تَنزِيلُtanzīlu(The) revelation
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābi(of) the Book
مِنَmina(is) from
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
ٱلْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzithe All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمِl-ḥakīmithe All-Wise
٢(2)
The revelation of the Book is from Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
Juz 26Page 502
مَاmāNot
خَلَقْنَاkhalaqnāWe created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earth
وَمَاwamāand what
بَيْنَهُمَآbaynahumā(is) between both of them
إِلَّاillāexcept
بِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truth
وَأَجَلٍۢwa-ajalinand (for) a term
مُّسَمًّۭى ۚmusammanappointed
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaBut those who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieve
عَمَّآʿammāfrom what
أُنذِرُوا۟undhirūthey are warned
مُعْرِضُونَmuʿ'riḍūna(are) turning away
٣(3)
We did not create the heavens and earth and what is between them except in truth and [for] a specified term. But those who disbelieve, from that of which they are warned, are turning away.

قُلْqulSay
أَرَءَيْتُمara-aytumDo you see
مَّاmāwhat
تَدْعُونَtadʿūnayou call
مِنminbesides
دُونِdūnibesides
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
أَرُونِىarūnīShow me
مَاذَاmādhāwhat
خَلَقُوا۟khalaqūthey have created
مِنَminaof
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth
أَمْamor
لَهُمْlahumfor them
شِرْكٌۭshir'kun(is) any share
فِىfīin
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ ۖl-samāwātithe heavens
ٱئْتُونِىi'tūnīBring me
بِكِتَـٰبٍۢbikitābina book
مِّنminfrom
قَبْلِqablibefore
هَـٰذَآhādhāthis
أَوْawor
أَثَـٰرَةٍۢathāratina trace
مِّنْminof
عِلْمٍʿil'minknowledge
إِنinif
كُنتُمْkuntumyou are
صَـٰدِقِينَṣādiqīnatruthful
٤(4)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Have you considered that which you invoke besides Allāh? Show me what they have created of the earth; or did they have partnership in [creation of] the heavens? Bring me a scripture [revealed] before this or a [remaining] trace of knowledge, if you should be truthful."

وَمَنْwamanAnd who
أَضَلُّaḍallu(is) more astray
مِمَّنmimmanthan (he) who
يَدْعُوا۟yadʿūcalls
مِنminbesides
دُونِdūnibesides
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
مَنmanwho
لَّاlāwill not respond
يَسْتَجِيبُyastajībuwill not respond
لَهُۥٓlahuto him
إِلَىٰilāuntil
يَوْمِyawmi(the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) Resurrection
وَهُمْwahumand they
عَنʿanof
دُعَآئِهِمْduʿāihimtheir calls
غَـٰفِلُونَghāfilūna(are) unaware
٥(5)
And who is more astray than he who invokes besides Allāh those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection [i.e., never], and they, of their invocation, are unaware.

وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd when
حُشِرَḥushiraare gathered
ٱلنَّاسُl-nāsuthe people
كَانُوا۟kānūthey will be
لَهُمْlahumfor them
أَعْدَآءًۭaʿdāanenemies
وَكَانُوا۟wakānūand they will be
بِعِبَادَتِهِمْbiʿibādatihimof their worship
كَـٰفِرِينَkāfirīnadeniers
٦(6)
And when the people are gathered [that Day], they [who were invoked] will be enemies to them, and they will be deniers of their worship.

وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd when
تُتْلَىٰtut'lāare recited
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto them
ءَايَـٰتُنَاāyātunāOur Verses
بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢbayyinātinclear
قَالَqālasay
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieve
لِلْحَقِّlil'ḥaqqiof the truth
لَمَّاlammāwhen
جَآءَهُمْjāahumit comes to them
هَـٰذَاhādhāThis
سِحْرٌۭsiḥ'run(is) a magic
مُّبِينٌmubīnunclear
٧(7)
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, "This is obvious magic."

أَمْamOr
يَقُولُونَyaqūlūnathey say
ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖif'tarāhuHe has invented it
قُلْqulSay
إِنِiniIf
ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥif'taraytuhuI have invented it
فَلَاfalāthen not
تَمْلِكُونَtamlikūnayou have power
لِىlīfor me
مِنَminaagainst
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
شَيْـًٔا ۖshayananything
هُوَhuwaHe
أَعْلَمُaʿlamuknows best
بِمَاbimāof what
تُفِيضُونَtufīḍūnayou utter
فِيهِ ۖfīhiconcerning it
كَفَىٰkafāSufficient is He
بِهِۦbihiSufficient is He
شَهِيدًۢاshahīdan(as) a Witness
بَيْنِىbaynībetween me
وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۖwabaynakumand between you
وَهُوَwahuwaand He
ٱلْغَفُورُl-ghafūru(is) the Oft-Forgiving
ٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
٨(8)
Or do they say, "He has invented it"? Say, "If I have invented it, you will not possess for me [the power of protection] from Allāh at all. He is most knowing of that in which you are involved. Sufficient is He as Witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving, the Merciful."

قُلْqulSay
مَاmāNot
كُنتُkuntuI am
بِدْعًۭاbid'ʿana new (one)
مِّنَminaamong
ٱلرُّسُلِl-rusulithe Messengers
وَمَآwamāand not
أَدْرِىadrīI know
مَاmāwhat
يُفْعَلُyuf'ʿaluwill be done
بِىbīwith me
وَلَاwalāand not
بِكُمْ ۖbikumwith you
إِنْinNot
أَتَّبِعُattabiʿuI follow
إِلَّاillābut
مَاmāwhat
يُوحَىٰٓyūḥāis revealed
إِلَىَّilayyato me
وَمَآwamāand not
أَنَا۠anāI am
إِلَّاillābut
نَذِيرٌۭnadhīruna warner
مُّبِينٌۭmubīnunclear
٩(9)
Say, "I am not something new among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am not but a clear warner."

قُلْqulSay
أَرَءَيْتُمْara-aytumDo you see
إِنinif
كَانَkānait is
مِنْminfrom Allah
عِندِʿindifrom Allah
ٱللَّهِl-lahifrom Allah
وَكَفَرْتُمwakafartumand you disbelieve
بِهِۦbihiin it
وَشَهِدَwashahidaand testifies
شَاهِدٌۭshāhiduna witness
مِّنۢminfrom
بَنِىٓbanī(the) Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَis'rāīla(the) Children of Israel
عَلَىٰʿalāto
مِثْلِهِۦmith'lihi(the) like thereof
فَـَٔامَنَfaāmanathen he believed
وَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ ۖwa-is'takbartumwhile you are arrogant
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
لَاlā(does) not
يَهْدِىyahdīguide
ٱلْقَوْمَl-qawmathe people
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
١٠(10)
Say, "Have you considered: if it [i.e., the Qur’ān] was from Allāh, and you disbelieved in it while a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to something similar and believed while you were arrogant...?" Indeed, Allāh does not guide the wrongdoing people.

وَقَالَwaqālaAnd say
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieve
لِلَّذِينَlilladhīnaof those who
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve
لَوْlawIf
كَانَkānait had been
خَيْرًۭاkhayrangood
مَّاmānot
سَبَقُونَآsabaqūnāthey (would) have preceded us
إِلَيْهِ ۚilayhito it
وَإِذْwa-idhAnd when
لَمْlamnot
يَهْتَدُوا۟yahtadūthey (are) guided
بِهِۦbihiby it
فَسَيَقُولُونَfasayaqūlūnathey say
هَـٰذَآhādhāThis
إِفْكٌۭif'kun(is) a lie
قَدِيمٌۭqadīmunancient
١١(11)
And those who disbelieve say of those who believe, "If it had [truly] been good, they would not have preceded us to it." And when they are not guided by it, they will say, "This is an ancient falsehood."

وَمِنwaminAnd before it
قَبْلِهِۦqablihiAnd before it
كِتَـٰبُkitābu(was the) Scripture
مُوسَىٰٓmūsā(of) Musa
إِمَامًۭاimāman(as) a guide
وَرَحْمَةًۭ ۚwaraḥmatanand a mercy
وَهَـٰذَاwahādhāAnd this
كِتَـٰبٌۭkitābun(is) a Book
مُّصَدِّقٌۭmuṣaddiqunconfirming
لِّسَانًاlisānan(in) language
عَرَبِيًّۭاʿarabiyyanArabic
لِّيُنذِرَliyundhirato warn
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ظَلَمُوا۟ẓalamūdo wrong
وَبُشْرَىٰwabush'rāand (as) glad tidings
لِلْمُحْسِنِينَlil'muḥ'sinīnafor the good-doers
١٢(12)
And before it was the scripture of Moses to lead and as a mercy. And this is a confirming Book in an Arabic tongue to warn those who have wronged and as good tidings to the doers of good.

إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
قَالُوا۟qālūsay
رَبُّنَاrabbunāOur Lord
ٱللَّهُl-lahu(is) Allah
ثُمَّthummathen
ٱسْتَقَـٰمُوا۟is'taqāmūremain firm
فَلَاfalāthen no
خَوْفٌkhawfunfear
عَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimon them
وَلَاwalāand not
هُمْhumthey
يَحْزَنُونَyaḥzanūnawill grieve
١٣(13)
Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allāh," and then remained on a right course - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose
أَصْحَـٰبُaṣḥābu(are the) companions
ٱلْجَنَّةِl-janati(of) Paradise
خَـٰلِدِينَkhālidīnaabiding forever
فِيهَاfīhātherein
جَزَآءًۢjazāana reward
بِمَاbimāfor what
كَانُوا۟kānūthey used to
يَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
١٤(14)
Those are the companions of Paradise, abiding eternally therein as reward for what they used to do.

وَوَصَّيْنَاwawaṣṣaynāAnd We have enjoined
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَl-insāna(on) man
بِوَٰلِدَيْهِbiwālidayhito his parents
إِحْسَـٰنًا ۖiḥ'sānankindness
حَمَلَتْهُḥamalathuCarried him
أُمُّهُۥummuhuhis mother
كُرْهًۭاkur'han(with) hardship
وَوَضَعَتْهُwawaḍaʿathuand gave birth to him
كُرْهًۭا ۖkur'han(with) hardship
وَحَمْلُهُۥwaḥamluhuAnd (the) bearing of him
وَفِصَـٰلُهُۥwafiṣāluhuand (the) weaning of him
ثَلَـٰثُونَthalāthūna(is) thirty
شَهْرًا ۚshahranmonth(s)
حَتَّىٰٓḥattāuntil
إِذَاidhāwhen
بَلَغَbalaghahe reaches
أَشُدَّهُۥashuddahuhis maturity
وَبَلَغَwabalaghaand reaches
أَرْبَعِينَarbaʿīnaforty
سَنَةًۭsanatanyear(s)
قَالَqālahe says
رَبِّrabbiMy Lord
أَوْزِعْنِىٓawziʿ'nīgrant me (the) power
أَنْanthat
أَشْكُرَashkuraI may be grateful
نِعْمَتَكَniʿ'mataka(for) Your favor
ٱلَّتِىٓallatīwhich
أَنْعَمْتَanʿamtaYou have bestowed
عَلَىَّʿalayyaupon me
وَعَلَىٰwaʿalāand upon
وَٰلِدَىَّwālidayyamy parents
وَأَنْwa-anand that
أَعْمَلَaʿmalaI do
صَـٰلِحًۭاṣāliḥanrighteous (deeds)
تَرْضَىٰهُtarḍāhuwhich please You
وَأَصْلِحْwa-aṣliḥand make righteous
لِىlīfor me
فِىfīamong
ذُرِّيَّتِىٓ ۖdhurriyyatīmy offspring
إِنِّىinnīindeed
تُبْتُtub'tuI turn
إِلَيْكَilaykato You
وَإِنِّىwa-innīand indeed, I am
مِنَminaof
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَl-mus'limīnathose who submit
١٥(15)
And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(are) the ones
نَتَقَبَّلُnataqabbaluWe will accept
عَنْهُمْʿanhumfrom them
أَحْسَنَaḥsana(the) best
مَاmā(of) what
عَمِلُوا۟ʿamilūthey did
وَنَتَجَاوَزُwanatajāwazuand We will overlook
عَنʿan[from]
سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْsayyiātihimtheir evil deeds
فِىٓfīamong
أَصْحَـٰبِaṣḥābi(the) companions
ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖl-janati(of) Paradise
وَعْدَwaʿdaA promise
ٱلصِّدْقِl-ṣid'qitrue
ٱلَّذِىalladhīwhich
كَانُوا۟kānūthey were
يُوعَدُونَyūʿadūnapromised
١٦(16)
Those are the ones from whom We will accept the best of what they did and overlook their misdeeds, [their being] among the companions of Paradise. [That is] the promise of truth which they had been promised.

وَٱلَّذِىwa-alladhīBut the one who
قَالَqālasays
لِوَٰلِدَيْهِliwālidayhito his parents
أُفٍّۢuffinUff
لَّكُمَآlakumāto both of you
أَتَعِدَانِنِىٓataʿidāninīDo you promise me
أَنْanthat
أُخْرَجَukh'rajaI will be brought forth
وَقَدْwaqadand have already passed away
خَلَتِkhalatiand have already passed away
ٱلْقُرُونُl-qurūnuthe generations
مِنminbefore me
قَبْلِىqablībefore me
وَهُمَاwahumāAnd they both
يَسْتَغِيثَانِyastaghīthāniseek help
ٱللَّهَl-laha(of) Allah
وَيْلَكَwaylakaWoe to you
ءَامِنْāminBelieve
إِنَّinnaIndeed
وَعْدَwaʿda(the) Promise
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
حَقٌّۭḥaqqun(is) true
فَيَقُولُfayaqūluBut he says
مَاmāNot
هَـٰذَآhādhā(is) this
إِلَّآillābut
أَسَـٰطِيرُasāṭīru(the) stories
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the former (people)
١٧(17)
But one who says to his parents, "Uff to you; do you promise me that I will be brought forth [from the earth] when generations before me have already passed on [into oblivion]?" while they call to Allāh for help [and to their son], "Woe to you! Believe! Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth." But he says, "This is not but legends of the former peoples" -

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(are) the ones
حَقَّḥaqqa(has) proved true
عَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimuagainst them
ٱلْقَوْلُl-qawluthe word
فِىٓfīamong
أُمَمٍۢumaminnations
قَدْqad(that) already passed away
خَلَتْkhalat(that) already passed away
مِنminbefore them
قَبْلِهِمqablihimbefore them
مِّنَminaof
ٱلْجِنِّl-jini(the) jinn
وَٱلْإِنسِ ۖwal-insiand the men
إِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, they
كَانُوا۟kānūare
خَـٰسِرِينَkhāsirīna(the) losers
١٨(18)
Those are the ones upon whom the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect, [who will be] among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.

وَلِكُلٍّۢwalikullinAnd for all
دَرَجَـٰتٌۭdarajātun(are) degrees
مِّمَّاmimmāfor what
عَمِلُوا۟ ۖʿamilūthey did
وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمْwaliyuwaffiyahumand that He may fully compensate them
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْaʿmālahum(for) their deeds
وَهُمْwahumand they
لَاlāwill not be wronged
يُظْلَمُونَyuẓ'lamūnawill not be wronged
١٩(19)
And for all there are degrees [of reward and punishment] for what they have done, and [it is] so that He may fully compensate them for their deeds, and they will not be wronged.

وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) Day
يُعْرَضُyuʿ'raḍuwill be exposed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieved
عَلَىʿalāto
ٱلنَّارِl-nārithe Fire
أَذْهَبْتُمْadhhabtumYou exhausted
طَيِّبَـٰتِكُمْṭayyibātikumyour good things
فِىfīin
حَيَاتِكُمُḥayātikumuyour life
ٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the world
وَٱسْتَمْتَعْتُمwa-is'tamtaʿtumand you took your pleasures
بِهَاbihātherein
فَٱلْيَوْمَfal-yawmaSo today
تُجْزَوْنَtuj'zawnayou will be recompensed
عَذَابَʿadhāba(with) a punishment
ٱلْهُونِl-hūnihumiliating
بِمَاbimābecause
كُنتُمْkuntumyou were
تَسْتَكْبِرُونَtastakbirūnaarrogant
فِىfīin
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth
بِغَيْرِbighayriwithout
ٱلْحَقِّl-ḥaqi[the] right
وَبِمَاwabimāand because
كُنتُمْkuntumyou were
تَفْسُقُونَtafsuqūnadefiantly disobedient
٢٠(20)
And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "You exhausted your pleasures during your worldly life and enjoyed them, so this Day you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation because you were arrogant upon the earth without right and because you were defiantly disobedient."

۞ وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mention
أَخَاakhā(the) brother
عَادٍʿādin(of) Aad
إِذْidhwhen
أَنذَرَandharahe warned
قَوْمَهُۥqawmahuhis people
بِٱلْأَحْقَافِbil-aḥqāfiin the Al-Ahqaf
وَقَدْwaqadand had already passed away
خَلَتِkhalatiand had already passed away
ٱلنُّذُرُl-nudhuru[the] warners
مِنۢminbefore him
بَيْنِbaynibefore him
يَدَيْهِyadayhibefore him
وَمِنْwaminand after him
خَلْفِهِۦٓkhalfihiand after him
أَلَّاallāThat not
تَعْبُدُوٓا۟taʿbudūyou worship
إِلَّاillāexcept
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
إِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, I
أَخَافُakhāfu[I] fear
عَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumfor you
عَذَابَʿadhābaa punishment
يَوْمٍyawmin(of) a Day
عَظِيمٍۢʿaẓīminGreat
٢١(21)
And mention, [O Muḥammad], the brother of ʿAad, when he warned his people in [the region of] al-Aḥqāf - and warners had already passed on before him and after him - [saying], "Do not worship except Allāh. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."

قَالُوٓا۟qālūThey said
أَجِئْتَنَاaji'tanāHave you come to us
لِتَأْفِكَنَاlitafikanāto turn us away
عَنْʿanfrom
ءَالِهَتِنَاālihatināour gods
فَأْتِنَاfatināThen bring us
بِمَاbimāwhat
تَعِدُنَآtaʿidunāyou threaten us
إِنinif
كُنتَkuntayou are
مِنَminaof
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
٢٢(22)
They said, "Have you come to delude us away from our gods? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful."

قَالَqālaHe said
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnly
ٱلْعِلْمُl-ʿil'muthe knowledge
عِندَʿinda(is) with Allah
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(is) with Allah
وَأُبَلِّغُكُمwa-uballighukumand I convey to you
مَّآmāwhat
أُرْسِلْتُur'sil'tuI am sent
بِهِۦbihiwith it
وَلَـٰكِنِّىٓwalākinnībut
أَرَىٰكُمْarākumI see you
قَوْمًۭاqawmana people
تَجْهَلُونَtajhalūnaignorant
٢٣(23)
He said, "Knowledge [of its time] is only with Allāh, and I convey to you that with which I was sent; but I see you [to be] a people behaving ignorantly."

فَلَمَّاfalammāThen when
رَأَوْهُra-awhuthey saw it
عَارِضًۭاʿāriḍan(as) a cloud
مُّسْتَقْبِلَmus'taqbilaapproaching
أَوْدِيَتِهِمْawdiyatihimtheir valleys
قَالُوا۟qālūthey said
هَـٰذَاhādhāThis
عَارِضٌۭʿāriḍun(is) a cloud
مُّمْطِرُنَا ۚmum'ṭirunābringing us rain
بَلْbalNay
هُوَhuwait
مَاmā(is) what
ٱسْتَعْجَلْتُمis'taʿjaltumyou were asking it to be hastened
بِهِۦ ۖbihiyou were asking it to be hastened
رِيحٌۭrīḥuna wind
فِيهَاfīhāin it
عَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٌۭalīmunpainful
٢٤(24)
And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" Rather, it is that for which you were impatient: a wind, within it a painful punishment,

تُدَمِّرُtudammiruDestroying
كُلَّkullaevery
شَىْءٍۭshayinthing
بِأَمْرِbi-amriby (the) command
رَبِّهَاrabbihā(of) its Lord
فَأَصْبَحُوا۟fa-aṣbaḥūThen they became (such)
لَاlānot
يُرَىٰٓyurāis seen
إِلَّاillāexcept
مَسَـٰكِنُهُمْ ۚmasākinuhumtheir dwellings
كَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThus
نَجْزِىnajzīWe recompense
ٱلْقَوْمَl-qawmathe people
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَl-muj'rimīna[the] criminals
٢٥(25)
Destroying everything by command of its Lord. And they became so that nothing was seen [of them] except their dwellings. Thus do We recompense the criminal people.

وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainly
مَكَّنَّـٰهُمْmakkannāhumWe had established them
فِيمَآfīmāin what
إِنinnot
مَّكَّنَّـٰكُمْmakkannākumWe have established you
فِيهِfīhiin it
وَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāand We made
لَهُمْlahumfor them
سَمْعًۭاsamʿanhearing
وَأَبْصَـٰرًۭاwa-abṣāranand vision
وَأَفْـِٔدَةًۭwa-afidatanand hearts
فَمَآfamāBut not
أَغْنَىٰaghnāavailed
عَنْهُمْʿanhumthem
سَمْعُهُمْsamʿuhumtheir hearing
وَلَآwalāand not
أَبْصَـٰرُهُمْabṣāruhumtheir vision
وَلَآwalāand not
أَفْـِٔدَتُهُمafidatuhumtheir hearts
مِّنminany
شَىْءٍshayinthing
إِذْidhwhen
كَانُوا۟kānūthey were
يَجْحَدُونَyajḥadūnarejecting
بِـَٔايَـٰتِbiāyāti(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
وَحَاقَwaḥāqaand enveloped
بِهِمbihimthem
مَّاmāwhat
كَانُوا۟kānūthey used to
بِهِۦbihi[at it]
يَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūnaridicule
٢٦(26)
And We had certainly established them in such as We have not established you, and We made for them hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]. But their hearing and vision and hearts availed them not from anything [of the punishment] when they were [continually] rejecting the signs of Allāh; and they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainly
أَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe destroyed
مَاmāwhat
حَوْلَكُمḥawlakumsurrounds you
مِّنَminaof
ٱلْقُرَىٰl-qurāthe towns
وَصَرَّفْنَاwaṣarrafnāand We have diversified
ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِl-āyātithe Signs
لَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumthat they may
يَرْجِعُونَyarjiʿūnareturn
٢٧(27)
And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief].

فَلَوْلَاfalawlāThen why (did) not
نَصَرَهُمُnaṣarahumuhelp them
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whom
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ittakhadhūthey had taken
مِنminbesides
دُونِdūnibesides
ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllah
قُرْبَانًاqur'bānangods as a way of approach
ءَالِهَةًۢ ۖālihatangods as a way of approach
بَلْbalNay
ضَلُّوا۟ḍallūthey were lost
عَنْهُمْ ۚʿanhumfrom them
وَذَٰلِكَwadhālikaAnd that
إِفْكُهُمْif'kuhum(was) their falsehood
وَمَاwamāand what
كَانُوا۟kānūthey were
يَفْتَرُونَyaftarūnainventing
٢٨(28)
Then why did those they took besides Allāh as deities by which to approach [Him] not aid them? But they had strayed [i.e., departed] from them. And that was their falsehood and what they were inventing.

وَإِذْwa-idhAnd when
صَرَفْنَآṣarafnāWe directed
إِلَيْكَilaykato you
نَفَرًۭاnafarana party
مِّنَminaof
ٱلْجِنِّl-jinithe jinn
يَسْتَمِعُونَyastamiʿūnalistening
ٱلْقُرْءَانَl-qur'āna(to) the Quran
فَلَمَّاfalammāAnd when
حَضَرُوهُḥaḍarūhuthey attended it
قَالُوٓا۟qālūthey said
أَنصِتُوا۟ ۖanṣitūListen quietly
فَلَمَّاfalammāAnd when
قُضِىَquḍiyait was concluded
وَلَّوْا۟wallawthey turned back
إِلَىٰilāto
قَوْمِهِمqawmihimtheir people
مُّنذِرِينَmundhirīna(as) warners
٢٩(29)
And [mention, O Muḥammad], when We directed to you a few of the jinn, listening to the Qur’ān. And when they attended it, they said, "Listen attentively." And when it was concluded, they went back to their people as warners.

قَالُوا۟qālūThey said
يَـٰقَوْمَنَآyāqawmanāO our people
إِنَّاinnāIndeed, we
سَمِعْنَاsamiʿ'nā[we] have heard
كِتَـٰبًاkitābana Book
أُنزِلَunzilarevealed
مِنۢminafter
بَعْدِbaʿdiafter
مُوسَىٰmūsāMusa
مُصَدِّقًۭاmuṣaddiqanconfirming
لِّمَاlimāwhat
بَيْنَbayna(was) before it
يَدَيْهِyadayhi(was) before it
يَهْدِىٓyahdīguiding
إِلَىilāto
ٱلْحَقِّl-ḥaqithe truth
وَإِلَىٰwa-ilāand to
طَرِيقٍۢṭarīqina Path
مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢmus'taqīminStraight
٣٠(30)
They said, "O our people, indeed we have heard a [recited] Book revealed after Moses confirming what was before it which guides to the truth and to a straight path.

يَـٰقَوْمَنَآyāqawmanāO our people
أَجِيبُوا۟ajībūRespond
دَاعِىَdāʿiya(to the) caller
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
وَءَامِنُوا۟waāminūand believe
بِهِۦbihiin him
يَغْفِرْyaghfirHe will forgive
لَكُمlakumfor you
مِّنminof
ذُنُوبِكُمْdhunūbikumyour sins
وَيُجِرْكُمwayujir'kumand will protect you
مِّنْminfrom
عَذَابٍʿadhābina punishment
أَلِيمٍۢalīminpainful
٣١(31)
O our people, respond to the Caller [i.e., Messenger] of Allāh and believe in him; He [i.e., Allāh] will forgive for you your sins and protect you from a painful punishment.

وَمَنwamanAnd whoever
لَّاlā(does) not
يُجِبْyujibrespond
دَاعِىَdāʿiya(to the) caller
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
فَلَيْسَfalaysathen not
بِمُعْجِزٍۢbimuʿ'jizinhe can escape
فِىfīin
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth
وَلَيْسَwalaysaand not
لَهُۥlahufor him
مِنminbesides Him
دُونِهِۦٓdūnihibesides Him
أَوْلِيَآءُ ۚawliyāuprotectors
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose
فِىfī(are) in
ضَلَـٰلٍۢḍalālinerror
مُّبِينٍmubīninclear
٣٢(32)
But he who does not respond to the Caller of Allāh will not cause failure [to Him] upon earth, and he will not have besides Him any protectors. Those are in manifest error."

أَوَلَمْawalamDo not
يَرَوْا۟yarawthey see
أَنَّannathat
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
ٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the One Who
خَلَقَkhalaqacreated
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earth
وَلَمْwalamand (was) not
يَعْىَyaʿyatired
بِخَلْقِهِنَّbikhalqihinnaby their creation
بِقَـٰدِرٍbiqādirin(is) able
عَلَىٰٓʿalāto give life
أَنanto give life
يُحْـِۧىَyuḥ'yiyato give life
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ ۚl-mawtā(to) the dead
بَلَىٰٓbalāYes
إِنَّهُۥinnahuindeed He
عَلَىٰʿalā(is) on
كُلِّkullievery
شَىْءٍۢshayinthing
قَدِيرٌۭqadīrunAll-Powerful
٣٣(33)
Do they not see that Allāh, who created the heavens and earth and did not fail in their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yes. Indeed, He is over all things competent.

وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) Day
يُعْرَضُyuʿ'raḍuare exposed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieved
عَلَىʿalāto
ٱلنَّارِl-nārithe Fire
أَلَيْسَalaysaIs not
هَـٰذَاhādhāthis
بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖbil-ḥaqithe truth
قَالُوا۟qālūThey will say
بَلَىٰbalāYes
وَرَبِّنَا ۚwarabbināby our Lord
قَالَqālaHe will say
فَذُوقُوا۟fadhūqūThen taste
ٱلْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishment
بِمَاbimābecause
كُنتُمْkuntumyou used to
تَكْفُرُونَtakfurūnadisbelieve
٣٤(34)
And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will say, "Then taste the punishment for what you used to deny."

فَٱصْبِرْfa-iṣ'birSo be patient
كَمَاkamāas
صَبَرَṣabarahad patience
أُو۟لُوا۟ulūthose of determination
ٱلْعَزْمِl-ʿazmithose of determination
مِنَminaof
ٱلرُّسُلِl-rusulithe Messengers
وَلَاwalāand (do) not
تَسْتَعْجِلtastaʿjilseek to hasten
لَّهُمْ ۚlahumfor them
كَأَنَّهُمْka-annahumAs if they had
يَوْمَyawma(the) Day
يَرَوْنَyarawnathey see
مَاmāwhat
يُوعَدُونَyūʿadūnathey were promised
لَمْlamnot
يَلْبَثُوٓا۟yalbathūremained
إِلَّاillāexcept
سَاعَةًۭsāʿatanan hour
مِّنminof
نَّهَارٍۭ ۚnahārina day
بَلَـٰغٌۭ ۚbalāghunA notification
فَهَلْfahalBut will
يُهْلَكُyuh'laku(any) be destroyed
إِلَّاillāexcept
ٱلْقَوْمُl-qawmuthe people
ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَl-fāsiqūnathe defiantly disobedient
٣٥(35)
So be patient, [O Muḥammad], as were those of determination among the messengers and do not be impatient for them. It will be - on the Day they see that which they are promised - as though they had not remained [in the world] except an hour of a day. [This is] notification. And will [any] be destroyed except the defiantly disobedient people?
