تِلْكَ
til'kaThese
ءَايَـٰتُ
āyātu(are) Verses
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābi(of) the Book
ٱلْحَكِيمِ
l-ḥakīmithe Wise
٢
(2)
These are verses of the wise Book,
Juz 21Page 411
3
هُدًۭى
hudanA guidance
وَرَحْمَةًۭ
waraḥmatanand a mercy
لِّلْمُحْسِنِينَ
lil'muḥ'sinīnafor the good-doers
٣
(3)
As guidance and mercy for the doers of good

ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnaThose who
يُقِيمُونَ
yuqīmūnaestablish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
l-ṣalatathe prayer
وَيُؤْتُونَ
wayu'tūnaand give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
l-zakatazakah
وَهُم
wahumand they
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
bil-ākhiratiin the Hereafter
هُمْ
hum[they]
يُوقِنُونَ
yūqinūnabelieve firmly
٤
(4)
Who establish prayer and give zakāh, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith].

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāikaThose
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā(are) on
هُدًۭى
hudanguidance
مِّن
minfrom
رَّبِّهِمْ ۖ
rabbihimtheir Lord
وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
wa-ulāikaand those
هُمُ
humu[they]
ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
l-muf'liḥūna(are) the successful
٥
(5)
Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.

وَمِنَ
waminaAnd of
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsithe mankind
مَن
man(is he) who
يَشْتَرِى
yashtarīpurchases
لَهْوَ
lahwaidle tales
ٱلْحَدِيثِ
l-ḥadīthiidle tales
لِيُضِلَّ
liyuḍillato mislead
عَن
ʿanfrom
سَبِيلِ
sabīli(the) path
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
بِغَيْرِ
bighayriwithout
عِلْمٍۢ
ʿil'minknowledge
وَيَتَّخِذَهَا
wayattakhidhahāand takes it
هُزُوًا ۚ
huzuwan(in) ridicule
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāikaThose
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
عَذَابٌۭ
ʿadhābun(is) a punishment
مُّهِينٌۭ
muhīnunhumiliating
٦
(6)
And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allāh without knowledge and who takes it [i.e., His way] in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.

وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
تُتْلَىٰ
tut'lāare recited
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhito him
ءَايَـٰتُنَا
āyātunāOur Verses
وَلَّىٰ
wallāhe turns away
مُسْتَكْبِرًۭا
mus'takbiranarrogantly
كَأَن
ka-anas if
لَّمْ
lamnot
يَسْمَعْهَا
yasmaʿhāhe (had) heard them
كَأَنَّ
ka-annaas if
فِىٓ
in
أُذُنَيْهِ
udhunayhihis ears
وَقْرًۭا ۖ
waqran(is) deafness
فَبَشِّرْهُ
fabashir'huSo give him tidings
بِعَذَابٍ
biʿadhābinof a punishment
أَلِيمٍ
alīminpainful
٧
(7)
And when Our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieve
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilūand do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥātirighteous deeds
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
جَنَّـٰتُ
jannātu(are) Gardens
ٱلنَّعِيمِ
l-naʿīmi(of) Delight
٨
(8)
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure,

خَـٰلِدِينَ
khālidīna(To) abide forever
فِيهَا ۖ
fīhāin it
وَعْدَ
waʿda(The) Promise of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(The) Promise of Allah
حَقًّۭا ۚ
ḥaqqan(is) true
وَهُوَ
wahuwaAnd He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
٩
(9)
Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allāh [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

خَلَقَ
khalaqaHe created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
بِغَيْرِ
bighayriwithout
عَمَدٍۢ
ʿamadinpillars
تَرَوْنَهَا ۖ
tarawnahāthat you see
وَأَلْقَىٰ
wa-alqāand has cast
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
رَوَٰسِىَ
rawāsiyafirm mountains
أَن
anlest
تَمِيدَ
tamīdait (might) shake
بِكُمْ
bikumwith you
وَبَثَّ
wabathaand He dispersed
فِيهَا
fīhāin it
مِن
minfrom
كُلِّ
kullievery
دَآبَّةٍۢ ۚ
dābbatincreature
وَأَنزَلْنَا
wa-anzalnāAnd We sent down
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāithe sky
مَآءًۭ
māanwater
فَأَنۢبَتْنَا
fa-anbatnāthen We caused to grow
فِيهَا
fīhātherein
مِن
minof
كُلِّ
kullievery
زَوْجٍۢ
zawjinkind
كَرِيمٍ
karīminnoble
١٠
(10)
He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind.

هَـٰذَا
hādhāThis
خَلْقُ
khalqu(is the) creation
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
فَأَرُونِى
fa-arūnīSo show Me
مَاذَا
mādhāwhat
خَلَقَ
khalaqahave created
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose
مِن
minbesides Him
دُونِهِۦ ۚ
dūnihibesides Him
بَلِ
baliNay
ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
l-ẓālimūnathe wrongdoers
فِى
(are) in
ضَلَـٰلٍۢ
ḍalālinerror
مُّبِينٍۢ
mubīninclear
١١
(11)
This is the creation of Allāh. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error.

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd verily
ءَاتَيْنَا
ātaynāWe gave
لُقْمَـٰنَ
luq'mānaLuqman
ٱلْحِكْمَةَ
l-ḥik'matathe wisdom
أَنِ
anithat
ٱشْكُرْ
ush'kurBe grateful
لِلَّهِ ۚ
lillahito Allah
وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
يَشْكُرْ
yashkur(is) grateful
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamāthen only
يَشْكُرُ
yashkuruhe is grateful
لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ
linafsihifor himself
وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
كَفَرَ
kafara(is) ungrateful
فَإِنَّ
fa-innathen indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
غَنِىٌّ
ghaniyyun(is) Free of need
حَمِيدٌۭ
ḥamīdunPraiseworthy
١٢
(12)
And We had certainly given Luqmān wisdom [and said], "Be grateful to Allāh." And whoever is grateful is grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allāh is Free of need and Praiseworthy.

وَإِذْ
wa-idhAnd when
قَالَ
qālasaid
لُقْمَـٰنُ
luq'mānuLuqman
لِٱبْنِهِۦ
li-ib'nihito his son
وَهُوَ
wahuwawhile he
يَعِظُهُۥ
yaʿiẓuhu(was) instructing him
يَـٰبُنَىَّ
yābunayyaO my son
لَا
(Do) not
تُشْرِكْ
tush'rikassociate partners
بِٱللَّهِ ۖ
bil-lahiwith Allah
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلشِّرْكَ
l-shir'kaassociating partners
لَظُلْمٌ
laẓul'mun(is) surely an injustice
عَظِيمٌۭ
ʿaẓīmungreat
١٣
(13)
And [mention, O Muḥammad], when Luqmān said to his son while he was instructing him, "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allāh. Indeed, association [with Him] is great injustice."

وَوَصَّيْنَا
wawaṣṣaynāAnd We have enjoined
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
l-insāna(upon) man
بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ
biwālidayhifor his parents
حَمَلَتْهُ
ḥamalathucarried him
أُمُّهُۥ
ummuhuhis mother
وَهْنًا
wahnan(in) weakness
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāupon
وَهْنٍۢ
wahninweakness
وَفِصَـٰلُهُۥ
wafiṣāluhuand his weaning
فِى
(is) in
عَامَيْنِ
ʿāmaynitwo years
أَنِ
anithat
ٱشْكُرْ
ush'kurBe grateful
لِى
to Me
وَلِوَٰلِدَيْكَ
waliwālidaykaand to your parents
إِلَىَّ
ilayyatowards Me
ٱلْمَصِيرُ
l-maṣīru(is) the destination
١٤
(14)
And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.

وَإِن
wa-inBut if
جَـٰهَدَاكَ
jāhadākathey strive against you
عَلَىٰٓ
ʿalāon
أَن
anthat
تُشْرِكَ
tush'rikayou associate partners
بِى
with Me
مَا
what
لَيْسَ
laysanot
لَكَ
lakayou have
بِهِۦ
bihiof it
عِلْمٌۭ
ʿil'munany knowledge
فَلَا
falāthen (do) not
تُطِعْهُمَا ۖ
tuṭiʿ'humāobey both of them
وَصَاحِبْهُمَا
waṣāḥib'humāBut accompany them
فِى
in
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yāthe world
مَعْرُوفًۭا ۖ
maʿrūfan(with) kindness
وَٱتَّبِعْ
wa-ittabiʿand follow
سَبِيلَ
sabīla(the) path
مَنْ
man(of him) who
أَنَابَ
anābaturns
إِلَىَّ ۚ
ilayyato Me
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
إِلَىَّ
ilayyatowards Me
مَرْجِعُكُمْ
marjiʿukum(is) your return
فَأُنَبِّئُكُم
fa-unabbi-ukumthen I will inform you
بِمَا
bimāof what
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūnado
١٥
(15)
But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.

يَـٰبُنَىَّ
yābunayyaO my son
إِنَّهَآ
innahāIndeed it
إِن
inif
تَكُ
takuit be
مِثْقَالَ
mith'qāla(the) weight
حَبَّةٍۢ
ḥabbatin(of) a grain
مِّنْ
minof
خَرْدَلٍۢ
khardalina mustard seed
فَتَكُن
fatakunand it be
فِى
in
صَخْرَةٍ
ṣakhratina rock
أَوْ
awor
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
أَوْ
awor
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
يَأْتِ
yatiAllah will bring it forth
بِهَا
bihāAllah will bring it forth
ٱللَّهُ ۚ
l-lahuAllah will bring it forth
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
لَطِيفٌ
laṭīfun(is) All-Subtle
خَبِيرٌۭ
khabīrunAll-Aware
١٦
(16)
[And Luqmān said], "O my son, indeed if it [i.e., a wrong] should be the weight of a mustard seed and should be within a rock or [anywhere] in the heavens or in the earth, Allāh will bring it forth. Indeed, Allāh is Subtle and Aware.

يَـٰبُنَىَّ
yābunayyaO my son
أَقِمِ
aqimiEstablish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
l-ṣalatathe prayer
وَأْمُرْ
wamurand enjoin
بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ
bil-maʿrūfi[with] the right
وَٱنْهَ
wa-in'haand forbid
عَنِ
ʿanifrom
ٱلْمُنكَرِ
l-munkarithe wrong
وَٱصْبِرْ
wa-iṣ'birand be patient
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāover
مَآ
what
أَصَابَكَ ۖ
aṣābakabefalls you
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
مِنْ
min(is) of
عَزْمِ
ʿazmithe matters requiring determination
ٱلْأُمُورِ
l-umūrithe matters requiring determination
١٧
(17)
O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] resolve.

وَلَا
walāAnd (do) not
تُصَعِّرْ
tuṣaʿʿirturn
خَدَّكَ
khaddakayour cheek
لِلنَّاسِ
lilnnāsifrom men
وَلَا
walāand (do) not
تَمْشِ
tamshiwalk
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
مَرَحًا ۖ
maraḥanexultantly
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
لَا
(does) not
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbulike
كُلَّ
kullaevery
مُخْتَالٍۢ
mukh'tālinself-conceited
فَخُورٍۢ
fakhūrinboaster
١٨
(18)
And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allāh does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.

وَٱقْصِدْ
wa-iq'ṣidAnd be moderate
فِى
in
مَشْيِكَ
mashyikayour pace
وَٱغْضُضْ
wa-ugh'ḍuḍand lower
مِن
min[of]
صَوْتِكَ ۚ
ṣawtikayour voice
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
أَنكَرَ
ankara(the) harshest
ٱلْأَصْوَٰتِ
l-aṣwāti(of all) sounds
لَصَوْتُ
laṣawtu(is) surely (the) voice
ٱلْحَمِيرِ
l-ḥamīri(of) the donkeys
١٩
(19)
And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys."

أَلَمْ
alamDo not
تَرَوْا۟
tarawyou see
أَنَّ
annathat
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
سَخَّرَ
sakharahas subjected
لَكُم
lakumto you
مَّا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَمَا
wamāand whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
وَأَسْبَغَ
wa-asbaghaand amply bestowed
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykumupon you
نِعَمَهُۥ
niʿamahuHis Bounties
ظَـٰهِرَةًۭ
ẓāhiratanapparent
وَبَاطِنَةًۭ ۗ
wabāṭinatanand hidden
وَمِنَ
waminaBut of
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsithe people
مَن
man(is he) who
يُجَـٰدِلُ
yujādiludisputes
فِى
about
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
بِغَيْرِ
bighayriwithout
عِلْمٍۢ
ʿil'minknowledge
وَلَا
walāand not
هُدًۭى
hudanguidance
وَلَا
walāand not
كِتَـٰبٍۢ
kitābina book
مُّنِيرٍۢ
munīrinenlightening
٢٠
(20)
Do you not see that Allāh has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent and unapparent? But of the people is he who disputes about Allāh without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him].

وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
قِيلَ
qīlait is said
لَهُمُ
lahumuto them
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟
ittabiʿūFollow
مَآ
what
أَنزَلَ
anzalaAllah (has) revealed
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah (has) revealed
قَالُوا۟
qālūthey say
بَلْ
balNay
نَتَّبِعُ
nattabiʿuwe will follow
مَا
what
وَجَدْنَا
wajadnāwe found
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhion it
ءَابَآءَنَآ ۚ
ābāanāour forefathers
أَوَلَوْ
awalawEven if
كَانَ
kānaShaitaan was
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ
l-shayṭānuShaitaan was
يَدْعُوهُمْ
yadʿūhum(to) call them
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
عَذَابِ
ʿadhābi(the) punishment
ٱلسَّعِيرِ
l-saʿīri(of) the Blaze
٢١
(21)
And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allāh has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers." Even if Satan was inviting them to the punishment of the Blaze?

۞ وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
يُسْلِمْ
yus'limsubmits
وَجْهَهُۥٓ
wajhahuhis face
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
وَهُوَ
wahuwawhile he
مُحْسِنٌۭ
muḥ'sinun(is) a good-doer
فَقَدِ
faqadithen indeed
ٱسْتَمْسَكَ
is'tamsakahe has grasped
بِٱلْعُرْوَةِ
bil-ʿur'watithe handhold
ٱلْوُثْقَىٰ ۗ
l-wuth'qāthe most trustworthy
وَإِلَى
wa-ilāAnd to
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
عَـٰقِبَةُ
ʿāqibatu(is the) end
ٱلْأُمُورِ
l-umūri(of) the matters
٢٢
(22)
And whoever submits his face [i.e., self] to Allāh while he is a doer of good - then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And to Allāh will be the outcome of [all] matters.

وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
كَفَرَ
kafaradisbelieves
فَلَا
falālet not
يَحْزُنكَ
yaḥzunkagrieve you
كُفْرُهُۥٓ ۚ
kuf'ruhuhis disbelief
إِلَيْنَا
ilaynāTo Us
مَرْجِعُهُمْ
marjiʿuhum(is) their return
فَنُنَبِّئُهُم
fanunabbi-uhumthen We will inform them
بِمَا
bimāof what
عَمِلُوٓا۟ ۚ
ʿamilūthey did
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
عَلِيمٌۢ
ʿalīmun(is) the All-Knower
بِذَاتِ
bidhātiof what
ٱلصُّدُورِ
l-ṣudūri(is in) the breasts
٢٣
(23)
And whoever has disbelieved - let not his disbelief grieve you. To Us is their return, and We will inform them of what they did. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts.

نُمَتِّعُهُمْ
numattiʿuhumWe grant them enjoyment
قَلِيلًۭا
qalīlan(for) a little
ثُمَّ
thummathen
نَضْطَرُّهُمْ
naḍṭarruhumWe will force them
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
عَذَابٍ
ʿadhābina punishment
غَلِيظٍۢ
ghalīẓinsevere
٢٤
(24)
We grant them enjoyment for a little; then We will force them to a massive punishment.

وَلَئِن
wala-inAnd if
سَأَلْتَهُم
sa-altahumyou ask them
مَّنْ
manWho
خَلَقَ
khalaqacreated
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍaand the earth
لَيَقُولُنَّ
layaqūlunnaThey will surely say
ٱللَّهُ ۚ
l-lahuAllah
قُلِ
quliSay
ٱلْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamduAll praises
لِلَّهِ ۚ
lillahi(are) for Allah
بَلْ
balBut
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
aktharuhummost of them
لَا
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūnaknow
٢٥
(25)
And if you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth?" they would surely say, "Allāh." Say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allāh"; but most of them do not know.

لِلَّهِ
lillahiTo Allah (belongs)
مَا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ
wal-arḍiand the earth
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
هُوَ
huwaHe
ٱلْغَنِىُّ
l-ghaniyu(is) Free of need
ٱلْحَمِيدُ
l-ḥamīduthe Praiseworthy
٢٦
(26)
To Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Indeed, Allāh is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.

وَلَوْ
walawAnd if
أَنَّمَا
annamāwhatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
مِن
minof
شَجَرَةٍ
shajaratin(the) trees
أَقْلَـٰمٌۭ
aqlāmun(were) pens
وَٱلْبَحْرُ
wal-baḥruand the sea
يَمُدُّهُۥ
yamudduhu(to) add to it
مِنۢ
minafter it
بَعْدِهِۦ
baʿdihiafter it
سَبْعَةُ
sabʿatuseven
أَبْحُرٍۢ
abḥurinseas
مَّا
not
نَفِدَتْ
nafidatwould be exhausted
كَلِمَـٰتُ
kalimātu(the) Words
ٱللَّهِ ۗ
l-lahi(of) Allah
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
عَزِيزٌ
ʿazīzun(is) All-Mighty
حَكِيمٌۭ
ḥakīmunAll-Wise
٢٧
(27)
And if whatever trees upon the earth were pens and the sea [was ink], replenished thereafter by seven [more] seas, the words of Allāh would not be exhausted. Indeed, Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise.

Not
خَلْقُكُمْ
khalqukum(is) your creation
وَلَا
walāand not
بَعْثُكُمْ
baʿthukumyour resurrection
إِلَّا
illābut
كَنَفْسٍۢ
kanafsinas a soul
وَٰحِدَةٍ ۗ
wāḥidatinsingle
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
سَمِيعٌۢ
samīʿun(is) All-Hearer
بَصِيرٌ
baṣīrunAll-Seer
٢٨
(28)
Your creation and your resurrection will not be but as that of a single soul. Indeed, Allāh is Hearing and Seeing.

أَلَمْ

أَنَّ

ٱللَّهَ

يُولِجُ
yūlijucauses to enter
ٱلَّيْلَ
al-laylathe night
فِى

ٱلنَّهَارِ
l-nahārithe day
وَيُولِجُ
wayūlijuand causes to enter
ٱلنَّهَارَ
l-nahārathe day
فِى
into
ٱلَّيْلِ
al-laylithe night
وَسَخَّرَ
wasakharaand has subjected
ٱلشَّمْسَ
l-shamsathe sun
وَٱلْقَمَرَ
wal-qamaraand the moon
كُلٌّۭ
kulluneach
يَجْرِىٓ
yajrīmoving
إِلَىٰٓ
ilāfor
أَجَلٍۢ
ajalina term
مُّسَمًّۭى
musammanappointed
وَأَنَّ
wa-annaand that
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
بِمَا
bimāof what
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūnayou do
خَبِيرٌۭ
khabīrun(is) All-Aware
٢٩
(29)
Do you not see [i.e., know] that Allāh causes the night to enter the day and causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term, and that Allāh, of whatever you do, is Aware?

ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikaThat
بِأَنَّ
bi-anna(is) because
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
هُوَ
huwaHe
ٱلْحَقُّ
l-ḥaqu(is) the Truth
وَأَنَّ
wa-annaand that
مَا
what
يَدْعُونَ
yadʿūnathey call
مِن
minbesides Him
دُونِهِ
dūnihibesides Him
ٱلْبَـٰطِلُ
l-bāṭilu(is) [the] falsehood
وَأَنَّ
wa-annaand that
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
هُوَ
huwaHe
ٱلْعَلِىُّ
l-ʿaliyu(is) the Most High
ٱلْكَبِيرُ
l-kabīruthe Most Great
٣٠
(30)
That is because Allāh is the True Reality, and that what they call upon other than Him is falsehood, and because Allāh is the Most High, the Grand.

أَلَمْ

ٱلْفُلْكَ
l-ful'kathe ships
تَجْرِى
tajrīsail
فِى
through
ٱلْبَحْرِ
l-baḥrithe sea
بِنِعْمَتِ
biniʿ'matiby (the) Grace
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
لِيُرِيَكُم
liyuriyakumthat He may show you
مِّنْ
minof
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ ۚ
āyātihiHis Signs
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ
laāyātinsurely (are) Signs
لِّكُلِّ
likullifor everyone
صَبَّارٍۢ
ṣabbārin(who is) patient
شَكُورٍۢ
shakūringrateful
٣١
(31)
Do you not see that ships sail through the sea by the favor of Allāh that He may show you of His signs? Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
غَشِيَهُم
ghashiyahumcovers them
مَّوْجٌۭ
mawjuna wave
كَٱلظُّلَلِ
kal-ẓulalilike canopies
دَعَوُا۟
daʿawūthey call
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
مُخْلِصِينَ
mukh'liṣīna(being) sincere
لَهُ
lahuto Him
ٱلدِّينَ
l-dīna(in) religion
فَلَمَّا
falammāBut when
نَجَّىٰهُمْ
najjāhumHe delivers them
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱلْبَرِّ
l-barithe land
فَمِنْهُم
famin'humthen among them
مُّقْتَصِدٌۭ ۚ
muq'taṣidun(some are) moderate
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
يَجْحَدُ
yajḥadudeny
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ
biāyātināOur Signs
إِلَّا
illāexcept
كُلُّ
kulluevery
خَتَّارٍۢ
khattārintraitor
كَفُورٍۢ
kafūrinungrateful
٣٢
(32)
And when waves come over them like canopies, they supplicate Allāh, sincere to Him in religion [i.e., faith]. But when He delivers them to the land, there are [some] of them who are moderate [in faith]. And none rejects Our signs except everyone treacherous and ungrateful.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhāO
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsumankind
ٱتَّقُوا۟
ittaqūFear
رَبَّكُمْ
rabbakumyour Lord
وَٱخْشَوْا۟
wa-ikh'shawand fear
يَوْمًۭا
yawmana Day
لَّا
not
يَجْزِى
yajzīcan avail
وَالِدٌ
wāliduna father
عَن
ʿan[for]
وَلَدِهِۦ
waladihihis son
وَلَا
walāand not
مَوْلُودٌ
mawlūduna son
هُوَ
huwahe
جَازٍ
jāzin(can) avail
عَن
ʿan[for]
وَالِدِهِۦ
wālidihihis father
شَيْـًٔا ۚ
shayananything
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
وَعْدَ
waʿda(the) Promise
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
حَقٌّۭ ۖ
ḥaqqun(is) True
فَلَا
falāso let not deceive you
تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ
taghurrannakumuso let not deceive you
ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ
l-ḥayatuthe life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā(of) the world
وَلَا
walāand let not deceive you
يَغُرَّنَّكُم
yaghurrannakumand let not deceive you
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahiabout Allah
ٱلْغَرُورُ
l-gharūruthe deceiver
٣٣
(33)
O mankind, fear your Lord and fear a Day when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all. Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allāh by the Deceiver [i.e., Satan].

ʿil'mu(is the) knowledge
ٱلسَّاعَةِ
l-sāʿati(of) the Hour
وَيُنَزِّلُ
wayunazziluand He sends down
ٱلْغَيْثَ
l-ghaythathe rain
وَيَعْلَمُ
wayaʿlamuand knows
مَا
what
فِى
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْحَامِ ۖ
l-arḥāmithe wombs
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
تَدْرِى
tadrīknows
نَفْسٌۭ
nafsunany soul
مَّاذَا
mādhāwhat
تَكْسِبُ
taksibuit will earn
غَدًۭا ۖ
ghadantomorrow
وَمَا
wamāand not
تَدْرِى
tadrīknows
نَفْسٌۢ
nafsunany soul
بِأَىِّ
bi-ayyiin what
أَرْضٍۢ
arḍinland
تَمُوتُ ۚ
tamūtuit will die
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
عَلِيمٌ
ʿalīmun(is) All-Knower
خَبِيرٌۢ
khabīrunAll-Aware
٣٤
(34)
Indeed, Allāh [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing and Aware.
