلَّوْا۟
wallawthey turn back
مُدْبِرِينَ
mud'birīnaretreating
٨٠
(80)
Indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned their backs retreating.

وَمَآ
wamāAnd not
أَنتَ
anta(can) you
بِهَـٰدِى
bihādīguide
ٱلْعُمْىِ
l-ʿum'yithe blind
عَن
ʿanfrom
ضَلَـٰلَتِهِمْ ۖ
ḍalālatihimtheir error
إِن
inNot
تُسْمِعُ
tus'miʿuyou can cause to hear
إِلَّا
illāexcept
مَن
man(those) who
يُؤْمِنُ
yu'minubelieve
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
biāyātināin Our Signs
فَهُم
fahumso they
مُّسْلِمُونَ
mus'limūna(are) Muslims
٨١
(81)
And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. You will only make hear those who believe in Our verses so they are Muslims [i.e., submitting to Allāh].

۞ وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
وَقَعَ
waqaʿa(is) fulfilled
ٱلْقَوْلُ
l-qawluthe word
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhimagainst them
أَخْرَجْنَا
akhrajnāWe will bring forth
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
دَآبَّةًۭ
dābbatana creature
مِّنَ
minafrom
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
تُكَلِّمُهُمْ
tukallimuhumspeaking to them
أَنَّ
annathat
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsathe people
كَانُوا۟
kānūwere
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
biāyātināof Our Signs
لَا
not
يُوقِنُونَ
yūqinūnacertain
٨٢
(82)
And when the word [i.e., decree] befalls them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, [saying] that the people were, of Our verses, not certain [in faith].

وَيَوْمَ
wayawmaAnd (the) Day
نَحْشُرُ
naḥshuruWe will gather
مِن
minfrom
كُلِّ
kullievery
أُمَّةٍۢ
ummatinnation
فَوْجًۭا
fawjana troop
مِّمَّن
mimmanof (those) who
يُكَذِّبُ
yukadhibudeny
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
biāyātināOur Signs
فَهُمْ
fahumand they
يُوزَعُونَ
yūzaʿūnawill be set in rows
٨٣
(83)
And [warn of] the Day when We will gather from every nation a company of those who deny Our signs, and they will be [driven] in rows

حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattāUntil
إِذَا
idhāwhen
جَآءُو
jāūthey come
قَالَ
qālaHe will say
أَكَذَّبْتُم
akadhabtumDid you deny
بِـَٔايَـٰتِى
biāyātīMy Signs
وَلَمْ
walamwhile not
تُحِيطُوا۟
tuḥīṭūyou encompassed
بِهَا
bihāthem
عِلْمًا
ʿil'man(in) knowledge
أَمَّاذَا
ammādhāor what
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūnado
٨٤
(84)
Until, when they arrive [at the place of Judgement], He will say, "Did you deny My signs while you encompassed them not in knowledge, or what [was it that] you were doing?"

وَوَقَعَ
wawaqaʿaAnd (will be) fulfilled
ٱلْقَوْلُ
l-qawluthe word
عَلَيْهِم
ʿalayhimagainst them
بِمَا
bimābecause
ظَلَمُوا۟
ẓalamūthey wronged
فَهُمْ
fahumand they
لَا
(will) not
يَنطِقُونَ
yanṭiqūnaspeak
٨٥
(85)
And the decree will befall them for the wrong they did, and they will not [be able to] speak.

أَلَمْ
alamDo not
يَرَوْا۟
yarawthey see
أَنَّا
annāthat We
جَعَلْنَا
jaʿalnā[We] have made
ٱلَّيْلَ
al-laylathe night
لِيَسْكُنُوا۟
liyaskunūthat they may rest
فِيهِ
fīhiin it
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
wal-nahāraand the day
مُبْصِرًا ۚ
mub'ṣirangiving visibility
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ
laāyātinsurely (are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢ
liqawminfor a people
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūnawho believe
٨٦
(86)
Do they not see that We made the night that they may rest therein and the day giving sight? Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.

وَيَوْمَ
wayawmaAnd (the) Day
يُنفَخُ
yunfakhuwill be blown
فِى
[in]
ٱلصُّورِ
l-ṣūrithe trumpet
فَفَزِعَ
fafaziʿaand will be terrified
مَن
manwhoever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَمَن
wamanand whoever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
إِلَّا
illāexcept
مَن
manwhom
شَآءَ
shāaAllah wills
ٱللَّهُ ۚ
l-lahuAllah wills
وَكُلٌّ
wakullunAnd all
أَتَوْهُ
atawhu(will) come to Him
دَٰخِرِينَ
dākhirīnahumbled
٨٧
(87)
And [warn of] the Day the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified except whom Allāh wills. And all will come to Him humbled.

وَتَرَى
watarāAnd you see
ٱلْجِبَالَ
l-jibālathe mountains
تَحْسَبُهَا
taḥsabuhāthinking them
جَامِدَةًۭ
jāmidatanfirmly fixed
وَهِىَ
wahiyawhile they
تَمُرُّ
tamurruwill pass
مَرَّ
marra(as the) passing
ٱلسَّحَابِ ۚ
l-saḥābi(of) the clouds
صُنْعَ
ṣun'ʿa(The) Work
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhīWho
أَتْقَنَ
atqanaperfected
كُلَّ
kullaall
شَىْءٍ ۚ
shayinthings
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, He
خَبِيرٌۢ
khabīrun(is) All-Aware
بِمَا
bimāof what
تَفْعَلُونَ
tafʿalūnayou do
٨٨
(88)
And you see the mountains, thinking them motionless, while they will pass as the passing of clouds. [It is] the work of Allāh, who perfected all things. Indeed, He is Aware of that which you do.

مَن
manWhoever
جَآءَ
jāacomes
بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ
bil-ḥasanatiwith the good
فَلَهُۥ
falahuthen for him
خَيْرٌۭ
khayrun(will be) better
مِّنْهَا
min'hāthan it
وَهُم
wahumand they
مِّن
minfrom
فَزَعٍۢ
fazaʿin(the) terror
يَوْمَئِذٍ
yawma-idhin(of) that Day
ءَامِنُونَ
āminūna(will be) safe
٨٩
(89)
Whoever comes [at Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it, and they, from the terror of that Day, will be safe.

وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
جَآءَ
jāacomes
بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ
bil-sayi-atiwith the evil
فَكُبَّتْ
fakubbatwill be cast down
وُجُوهُهُمْ
wujūhuhumtheir faces
فِى
in
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nārithe Fire
هَلْ
halAre
تُجْزَوْنَ
tuj'zawnayou recompensed
إِلَّا
illāexcept
مَا
(for) what
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūnado
٩٠
(90)
And whoever comes with an evil deed - their faces will be overturned into the Fire, [and it will be said], "Are you recompensed except for what you used to do?"

إِنَّمَآ
innamāOnly
أُمِرْتُ
umir'tuI am commanded
أَنْ
anthat
أَعْبُدَ
aʿbudaI worship
رَبَّ
rabba(the) Lord
هَـٰذِهِ
hādhihi(of) this
ٱلْبَلْدَةِ
l-baldaticity
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīthe One Who
حَرَّمَهَا
ḥarramahāmade it sacred
وَلَهُۥ
walahuand to Him (belongs)
كُلُّ
kulluall
شَىْءٍۢ ۖ
shayinthings
وَأُمِرْتُ
wa-umir'tuAnd I am commanded
أَنْ
anthat
أَكُونَ
akūnaI be
مِنَ
minaof
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
l-mus'limīnathe Muslims
٩١
(91)
[Say, O Muḥammad], "I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred and to whom [belongs] all things. And I am commanded to be of the Muslims [i.e., those who submit to Allāh]

وَأَنْ
wa-anAnd that
أَتْلُوَا۟
atluwāI recite
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ ۖ
l-qur'ānathe Quran
فَمَنِ
famaniAnd whoever
ٱهْتَدَىٰ
ih'tadāaccepts guidance
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamāthen only
يَهْتَدِى
yahtadīhe accepts guidance
لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ
linafsihifor himself
وَمَن
wamanand whoever
ضَلَّ
ḍallagoes astray
فَقُلْ
faqulthen say
إِنَّمَآ
innamāOnly
أَنَا۠
anāI am
مِنَ
minaof
ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
l-mundhirīnathe warners
٩٢
(92)
And to recite the Qur’ān." And whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] himself; and whoever strays - say, "I am only [one] of the warners."

وَقُلِ
waquliAnd say
ٱلْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamduAll praise (be)
لِلَّهِ
lillahito Allah
سَيُرِيكُمْ
sayurīkumHe will show you
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ
āyātihiHis Signs
فَتَعْرِفُونَهَا ۚ
fataʿrifūnahāand you will recognize them
وَمَا
wamāAnd your Lord is not
رَبُّكَ
rabbukaAnd your Lord is not
بِغَـٰفِلٍ
bighāfilinunaware
عَمَّا
ʿammāof what
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūnayou do
٩٣
(93)
And say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allāh. He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do."
