تَنزِيلُ
tanzīlu(The) revelation
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābi(of) the Book
مِنَ
mina(is) from
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
ٱلْعَزِيزِ
l-ʿazīzithe All-Mighty
ٱلْعَلِيمِ
l-ʿalīmithe All-Knower
٢
(2)
The revelation of the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] is from Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Knowing,

غَافِرِ
ghāfiri(The) Forgiver
ٱلذَّنۢبِ
l-dhanbi(of) the sin
وَقَابِلِ
waqābiliand (the) Acceptor
ٱلتَّوْبِ
l-tawbi(of) [the] repentance
شَدِيدِ
shadīdisevere
ٱلْعِقَابِ
l-ʿiqābi(in) the punishment
ذِى
dhīOwner (of) the abundance
ٱلطَّوْلِ ۖ
l-ṭawliOwner (of) the abundance
لَآ
(There is) no
إِلَـٰهَ
ilāhagod
إِلَّا
illāexcept
هُوَ ۖ
huwaHim
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhito Him
ٱلْمَصِيرُ
l-maṣīru(is) the final return
٣
(3)
The forgiver of sin, acceptor of repentance, severe in punishment, owner of abundance. There is no deity except Him; to Him is the destination.

Not
يُجَـٰدِلُ
yujādiludispute
فِىٓ
concerning
ءَايَـٰتِ
āyāti(the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
إِلَّا
illāexcept
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarūdisbelieve
فَلَا
falāso (let) not
يَغْرُرْكَ
yaghrur'kadeceive you
تَقَلُّبُهُمْ
taqallubuhumtheir movement
فِى
in
ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ
l-bilādithe cities
٤
(4)
No one disputes concerning the signs of Allāh except those who disbelieve, so be not deceived by their [uninhibited] movement throughout the land.

كَذَّبَتْ
kadhabatDenied
قَبْلَهُمْ
qablahumbefore them
قَوْمُ
qawmu(the) people
نُوحٍۢ
nūḥin(of) Nuh
وَٱلْأَحْزَابُ
wal-aḥzābuand the factions
مِنۢ
minafter them
بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ
baʿdihimafter them
وَهَمَّتْ
wahammatand plotted
كُلُّ
kulluevery
أُمَّةٍۭ
ummatinnation
بِرَسُولِهِمْ
birasūlihimagainst their Messenger
لِيَأْخُذُوهُ ۖ
liyakhudhūhuto seize him
وَجَـٰدَلُوا۟
wajādalūand they disputed
بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ
bil-bāṭiliby falsehood
لِيُدْحِضُوا۟
liyud'ḥiḍūto refute
بِهِ
bihithereby
ٱلْحَقَّ
l-ḥaqathe truth
فَأَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ
fa-akhadhtuhumSo I seized them
فَكَيْفَ
fakayfaThen how
كَانَ
kānawas
عِقَابِ
ʿiqābiMy penalty
٥
(5)
The people of Noah denied before them and the [disbelieving] factions after them, and every nation intended [a plot] for their messenger to seize him, and they disputed by [using] falsehood to [attempt to] invalidate thereby the truth. So I seized them, and how [terrible] was My penalty.

وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wakadhālikaAnd thus
حَقَّتْ
ḥaqqathas been justified
كَلِمَتُ
kalimatu(the) Word
رَبِّكَ
rabbika(of) your Lord
عَلَى
ʿalāagainst
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوٓا۟
kafarūdisbelieved
أَنَّهُمْ
annahumthat they
أَصْحَـٰبُ
aṣḥābu(are) companions
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nāri(of) the Fire
٦
(6)
And thus has the word [i.e., decree] of your Lord come into effect upon those who disbelieved that they are companions of the Fire.

ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnaThose who
يَحْمِلُونَ
yaḥmilūnabear
ٱلْعَرْشَ
l-ʿarshathe Throne
وَمَنْ
wamanand who
حَوْلَهُۥ
ḥawlahu(are) around it
يُسَبِّحُونَ
yusabbiḥūnaglorify
بِحَمْدِ
biḥamdi(the) praises
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim(of) their Lord
وَيُؤْمِنُونَ
wayu'minūnaand believe
بِهِۦ
bihiin Him
وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ
wayastaghfirūnaand ask forgiveness
لِلَّذِينَ
lilladhīnafor those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieve
رَبَّنَا
rabbanāOur Lord
وَسِعْتَ
wasiʿ'taYou encompass
كُلَّ
kullaall
شَىْءٍۢ
shayinthings
رَّحْمَةًۭ
raḥmatan(by Your) Mercy
وَعِلْمًۭا
waʿil'manand knowledge
فَٱغْفِرْ
fa-igh'firso forgive
لِلَّذِينَ
lilladhīnathose who
تَابُوا۟
tābūrepent
وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟
wa-ittabaʿūand follow
سَبِيلَكَ
sabīlakaYour Way
وَقِهِمْ
waqihimand save them (from)
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba(the) punishment
ٱلْجَحِيمِ
l-jaḥīmi(of) the Hellfire
٧
(7)
Those [angels] who carry the Throne and those around it exalt [Allāh] with praise of their Lord and believe in Him and ask forgiveness for those who have believed, [saying], "Our Lord, You have encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who have repented and followed Your way and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire.

رَبَّنَا
rabbanāOur Lord
وَأَدْخِلْهُمْ
wa-adkhil'humAnd admit them
جَنَّـٰتِ
jannāti(to) Gardens
عَدْنٍ
ʿadnin(of) Eden
ٱلَّتِى
allatīwhich
وَعَدتَّهُمْ
waʿadttahumYou have promised them
وَمَن
wamanand whoever
صَلَحَ
ṣalaḥa(was) righteous
مِنْ
minamong
ءَابَآئِهِمْ
ābāihimtheir fathers
وَأَزْوَٰجِهِمْ
wa-azwājihimand their spouses
وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِهِمْ ۚ
wadhurriyyātihimand their offspring
إِنَّكَ
innakaIndeed You
أَنتَ
antaYou
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu(are) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
٨
(8)
Our Lord, and admit them to gardens of perpetual residence which You have promised them and whoever was righteous among their forefathers, their spouses and their offspring. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

وَقِهِمُ
waqihimuAnd protect them
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚ
l-sayiāti(from) the evils
وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
تَقِ
taqiyou protect
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ
l-sayiāti(from) the evils
يَوْمَئِذٍۢ
yawma-idhinthat Day
فَقَدْ
faqadthen verily
رَحِمْتَهُۥ ۚ
raḥim'tahuYou have bestowed mercy on him
وَذَٰلِكَ
wadhālikaAnd that
هُوَ
huwa[it]
ٱلْفَوْزُ
l-fawzu(is) the success
ٱلْعَظِيمُ
l-ʿaẓīmuthe great
٩
(9)
And protect them from the evil consequences [of their deeds]. And he whom You protect from evil consequences that Day - You will have given him mercy. And that is the great attainment."

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarūdisbelieved
يُنَادَوْنَ
yunādawnawill be cried out to them
لَمَقْتُ
lamaqtuCertainly Allah's hatred
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiCertainly Allah's hatred
أَكْبَرُ
akbaru(was) greater
مِن
minthan
مَّقْتِكُمْ
maqtikumyour hatred
أَنفُسَكُمْ
anfusakum(of) yourselves
إِذْ
idhwhen
تُدْعَوْنَ
tud'ʿawnayou were called
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ
l-īmānithe faith
فَتَكْفُرُونَ
fatakfurūnaand you disbelieved
١٠
(10)
Indeed, those who disbelieve will be addressed, "The hatred of Allāh for you was [even] greater than your hatred of yourselves [this Day in Hell] when you were invited to faith, but you disbelieved [i.e., refused]."

قَالُوا۟
qālūThey (will) say
رَبَّنَآ
rabbanāOur Lord
أَمَتَّنَا
amattanāYou gave us death
ٱثْنَتَيْنِ
ith'nataynitwice
وَأَحْيَيْتَنَا
wa-aḥyaytanāand You gave us life
ٱثْنَتَيْنِ
ith'nataynitwice
فَٱعْتَرَفْنَا
fa-iʿ'tarafnāand we confess
بِذُنُوبِنَا
bidhunūbināour sins
فَهَلْ
fahalSo is (there)
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
خُرُوجٍۢ
khurūjinget out
مِّن
minany
سَبِيلٍۢ
sabīlinway
١١
(11)
They will say, "Our Lord, You made us lifeless twice and gave us life twice, and we have confessed our sins. So is there to an exit any way?"

ذَٰلِكُم
dhālikumThat
بِأَنَّهُۥٓ
bi-annahu(is) because
إِذَا
idhāwhen
دُعِىَ
duʿiyaAllah was invoked
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah was invoked
وَحْدَهُۥ
waḥdahuAlone
كَفَرْتُمْ ۖ
kafartumyou disbelieved
وَإِن
wa-inbut if
يُشْرَكْ
yush'rak(others) were associated
بِهِۦ
bihiwith Him
تُؤْمِنُوا۟ ۚ
tu'minūyou believed
فَٱلْحُكْمُ
fal-ḥuk'muSo the judgment
لِلَّهِ
lillahi(is) with Allah
ٱلْعَلِىِّ
l-ʿaliyithe Most High
ٱلْكَبِيرِ
l-kabīrithe Most Great
١٢
(12)
[They will be told], "That is because, when Allāh was called upon alone, you disbelieved; but if others were associated with Him, you believed. So the judgement is with Allāh, the Most High, the Grand."

هُوَ
huwaHe
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(is) the One Who
يُرِيكُمْ
yurīkumshows you
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ
āyātihiHis Signs
وَيُنَزِّلُ
wayunazziluand sends down
لَكُم
lakumfor you
مِّنَ
minafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāithe sky
رِزْقًۭا ۚ
riz'qanprovision
وَمَا
wamāBut (does) not
يَتَذَكَّرُ
yatadhakkarutake heed
إِلَّا
illāexcept
مَن
man(one) who
يُنِيبُ
yunībuturns
١٣
(13)
It is He who shows you His signs and sends down to you from the sky, provision. But none will remember except he who turns back [in repentance].

فَٱدْعُوا۟
fa-id'ʿūSo invoke
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
مُخْلِصِينَ
mukh'liṣīna(being) sincere
لَهُ
lahuto Him
ٱلدِّينَ
l-dīna(in) the religion
وَلَوْ
walaweven though
كَرِهَ
karihadislike (it)
ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
l-kāfirūnathe disbelievers
١٤
(14)
So invoke Allāh, [being] sincere to Him in religion, although the disbelievers dislike it.

رَفِيعُ
rafīʿuPossessor of the Highest Ranks
ٱلدَّرَجَـٰتِ
l-darajātiPossessor of the Highest Ranks
ذُو
dhūOwner (of) the Throne
ٱلْعَرْشِ
l-ʿarshiOwner (of) the Throne
يُلْقِى
yul'qīHe places
ٱلرُّوحَ
l-rūḥathe inspiration
مِنْ
minof
أَمْرِهِۦ
amrihiHis Command
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāupon
مَن
manwhom
يَشَآءُ
yashāuHe wills
مِنْ
minof
عِبَادِهِۦ
ʿibādihiHis slaves
لِيُنذِرَ
liyundhirato warn
يَوْمَ
yawma(of the) Day
ٱلتَّلَاقِ
l-talāqi(of) the Meeting
١٥
(15)
[He is] the Exalted above [all] degrees, Owner of the Throne; He places the inspiration of His command [i.e., revelation] upon whom He wills of His servants to warn of the Day of Meeting.

يَوْمَ

هُم

بَـٰرِزُونَ ۖ
bārizūnacome forth
لَا
not
يَخْفَىٰ
yakhfāis hidden
عَلَى
ʿalāfrom
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
مِنْهُمْ
min'humabout them
شَىْءٌۭ ۚ
shayonanything
لِّمَنِ
limaniFor whom
ٱلْمُلْكُ
l-mul'ku(is) the Dominion
ٱلْيَوْمَ ۖ
l-yawmathis Day
لِلَّهِ
lillahiFor Allah
ٱلْوَٰحِدِ
l-wāḥidithe One
ٱلْقَهَّارِ
l-qahārithe Irresistible
١٦
(16)
The Day they come forth nothing concerning them will be concealed from Allāh. To whom belongs [all] sovereignty this Day? To Allāh, the One, the Prevailing.

ٱلْيَوْمَ
al-yawmaThis Day
تُجْزَىٰ
tuj'zāwill be recompensed
كُلُّ
kulluevery
نَفْسٍۭ
nafsinsoul
بِمَا
bimāfor what
كَسَبَتْ ۚ
kasabatit earned
لَا
No
ظُلْمَ
ẓul'mainjustice
ٱلْيَوْمَ ۚ
l-yawmatoday
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
سَرِيعُ
sarīʿu(is) Swift
ٱلْحِسَابِ
l-ḥisābi(in) Account
١٧
(17)
This Day every soul will be recompensed for what it earned. No injustice today! Indeed, Allāh is swift in account.

وَأَنذِرْهُمْ
wa-andhir'humAnd warn them
يَوْمَ
yawma(of the) Day
ٱلْـَٔازِفَةِ
l-āzifatithe Approaching
إِذِ
idhiwhen
ٱلْقُلُوبُ
l-qulūbuthe hearts
لَدَى
ladā(are) at
ٱلْحَنَاجِرِ
l-ḥanājirithe throats
كَـٰظِمِينَ ۚ
kāẓimīnachoked
مَا
Not
لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
lilẓẓālimīnafor the wrongdoers
مِنْ
minany
حَمِيمٍۢ
ḥamīminintimate friend
وَلَا
walāand no
شَفِيعٍۢ
shafīʿinintercessor
يُطَاعُ
yuṭāʿu(who) is obeyed
١٨
(18)
And warn them, [O Muḥammad], of the Approaching Day, when hearts are at the throats, filled [with distress]. For the wrongdoers there will be no devoted friend and no intercessor [who is] obeyed.

يَعْلَمُ
yaʿlamuHe knows
خَآئِنَةَ
khāinata(the) stealthy glance
ٱلْأَعْيُنِ
l-aʿyuni(the) stealthy glance
وَمَا
wamāand what
تُخْفِى
tukh'fīconceal
ٱلصُّدُورُ
l-ṣudūruthe breasts
١٩
(19)
He knows that which deceives the eyes and what the breasts conceal.

وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahuAnd Allah
يَقْضِى
yaqḍījudges
بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ
bil-ḥaqiin truth
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnawhile those (whom)
يَدْعُونَ
yadʿūnathey invoke
مِن
minbesides Him
دُونِهِۦ
dūnihibesides Him
لَا
not
يَقْضُونَ
yaqḍūnathey judge
بِشَىْءٍ ۗ
bishayinwith anything
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
هُوَ
huwaHe
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
l-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلْبَصِيرُ
l-baṣīruthe All-Seer
٢٠
(20)
And Allāh judges with truth, while those they invoke besides Him judge not with anything. Indeed, Allāh - He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

۞ أَوَلَمْ
awalamDo not
يَسِيرُوا۟
yasīrūthey travel
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
فَيَنظُرُوا۟
fayanẓurūand see
كَيْفَ
kayfahow
كَانَ
kānawas
عَـٰقِبَةُ
ʿāqibatu(the) end
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna(of) those who
كَانُوا۟
kānūwere
مِن
minbefore them
قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ
qablihimbefore them
كَانُوا۟
kānūThey were
هُمْ
hum[they]
أَشَدَّ
ashaddasuperior
مِنْهُمْ
min'humto them
قُوَّةًۭ
quwwatan(in) strength
وَءَاثَارًۭا
waāthāranand (in) impressions
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe land
فَأَخَذَهُمُ
fa-akhadhahumubut Allah seized them
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahubut Allah seized them
بِذُنُوبِهِمْ
bidhunūbihimfor their sins
وَمَا
wamāand not
كَانَ
kānawas
لَهُم
lahumfor them
مِّنَ
minaagainst
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
مِن
minany
وَاقٍۢ
wāqinprotector
٢١
(21)
Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those who were before them? They were greater than them in strength and in impression on the land, but Allāh seized them for their sins. And they had not from Allāh any protector.

ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikaThat
بِأَنَّهُمْ
bi-annahum(was) because [they]
كَانَت
kānatused to come to them
تَّأْتِيهِمْ
tatīhimused to come to them
رُسُلُهُم
rusuluhumtheir Messengers
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ
bil-bayinātiwith clear proofs
فَكَفَرُوا۟
fakafarūbut they disbelieved
فَأَخَذَهُمُ
fa-akhadhahumuSo Allah seized them
ٱللَّهُ ۚ
l-lahuSo Allah seized them
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, He
قَوِىٌّۭ
qawiyyun(is) All-Strong
شَدِيدُ
shadīdusevere
ٱلْعِقَابِ
l-ʿiqābi(in) punishment
٢٢
(22)
That was because their messengers were coming to them with clear proofs, but they disbelieved, so Allāh seized them. Indeed, He is Powerful and severe in punishment.

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd certainly
أَرْسَلْنَا
arsalnāWe sent
مُوسَىٰ
mūsāMusa
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
biāyātināwith Our Signs
وَسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ
wasul'ṭāninand an authority
مُّبِينٍ
mubīninclear
٢٣
(23)
And We did certainly send Moses with Our signs and a clear authority

إِلَىٰ
ilāTo
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawnaFiraun
وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ
wahāmānaHaman
وَقَـٰرُونَ
waqārūnaand Qarun
فَقَالُوا۟
faqālūbut they said
سَـٰحِرٌۭ
sāḥirunA magician
كَذَّابٌۭ
kadhābuna liar
٢٤
(24)
To Pharaoh, Hāmān and Qārūn, but they said, "[He is] a magician and a liar."

فَلَمَّا
falammāThen when
جَآءَهُم
jāahumhe brought to them
بِٱلْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqithe truth
مِنْ
minfrom
عِندِنَا
ʿindināUs
قَالُوا۟
qālūthey said
ٱقْتُلُوٓا۟
uq'tulūKill
أَبْنَآءَ
abnāa(the) sons
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna(of) those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieve
مَعَهُۥ
maʿahuwith him
وَٱسْتَحْيُوا۟
wa-is'taḥyūand let live
نِسَآءَهُمْ ۚ
nisāahumtheir women
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
كَيْدُ
kaydu(is the) plot
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīna(of) the disbelievers
إِلَّا
illābut
فِى
in
ضَلَـٰلٍۢ
ḍalālinerror
٢٥
(25)
And when he brought them the truth from Us, they said, "Kill the sons of those who have believed with him and keep their women alive." But the plan of the disbelievers is not except in error.

وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd said
فِرْعَوْنُ
fir'ʿawnuFiraun
ذَرُونِىٓ
dharūnīLeave me
أَقْتُلْ
aqtul(so that) I kill
مُوسَىٰ
mūsāMusa
وَلْيَدْعُ
walyadʿuand let him call
رَبَّهُۥٓ ۖ
rabbahuhis Lord
إِنِّىٓ
innīIndeed, I
أَخَافُ
akhāfu[I] fear
أَن
anthat
يُبَدِّلَ
yubaddilahe will change
دِينَكُمْ
dīnakumyour religion
أَوْ
awor
أَن
anthat
يُظْهِرَ
yuẓ'hirahe may cause to appear
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe land
ٱلْفَسَادَ
l-fasādathe corruption
٢٦
(26)
And Pharaoh said, "Let me kill Moses and let him call upon his Lord. Indeed, I fear that he will change your religion or that he will cause corruption in the land."

وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd said
مُوسَىٰٓ
mūsāMusa
إِنِّى
innīIndeed, I
عُذْتُ
ʿudh'tu[I] seek refuge
بِرَبِّى
birabbīin my Lord
وَرَبِّكُم
warabbikumand your Lord
مِّن
minfrom
كُلِّ
kullievery
مُتَكَبِّرٍۢ
mutakabbirinarrogant one
لَّا
not
يُؤْمِنُ
yu'minuwho believes
بِيَوْمِ
biyawmi(in the) Day
ٱلْحِسَابِ
l-ḥisābi(of) the Account
٢٧
(27)
But Moses said, "Indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Account."

وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd said
رَجُلٌۭ
rajuluna man
مُّؤْمِنٌۭ
mu'minunbelieving
مِّنْ
minfrom
ءَالِ
āli(the) family
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna(of) Firaun
يَكْتُمُ
yaktumuwho conceal(ed)
إِيمَـٰنَهُۥٓ
īmānahuhis faith
أَتَقْتُلُونَ
ataqtulūnaWill you kill
رَجُلًا
rajulana man
أَن
anbecause
يَقُولَ
yaqūlahe says
رَبِّىَ
rabbiyaMy Lord
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu(is) Allah
وَقَدْ
waqadand indeed
جَآءَكُم
jāakumhe has brought you
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ
bil-bayināticlear proofs
مِن
minfrom
رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ
rabbikumyour Lord
وَإِن
wa-inAnd if
يَكُ
yakuhe is
كَـٰذِبًۭا
kādhibana liar
فَعَلَيْهِ
faʿalayhithen upon him
كَذِبُهُۥ ۖ
kadhibuhu(is) his lie
وَإِن
wa-inand if
يَكُ
yakuhe is
صَادِقًۭا
ṣādiqantruthful
يُصِبْكُم
yuṣib'kum(there) will strike you
بَعْضُ
baʿḍusome (of)
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(that) which
يَعِدُكُمْ ۖ
yaʿidukumhe threatens you
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
لَا
(does) not
يَهْدِى
yahdīguide
مَنْ
man(one) who
هُوَ
huwa[he]
مُسْرِفٌۭ
mus'rifun(is) a transgressor
كَذَّابٌۭ
kadhābuna liar
٢٨
(28)
And a believing man from the family of Pharaoh who concealed his faith said, "Do you kill a man [merely] because he says, 'My Lord is Allāh' while he has brought you clear proofs from your Lord? And if he should be lying, then upon him is [the consequence of] his lie; but if he should be truthful, there will strike you some of what he promises you. Indeed, Allāh does not guide one who is a transgressor and a liar.

yāqawmiO my people
لَكُمُ
lakumuFor you
ٱلْمُلْكُ
l-mul'ku(is) the kingdom
ٱلْيَوْمَ
l-yawmatoday
ظَـٰهِرِينَ
ẓāhirīnadominant
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe land
فَمَن
famanbut who
يَنصُرُنَا
yanṣurunāwill help us
مِنۢ
minfrom
بَأْسِ
basi(the) punishment
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
إِن
inif
جَآءَنَا ۚ
jāanāit came to us
قَالَ
qālaSaid
فِرْعَوْنُ
fir'ʿawnuFiraun
مَآ
Not
أُرِيكُمْ
urīkumI show you
إِلَّا
illāexcept
مَآ
what
أَرَىٰ
arāI see
وَمَآ
wamāand not
أَهْدِيكُمْ
ahdīkumI guide you
إِلَّا
illāexcept
سَبِيلَ
sabīla(to the) path
ٱلرَّشَادِ
l-rashādithe right
٢٩
(29)
O my people, sovereignty is yours today, [your being] dominant in the land. But who would protect us from the punishment of Allāh if it came to us?" Pharaoh said, "I do not show you except what I see, and I do not guide you except to the way of right conduct."

يَـٰقَوْمِ

إِنِّىٓ

عَلَيْكُم

مِّثْلَ

يَوْمِ
yawmi(the) day
ٱلْأَحْزَابِ
l-aḥzābi(of) the companies
٣٠
(30)
And he who believed said, "O my people, indeed I fear for you [a fate] like the day of the companies -

dabi(the) plight
قَوْمِ
qawmi(of the) people
نُوحٍۢ
nūḥin(of) Nuh
وَعَادٍۢ
waʿādinand Aad
وَثَمُودَ
wathamūdaand Thamud
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaand those
مِنۢ
minafter them
بَعْدِهِمْ ۚ
baʿdihimafter them
وَمَا
wamāAnd Allah (does) not
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAnd Allah (does) not
يُرِيدُ
yurīduwant
ظُلْمًۭا
ẓul'maninjustice
لِّلْعِبَادِ
lil'ʿibādifor (His) slaves
٣١
(31)
Like the custom of the people of Noah and of ʿAad and Thamūd and those after them. And Allāh wants no injustice for [His] servants.

wayāqawmiAnd O my people
إِنِّىٓ

أَخَافُ

عَلَيْكُمْ

ٱلتَّنَادِ
l-tanādi(of) Calling

(32)
And O my people, indeed I fear for you the Day of Calling -

tuwallūnayou will turn back
مُدْبِرِينَ
mud'birīnafleeing
مَا

لَكُم

مِّنَ

مِنْ
minany
عَاصِمٍۢ ۗ
ʿāṣiminprotector
وَمَن
wamanAnd whoever
يُضْلِلِ
yuḍ'liliAllah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah lets go astray
فَمَا
famāthen not
لَهُۥ
lahufor him
مِنْ
minany
هَادٍۢ
hādinguide
٣٣
(33)
The Day you will turn your backs fleeing; there is not for you from Allāh any protector. And whoever Allāh sends astray - there is not for him any guide.

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd indeed
جَآءَكُمْ

يُوسُفُ
yūsufuYusuf
مِن

قَبْلُ
qablubefore
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ
bil-bayinātiwith clear proofs
فَمَا
famābut not
زِلْتُمْ
zil'tumyou ceased
فِى
in
شَكٍّۢ
shakkindoubt
مِّمَّا
mimmāabout what
جَآءَكُم
jāakumhe brought to you
بِهِۦ ۖ
bihi[with it]
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattāuntil
إِذَا
idhāwhen
هَلَكَ
halakahe died
قُلْتُمْ
qul'tumyou said
لَن
lanNever
يَبْعَثَ
yabʿathawill Allah raise
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuwill Allah raise
مِنۢ
minafter him
بَعْدِهِۦ
baʿdihiafter him
رَسُولًۭا ۚ
rasūlana Messenger
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālikaThus
يُضِلُّ
yuḍilluAllah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah lets go astray
مَنْ
manwho
هُوَ
huwa[he]
مُسْرِفٌۭ
mus'rifun(is) a transgressor
مُّرْتَابٌ
mur'tābuna doubter
٣٤
(34)
And Joseph had already come to you before with clear proofs, but you remained in doubt of that which he brought to you, until when he died, you said, 'Never will Allāh send a messenger after him.' Thus does Allāh leave astray he who is a transgressor and skeptic."

ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnaThose who
يُجَـٰدِلُونَ
yujādilūnadispute
فِىٓ
concerning
ءَايَـٰتِ
āyāti(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
بِغَيْرِ
bighayriwithout
سُلْطَـٰنٍ
sul'ṭāninany authority
أَتَىٰهُمْ ۖ
atāhum(having) come to them
كَبُرَ
kabura(it) is greatly
مَقْتًا
maqtanhateful
عِندَ
ʿindanear Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahinear Allah
وَعِندَ
waʿindaand near
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose
ءَامَنُوا۟ ۚ
āmanūwho believe
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālikaThus
يَطْبَعُ
yaṭbaʿuAllah sets a seal
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah sets a seal
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāover
كُلِّ
kullievery
قَلْبِ
qalbiheart
مُتَكَبِّرٍۢ
mutakabbirin(of) an arrogant
جَبَّارٍۢ
jabbārintyrant
٣٥
(35)
Those who dispute concerning the signs of Allāh without an authority having come to them - great is hatred [of them] in the sight of Allāh and in the sight of those who have believed. Thus does Allāh seal over every heart [belonging to] an arrogant tyrant.

فِرْعَوْنُ
fir'ʿawnuFiraun
يَـٰهَـٰمَـٰنُ
yāhāmānuO Haman
ٱبْنِ
ib'niConstruct
لِى
for me
صَرْحًۭا
ṣarḥana tower
لَّعَلِّىٓ
laʿallīthat I may
أَبْلُغُ
ablughureach
ٱلْأَسْبَـٰبَ
l-asbābathe ways
٣٦
(36)
And Pharaoh said, "O Hāmān, construct for me a tower that I might reach the ways -

أَسْبَـٰبَ
asbāba(The) ways
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti(to) the heavens
فَأَطَّلِعَ
fa-aṭṭaliʿaso I may look
إِلَىٰٓ
ilāat
إِلَـٰهِ
ilāhi(the) God
مُوسَىٰ
mūsā(of) Musa
وَإِنِّى
wa-innīand indeed, I
لَأَظُنُّهُۥ
la-aẓunnuhu[I] surely think him
كَـٰذِبًۭا ۚ
kādhiban(to be) a liar
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wakadhālikaAnd thus
زُيِّنَ
zuyyinawas made fair-seeming
لِفِرْعَوْنَ
lifir'ʿawnato Firaun
سُوٓءُ
sūu(the) evil
عَمَلِهِۦ
ʿamalihi(of) his deed
وَصُدَّ
waṣuddaand he was averted
عَنِ
ʿanifrom
ٱلسَّبِيلِ ۚ
l-sabīlithe way
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
كَيْدُ
kaydu(was the) plot
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna(of) Firaun
إِلَّا
illāexcept
فِى
in
تَبَابٍۢ
tabābinruin
٣٧
(37)
The ways into the heavens - so that I may look at the deity of Moses; but indeed, I think he is a liar." And thus was made attractive to Pharaoh the evil of his deed, and he was averted from the [right] way. And the plan of Pharaoh was not except in ruin.

وَقَالَ

ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhīthe one who
ءَامَنَ

يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmiO my people
ٱتَّبِعُونِ
ittabiʿūniFollow me
أَهْدِكُمْ
ahdikumI will guide you
سَبِيلَ
sabīla(to the) way
ٱلرَّشَادِ
l-rashādithe right
٣٨
(38)
And he who believed said, "O my people, follow me; I will guide you to the way of right conduct.

يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmiO my people
إِنَّمَا
innamāOnly
هَـٰذِهِ
hādhihithis
ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ
l-ḥayatuthe life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā(of) the world
مَتَـٰعٌۭ
matāʿun(is) enjoyment
وَإِنَّ
wa-innaand indeed
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
l-ākhiratathe Hereafter
هِىَ
hiyait
دَارُ
dāru(is the) home
ٱلْقَرَارِ
l-qarāri(of) settlement
٣٩
(39)
O my people, this worldly life is only [temporary] enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter - that is the home of [permanent] settlement.

مَنْ
manWhoever
عَمِلَ
ʿamiladoes
سَيِّئَةًۭ
sayyi-atanan evil
فَلَا
falāthen not
يُجْزَىٰٓ
yuj'zāhe will be recompensed
إِلَّا
illābut
مِثْلَهَا ۖ
mith'lahā(the) like thereof
وَمَنْ
wamanand whoever
عَمِلَ
ʿamiladoes
صَـٰلِحًۭا
ṣāliḥanrighteous (deeds)
مِّن
minof
ذَكَرٍ
dhakarinmale
أَوْ
awor
أُنثَىٰ
unthāfemale
وَهُوَ
wahuwawhile he
مُؤْمِنٌۭ
mu'minun(is) a believer
فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
fa-ulāikathen those
يَدْخُلُونَ
yadkhulūnawill enter
ٱلْجَنَّةَ
l-janataParadise
يُرْزَقُونَ
yur'zaqūnathey will be given provision
فِيهَا
fīhāin it
بِغَيْرِ
bighayriwithout
حِسَابٍۢ
ḥisābinaccount
٤٠
(40)
Whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except by the like thereof; but whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - those will enter Paradise, being given provision therein without account.

۞ وَيَـٰقَوْمِ
wayāqawmiAnd O my people
مَا
What (is)
لِىٓ
for me
أَدْعُوكُمْ
adʿūkum(that) I call you
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱلنَّجَوٰةِ
l-najatithe salvation
وَتَدْعُونَنِىٓ
watadʿūnanīwhile you call me
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nārithe Fire
٤١
(41)
And O my people, how is it that I invite you to salvation while you invite me to the Fire?

تَدْعُونَنِى
tadʿūnanīYou call me
لِأَكْفُرَ
li-akfurathat I disbelieve
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahiin Allah
وَأُشْرِكَ
wa-ush'rikaand (to) associate
بِهِۦ
bihiwith Him
مَا
what
لَيْسَ
laysanot
لِى
for me
بِهِۦ
bihiof it
عِلْمٌۭ
ʿil'munany knowledge
وَأَنَا۠
wa-anāand I
أَدْعُوكُمْ
adʿūkumcall you
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱلْعَزِيزِ
l-ʿazīzithe All-Mighty
ٱلْغَفَّـٰرِ
l-ghafārithe Oft-Forgiving
٤٢
(42)
You invite me to disbelieve in Allāh and associate with Him that of which I have no knowledge, and I invite you to the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver.

جَرَمَ
jaramadoubt
أَنَّمَا
annamāthat what
تَدْعُونَنِىٓ
tadʿūnanīyou call me
إِلَيْهِ

لَيْسَ

دَعْوَةٌۭ
daʿwatuna claim
فِى
in
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yāthe world
وَلَا
walāand not
فِى
in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhiratithe Hereafter
وَأَنَّ
wa-annaand that
مَرَدَّنَآ
maraddanāour return
إِلَى
ilā(is) to
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
وَأَنَّ
wa-annaand that
ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
l-mus'rifīnathe transgressors
هُمْ
humthey
أَصْحَـٰبُ
aṣḥābu(will be the) companions
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nāri(of) the Fire
٤٣
(43)
Assuredly, that to which you invite me has no [response to a] supplication in this world or in the Hereafter; and indeed, our return is to Allāh, and indeed, the transgressors will be companions of the Fire.

فَسَتَذْكُرُونَ
fasatadhkurūnaAnd you will remember
مَآ
what
أَقُولُ
aqūluI say
لَكُمْ ۚ
lakumto you
وَأُفَوِّضُ
wa-ufawwiḍuand I entrust
أَمْرِىٓ
amrīmy affair
إِلَى
ilāto
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahiAllah
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
بَصِيرٌۢ
baṣīrun(is) All-Seer
بِٱلْعِبَادِ
bil-ʿibādiof (His) slaves
٤٤
(44)
And you will remember what I [now] say to you, and I entrust my affair to Allāh. Indeed, Allāh is Seeing of [His] servants."

فَوَقَىٰهُ
fawaqāhuSo Allah protected him
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuSo Allah protected him
سَيِّـَٔاتِ
sayyiāti(from the) evils
مَا
that
مَكَرُوا۟ ۖ
makarūthey plotted
وَحَاقَ
waḥāqaand enveloped
بِـَٔالِ
biāli(the) people
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna(of) Firaun
سُوٓءُ
sūu(the) worst
ٱلْعَذَابِ
l-ʿadhābipunishment
٤٥
(45)
So Allāh protected him from the evils they plotted, and the people of Pharaoh were enveloped by the worst of punishment -

ٱلنَّارُ
al-nāruThe Fire
يُعْرَضُونَ
yuʿ'raḍūnathey are exposed
عَلَيْهَا
ʿalayhāto it
غُدُوًّۭا
ghuduwwanmorning
وَعَشِيًّۭا ۖ
waʿashiyyanand evening
وَيَوْمَ
wayawmaAnd (the) Day
تَقُومُ
taqūmu(will be) established
ٱلسَّاعَةُ
l-sāʿatuthe Hour
أَدْخِلُوٓا۟
adkhilūCause to enter
ءَالَ
āla(the) people
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna(of) Firaun
أَشَدَّ
ashadda(in the) severest
ٱلْعَذَابِ
l-ʿadhābipunishment
٤٦
(46)
The Fire; they are exposed to it morning and evening. And the Day the Hour appears [it will be said], "Make the people of Pharaoh enter the severest punishment."

وَإِذْ
wa-idhAnd when
يَتَحَآجُّونَ
yataḥājjūnathey will dispute
فِى
in
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nārithe Fire
فَيَقُولُ
fayaqūluthen will say
ٱلضُّعَفَـٰٓؤُا۟
l-ḍuʿafāuthe weak
لِلَّذِينَ
lilladhīnato those who
ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟
is'takbarūwere arrogant
إِنَّا
innāIndeed, we
كُنَّا
kunnā[we] were
لَكُمْ
lakumfor you
تَبَعًۭا
tabaʿanfollowers
فَهَلْ
fahalso can
أَنتُم
antumyou
مُّغْنُونَ
mugh'nūnaavert
عَنَّا
ʿannāfrom us
نَصِيبًۭا
naṣībana portion
مِّنَ
minaof
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nārithe Fire
٤٧
(47)
And [mention] when they will argue within the Fire, and the weak will say to those who had been arrogant, "Indeed, we were [only] your followers, so will you relieve us of a share of the Fire?"

qālaWill say
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟
is'takbarū(were) arrogant
إِنَّا
innāIndeed, we
كُلٌّۭ
kullunall
فِيهَآ
fīhā(are) in it
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
قَدْ
qadcertainly
حَكَمَ
ḥakamahas judged
بَيْنَ
baynabetween
ٱلْعِبَادِ
l-ʿibādi(His) slaves
٤٨
(48)
Those who had been arrogant will say, "Indeed, all [of us] are in it. Indeed, Allāh has judged between the servants."

وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd will say
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose
فِى
in
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nārithe Fire
لِخَزَنَةِ
likhazanatito (the) keepers
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama(of) Hell
ٱدْعُوا۟
id'ʿūCall
رَبَّكُمْ
rabbakumyour Lord
يُخَفِّفْ
yukhaffif(to) lighten
عَنَّا
ʿannāfor us
يَوْمًۭا
yawmana day
مِّنَ
minaof
ٱلْعَذَابِ
l-ʿadhābithe punishment
٤٩
(49)
And those in the Fire will say to the keepers of Hell, "Supplicate your Lord to lighten for us a day from the punishment."

قَالُوٓا۟
qālūThey (will) say
أَوَلَمْ
awalamDid there not
تَكُ
takuDid there not
تَأْتِيكُمْ
tatīkumcome to you
رُسُلُكُم
rusulukumyour Messengers
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ ۖ
bil-bayinātiwith clear proofs
قَالُوا۟
qālūThey (will) say
بَلَىٰ ۚ
balāYes
قَالُوا۟
qālūThey (will) say
فَٱدْعُوا۟ ۗ
fa-id'ʿūThen call
وَمَا
wamābut not
دُعَـٰٓؤُا۟
duʿāu(is the) call
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīna(of) the disbelievers
إِلَّا
illāexcept
فِى
in
ضَلَـٰلٍ
ḍalālinerror
٥٠
(50)
They will say, "Did there not come to you your messengers with clear proofs?" They will say, "Yes." They will reply, "Then supplicate [yourselves], but the supplication of the disbelievers is not except in error [i.e., futility]."

إِنَّا
innāIndeed We
لَنَنصُرُ
lananṣuruWe will surely help
رُسُلَنَا
rusulanāOur Messengers
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaand those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieve
فِى
in
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
l-ḥayatithe life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā(of) the world
وَيَوْمَ
wayawmaand (on the) Day
يَقُومُ
yaqūmu(when) will stand
ٱلْأَشْهَـٰدُ
l-ashhāduthe witnesses
٥١
(51)
Indeed, We will support Our messengers and those who believe during the life of this world and on the Day when the witnesses will stand -

يَوْمَ
yawma(The) Day
لَا
not
يَنفَعُ
yanfaʿuwill benefit
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
مَعْذِرَتُهُمْ ۖ
maʿdhiratuhumtheir excuse
وَلَهُمُ
walahumuand for them
ٱللَّعْنَةُ
l-laʿnatu(is) the curse
وَلَهُمْ
walahumand for them
سُوٓءُ
sūu(is the) worst
ٱلدَّارِ
l-dārihome
٥٢
(52)
The Day their excuse will not benefit the wrongdoers, and they will have the curse, and they will have the worst home [i.e., Hell].

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd certainly
ءَاتَيْنَا
ātaynāWe gave
مُوسَى
mūsāMusa
ٱلْهُدَىٰ
l-hudāthe guidance
وَأَوْرَثْنَا
wa-awrathnāand We caused to inherit
بَنِىٓ
banī(the) Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla(the) Children of Israel
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ
l-kitābathe Book
٥٣
(53)
And We had certainly given Moses guidance, and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit the Scripture

hudanA guide
وَذِكْرَىٰ
wadhik'rāand a reminder
لِأُو۟لِى
li-ulīfor those
ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ
l-albābi(of) understanding
٥٤
(54)
As guidance and a reminder for those of understanding.

فَٱصْبِرْ
fa-iṣ'birSo be patient
إِنَّ
innaindeed
وَعْدَ
waʿda(the) Promise of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(the) Promise of Allah
حَقٌّۭ
ḥaqqun(is) true
وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ
wa-is'taghfirAnd ask forgiveness
لِذَنۢبِكَ
lidhanbikafor your sin
وَسَبِّحْ
wasabbiḥand glorify
بِحَمْدِ
biḥamdi(the) praise
رَبِّكَ
rabbika(of) your Lord
بِٱلْعَشِىِّ
bil-ʿashiyiin the evening
وَٱلْإِبْكَـٰرِ
wal-ib'kāriand the morning
٥٥
(55)
So be patient, [O Muḥammad]. Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth. And ask forgiveness for your sin and exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord in the evening and the morning.

ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
يُجَـٰدِلُونَ
yujādilūnadispute
فِىٓ
concerning
ءَايَـٰتِ
āyāti(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
بِغَيْرِ
bighayriwithout
سُلْطَـٰنٍ
sul'ṭāninany authority
أَتَىٰهُمْ ۙ
atāhum(which) came to them
إِن
innot
فِى
(is) in
صُدُورِهِمْ
ṣudūrihimtheir breasts
إِلَّا
illābut
كِبْرٌۭ
kib'rungreatness
مَّا
not
هُم
humthey
بِبَـٰلِغِيهِ ۚ
bibālighīhi(can) reach it
فَٱسْتَعِذْ
fa-is'taʿidhSo seek refuge
بِٱللَّهِ ۖ
bil-lahiin Allah
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed He
هُوَ
huwaHe
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
l-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلْبَصِيرُ
l-baṣīruthe All-Seer
٥٦
(56)
Indeed, those who dispute concerning the signs of Allāh without [any] evidence having come to them - there is not within their breasts except pride, [the extent of] which they cannot reach. So seek refuge in Allāh. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Seeing.

lakhalquSurely, (the) creation
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍiand the earth
أَكْبَرُ
akbaru(is) greater
مِنْ
minthan
خَلْقِ
khalqi(the) creation
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsi(of) the mankind
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
walākinnabut
أَكْثَرَ
aktharamost
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsi(of) the people
لَا
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūnaknow
٥٧
(57)
The creation of the heavens and earth is greater than the creation of mankind, but most of the people do not know.

وَمَا
wamāAnd not
يَسْتَوِى
yastawī(are) equal
ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ
l-aʿmāthe blind
وَٱلْبَصِيرُ
wal-baṣīruand the seeing
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaand those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieve
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilūand do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥātirighteous deeds
وَلَا
walāand not
ٱلْمُسِىٓءُ ۚ
l-musīuthe evildoer
قَلِيلًۭا
qalīlanLittle
مَّا
(is) what
تَتَذَكَّرُونَ
tatadhakkarūnayou take heed
٥٨
(58)
And not equal are the blind and the seeing, nor are those who believe and do righteous deeds and the evildoer. Little do you remember.

ٱلسَّاعَةَ
l-sāʿatathe Hour
لَـَٔاتِيَةٌۭ
laātiyatun(is) surely coming
لَّا

رَيْبَ
raybadoubt
فِيهَا

وَلَـٰكِنَّ
walākinnabut
أَكْثَرَ
aktharamost
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsi(of) the people
لَا
(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūnabelieve
٥٩
(59)
Indeed, the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - but most of the people do not believe.

وَقَالَ
waqālaAnd said
رَبُّكُمُ
rabbukumuyour Lord
ٱدْعُونِىٓ
id'ʿūnīCall upon Me
أَسْتَجِبْ
astajibI will respond
لَكُمْ ۚ

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
yastakbirūna(are) proud
عَنْ
ʿanto
عِبَادَتِى
ʿibādatīworship Me
سَيَدْخُلُونَ
sayadkhulūnawill enter
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannamaHell
دَاخِرِينَ
dākhirīna(in) humiliation
٦٠
(60)
And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible.

ٱللَّهُ
al-lahuAllah
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
jaʿalamade
لَكُمُ
lakumufor you
ٱلَّيْلَ
al-laylathe night
لِتَسْكُنُوا۟
litaskunūthat you may rest
فِيهِ
fīhiin it
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
wal-nahāraand the day
مُبْصِرًا ۚ
mub'ṣirangiving visibility
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
لَذُو
ladhū(is) Full (of) Bounty
فَضْلٍ
faḍlin(is) Full (of) Bounty
عَلَى
ʿalāto
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsithe people
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
walākinnabut
أَكْثَرَ
aktharamost
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsi(of) the people
لَا
(do) not
يَشْكُرُونَ
yashkurūnagive thanks
٦١
(61)
It is Allāh who made for you the night that you may rest therein and the day giving sight. Indeed, Allāh is the possessor of bounty for the people, but most of them are not grateful.

ذَٰلِكُمُ

ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu(is) Allah
رَبُّكُمْ

خَـٰلِقُ
khāliqu(the) Creator
كُلِّ
kulli(of) all
شَىْءٍۢ
shayinthings
لَّآ
(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَ
ilāhagod
إِلَّا
illāexcept
هُوَ ۖ
huwaHim
فَأَنَّىٰ
fa-annāSo how
تُؤْفَكُونَ
tu'fakūnaare you deluded
٦٢
(62)
That is Allāh, your Lord, Creator of all things; there is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded?

كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālikaThus
يُؤْفَكُ
yu'fakuwere deluded
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
كَانُوا۟
kānūwere
بِـَٔايَـٰتِ
biāyāti(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
يَجْحَدُونَ
yajḥadūnarejecting
٦٣
(63)
Thus were those [before you] deluded who were rejecting the signs of Allāh.

ٱللَّهُ
al-lahuAllah
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(is) the One Who
جَعَلَ
jaʿalamade
لَكُمُ

ٱلْأَرْضَ
l-arḍathe earth
قَرَارًۭا
qarārana place of settlement
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ
wal-samāaand the sky
بِنَآءًۭ
bināana canopy
وَصَوَّرَكُمْ
waṣawwarakumand He formed you
فَأَحْسَنَ
fa-aḥsanaand perfected
صُوَرَكُمْ
ṣuwarakumyour forms
وَرَزَقَكُم
warazaqakumand provided you
مِّنَ
minaof
ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ ۚ
l-ṭayibātithe good things
ذَٰلِكُمُ
dhālikumuThat
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu(is) Allah
رَبُّكُمْ ۖ
rabbukumyour Lord
فَتَبَارَكَ
fatabārakaThen blessed (is)
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah
رَبُّ
rabbu(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
٦٤
(64)
It is Allāh who made for you the earth a place of settlement and the sky a structure [i.e., ceiling] and formed you and perfected your forms and provided you with good things. That is Allāh, your Lord; then blessed is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.

ٱلْحَىُّ
l-ḥayu(is) the Ever-Living
لَآ
(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَ

إِلَّا

هُوَ

فَٱدْعُوهُ
fa-id'ʿūhuso call Him
مُخْلِصِينَ
mukh'liṣīna(being) sincere
لَهُ
lahuto Him
ٱلدِّينَ ۗ
l-dīna(in) the religion
ٱلْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamduAll praise (be)
لِلَّهِ
lillahito Allah
رَبِّ
rabbi(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
٦٥
(65)
He is the Ever-Living; there is no deity except Him, so call upon Him, [being] sincere to Him in religion. [All] praise is [due] to Allāh, Lord of the worlds.

أَنْ

أَعْبُدَ

ٱلَّذِينَ

تَدْعُونَ
tadʿūnayou call
مِن
minbesides
دُونِ
dūnibesides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
لَمَّا
lammāwhen
جَآءَنِىَ
jāaniyahave come to me
ٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتُ
l-bayinātuthe clear proofs
مِن
minfrom
رَّبِّى
rabbīmy Lord
وَأُمِرْتُ
wa-umir'tuand I am commanded
أَنْ
anto
أُسْلِمَ
us'limasubmit
لِرَبِّ
lirabbito (the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
٦٦
(66)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those you call upon besides Allāh once the clear proofs have come to me from my Lord, and I have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds."

ثُمَّ

مِنْ

عَلَقَةٍۢ
ʿalaqatina clinging substance
ثُمَّ
thummathen
يُخْرِجُكُمْ
yukh'rijukumHe brings you out
طِفْلًۭا
ṭif'lan(as) a child
ثُمَّ
thummathen
لِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟
litablughūlets you reach
أَشُدَّكُمْ
ashuddakumyour maturity
ثُمَّ
thummathen
لِتَكُونُوا۟
litakūnūlets you become
شُيُوخًۭا ۚ
shuyūkhanold
وَمِنكُم
waminkumand among you
مَّن
man(is he) who
يُتَوَفَّىٰ
yutawaffādies
مِن
minbefore
قَبْلُ ۖ
qablubefore
وَلِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟
walitablughūand lets you reach
أَجَلًۭا
ajalana term
مُّسَمًّۭى
musammanspecified
وَلَعَلَّكُمْ
walaʿallakumand that you may
تَعْقِلُونَ
taʿqilūnause reason
٦٧
(67)
It is He who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot; then He brings you out as a child; then [He develops you] that you reach your [time of] maturity, then [further] that you become elders. And among you is he who is taken in death before [that], so that you reach a specified term; and perhaps you will use reason.

يُحْىِۦ
yuḥ'yīgives life
وَيُمِيتُ ۖ
wayumītuand causes death
فَإِذَا
fa-idhāAnd when
قَضَىٰٓ
qaḍāHe decrees
أَمْرًۭا
amrana matter
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamāthen only
يَقُولُ
yaqūluHe says
لَهُۥ
lahuto it
كُن
kunBe
فَيَكُونُ
fayakūnuand it is
٦٨
(68)
He it is who gives life and causes death; and when He decrees a matter, He but says to it, "Be," and it is.

إِلَى

ٱلَّذِينَ

يُجَـٰدِلُونَ

فِىٓ

āyāti(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
أَنَّىٰ
annāHow
يُصْرَفُونَ
yuṣ'rafūnathey are turned away
٦٩
(69)
Do you not consider those who dispute concerning the signs of Allāh - how are they averted?

ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnaThose who
كَذَّبُوا۟
kadhabūdeny
بِٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
bil-kitābithe Book
وَبِمَآ
wabimāand with what
أَرْسَلْنَا
arsalnāWe sent
بِهِۦ
bihiwith it
رُسُلَنَا ۖ
rusulanāOur Messengers
فَسَوْفَ
fasawfabut soon
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūnathey will know
٧٠
(70)
Those who deny the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] and that with which We sent Our messengers - they are going to know,

ٱلْأَغْلَـٰلُ
l-aghlāluthe iron collars
فِىٓ
(will be) around
أَعْنَـٰقِهِمْ
aʿnāqihimtheir necks
وَٱلسَّلَـٰسِلُ
wal-salāsiluand the chains
يُسْحَبُونَ
yus'ḥabūnathey will be dragged
٧١
(71)
When the shackles are around their necks and the chains; they will be dragged

ٱلْحَمِيمِ
l-ḥamīmithe boiling water
ثُمَّ
thummathen
فِى
in
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nārithe Fire
يُسْجَرُونَ
yus'jarūnathey will be burned

(72)
In boiling water; then in the Fire they will be filled [with flame].

(is) that which

تُشْرِكُونَ

Then it will be said to them, "Where is that which you used to associate [with Him in worship]

قَالُوا۟

ضَلُّوا۟
ḍallūThey have departed
عَنَّا

lamNot
نَكُن
nakunwe used to
نَّدْعُوا۟
nadʿū[we] call
مِن
minbefore
قَبْلُ
qablubefore
شَيْـًۭٔا ۚ
shayananything
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālikaThus
يُضِلُّ
yuḍilluAllah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah lets go astray
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
٧٤
(74)
Other than Allāh?" They will say, "They have departed from us; rather, we did not used to invoke previously anything." Thus does Allāh put astray the disbelievers.

dhālikumThat was
بِمَا
bimābecause
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou used to
تَفْرَحُونَ
tafraḥūnarejoice
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
بِغَيْرِ
bighayriwithout
ٱلْحَقِّ
l-ḥaqiright
وَبِمَا
wabimāand because
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou used to
تَمْرَحُونَ
tamraḥūnabe insolent
٧٥
(75)
[The angels will say], "That was because you used to exult upon the earth without right and you used to behave insolently.

ٱدْخُلُوٓا۟
ud'khulūEnter
أَبْوَٰبَ
abwāba(the) gates
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama(of) Hell
خَـٰلِدِينَ
khālidīna(to) abide forever
فِيهَا ۖ
fīhāin it
فَبِئْسَ
fabi'saand wretched is
مَثْوَى
mathwā(the) abode
ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
l-mutakabirīna(of) the arrogant
٧٦
(76)
Enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and wretched is the residence of the arrogant."

فَٱصْبِرْ
fa-iṣ'birSo be patient
إِنَّ
innaindeed
وَعْدَ
waʿda(the) Promise
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
حَقٌّۭ ۚ
ḥaqqun(is) true
فَإِمَّا
fa-immāAnd whether
نُرِيَنَّكَ
nuriyannakaWe show you
بَعْضَ
baʿḍasome
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(of) what
نَعِدُهُمْ
naʿiduhumWe have promised them
أَوْ
awor
نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ
natawaffayannakaWe cause you to die
فَإِلَيْنَا
fa-ilaynāthen to Us
يُرْجَعُونَ
yur'jaʿūnathey will be returned
٧٧
(77)
So be patient, [O Muḥammad]; indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth. And whether We show you some of what We have promised them or We take you in death, it is to Us they will be returned.

أَرْسَلْنَا
arsalnāWe have sent
رُسُلًۭا
rusulanMessengers
مِّن
minbefore you
قَبْلِكَ

مَّن
man(are) who
قَصَصْنَا
qaṣaṣnāWe have related
عَلَيْكَ
ʿalaykato you
وَمِنْهُم
wamin'humand among them
مَّن
man(are) who
لَّمْ
lamnot
نَقْصُصْ
naqṣuṣWe have related
عَلَيْكَ ۗ
ʿalaykato you
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
كَانَ
kānais
لِرَسُولٍ
lirasūlinfor any Messenger
أَن
anthat
يَأْتِىَ
yatiyahe brings
بِـَٔايَةٍ
biāyatina Sign
إِلَّا
illāexcept
بِإِذْنِ
bi-idh'niby (the) permission
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahi(of) Allah
فَإِذَا
fa-idhāSo when
جَآءَ
jāacomes
أَمْرُ
amru(the) Command
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
قُضِىَ
quḍiyait will be decided
بِٱلْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqiin truth
وَخَسِرَ
wakhasiraand will lose
هُنَالِكَ
hunālikathere
ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ
l-mub'ṭilūnathe falsifiers
٧٨
(78)
And We have already sent messengers before you. Among them are those [whose stories] We have related to you, and among them are those [whose stories] We have not related to you. And it was not for any messenger to bring a sign [or verse] except by permission of Allāh. So when the command of Allāh comes, it will be concluded [i.e., judged] in truth, and the falsifiers will thereupon lose [all].

جَعَلَ

لَكُمُ

ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمَ
l-anʿāmathe cattle
لِتَرْكَبُوا۟
litarkabūthat you may ride
مِنْهَا
min'hāsome of them
وَمِنْهَا
wamin'hāand some of them
تَأْكُلُونَ
takulūnayou eat
٧٩
(79)
It is Allāh who made for you the grazing animals upon which you ride, and some of them you eat.

وَلَكُمْ
walakumAnd for you
فِيهَا
fīhāin them
مَنَـٰفِعُ
manāfiʿu(are) benefits
وَلِتَبْلُغُوا۟
walitablughūand that you may reach
عَلَيْهَا
ʿalayhāthrough them
حَاجَةًۭ
ḥājatana need
فِى
(that is) in
صُدُورِكُمْ
ṣudūrikumyour breasts
وَعَلَيْهَا
waʿalayhāand upon them
وَعَلَى
waʿalāand upon
ٱلْفُلْكِ
l-ful'kithe ships
تُحْمَلُونَ
tuḥ'malūnayou are carried
٨٠
(80)
And for you therein are [other] benefits and that you may realize upon them a need which is in your breasts; and upon them and upon ships you are carried.

وَيُرِيكُمْ
wayurīkumAnd He shows you
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ
āyātihiHis Signs
فَأَىَّ
fa-ayyaThen which
ءَايَـٰتِ
āyāti(of the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
تُنكِرُونَ
tunkirūnawill you deny
٨١
(81)
And He shows you His signs. So which of the signs of Allāh do you deny?

afalamDo they not
يَسِيرُوا۟
yasīrūtravel
فِى
through
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe land
فَيَنظُرُوا۟
fayanẓurūand see
كَيْفَ
kayfahow
كَانَ
kānawas
عَـٰقِبَةُ
ʿāqibatu(the) end
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna(of) those who
مِن
min(were) before them
قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ
qablihim(were) before them
كَانُوٓا۟
kānūThey were
أَكْثَرَ
aktharamore numerous
مِنْهُمْ
min'humthan them
وَأَشَدَّ
wa-ashaddaand mightier
قُوَّةًۭ
quwwatan(in) strength
وَءَاثَارًۭا
waāthāranand impressions
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe land
فَمَآ
famābut not
أَغْنَىٰ
aghnāavailed
عَنْهُم
ʿanhumthem
مَّا
what
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey used to
يَكْسِبُونَ
yaksibūnaearn
٨٢
(82)
Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than themselves and greater in strength and in impression on the land, but they were not availed by what they used to earn.

فَلَمَّا
falammāThen when
جَآءَتْهُمْ
jāathumcame to them
رُسُلُهُم
rusuluhumtheir Messengers
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ
bil-bayinātiwith clear proofs
فَرِحُوا۟
fariḥūthey rejoiced
بِمَا
bimāin what
عِندَهُم
ʿindahumthey had
مِّنَ
minaof
ٱلْعِلْمِ
l-ʿil'mithe knowledge
وَحَاقَ
waḥāqaand enveloped
بِهِم
bihimthem
مَّا
what
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey used to
بِهِۦ
bihi[at it]
يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
yastahziūnamock
٨٣
(83)
And when their messengers came to them with clear proofs, they [merely] rejoiced in what they had of knowledge, but they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

رَأَوْا۟

بَأْسَنَا
basanāOur punishment
قَالُوٓا۟
qālūthey said
ءَامَنَّا
āmannāWe believe
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahiin Allah
وَحْدَهُۥ
waḥdahuAlone
وَكَفَرْنَا
wakafarnāand we disbelieve
بِمَا

And when they saw Our punishment, they said, "We believe in Allāh alone and disbelieve in that which we used to associate with Him."

فَلَمْ

يَنفَعُهُمْ
yanfaʿuhumbenefit them
إِيمَـٰنُهُمْ
īmānuhumtheir faith
لَمَّا
lammāwhen
رَأَوْا۟
ra-awthey saw
بَأْسَنَا ۖ
basanāOur punishment
سُنَّتَ
sunnata(Such is the) Way
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
ٱلَّتِى
allatīwhich
قَدْ
qad(has) indeed
خَلَتْ
khalatpreceded
فِى
among
عِبَادِهِۦ ۖ
ʿibādihiHis slaves
وَخَسِرَ
wakhasiraAnd are lost
هُنَالِكَ
hunālikathere
ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
l-kāfirūnathe disbelievers
٨٥
(85)
But never did their faith benefit them once they saw Our punishment. [It is] the established way of Allāh which has preceded among His servants. And the disbelievers thereupon lost [all].
