وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ
wal-nāziʿātiBy those who extract
غَرْقًۭا
gharqanviolently
١
(1)
By those [angels] who extract with violence
Juz 30Page 583
2
وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ
wal-nāshiṭātiAnd those who draw out
نَشْطًۭا
nashṭangently
٢
(2)
And [by] those who remove with ease
Juz 30Page 583
3
وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ
wal-sābiḥātiAnd those who glide
سَبْحًۭا
sabḥanswimming
٣
(3)
And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming
Juz 30Page 583
4
فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ
fal-sābiqātiAnd those who race each other
سَبْقًۭا
sabqan(in) a race
٤
(4)
And those who race each other in a race
Juz 30Page 583
5
فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ
fal-mudabirātiAnd those who arrange
أَمْرًۭا
amran(the) matter
٥
(5)
And those who arrange [each] matter,
Juz 30Page 583
6
يَوْمَ
yawma(The) Day
تَرْجُفُ
tarjufuwill quake
ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
l-rājifatuthe quaking one
٦
(6)
On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation],

7
تَتْبَعُهَا
tatbaʿuhāFollows it
ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
l-rādifatuthe subsequent
٧
(7)
There will follow it the subsequent [one].

8
قُلُوبٌۭ
qulūbunHearts
يَوْمَئِذٍۢ
yawma-idhinthat Day
وَاجِفَةٌ
wājifatunwill palpitate
٨
(8)
Hearts, that Day, will tremble,

9
أَبْصَـٰرُهَا
abṣāruhāTheir eyes
خَـٰشِعَةٌۭ
khāshiʿatunhumbled
٩
(9)
Their eyes humbled.

10
يَقُولُونَ
yaqūlūnaThey say
أَءِنَّا
a-innāWill we
لَمَرْدُودُونَ
lamardūdūnaindeed be returned
فِى
to
ٱلْحَافِرَةِ
l-ḥāfiratithe former state
١٠
(10)
They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]?

أَءِذَا
a-idhāWhat! When
كُنَّا
kunnāwe are
عِظَـٰمًۭا
ʿiẓāmanbones
نَّخِرَةًۭ
nakhiratandecayed
١١
(11)
Even if we should be decayed bones?"

12
قَالُوا۟
qālūThey say
تِلْكَ
til'kaThis
إِذًۭا
idhanthen
كَرَّةٌ
karratun(would be) a return
خَاسِرَةٌۭ
khāsiratunlosing
١٢
(12)
They say, "That, then, would be a losing return."

13
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamāThen only
هِىَ
hiyait
زَجْرَةٌۭ
zajratun(will be) a shout
وَٰحِدَةٌۭ
wāḥidatunsingle
١٣
(13)
Indeed, it will be but one shout,

14
فَإِذَا
fa-idhāAnd behold
هُم
humThey
بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ
bil-sāhirati(will be) awakened
١٤
(14)
And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface.

15
هَلْ
halHas
أَتَىٰكَ
atāka(there) come to you
حَدِيثُ
ḥadīthu(the) story
مُوسَىٰٓ
mūsā(of) Musa
١٥
(15)
Has there reached you the story of Moses? -

16
إِذْ
idhWhen
نَادَىٰهُ
nādāhucalled him
رَبُّهُۥ
rabbuhuhis Lord
بِٱلْوَادِ
bil-wādiin the valley
ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ
l-muqadasithe sacred
طُوًى
ṭuwan(of) Tuwa
١٦
(16)
When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Ṭuwā,

ٱذْهَبْ
idh'habGo
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawnaFiraun
إِنَّهُۥ
innahuIndeed, he
طَغَىٰ
ṭaghā(has) transgressed
١٧
(17)
"Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed.

18
فَقُلْ
faqulAnd say
هَل
halWould
لَّكَ
laka[for] you
إِلَىٰٓ
ilā[to]
أَن
an[that]
تَزَكَّىٰ
tazakkāpurify yourself
١٨
(18)
And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself

19
وَأَهْدِيَكَ
wa-ahdiyakaAnd I will guide you
إِلَىٰ
ilāto
رَبِّكَ
rabbikayour Lord
فَتَخْشَىٰ
fatakhshāso you would fear
١٩
(19)
And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'"

20
فَأَرَىٰهُ
fa-arāhuThen he showed him
ٱلْـَٔايَةَ
l-āyatathe sign
ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
l-kub'rāthe great
٢٠
(20)
And he showed him the greatest sign,

21
فَكَذَّبَ
fakadhabaBut he denied
وَعَصَىٰ
waʿaṣāand disobeyed
٢١
(21)
But he [i.e., Pharaoh] denied and disobeyed.

ثُمَّ
thummaThen
أَدْبَرَ
adbarahe turned his back
يَسْعَىٰ
yasʿāstriving
٢٢
(22)
Then he turned his back, striving [i.e., plotting].

23
فَحَشَرَ
faḥasharaAnd he gathered
فَنَادَىٰ
fanādāand called out
٢٣
(23)
And he gathered [his people] and called out
Juz 30Page 584
24
فَقَالَ
faqālaThen he said
أَنَا۠
anāI am
رَبُّكُمُ
rabbukumuyour Lord
ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
l-aʿlāthe Most High
٢٤
(24)
And said, "I am your most exalted lord."

25
فَأَخَذَهُ
fa-akhadhahuSo seized him
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah
نَكَالَ
nakāla(with) an exemplary punishment
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhirati(for) the last
وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
wal-ūlāand the first
٢٥
(25)
So Allāh seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]..

26
إِنَّ
innaIndeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
لَعِبْرَةًۭ
laʿib'ratansurely (is) a lesson
لِّمَن
limanfor whoever
يَخْشَىٰٓ
yakhshāfears
٢٦
(26)
Indeed in that is a lesson [i.e., warning] for whoever would fear [Allāh].

ءَأَنتُمْ
a-antumAre you
أَشَدُّ
ashaddua more difficult
خَلْقًا
khalqancreation
أَمِ
amior
ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ
l-samāuthe heaven
بَنَىٰهَا
banāhāHe constructed it
٢٧
(27)
Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? He [i.e., Allāh] constructed it.

رَفَعَ
rafaʿaHe raised
سَمْكَهَا
samkahāits ceiling
فَسَوَّىٰهَا
fasawwāhāand proportioned it
٢٨
(28)
He raised its ceiling and proportioned it.

29
وَأَغْطَشَ
wa-aghṭashaAnd He darkened
لَيْلَهَا
laylahāits night
وَأَخْرَجَ
wa-akhrajaand brought out
ضُحَىٰهَا
ḍuḥāhāits brightness
٢٩
(29)
And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness.

30
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍaAnd the earth
بَعْدَ
baʿdaafter
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālikathat
دَحَىٰهَآ
daḥāhāHe spread it
٣٠
(30)
And after that He spread the earth.

31
أَخْرَجَ
akhrajaHe brought forth
مِنْهَا
min'hāfrom it
مَآءَهَا
māahāits water
وَمَرْعَىٰهَا
wamarʿāhāand its pasture
٣١
(31)
He extracted from it its water and its pasture,

32
وَٱلْجِبَالَ
wal-jibālaAnd the mountains
أَرْسَىٰهَا
arsāhāHe made them firm
٣٢
(32)
And the mountains He set firmly

33
مَتَـٰعًۭا
matāʿan(As) a provision
لَّكُمْ
lakumfor you
وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ
wali-anʿāmikumand for your cattle
٣٣
(33)
As enjoyment [i.e., provision] for you and your grazing livestock.

34
فَإِذَا
fa-idhāBut when
جَآءَتِ
jāaticomes
ٱلطَّآمَّةُ
l-ṭāmatuthe Overwhelming Calamity
ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
l-kub'rāthe great
٣٤
(34)
But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity -

35
يَوْمَ
yawma(The) Day
يَتَذَكَّرُ
yatadhakkaruwill remember
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ
l-insānuman
مَا
what
سَعَىٰ
saʿāhe strove (for)
٣٥
(35)
The Day when man will remember that for which he strove,

36
وَبُرِّزَتِ
waburrizatiAnd will be made manifest
ٱلْجَحِيمُ
l-jaḥīmuthe Hellfire
لِمَن
limanto (him) who
يَرَىٰ
yarāsees
٣٦
(36)
And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see -

37
فَأَمَّا
fa-ammāThen as for
مَن
man(him) who
طَغَىٰ
ṭaghātransgressed
٣٧
(37)
So as for he who transgressed
Juz 30Page 584
38
وَءَاثَرَ
waātharaAnd preferred
ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ
l-ḥayatathe life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā(of) the world
٣٨
(38)
And preferred the life of the world,
Juz 30Page 584
39
فَإِنَّ
fa-innaThen indeed
ٱلْجَحِيمَ
l-jaḥīmathe Hellfire
هِىَ
hiyait
ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
l-mawā(is) the refuge
٣٩
(39)
Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge.

40
وَأَمَّا
wa-ammāBut as for
مَنْ
man(him) who
خَافَ
khāfafeared
مَقَامَ
maqāmastanding
رَبِّهِۦ
rabbihi(before) his Lord
وَنَهَى
wanahāand restrained
ٱلنَّفْسَ
l-nafsahis soul
عَنِ
ʿanifrom
ٱلْهَوَىٰ
l-hawāthe vain desires
٤٠
(40)
But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,

41
فَإِنَّ
fa-innaThen indeed
ٱلْجَنَّةَ
l-janataParadise
هِىَ
hiyait (is)
ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
l-mawāthe refuge
٤١
(41)
Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge.

42
يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ
yasalūnakaThey ask you
عَنِ
ʿaniabout
ٱلسَّاعَةِ
l-sāʿatithe Hour
أَيَّانَ
ayyānawhen
مُرْسَىٰهَا
mur'sāhā(is) its arrival
٤٢
(42)
They ask you, [O Muḥammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival?

فِيمَ
fīmaIn what
أَنتَ
anta(are) you
مِن
min[of]
ذِكْرَىٰهَآ
dhik'rāhā(to) mention it
٤٣
(43)
In what [position] are you that you should mention it?

44
إِلَىٰ
ilāTo
رَبِّكَ
rabbikayour Lord
مُنتَهَىٰهَآ
muntahāhā(is) its finality
٤٤
(44)
To your Lord is its finality.
Juz 30Page 584
45
إِنَّمَآ
innamāOnly
أَنتَ
antayou
مُنذِرُ
mundhiru(are) a warner
مَن
man(for him) who
يَخْشَىٰهَا
yakhshāhāfears it
٤٥
(45)
You are only a warner for those who fear it.

46
كَأَنَّهُمْ
ka-annahumAs though they
يَوْمَ
yawma(the) Day
يَرَوْنَهَا
yarawnahāthey see it
لَمْ
lamnot
يَلْبَثُوٓا۟
yalbathūthey had remained
إِلَّا
illāexcept
عَشِيَّةً
ʿashiyyatanan evening
أَوْ
awor
ضُحَىٰهَا
ḍuḥāhāa morning thereof
٤٦
(46)
It will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.
