وَٱلتِّينِ
wal-tīniBy the fig
وَٱلزَّيْتُونِ
wal-zaytūniand the olive

By the fig and the olive

وَطُورِ
waṭūriAnd (the) Mount
سِينِينَ
sīnīnaSinai
٢
(2)
And [by] Mount Sinai

وَهَـٰذَا
wahādhāAnd this
ٱلْبَلَدِ
l-baladi[the] city
ٱلْأَمِينِ
l-amīni[the] secure
٣
(3)
And [by] this secure city [i.e., Makkah],

لَقَدْ
laqadIndeed
خَلَقْنَا
khalaqnāWe created
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
l-insānaman
فِىٓ
fīin
أَحْسَنِ
aḥsani(the) best
تَقْوِيمٍۢ
taqwīminmould
٤
(4)
We have certainly created man in the best of stature;

ثُمَّ
thummaThen
رَدَدْنَـٰهُ
radadnāhuWe returned him
أَسْفَلَ
asfala(to the) lowest
سَـٰفِلِينَ
sāfilīna(of the) low
٥
(5)
Then We return him to the lowest of the low,

إِلَّا
illāExcept
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīnathose who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanūbelieve
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilūand do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥātirighteous deeds
فَلَهُمْ
falahumthen for them
أَجْرٌ
ajrun(is a) reward
غَيْرُ
ghayrunever
مَمْنُونٍۢ
mamnūninending
٦
(6)
Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds, for they will have a reward uninterrupted.

فَمَا
famāThen what
يُكَذِّبُكَ
yukadhibukacauses you to deny
بَعْدُ
baʿduafter (this)
بِٱلدِّينِ
bil-dīnithe judgment
٧
(7)
So what yet causes you to deny the Recompense?

أَلَيْسَ
alaysaIs not
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahuAllah
بِأَحْكَمِ
bi-aḥkami(the) Most Just
ٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ
l-ḥākimīna(of) the Judges
٨
(8)
Is not Allāh the most just of judges?
