تَنزِيلُ
tanzīlu(The) revelation
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābi(of) the Book
مِنَ
mina(is) from
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
ٱلْعَزِيزِ
l-ʿazīzithe All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمِ
l-ḥakīmithe All-Wise
٢
(2)
The revelation of the Book is from Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

إِنَّ
innaIndeed
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍiand the earth
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ
laāyātinsurely (are) Signs
لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
lil'mu'minīnafor the believers
٣
(3)
Indeed, within the heavens and earth are signs for the believers.

وَفِى
wafīAnd in
خَلْقِكُمْ
khalqikumyour creation
وَمَا
wamāand what
يَبُثُّ
yabuthuHe disperses
مِن
minof
دَآبَّةٍ
dābbatin(the) moving creatures
ءَايَـٰتٌۭ
āyātun(are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢ
liqawminfor a people
يُوقِنُونَ
yūqinūnawho are certain
٤
(4)
And in the creation of yourselves and what He disperses of moving creatures are signs for people who are certain [in faith].

وَٱخْتِلَـٰفِ
wa-ikh'tilāfiAnd (in the) alternation
ٱلَّيْلِ
al-layli(of) the night
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
wal-nahāriand the day
وَمَآ
wamāand what
أَنزَلَ
anzalaAllah sends down
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah sends down
مِنَ
minafrom
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāithe sky
مِن
minof
رِّزْقٍۢ
riz'qin(the) provision
فَأَحْيَا
fa-aḥyāand gives life
بِهِ
bihithereby
ٱلْأَرْضَ
l-arḍa(to) the earth
بَعْدَ
baʿdaafter
مَوْتِهَا
mawtihāits death
وَتَصْرِيفِ
wataṣrīfiand (in) directing
ٱلرِّيَـٰحِ
l-riyāḥi(the) winds
ءَايَـٰتٌۭ
āyātun(are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢ
liqawminfor a people
يَعْقِلُونَ
yaʿqilūnawho reason
٥
(5)
And [in] the alternation of night and day and [in] what Allāh sends down from the sky of provision [i.e., rain] and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and [in His] directing of the winds are signs for a people who reason.

تِلْكَ
til'kaThese
ءَايَـٰتُ
āyātu(are the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
نَتْلُوهَا
natlūhāWe recite them
عَلَيْكَ
ʿalaykato you
بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ
bil-ḥaqiin truth
فَبِأَىِّ
fabi-ayyiThen in what
حَدِيثٍۭ
ḥadīthinstatement
بَعْدَ
baʿdaafter
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
وَءَايَـٰتِهِۦ
waāyātihiand His Verses
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūnawill they believe
٦
(6)
These are the verses of Allāh which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement after Allāh and His verses will they believe?

وَيْلٌۭ
waylunWoe
لِّكُلِّ
likullito every
أَفَّاكٍ
affākinliar
أَثِيمٍۢ
athīminsinful

Woe to every sinful liar

يَسْمَعُ
yasmaʿuWho hears
ءَايَـٰتِ
āyāti(the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
تُتْلَىٰ
tut'lārecited
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhito him
ثُمَّ
thummathen
يُصِرُّ
yuṣirrupersists
مُسْتَكْبِرًۭا
mus'takbiranarrogantly
كَأَن
ka-anas if
لَّمْ
lamnot
يَسْمَعْهَا ۖ
yasmaʿhāhe heard them
فَبَشِّرْهُ
fabashir'huSo give him tidings
بِعَذَابٍ
biʿadhābin(of) a punishment
أَلِيمٍۢ
alīminpainful
٨
(8)
Who hears the verses of Allāh recited to him, then persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.

وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
عَلِمَ
ʿalimahe knows
مِنْ
minof
ءَايَـٰتِنَا
āyātināOur Verses
شَيْـًٔا
shayananything
ٱتَّخَذَهَا
ittakhadhahāhe takes them
هُزُوًا ۚ
huzuwan(in) ridicule
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāikaThose
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
عَذَابٌۭ
ʿadhābun(is) a punishment
مُّهِينٌۭ
muhīnunhumiliating
٩
(9)
And when he knows anything of Our verses, he takes them in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.

مِّن
minBefore them
وَرَآئِهِمْ
warāihimBefore them
جَهَنَّمُ ۖ
jahannamu(is) Hell
وَلَا
walāand not
يُغْنِى
yugh'nīwill avail
عَنْهُم
ʿanhumthem
مَّا
what
كَسَبُوا۟
kasabūthey had earned
شَيْـًۭٔا
shayananything
وَلَا
walāand not
مَا
what
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
ittakhadhūthey had taken
مِن
minbesides
دُونِ
dūnibesides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
أَوْلِيَآءَ ۖ
awliyāa(as) protectors
وَلَهُمْ
walahumAnd for them
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun(is) a punishment
عَظِيمٌ
ʿaẓīmungreat
١٠
(10)
Before them is Hell, and what they had earned will not avail them at all nor what they had taken besides Allāh as allies. And they will have a great punishment.

هَـٰذَا
hādhāThis
هُدًۭى ۖ
hudan(is) guidance
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīnaAnd those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarūdisbelieve
بِـَٔايَـٰتِ
biāyātiin (the) Verses
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim(of) their Lord
لَهُمْ
lahumfor them
عَذَابٌۭ
ʿadhābun(is) a punishment
مِّن
minof
رِّجْزٍ
rij'zinfilth
أَلِيمٌ
alīmunpainful
١١
(11)
This [Qur’ān] is guidance. And those who have disbelieved in the verses of their Lord will have a painful punishment of foul nature.

۞ ٱللَّهُ
al-lahuAllah
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(is) the One Who
سَخَّرَ
sakharasubjected
لَكُمُ
lakumuto you
ٱلْبَحْرَ
l-baḥrathe sea
لِتَجْرِىَ
litajriyathat may sail
ٱلْفُلْكُ
l-ful'kuthe ships
فِيهِ
fīhitherein
بِأَمْرِهِۦ
bi-amrihiby His Command
وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟
walitabtaghūand that you may seek
مِن
minof
فَضْلِهِۦ
faḍlihiHis Bounty
وَلَعَلَّكُمْ
walaʿallakumand that you may
تَشْكُرُونَ
tashkurūnagive thanks
١٢
(12)
It is Allāh who subjected to you the sea so that ships may sail upon it by His command and that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.

وَسَخَّرَ
wasakharaAnd He has subjected
لَكُم
lakumto you
مَّا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَمَا
wamāand whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
جَمِيعًۭا
jamīʿanall
مِّنْهُ ۚ
min'hufrom Him
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ
laāyātinsurely are Signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢ
liqawminfor a people
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
yatafakkarūnawho give thought
١٣
(13)
And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth - all from Him. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.

قُل
qulSay
لِّلَّذِينَ
lilladhīnato those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieve
يَغْفِرُوا۟
yaghfirū(to) forgive
لِلَّذِينَ
lilladhīnathose who
لَا
(do) not
يَرْجُونَ
yarjūnahope
أَيَّامَ
ayyāma(for the) days
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
لِيَجْزِىَ
liyajziyathat He may recompense
قَوْمًۢا
qawmana people
بِمَا
bimāfor what
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey used to
يَكْسِبُونَ
yaksibūnaearn
١٤
(14)
Say, [O Muḥammad], to those who have believed that they [should] forgive those who expect not the days of Allāh [i.e., of His retribution] so that He may recompense a people for what they used to earn.

مَنْ
manWhoever
عَمِلَ
ʿamiladoes
صَـٰلِحًۭا
ṣāliḥana righteous deed
فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ
falinafsihithen it is for his soul
وَمَنْ
wamanand whoever
أَسَآءَ
asāadoes evil
فَعَلَيْهَا ۖ
faʿalayhāthen it (is) against it
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
رَبِّكُمْ
rabbikumyour Lord
تُرْجَعُونَ
tur'jaʿūnayou will be returned
١٥
(15)
Whoever does a good deed - it is for himself; and whoever does evil - it is against it [i.e., the self or soul]. Then to your Lord you will be returned.

وَلَقَدْ
walaqadAnd certainly
ءَاتَيْنَا
ātaynāWe gave
بَنِىٓ
banī(the) Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla(the) Children of Israel
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ
l-kitābathe Book
وَٱلْحُكْمَ
wal-ḥuk'maand the wisdom
وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ
wal-nubuwataand the Prophethood
وَرَزَقْنَـٰهُم
warazaqnāhumand We provided them
مِّنَ
minaof
ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ
l-ṭayibātithe good things
وَفَضَّلْنَـٰهُمْ
wafaḍḍalnāhumand We preferred them
عَلَى
ʿalāover
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīnathe worlds
١٦
(16)
And We did certainly give the Children of Israel the Scripture and judgement and prophethood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds.

وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم
waātaynāhumAnd We gave them
بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ
bayyinātinclear proofs
مِّنَ
minaof
ٱلْأَمْرِ ۖ
l-amrithe matter
فَمَا
famāAnd not
ٱخْتَلَفُوٓا۟
ikh'talafūthey differed
إِلَّا
illāexcept
مِنۢ
minafter
بَعْدِ
baʿdiafter
مَا
[what]
جَآءَهُمُ
jāahumucame to them
ٱلْعِلْمُ
l-ʿil'muthe knowledge
بَغْيًۢا
baghyan(out of) envy
بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ
baynahumbetween themselves
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbakayour Lord
يَقْضِى
yaqḍīwill judge
بَيْنَهُمْ
baynahumbetween them
يَوْمَ
yawma(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
فِيمَا
fīmāabout what
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey used to
فِيهِ
fīhitherein
يَخْتَلِفُونَ
yakhtalifūnadiffer
١٧
(17)
And We gave them clear proofs of the matter [of religion]. And they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

ثُمَّ
thummaThen
جَعَلْنَـٰكَ
jaʿalnākaWe put you
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāon
شَرِيعَةٍۢ
sharīʿatinan ordained way
مِّنَ
minaof
ٱلْأَمْرِ
l-amrithe matter
فَٱتَّبِعْهَا
fa-ittabiʿ'hāso follow it
وَلَا
walāand (do) not
تَتَّبِعْ
tattabiʿfollow
أَهْوَآءَ
ahwāa(the) desires
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna(of) those who
لَا
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūnaknow
١٨
(18)
Then We put you, [O Muḥammad], on an ordained way concerning the matter [of religion]; so follow it and do not follow the inclinations of those who do not know.

إِنَّهُمْ
innahumIndeed, they
لَن
lannever
يُغْنُوا۟
yugh'nūwill avail
عَنكَ
ʿankayou
مِنَ
minaagainst
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
شَيْـًۭٔا ۚ
shayan(in) anything
وَإِنَّ
wa-innaAnd indeed
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
بَعْضُهُمْ
baʿḍuhumsome of them
أَوْلِيَآءُ
awliyāu(are) allies
بَعْضٍۢ ۖ
baʿḍin(of) others
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahuand Allah
وَلِىُّ
waliyyu(is the) Protector
ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
l-mutaqīna(of) the righteous
١٩
(19)
Indeed, they will never avail you against Allāh at all. And indeed, the wrongdoers are allies of one another; but Allāh is the protector of the righteous.

هَـٰذَا
hādhāThis
بَصَـٰٓئِرُ
baṣāiru(is) enlightenment
لِلنَّاسِ
lilnnāsifor mankind
وَهُدًۭى
wahudanand guidance
وَرَحْمَةٌۭ
waraḥmatunand mercy
لِّقَوْمٍۢ
liqawminfor a people
يُوقِنُونَ
yūqinūnawho are certain
٢٠
(20)
This [Qur’ān] is enlightenment for mankind and guidance and mercy for a people who are certain [in faith].

أَمْ
amDo
حَسِبَ
ḥasibathink
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
ٱجْتَرَحُوا۟
ij'taraḥūcommit
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ
l-sayiātievil deeds
أَن
anthat
نَّجْعَلَهُمْ
najʿalahumWe will make them
كَٱلَّذِينَ
ka-alladhīnalike those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieved
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilūand did
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥātirighteous deeds
سَوَآءًۭ
sawāanequal
مَّحْيَاهُمْ
maḥyāhum(in) their life
وَمَمَاتُهُمْ ۚ
wamamātuhumand their death
سَآءَ
sāaEvil is
مَا
what
يَحْكُمُونَ
yaḥkumūnathey judge
٢١
(21)
Or do those who commit evils think We will make them like those who have believed and done righteous deeds - [make them] equal in their life and their death? Evil is that which they judge [i.e., assume].

وَخَلَقَ
wakhalaqaAnd Allah created
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAnd Allah created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍaand the earth
بِٱلْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqiin truth
وَلِتُجْزَىٰ
walituj'zāand that may be recompensed
كُلُّ
kulluevery
نَفْسٍۭ
nafsinsoul
بِمَا
bimāfor what
كَسَبَتْ
kasabatit has earned
وَهُمْ
wahumand they
لَا
will not be wronged
يُظْلَمُونَ
yuẓ'lamūnawill not be wronged
٢٢
(22)
And Allāh created the heavens and earth in truth and so that every soul may be recompensed for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.

أَفَرَءَيْتَ
afara-aytaHave you seen
مَنِ
mani(he) who
ٱتَّخَذَ
ittakhadhatakes
إِلَـٰهَهُۥ
ilāhahu(as) his god
هَوَىٰهُ
hawāhuhis desire
وَأَضَلَّهُ
wa-aḍallahuand Allah lets him go astray
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuand Allah lets him go astray
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāknowingly
عِلْمٍۢ
ʿil'minknowingly
وَخَتَمَ
wakhatamaand He sets a seal
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāupon
سَمْعِهِۦ
samʿihihis hearing
وَقَلْبِهِۦ
waqalbihiand his heart
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʿalaand puts
عَلَىٰ
ʿalāover
بَصَرِهِۦ
baṣarihihis vision
غِشَـٰوَةًۭ
ghishāwatana veil
فَمَن
famanThen who
يَهْدِيهِ
yahdīhiwill guide him
مِنۢ
minafter
بَعْدِ
baʿdiafter
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahiAllah
أَفَلَا
afalāThen will not
تَذَكَّرُونَ
tadhakkarūnayou receive admonition
٢٣
(23)
Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and Allāh has sent him astray due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after Allāh? Then will you not be reminded?

وَقَالُوا۟
waqālūAnd they say
مَا
Not
هِىَ
hiyait
إِلَّا
illā(is) but
حَيَاتُنَا
ḥayātunāour life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā(of) the world
نَمُوتُ
namūtuwe die
وَنَحْيَا
wanaḥyāand we live
وَمَا
wamāand not
يُهْلِكُنَآ
yuh'likunādestroys us
إِلَّا
illāexcept
ٱلدَّهْرُ ۚ
l-dahruthe time
وَمَا
wamāAnd not
لَهُم
lahumfor them
بِذَٰلِكَ
bidhālikaof that
مِنْ
minany
عِلْمٍ ۖ
ʿil'minknowledge
إِنْ
innot
هُمْ
humthey
إِلَّا
illā(do) but
يَظُنُّونَ
yaẓunnūnaguess
٢٤
(24)
And they say, "There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time." And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming.

وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
تُتْلَىٰ
tut'lāare recited
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhimto them
ءَايَـٰتُنَا
āyātunāOur Verses
بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ
bayyinātinclear
مَّا
not
كَانَ
kānais
حُجَّتَهُمْ
ḥujjatahumtheir argument
إِلَّآ
illāexcept
أَن
anthat
قَالُوا۟
qālūthey say
ٱئْتُوا۟
i'tūBring
بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ
biābāināour forefathers
إِن
inif
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
ṣādiqīnatruthful
٢٥
(25)
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, their argument is only that they say, "Bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful."

قُلِ
quliSay
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah
يُحْيِيكُمْ
yuḥ'yīkumgives you life
ثُمَّ
thummathen
يُمِيتُكُمْ
yumītukumcauses you to die
ثُمَّ
thummathen
يَجْمَعُكُمْ
yajmaʿukumHe will gather you
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
يَوْمِ
yawmi(the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrection
لَا
no
رَيْبَ
raybadoubt
فِيهِ
fīhiabout it
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
walākinnaBut
أَكْثَرَ
aktharamost
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsi(of) the people
لَا
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūnaknow
٢٦
(26)
Say, "Allāh causes you to live, then causes you to die; then He will assemble you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt, but most of the people do not know."

وَلِلَّهِ
walillahiAnd for Allah
مُلْكُ
mul'ku(is the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ
wal-arḍiand the earth
وَيَوْمَ
wayawmaand (the) Day
تَقُومُ
taqūmuis established
ٱلسَّاعَةُ
l-sāʿatuthe Hour
يَوْمَئِذٍۢ
yawma-idhinthat Day
يَخْسَرُ
yakhsaruwill lose
ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ
l-mub'ṭilūnathe falsifiers
٢٧
(27)
And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And the Day the Hour appears - that Day the falsifiers will lose.

وَتَرَىٰ
watarāAnd you will see
كُلَّ
kullaevery
أُمَّةٍۢ
ummatinnation
جَاثِيَةًۭ ۚ
jāthiyatankneeling
كُلُّ
kulluEvery
أُمَّةٍۢ
ummatinnation
تُدْعَىٰٓ
tud'ʿāwill be called
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
كِتَـٰبِهَا
kitābihāits record
ٱلْيَوْمَ
l-yawmaToday
تُجْزَوْنَ
tuj'zawnayou will be recompensed
مَا
(for) what
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou used to
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūnado
٢٨
(28)
And you will see every nation kneeling [from fear]. Every nation will be called to its record [and told], "Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do.

هَـٰذَا
hādhāThis
كِتَـٰبُنَا
kitābunāOur Record
يَنطِقُ
yanṭiquspeaks
عَلَيْكُم
ʿalaykumabout you
بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ
bil-ḥaqiin truth
إِنَّا
innāIndeed, We
كُنَّا
kunnā[We] used to
نَسْتَنسِخُ
nastansikhutranscribe
مَا
what
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou used to
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūnado
٢٩
(29)
This, Our record, speaks about you in truth. Indeed, We were having transcribed whatever you used to do."

فَأَمَّا
fa-ammāThen as for
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieved
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilūand did
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti[the] righteous deeds
فَيُدْخِلُهُمْ
fayud'khiluhumwill admit them
رَبُّهُمْ
rabbuhumtheir Lord
فِى
in(to)
رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ
raḥmatihiHis mercy
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikaThat
هُوَ
huwa[it]
ٱلْفَوْزُ
l-fawzu(is) the success
ٱلْمُبِينُ
l-mubīnuclear
٣٠
(30)
So as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, their Lord will admit them into His mercy. That is what is the clear attainment.

وَأَمَّا
wa-ammāBut as for
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوٓا۟
kafarūdisbelieved
أَفَلَمْ
afalamThen were not
تَكُنْ
takunThen were not
ءَايَـٰتِى
āyātīMy Verses
تُتْلَىٰ
tut'lārecited
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykumto you
فَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ
fa-is'takbartumbut you were proud
وَكُنتُمْ
wakuntumand you became
قَوْمًۭا
qawmana people
مُّجْرِمِينَ
muj'rimīnacriminals
٣١
(31)
But as for those who disbelieved, [it will be said], "Were not Our verses recited to you, but you were arrogant and became a criminal people?

وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
قِيلَ
qīlait was said
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
وَعْدَ
waʿda(the) Promise
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
حَقٌّۭ
ḥaqqun(is) true
وَٱلسَّاعَةُ
wal-sāʿatuand the Hour
لَا
(there is) no
رَيْبَ
raybadoubt
فِيهَا
fīhāabout it
قُلْتُم
qul'tumyou said
مَّا
Not
نَدْرِى
nadrīwe know
مَا
what
ٱلسَّاعَةُ
l-sāʿatuthe Hour (is)
إِن
inNot
نَّظُنُّ
naẓunnuwe think
إِلَّا
illāexcept
ظَنًّۭا
ẓannanan assumption
وَمَا
wamāand not
نَحْنُ
naḥnuwe
بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ
bimus'tayqinīna(are) convinced
٣٢
(32)
And when it was said, 'Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth and the Hour [is coming] - no doubt about it,' you said, 'We know not what is the Hour. We assume only assumption, and we are not convinced.'"

وَبَدَا
wabadāAnd (will) appear
لَهُمْ
lahumto them
سَيِّـَٔاتُ
sayyiātu(the) evil
مَا
(of) what
عَمِلُوا۟
ʿamilūthey did
وَحَاقَ
waḥāqaand (will) envelop
بِهِم
bihimthem
مَّا
what
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey used
بِهِۦ
bihi[at it]
يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
yastahziūna(to) mock
٣٣
(33)
And the evil consequences of what they did will appear to them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

وَقِيلَ
waqīlaAnd it will be said
ٱلْيَوْمَ
l-yawmaToday
نَنسَىٰكُمْ
nansākumWe forget you
كَمَا
kamāas
نَسِيتُمْ
nasītumyou forgot
لِقَآءَ
liqāa(the) meeting
يَوْمِكُمْ
yawmikum(of) this Day of yours
هَـٰذَا
hādhā(of) this Day of yours
وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ
wamawākumuand your abode
ٱلنَّارُ
l-nāru(is) the Fire
وَمَا
wamāand not
لَكُم
lakumfor you
مِّن
minany
نَّـٰصِرِينَ
nāṣirīnahelpers
٣٤
(34)
And it will be said, "Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours, and your refuge is the Fire, and for you there are no helpers.

ذَٰلِكُم
dhālikumThat
بِأَنَّكُمُ
bi-annakumu(is) because you
ٱتَّخَذْتُمْ
ittakhadhtumtook
ءَايَـٰتِ
āyāti(the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
هُزُوًۭا
huzuwan(in) ridicule
وَغَرَّتْكُمُ
wagharratkumuand deceived you
ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ
l-ḥayatuthe life
ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ
l-dun'yā(of) the world
فَٱلْيَوْمَ
fal-yawmaSo this Day
لَا
not
يُخْرَجُونَ
yukh'rajūnathey will be brought forth
مِنْهَا
min'hāfrom it
وَلَا
walāand not
هُمْ
humthey
يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ
yus'taʿtabūnawill be asked to appease
٣٥
(35)
That is because you took the verses of Allāh in ridicule, and worldly life deluded you." So that Day they will not be removed from it, nor will they be asked to appease [Allāh].

فَلِلَّهِ
falillahiThen for Allah
ٱلْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamdu(is) all the praise
رَبِّ
rabbi(the) Lord
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَرَبِّ
warabbiand (the) Lord
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi(of) the earth
رَبِّ
rabbi(the) lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
٣٦
(36)
Then, to Allāh belongs [all] praise - Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the worlds.

وَلَهُ
walahuAnd for Him
ٱلْكِبْرِيَآءُ
l-kib'riyāu(is) the greatness
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ
wal-arḍiand the earth
وَهُوَ
wahuwaand He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
٣٧
(37)
And to Him belongs [all] grandeur within the heavens and the earth, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
