يُسَبِّحُ
yusabbiḥuGlorifies
لِلَّهِ
lillahiAllah
مَا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwātithe heavens
وَمَا
wamāand whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe earth
ٱلْمَلِكِ
l-malikithe Sovereign
ٱلْقُدُّوسِ
l-qudūsithe Holy
ٱلْعَزِيزِ
l-ʿazīzithe All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمِ
l-ḥakīmithe All-Wise
١
(1)
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allāh, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

هُوَ
huwaHe
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī(is) the One Who
بَعَثَ
baʿathasent
فِى
among
ٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ
l-umiyīnathe unlettered
رَسُولًۭا
rasūlana Messenger
مِّنْهُمْ
min'humfrom themselves
يَتْلُوا۟
yatlūreciting
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhimto them
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ
āyātihiHis Verses
وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ
wayuzakkīhimand purifying them
وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ
wayuʿallimuhumuand teaching them
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ
l-kitābathe Book
وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ
wal-ḥik'mataand the wisdom
وَإِن
wa-inalthough
كَانُوا۟
kānūthey were
مِن
minfrom
قَبْلُ
qablubefore
لَفِى
lafīsurely in
ضَلَـٰلٍۢ
ḍalālinan error
مُّبِينٍۢ
mubīninclear
٢
(2)
It is He who has sent among the unlettered [Arabs] a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] and wisdom [i.e., the sunnah] - although they were before in clear error -

وَءَاخَرِينَ
waākharīnaAnd others
مِنْهُمْ
min'humamong them
لَمَّا
lammāwho have not yet
يَلْحَقُوا۟
yalḥaqūjoined
بِهِمْ ۚ
bihimthem
وَهُوَ
wahuwaand He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
٣
(3)
And [to] others of them who have not yet joined them. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikaThat
فَضْلُ
faḍlu(is the) Bounty
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
يُؤْتِيهِ
yu'tīhiHe gives it
مَن
man(to) whom
يَشَآءُ ۚ
yashāuHe wills
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahuAnd Allah
ذُو
dhū(is the) Possessor
ٱلْفَضْلِ
l-faḍli(of) Bounty
ٱلْعَظِيمِ
l-ʿaẓīmithe Great
٤
(4)
That is the bounty of Allāh, which He gives to whom He wills, and Allāh is the possessor of great bounty.

مَثَلُ
mathalu(The) likeness
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna(of) those who
حُمِّلُوا۟
ḥummilūwere entrusted
ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ
l-tawrāta(with) the Taurat
ثُمَّ
thummathen
لَمْ
lamnot
يَحْمِلُوهَا
yaḥmilūhāthey bore it
كَمَثَلِ
kamathali(is) like
ٱلْحِمَارِ
l-ḥimārithe donkey
يَحْمِلُ
yaḥmiluwho carries
أَسْفَارًۢا ۚ
asfāranbooks
بِئْسَ
bi'saWretched is
مَثَلُ
mathalu(the) example
ٱلْقَوْمِ
l-qawmi(of) the people
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnawho
كَذَّبُوا۟
kadhabūdeny
بِـَٔايَـٰتِ
biāyāti(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahi(of) Allah
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahuAnd Allah
لَا
(does) not
يَهْدِى
yahdīguide
ٱلْقَوْمَ
l-qawmathe people
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
٥
(5)
The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books]. Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allāh. And Allāh does not guide the wrongdoing people.

قُلْ
qulSay
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhāO
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnayou (who)
هَادُوٓا۟
hādū(are) Jews
إِن
inIf
زَعَمْتُمْ
zaʿamtumyou claim
أَنَّكُمْ
annakumthat you
أَوْلِيَآءُ
awliyāu(are) allies
لِلَّهِ
lillahiof Allah
مِن
minfrom
دُونِ
dūniexcluding
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsithe people
فَتَمَنَّوُا۟
fatamannawūthen wish
ٱلْمَوْتَ
l-mawta(for) the death
إِن
inif
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
ṣādiqīnatruthful
٦
(6)
Say, "O you who are Jews, if you claim that you are allies of Allāh, excluding the [other] people, then wish for death, if you should be truthful."

وَلَا
walāBut not
يَتَمَنَّوْنَهُۥٓ
yatamannawnahuthey will wish for it
أَبَدًۢا
abadanever
بِمَا
bimāfor what
قَدَّمَتْ
qaddamat(have) sent forth
أَيْدِيهِمْ ۚ
aydīhimtheir hands
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahuAnd Allah
عَلِيمٌۢ
ʿalīmun(is) All-Knowing
بِٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
bil-ẓālimīnaof the wrongdoers
٧
(7)
But they will not wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allāh is Knowing of the wrongdoers.

قُلْ
qulSay
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
ٱلْمَوْتَ
l-mawtathe death
ٱلَّذِى
alladhīwhich
تَفِرُّونَ
tafirrūnayou flee
مِنْهُ
min'hufrom it
فَإِنَّهُۥ
fa-innahuthen surely it
مُلَـٰقِيكُمْ ۖ
mulāqīkum(will) meet you
ثُمَّ
thummaThen
تُرَدُّونَ
turaddūnayou will be sent back
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
عَـٰلِمِ
ʿālimi(the) All-Knower
ٱلْغَيْبِ
l-ghaybi(of) the unseen
وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ
wal-shahādatiand the witnessed
فَيُنَبِّئُكُم
fayunabbi-ukumand He will inform you
بِمَا
bimā[of] what
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou used to
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūnado
٨
(8)
Say, "Indeed, the death from which you flee - indeed, it will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you about what you used to do."

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhāO you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who(believe)
ءَامَنُوٓا۟
āmanūbelieve
إِذَا
idhāWhen
نُودِىَ
nūdiya(the) call is made
لِلصَّلَوٰةِ
lilṣṣalatifor (the) prayer
مِن
minon
يَوْمِ
yawmi(the) day
ٱلْجُمُعَةِ
l-jumuʿati(of) Friday
فَٱسْعَوْا۟
fa-is'ʿawthen hasten
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
ذِكْرِ
dhik'ri(the) remembrance
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
وَذَرُوا۟
wadharūand leave
ٱلْبَيْعَ ۚ
l-bayʿathe business
ذَٰلِكُمْ
dhālikumThat
خَيْرٌۭ
khayrun(is) better
لَّكُمْ
lakumfor you
إِن
inif
كُنتُمْ
kuntumyou
تَعْلَمُونَ
taʿlamūnaknow
٩
(9)
O you who have believed, when [the adhān] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumuʿah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allāh and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.

فَإِذَا
fa-idhāThen when
قُضِيَتِ
quḍiyatiis concluded
ٱلصَّلَوٰةُ
l-ṣalatuthe prayer
فَٱنتَشِرُوا۟
fa-intashirūthen disperse
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍithe land
وَٱبْتَغُوا۟
wa-ib'taghūand seek
مِن
minfrom
فَضْلِ
faḍli(the) Bounty
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi(of) Allah
وَٱذْكُرُوا۟
wa-udh'kurūand remember
ٱللَّهَ
l-lahaAllah
كَثِيرًۭا
kathīranmuch
لَّعَلَّكُمْ
laʿallakumso that you may
تُفْلِحُونَ
tuf'liḥūnasucceed
١٠
(10)
And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allāh, and remember Allāh often that you may succeed.

وَإِذَا
wa-idhāAnd when
رَأَوْا۟
ra-awthey saw
تِجَـٰرَةً
tijāratana transaction
أَوْ
awor
لَهْوًا
lahwana sport
ٱنفَضُّوٓا۟
infaḍḍūthey rushed
إِلَيْهَا
ilayhāto it
وَتَرَكُوكَ
watarakūkaand left you
قَآئِمًۭا ۚ
qāimanstanding
قُلْ
qulSay
مَا
What
عِندَ
ʿinda(is) with
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahiAllah
خَيْرٌۭ
khayrun(is) better
مِّنَ
minathan
ٱللَّهْوِ
l-lahwithe sport
وَمِنَ
waminaand from
ٱلتِّجَـٰرَةِ ۚ
l-tijārati(any) transaction
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahuAnd Allah
خَيْرُ
khayru(is the) Best
ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
l-rāziqīna(of) the Providers
١١
(11)
But [on one occasion] when they saw a transaction or a diversion, [O Muḥammad], they rushed to it and left you standing. Say, "What is with Allāh is better than diversion and than a transaction, and Allāh is the best of providers."
